<div style="text-align: left;">SanDisk's original Sansa Fuze may have had a solid run -- it's been a particular favorite among those looking for a good, inexpensive player that doesn't skimp on features or audio quality -- but there's no question that it was long overdue for an update, and SanDisk recently came through on that front with the completely revised Sansa Fuze+. Boasting a considerably sleeker design, the Fuze+ replaces the Fuze's venerable tactile click wheel with a capacitive touch panel (but not a touchscreen), and it hangs onto many of the features that made the original Fuze stand out, including a microSD card slot, FM radio, and support for a wide range of formats (including FLAC and AAC). Are all the changes for the better? Read on for our full review. <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sandisk-sansa-fuze-0/">SanDisk Sansa Fuze+</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sandisk-sansa-fuze-0/#3421564"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/09/sandisk-sansa-fuze-01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sandisk-sansa-fuze-0/#3421565"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/09/sandisk-sansa-fuze-02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sandisk-sansa-fuze-0/#3421569"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/09/sandisk-sansa-fuze-03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sandisk-sansa-fuze-0/#3421571"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/09/sandisk-sansa-fuze-04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sandisk-sansa-fuze-0/#3421573"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/09/sandisk-sansa-fuze-05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div></div>

<a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/SanDisk/">SanDisk</a>'s finally updated its Fuze PMP with the Sansa <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Fuze/">Fuze</a>+. The newly designed device boasts a 2.4-inch LCD, with three capacities -- 4GB, 8GB, and 16GB -- to choose from. It also comes in red, white, purple, blue and black in the latter two models, while the 16GB only comes in black. Other than that, it's pretty low on features: the Fuze+ (you'll be happy to know) features full compatibility with <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/slotRadio/">slotRadio</a> (and all microSDHC cards), supports all the major file formats, and a new barebones user interface. The Fuze+ lineup is available today, and the 4GB will cost you $79, the 8GB model will run $89, while the 16GB is priced at $119. Full press release follows below.<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/08/31/sansa-debuts-newly-designed-fuze-pmps/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>SanDisk debuts newly designed Sansa Fuze+ PMPs</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/08/31/sansa-debuts-newly-designed-fuze-pmps/">SanDisk debuts newly designed Sansa Fuze+ PMPs</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 31 Aug 2010 10:32:00 EST. We'd figured that RIM's ambitious (if not questionable) project to port the juiciest morsels of BlackBerry OS to a virtual machine running atop Windows Mobile was abandoned long ago, and for all we know, it has -- but the half-baked remnants of the undertaking are finally available thanks to the good folks at xda-developers. <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/BlackBerryApplicationSuite/">BlackBerry Application Suite</a>, as its known, has finally found a proper home in a CAB file that's making the rounds on the forums, and it's apparently been bolted together with enough duct tape to work on an AT&amp;T <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Fuze/">Fuze</a>. Well, "work" is a relative term -- you've apparently got to be on a BES server for it to work, you need to generate a valid PIN, and actuating the touchscreen requires a double-tap, but when you're ready to stop punishing yourself with this craziness, the cold comfort of WinMo is just a couple clicks away. If you think you need this, odds are you really just need a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Storm2/">Storm2</a>, but hey, feel free to ruin your weekend trying to get this to work.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/12/blackberry-application-suite-leaks-ready-to-corrupt-a-perfectly/">BlackBerry Application Suite leaks, ready to corrupt a perfectly good WinMo phone</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Fri, 12 Feb 2010 07:24:00 EST. Among other things, you get AKU6, a new version of Voice Command, PTT button reassignability (because -- let's be honest -- not many people are using PTT on this device), an FM radio app, improved <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/TouchFLO/">TouchFLO</a> performance, and faster GPS locking. There's a frigging crap-ton of fixes all piled into the build, so it seems like a must-have for anyone pocketing a Fuze these days; it'll be at least a few more months yet before you have a chance to pull out the plastic for that <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/TouchPro2/">Touch Pro2</a>, right?