Ryo Hazuki, protagonist of Sega's Shenmue series, is being adapted into a statue that captures the full emotional range of the character – by which we mean it is completely devoid of emotion. Ryo Hazuki is the first in the Sega All Stars range from premium collectibles maker First4Figures. The one-foot-tall representation of the martial arts student/occasional dock worker comes in two variants: a $170 regular edition and a $185 "Exclusive" version with a base modeled after the sought-after "Phoenix Mirror" relic from the game. The figures are up for pre-order, due to ship in Q4. Just think, boxes of these will be moved in and out of warehouses by forklift.%Gallery-187299%

Goron into the gallery First 4 Figures has created a niche for itself as a destination for insane, rich Nintendo fans' extra money. The company has dipped pretty deep into the Zelda character catalog for its latest high-quality, high-cost figurine: Ocarina of Time's Goron King, Darunia. Zelda adherents who really want to festoon their desks, shelves or dioramas with a 15-inch rock man (he's to scale with First 4 Figures' other Zelda toys) can order one of these for $154.99 in advance of its Q4 2010 release. The rest of us can just look at pictures of the thing in the gallery below. %Gallery-92287%

  • First 4 Figures to sell Mario-themed Chess

While not as classy as some of the other First 4 Figures offerings, the Super Mario Collector's Edition Chess Set is still kind of neat and, unlike the company's previous works, actually affordable for most human beings. Manufactured by USAopoly, this chess set will set you back $45 when it releases near the end of this year and is, uh, pretty much just chess with characters from the Mushroom Kingdom. Kind of odd choice making Luigi the Queen, right? That might explain why he never found himself a nice lady like his brother did.[Via Go Nintendo]

First4Figures, the company responsible for all of those extravagant Nintendo figurines, has turned their attention to classic Sega for their next release: a line based on Genesis-era Sonic the Hedgehog. The collection is designed to represent Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles as they appeared back in the mid-'90s, before their extreme redesign -- before Knuckles started rapping. For now, the set includes Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles. The best part about this period in Sonic's life is that there aren't really any more ridiculous characters to base toys on. No Big the Cat, no Cream and Cheese, and certainly no Shadow. Maybe Robotnik and a couple of mechanical Sonics later, but this collection is safe from the sidekick parade that has ruined the series. The approximately 5-inch-tall toys will be released around the summer, for a currently unspecified price. Don't be surprised if they're expensive -- this is First4Figures, after all![Via Joystiq]

For those of you who're fans of the Sonic of yesteryear (you know, back when he was limited to 16-bit romps and what we consider to be his best game, Sonic CD), you'll be happy to hear that First4Figures is working on a Sonic statue to end all Sonic statues. Modeled after the original Sonic, this statue will likely be at the top of any diehard's wish list. Following up their previous Metroid Prime Hunters statues, they'll be working on these until completion in July of this year, when you'll be able to get your hands on Sonic, Tails and Knuckles. No word as of now on price, though.[Via Joystiq]

First4Figures have done it again. First it was Zelda, then Metroid. Now, they've breathed life into the classic Sonic the Hedgehog series with a line of vinyl figures, depicting Sonic, Tails and Knuckles as they were before their "extreme" redesign for Sonic Adventure. In fact, First4Figures has done a lot of great work since we last reported on them. Check out the group's site for a classy Sheik figurine, Altair from Assassin's Creed, and a gorgeous, LED-lit version of Samus's gunship from Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. The Knuckles, Tails and Sonic figures will comprise the first wave of Sonic figures manufactured, and are due out around July 2008. No word yet on pricing, though expect a premium on these high-quality pieces of fan-cred.

First 4 Figures have released another well-sculpted, detailed figurine of a Nintendo character. The new figure is the fourth entry in their series of N64-era Zelda characters, focusing on the mysterious, much-cooler-than-Link Sheik.Sheik stands about 9" tall and is in scale with the other figurines in the series. It will cost $109.99 and can be reserved now for shipping in the fall.Ocarina of Time is great, but we really want to get these figures to set up our own trophy table like the one in Super Smash Brothers Melee. But for $100+ each, we aren't sure if we could bring ourselves to make them fight.

