We know it's a really busy week, but we wanted to take a moment and remind all of you that there's still time left to nominate your favorite gadgets of last year for the 2009 Engadget Awards! For your voting (and nominating) pleasure, we present the sixth annual Engadget Awards! The premise is simple: 2009 may have slipped through our fingers, but all the memories of gadgets-past are still with us (some in a more favorable light than others). Here's your chance to sound off on what you loved in 2009, and tell us what you're psyched about for 2010. This year we've got 24 categories up for grabs, with 48 total awards to be decided. All finalists for Engadget Awards are reader-nominated, and the editors of Engadget will then select the best of those nominations (usually somewhere between 4-6 devices or technologies) as finalists. There are two awards per category, Reader's Choice (voted on by you!), and Editors' Choice (selected by us). The vote will take place in a few weeks once the nominees are picked, and winners will be announced shortly thereafter. You can find all the info and nominees on a landing page we've built this year which should make it easier to get all your selections in (and vote once we've picked the finalists). Just click right here. You've got until 11:59PM ET on Wednesday, January 27th, 2010 to get your entries in. Now, go nominate, or use the handy list after the break!

Welcome to a new feature at DS Fanboy -- where we recap the stories you don't want to miss. Top stories are chosen based on relevance and reader support. For the week beginning Monday, November 6th and ending Sunday, November 12th, Your Week in Nintendo brings you: 5) Elite Beat Agents arrivesAt last, the Elite Beat Agents are here to set things right. It's been one of the year's most anticipated titles, and now we can barely take time away from playing it ... unless, of course, we're talking about it. 4) Two great tastes Just in time for the Wii launch, Nintendo drops a gift from Twilight Princess into Animal Crossing: Wild World, though it won't be revealed until the 17th. 3) The debate rages onThis time, it's not the fanboys arguing about the merits of the DS and the PSP -- it's Sony's Dave Karraker comparing the media hub that is the PSP to Nintendo's handheld gaming system. Who knew being about the games could be so wrong?2) Things are looking good on the DSNew footage from Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker had fans stumped -- it looks so good, some mistook it for a Wii title! It's good to be reminded that it's not all about stylus-based fun with the DS. Nintendo's innovate handheld is powerful, too. 1) Apple v. Nintendo -- fight! Our favorite handheld dukes it out with the MacBook Pro for the title of Time magazine's Gadget of the Year.

In the spirit of races today, we were surprised to see our favorite system included in a long list of fancy gizmos featured in Time Magazine's Gadget of the Year contest. The DS has some pretty tough competition -- Apple MacBook Pro, Palm Trio 700w. Last we checked, the DS was winning with a whopping 59% with the next in line only carrying 27% of the votes. So, we encourage you to vote for your favorite gadget (meaning the DS of course). Wouldn't want the Nintendo mafia knocking on your door .... [Via Joystiq]

You cast your vote today? 'Cause DS Lite could really use your support. Or at least, that's what we thought. The lil' guy appeared out of its league in Time's Gadget of the Year race, but [at the time of this writing] DS Lite is leading the online ballot with 44% of the vote -- 27 percentage points ahead of Apple's MacBook Pro. What looked to be a kindly nod at the Nintendo folks for shaking up the industry, has turned into a virtual landslide. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't vote -- each one counts. So gets to clickin'!