<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.fuzemobility.com/att-fuze-test-rom-leaked/">Fuze Mobility</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/software/" rel="tag">Software</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/htc/" rel="tag">HTC</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/atandt/" rel="tag">ATT</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/03/03/leak-sauce-new-atandt-fuze-firmware-brings-bugfixes-aplenty/">Leak sauce: new AT&amp;T Fuze firmware brings bugfixes aplenty</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 03 Mar 2009 15:11:00 EST. <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/12/17/blackberry-application-suite-for-windows-mobile-spotted-virtuali/">BlackBerry Application Suite</a> is the ghost of the RIM world, making an occasional appearance as a fuzzy leaked pic -- but to the chagrin of WinMo and BlackBerry fanatics the world over, never actually getting announced or released. Boy Genius Report claims to have more details on what exactly BAS is and how (and where) it's going to work, and for the most part, it's a depressing read -- only the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/TouchPro/">Touch Pro</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Fuze/">Fuze</a>, and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/TyTN/">TyTN</a> will be compatible initially and it's only running BlackBerry OS 4.2 -- but there is one bright spot: Symbian compatibility. Presumably, this means S60 devices will have a crack at the package, and seriously, can you imagine this action humming along on an <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/E71/">E71</a>? Sorry, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/8900">Curve 8900</a>, but your title of "hottest BlackBerry" is in serious danger here.<br /><br />[Image via <a href="http://www.berryreview.com/2008/12/16/hot-blackberry-virtual-os-running-on-windows-mobile-htc-touch-pro-screencandy-aka-blackberry-application-suite/">BerryReview</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/software/" rel="tag">Software</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/rim/" rel="tag">RIM</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/symbian/" rel="tag">Symbian</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/02/07/blackberry-application-suite-coming-to-s60-too/">BlackBerry Application Suite coming to S60, too?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sat, 07 Feb 2009 14:43:00 EST. 2008 was, to say the least, a banner year for Windows Mobile hardware. Windows Mobile <em>software</em>... well, that's another story; we're still patiently waiting for the same thorough overhaul we'd hoped for <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2005/12/08/photon-the-next-version-of-windows-mobile/">years ago</a>, but in the meantime, manufacturers have done an absolutely stellar job of taking the platform to its limits and packaging it in ways that could make any smartphone envious. For this first time, VGA screens (and beyond) have come to market en masse, and -- unlike the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/8525">8525s</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/tilt">Tilts</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/mogul">Moguls</a>, and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/xv6800">XV6800s</a> of yesteryear, the latest batch of QWERTY sliders look like they've actually got a lick of intelligent industrial design in their DNA.<br /><br />So these puppies are similar, yes, but they're not the same -- so let's take a quick look at what separates the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/11/02/htc-touch-pro-now-available-for-purchase-online-as-promised/">Sprint Touch Pro</a>, from the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/11/24/htc-touch-pro-breaks-free-on-verizon/">Verizon Touch Pro</a>, from the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/fuze">AT&amp;T Fuze</a>, from the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/x1">Sony Ericsson X1</a> (whew!).<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/fuze-x1-and-a-couple-touch-pros-the-ultimate-winmo-smackdown/">Fuze, X1, and a couple Touch Pros: the ultimate WinMo smackdown</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/fuze-x1-and-a-couple-touch-pros-the-ultimate-winmo-smackdown/#1208234"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadgetmobile.com/media/2008/12/fuze-x1-touch-pro-45_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/fuze-x1-and-a-couple-touch-pros-the-ultimate-winmo-smackdown/#1208245"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadgetmobile.com/media/2008/12/fuze-x1-touch-pro-44_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/fuze-x1-and-a-couple-touch-pros-the-ultimate-winmo-smackdown/#1208244"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadgetmobile.com/media/2008/12/fuze-x1-touch-pro-43_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/fuze-x1-and-a-couple-touch-pros-the-ultimate-winmo-smackdown/#1208233"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadgetmobile.com/media/2008/12/fuze-x1-touch-pro-42_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/fuze-x1-and-a-couple-touch-pros-the-ultimate-winmo-smackdown/#1208258"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadgetmobile.com/media/2008/12/fuze-x1-touch-pro-39_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/12/27/fuze-x1-and-a-couple-touch-pros-the-ultimate-winmo-smackdown/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Fuze, X1, and a couple Touch Pros: the ultimate WinMo smackdown</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/features/" rel="tag">Features</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/htc/" rel="tag">HTC</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/sony-ericsson/" rel="tag">Sony Ericsson</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/atandt/" rel="tag">ATT</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/sprint/" rel="tag">Sprint</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/verizon-wireless/" rel="tag">Verizon