  • Metroid Zero Suit Samus statue -- requires intense scanning

Since we're not sure when Super Smash Bros. Brawl is scheduled to assault us, it's hard to say with any certainty that the above Zero Suit Samus statue -- designed by the prolific folks at First4Figures -- will be ready in time for its launch. With a Q3 '07 release date for the statue, it seems likely that you'll be able to have one before Brawl drops featuring the very same Zero Suit Samus as a playable character. So, why all the concern about getting the statue first? We see it a couple different ways. First: what better way to reward the household's (world's?) reigning Super Smash Bros. champion than to bestow upon them a large (and, at $110, rather extravagant) statue? Oh, and second: you can always practice your moves by getting one of those Metal Gear Solid 4 Snake statues and forcing them to fight to the death ... after making them kiss ... like you weren't thinking that anyways.%Gallery-1699%

The latest in the long line of figurines from First 4 Figures has hit the internet and it's a real beauty. Featuring Samus in her Zero Suit (which you may have seen on our site during coverage for another game), this statue is guaranteed to make many a fanboy hot under the collar come its release during Q3 of this year. Of course, that isn't going to be a fanboy rolling in the dough post-purchase necessarily, as the suggested retail price of this statue is $109.99 US. Ouch! As if the games we purchased weren't expensive enough ...Anyone out there looking to get their hands on this statue?

First4Figures is back again, with another collectible statue based on the ever-so-popular Nintendo franchises of our youth. This time it's not the growth-hormone abusing Fierce Deity Link or the creepy Skull Kid, but the hunky all-AmericanHylian Ocarina of Time Link, adult version. Like the rest of F4F's offerings, this one doesn't come cheap. These aren't action figures you're going to be playing with, but collectible statues you're supposed to display. Think of it more like the collectible statues in Wind Waker, except you don't need to take pictures of people to get them ... and you don't have to find a sculptor's hidden underground lair.

When we saw First4Figures first Metroid statue, we wondered "where's Samus?" As it turns out, she was coming all along. Though it's not shipping yet, they've released the statue's likely to be final appearance, in both Varia and Gravity suit varieties. Also coming are Samus' Light, Dark, and Phazon suits. The $99 11" tall statue will be available later Q4 2006, which is more than we can say for the recently dated Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. There are two kinds of gamers in this world: those who favor Ocarina of Time and those who prefer Majora's Mask. Sure, the latter is a much smaller group -- easily dwarfed by Ocarina fans waving its 40/40 score in Famitsu magazine ("the first game to do so," they helpfully remind you) -- but First 4 Figures sent word that Majora's Fierce Deity Link would be the first in their lineup of Legend of Zelda figurines, undoubtedly beating out the much anticipated Ocarina Ingo figurine. At 14.5" tall, and $130, this thing is collectors only, we're afraid. Wouldn't want you recreating the epic showdown with Majora and busting your sword, y'know?See also: Colossal figurine ... at 1/150 scaleCollectible Metroid statue

The guys at First 4 Figures dropped us a tip to let us know about their upcoming Metroid Prime Hunters collectible, a 9" tall figurine of super-soldier bounty hunter Kanden. "Who?"Oh, Kanden. He's one of the six "hunters" in Metroid Prime Hunters. Yeah, the ones that most people thought were annoying in the otherwise stellar single-player game. What is cool about the statue is that it was recreated from the actual game data (like this guy), so expect a slightly less polygonal -- though highly accurate -- collectible. The website says the figurine will "feature an interconnecting base with the other upcoming hunters." Does that mean we will get a Samus? She's a bounty hunter! Samus is coming ... but not in just one suit. Oh no, we'll have four versions to plunk our would be gaming dollars down on, as well as all the other Hunters. As long as we're on the topic of the Hunters, am I the only one who thought their names sound sort of like American Gladiators: Noxus, Stylux, Spire, Trace, Weavel, and of course, Kanden?See also:Samus returns as... a Metroid paperweightSpore figurines at E3[Update: Noted that they're making additional figurines, including Samus.