Wireless</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gsm/" rel="tag">GSM</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/edge/" rel="tag">EDGE</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/ev-do/" rel="tag">EV-DO</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hsdpa/" rel="tag">HSDPA</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/umts/" rel="tag">UMTS</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/cdma/" rel="tag">CDMA</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/12/27/fuze-x1-and-a-couple-touch-pros-the-ultimate-winmo-smackdown/">Fuze, X1, and a couple Touch Pros: the ultimate WinMo smackdown</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sat, 27 Dec 2008 19:00:00 EST. So HTC is running this wild contest where they're giving away a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Fuze/">Fuze</a> a day for 120 frickin' days -- that's a lot of days and a lot of Fuzes -- and as if that wasn't enough, there'll also be a grand prize winner getting $25,000 in cold, hard cash and four first place winners nabbing $15,000 American Express gift cards. Oh, and both the grand prize and first place prizes include a pair of Fuzes to boot!<br /><br />So hey, we may not have 120 of the things to give away, but HTC was gracious enough to hook us up with a single Fuze to pass on to one of our lovely readers. Would you like it? Here's how it works:<br />
<ul>
    <li><strong>Leave a comment below.</strong> We'll be picking a winner at random. Seriously, just do it.<br /></li>
    <li><strong>You may only enter this specific giveaway once.</strong> If you enter this giveaway more than once you'll be automatically disqualified, etc. (Yes, we have robots that thoroughly check to ensure fairness.)<br /></li>
    <li><strong>If you enter more than once, only activate one comment.</strong> This is pretty self explanatory. Just be careful and you'll be fine.<strong><br /></strong></li>
    <li><strong>Contest is open to anyone in the 50 States, 18 or older! </strong>Sorry, we don't make this rule (we hate excluding anyone), so be mad at our lawyers or US contest laws if you have to be mad.<br /></li>
    <li><strong>Winners will be chosen randomly.</strong></li>
    <li><strong>Entries can be submitted until 11:59PM Eastern Standard Time on December 19, 2008.</strong> After that we're all done. Good luck!</li>
    <li><a href="http://www.engadget.com/official-giveaways-rules/">Full rules can be found here</a>.</li>

The <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Fuze/">Fuze</a> -- which is none other than AT&amp;T's version of the HTC Touch Pro -- has a rather distinct glossy battery cover. Evidently that's not sitting too well with some owners, who'd much prefer the classy matte version that ships on the carrier-free GSM HTC Touch Pro (which is commonly sold in Europe). If you're one of "those people," you'll be elated to know that the cover from the latter slides on the Fuze just fine, but you'll have to lay down upwards of $30 for the change in scenery. Suddenly, glossy doesn't seem so bad, eh?<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://wmpoweruser.com/?p=1830">WMPowerUser</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/peripherals/" rel="tag">Peripherals</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/htc/" rel="tag">HTC</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/12/08/matte-htc-touch-pro-battery-cover-tones-down-vivaciousness-of-ht/">Matte HTC Touch Pro battery cover tones down vivaciousness of HTC Fuze</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 08 Dec 2008 15:52:00 EST. Now that HTC's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Fuze/">Fuze</a> is live on AT&amp;T, a few lucky souls out there have gone ahead and emptied their wallets to make your purchasing decision just a little easier. The Fuze, otherwise known as the HTC Touch Pro, has been carefully photographed and videoed by the WinMo connoisseurs over at <em>WMExperts</em>, and quite candidly, we're simultaneously jealous and impressed with the level of detail here. If you're looking for loads of multimedia to keep you satisfied until you have a chance to score one of your own, the read link has the goods.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/htc/" rel="tag">HTC</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/atandt/" rel="tag">ATT</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gsm/" rel="tag">GSM</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/edge/" rel="tag">EDGE</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hsdpa/" rel="tag">HSDPA</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/11/17/atandt-fuze-gets-extravagant-hands-on-treatment/">AT&amp;T Fuze gets extravagant hands-on treatment</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 17 Nov 2008 08:02:00 EST. Well, that didn't take long -- the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/fuze">HTC Fuze</a> just started <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/11/10/fuze-rears-its-glossy-head-in-some-atandt-stores/">trickling into AT&amp;T retail stores</a>, and now it's available for sale online as well. Just as we'd heard, pricing is <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/11/06/atandt-fuze-hitting-on-november-11-for-299-99/">set at $300</a> after rebate on a two-year contract, which makes the iPhone / BlackBerry Bold / Fuze decision all the more difficult for AT&amp;T customers -- a dilemma we're guessing the suits in Dallas are only too happy to inflict upon the gadget geek masses. Can't be long now, right? First we had <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2008/11/05/atandt-fuze-dummies-popping-up-in-stores/">dummies</a>, but these are the real deal, ladies and gentlemen -- a little over five ounces of HSDPA, VGA, TouchFLO 3D, QWERTY, and likely a bunch more letters and numbers we're not recalling at the moment. Retail <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/tag/fuze">Fuzes</a> are trickling into stores as we speak, though they're apparently going under lock and key; as far as we can tell, none will be sold until AT&amp;T drops the green flag. In the meantime, Sprint, pimp that <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2008/09/10/hands-on-with-sprints-touch-pro/">Touch Pro</a> of yours as hard as you can, because we're afraid your exclusivity is about to end.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/cellphones/" rel="tag">Cellphones</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handhelds/" rel="tag">Handhelds</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/11/10/fuze-rears-its-glossy-head-in-some-atandt-stores/">Fuze rears its glossy head in some AT&amp;T stores</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 10 Nov 2008 17:25:00 EST. If you had any lingering doubt that HTC's US, GSM version of the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/TouchPro/">Touch Pro</a> (AKA the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Fuze/">Fuze</a>) was headed to AT&amp;T in the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/11/06/atandt-fuze-hitting-on-november-11-for-299-99/">near future</a>, you can probably take a deep breath. Thanks to an eagle-eyed tipster, we're now able to view HTC's official page for the device, although it looks like they may not be done with all the coding, as an image of the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Tilt/">Tilt</a> is still being used as a placeholder. There's no mention of release date, though we do learn that the device will sport AT&amp;T's Cellular Video and Mobile Music services, and a "unique AT&amp;T defined 5 row slide out / slide away QWERTY keyboard," which definitely means nothing at all. We figured <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2008/11/05/atandt-fuze-dummies-popping-up-in-stores/">those dummies</a> probably meant something good was about to happen, and sure enough, evidence is building that we're just days away from an official <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/tag/Fuze/">Fuze</a> release. <em>Boy Genius Report</em> has been ever so graciously provided with documentation suggesting that we'll see HTC's latest WinMo greatness on AT&amp;T shelves come November 11 (just a day after the <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2008/11/05/atandt-quickfire-launching-november-10/">Quickfire</a>) for $299.99 after contract and rebate discounts have been applied -- or a solid $499.99 if you want to kick it commitment-free. That pricing is right in line with the <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/tag/Bold/">Bold</a>, making for an interesting, drama-rich showdown heading into the end of the year. We can't help but wonder who these mysterious individuals are who get pre-release gear from carriers and manage -- somehow -- to sneak it onto ginormous, hugely visible auction sites without getting into any hot water. Not to say we're complaining; after all, how else would we have the opportunity to see the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/fuze">Fuze's</a> <strike>retail box</strike> guide book (strangely devoid of AT&amp;T branding) and get a second confirmation that there's going to be a big ol' AT&amp;T logo slapped on the upper right corner of the face? Not to mention that this gives all us peasants the opportunity to scrape up and count the dimes that've collected underneath our couch, hoping beyond hope that we somehow have enough cash to place a bid. We'd been encouraged in <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2008/08/16/htc-touch-pro-turning-into-the-fuze-for-atandt/">previous spy shots</a> that AT&amp;T was intending to keep a clean, brand-free look on the front of the <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/tag/Fuze/">Fuze</a>, but what were we thinking? That'd never sit well with the suits up on the 49th floor of AT&amp;T's headquarters (we just made that up, by the way -- we have no idea how many floors AT&amp;T's headquarters has), and sure enough, the latest batch of shots is showing a big ol' logo slapped on the upper right of the face. The poster says release is currently planned for early November, but we'd say that target is about as solid as one of those Jello rings you make in a bundt mold. We'll believe it when it's on the shelf, as they say.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://wmpoweruser.com/?p=1309">wmpoweruser</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/cellphones/" rel="tag">Cellphones</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handhelds/" rel="tag">Handhelds</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/10/11/latest-spy-shot-shows-atandt-fuze-defaced-with-carriers-logo/">Latest spy shots show AT&amp;T Fuze defaced with carrier's logo</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sat, 11 Oct 2008 13:10:00 EST. Say hello to that very box, which was properly introduced this week by the aforesaid firm. As the title implies, Velocity Micro paired with <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/fuze">Fuze Media Systems</a> in order to create this here HTPC, which features CableCARD support, multi-zone audio, optional Blu-ray burner, Core 2 Duo processor, 4GB of DDR2 RAM, 750GB of storage space, multicard reader, gigabit Ethernet, a whole slew of ports and a FuzeBox MCE remote to boot. Best of all, the system gets going at just $1,995, though speccing it out will get that figure much higher in a hurry.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/media-pcs/" rel="tag">Media PCs</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/others/" rel="tag">Others</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/10/10/velocity-micro-intros-cinemagix-fuzebox-home-media-server/">Velocity Micro intros CineMagix FuzeBox Home Media Server</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Fri, 10 Oct 2008 02:36:00 EST. SanDisk just released a firmware update for the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/sansafuze">Sansa Fuze</a> -- pretty minor, except it adds in support for FLAC and Ogg, which should make fans of jam bands and lossless music encoding extremely happy. Nothing much else of note here apart from some UI tweaks and bug fixes, but Fuze owners will be appreciative, we're sure.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.dapreview.net/news.php?item.4340.2">DAPreview</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/10/04/sansa-fuze-updated-to-support-ogg-and-flac/">Sansa Fuze updated to support Ogg and FLAC</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sat, 04 Oct 2008 17:18:00 EST. It's always good news when some sort of <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/tag/TouchPro/">Touch Pro</a> garners approval from that lovable bureaucracy we call the FCC, but this one has an extra-special place in our hearts: we're pretty sure it's the <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/tag/Fuze/">Fuze</a>. Digging a little deeper into the documentation for the HTC model with code "NM8RPLT" reveals that it's a Raphael, and it sports HSUPA 850 / 1900 -- and if that doesn't dovetail nicely with what we're expecting out of AT&amp;T any day, week, month, or year now, we don't know what does. So tell us, FCC, how are AT&amp;T's customizations to TouchFLO 3D? Tasteful? In a somewhat confusing twist, Fuze Media has just signed an OEM deal that will place its tightly integrated software into an HTPC built by Velocity Micro. If you'll recall, Velocity Micro was actually responsible for the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/06/fuze-media-systems-cedia-booth-tour/">original FuzeBox</a>, though this one will start out "much cheaper" at $1,995. Presumably, the box will feature Fuze's FuzeOne platform, which will reportedly play nice with any machine out there (that's good, since it went OEM and all), utilize its own homegrown media player and simplify DVD ripping / library management. Hit the read link for a blowout of the new architecture and machine, and expect to see more when CEDIA cranks up in about two weeks.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/misc/" rel="tag">Misc</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/media-pcs/" rel="tag">Media PCs</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/other-formats/" rel="tag">Other formats</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/others/" rel="tag">Others</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/22/fuze-infuses-software-into-velocity-micro-fuzebox/">Fuze infuses software into Velocity Micro FuzeBox</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Fri, 22 Aug 2008 10:00:00 EST. We were personally pulling for the "Full Tilt," but WMExperts is citing a tipster that claims <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/11/sketchy-claims-pictures-of-first-atandt-touch-pro-emerge/">AT&amp;T's rendition</a> of the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/touchpro">HTC Touch Pro</a> will end up seeing the light of day as the "Fuze." That name would certainly make sense, because, you know, "Fuze" is a word that evokes ultimate productivity without sacrificing the hip style that today's young mobile professional demands. Whoa, did we just channel a marketing guru, or what? The tip goes on to say that we can expect the QWERTY slider to hit "sooner rather than later," so you might want to hold off on that imminent <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Tilt/">Tilt</a> purchase if you can help it.<br /><br />[Thanks, Malatesta]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/htc/" rel="tag">HTC</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/atandt/" rel="tag">ATT</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gsm/" rel="tag">GSM</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/edge/" rel="tag">EDGE</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hsdpa/" rel="tag">HSDPA</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/umts/" rel="tag">UMTS</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hsupa-1/" rel="tag">HSUPA</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/16/htc-touch-pro-turning-into-the-fuze-for-atandt/">HTC Touch Pro turning into the "Fuze" for AT&amp;T?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sat, 16 Aug 2008 06:12:00 EST. It took 'em long enough, but <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/fuze/">FUZE Media Systems</a> has finally scratched the Blu-ray itch. Reportedly, the firm has just now partnered with ArcSoft to integrate BD compatibility into its whole-home media system. If you'll recall, we just recently learned that FUZE's software would be <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/04/24/fuze-media-systems-software-goes-oem/">going OEM</a>, and sure enough, ArcSoft is the first partner "that will be leveraged in both FUZE Media Systems and OEM partner media devices." Just like that obscure <em>Burt Bacharach</em> album, some DAPs just need a little time to grow on you. Now that SanDisk's comparatively inexpensive <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/fuze/">Sansa Fuze</a> has been out and about for a couple of months, we're imploring you dear readers to cast out your opinions on the minuscule device. Are you satisfied with the interface? Have you been disappointed by the sound quality? Was this thing just one feature away from being perfect? 'Tis a shame SanDisk didn't phone you up before mashing the green button and sending these on their way, but here's your shot to tell all who will listen what could be done better in revision two.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portablevideo/" rel="tag">Portable Video</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/05/16/how-would-you-change-sandisks-sansa-fuze/">How would you change SanDisk's Sansa Fuze?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Fri, 16 May 2008 18:30:00 EST. Don't call it a <strike>comeback</strike> Media Center -- no seriously, don't call it a Media Center, they don't like that, call it "the system that delivers on the promises of Media Center" -- soon you'll be able to get <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/fuze/">FUZE</a>'s media system <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/03/13/fuze-minimizes-its-latest-media-pc-system/">software</a> via other manufacturers. According to CEPro, they're negotiating with "a number of other companies" to put FUZE software on multimedia devices to work with web based audio control, v2 Media Center Extenders and more. Until now the only way to get the company's software into your house is through a custom installer, and it's not giving up that market, but expect a new, broader opportunity to get FUZE Media Systems once the agreements are done later this year.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/media-pcs/" rel="tag">Media PCs</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/other-hardware/" rel="tag">Other hardware</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/others/" rel="tag">Others</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/04/24/fuze-media-systems-software-goes-oem/">FUZE Media Systems software goes OEM</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 24 Apr 2008 09:46:00 EST. So we've had a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/fuze/">SanDisk Sansa Fuze</a> hanging around the office for a few days and already we can tell you that fans of the Sansa line will find it a welcome addition to the line. The interface feels pretty snappy and it's got some of the geeky things you're after (FM radio, microSDHC), a solid 1.9-inch display, and a price $70 cheaper than the nano at the 8GB level. Plus, we know it sounds old school, but we're really into the tactile click wheel, and the Fuze has the best one we've used in a long time. Check out the photos below, including a couple side by sides with a you-know-what.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sandisk-sansa-fuze-hands-on/">SanDisk Sansa Fuze hands-on</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sandisk-sansa-fuze-hands-on/#715780"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2008/03/sandisk-sansa-fuze-hands-on-01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sandisk-sansa-fuze-hands-on/#715787"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2008/03/sandisk-sansa-fuze-hands-on-02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sandisk-sansa-fuze-hands-on/#715788"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2008/03/sandisk-sansa-fuze-hands-on-03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sandisk-sansa-fuze-hands-on/#715781"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2008/03/sandisk-sansa-fuze-hands-on-04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sandisk-sansa-fuze-hands-on/#715783"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2008/03/sandisk-sansa-fuze-hands-on-05-1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portablevideo/" rel="tag">Portable Video</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/03/23/sandisk-sansa-fuze-hands-on/">SanDisk Sansa Fuze hands-on</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sun, 23 Mar 2008 15:07:00 EST. SanDisk just dipped its toe into the digital content distribution waters with the launch of Sansa Sessions. Of course, this isn't an on-line storefront, it's flash-based naturally in support of SanDisk's core business. As such, the US-based program relies upon microSD cards to distribute DRM-free tracks of unspecified quality from more than 50 "emerging artists" on more than 30 labels. At the moment, the featured artists include All Time Low, Ladytron, Magnet, Nada Surf, Of Montreal and The Coup. SanDisk has tied a free, 55 track microSD "sampler" card (of el cheapo 512MB capacity, presumably) to the purchase of its 8GB <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/fuze">Sansa Fuze </a>MP3 player. While the $0 cost and DRM-free aspects of Sansa Sessions are certainly appealing to us, this seems best fitted as a record / artist promotional tool than it does a replacement for web-based or over-the-air music distribution.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/storage/" rel="tag">Storage</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/03/19/sandisk-launches-sansa-sessions-music-distribution-by-microsd/">SanDisk launches Sansa Sessions -- music distribution by microSD, what else</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 19 Mar 2008 07:55:00 EST.
