Of course, here in the US we're sadly on the outside looking in at the launch action going on in 28 countries as a new day dawns for the 29th, but at least there's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/26/samsung-fcc-with-lte/">rumblings</a> that our localized editions aren't far off. In July, its world tour is expected to have swung through 145 countries and 296 carriers. As long as you're looking for a 16GB Marble White quad-core Exynos juggernaut, you should be able to find it right away -- if the machine translated Korean press release (<strong>Update</strong>: English link added) is too tough to bear, remember we've got all the launch details (and a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/25/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-review/">review</a>) right <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/03/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-wrap-up/">here</a>.</p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/28/samsungs-human-centric-galaxy-s-iii-launches-around-the-globe/">Samsung's 'human centric' Galaxy S III launches around the globe, says what delays?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 28 May 2012 23:17:00 EST. Some would-be customers, primarily in Nordic countries but also in Asia-Pacific, Europe and Persian Gulf states, have been told that only the Marble White color will be on shelves at first. Most of the consensus, based on retailer notices, is that demand for blue is straining supply. <span>Samsung Benelux's press lead Vivian Peters told <em>Tweakers.net</em> that </span>at least the Netherlands wouldn't be getting the stealthier color until early June, but didn't confirm a rumor that there had been flaws in the blue plastic backplates that might have triggered shortages. There hasn't been mention of problems for the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/25/psa-samsung-giving-free-olympics-tickets-to-early-galaxy-s-iii-buyers/">heavily-hyped UK launch</a>.</p><p> We reached out to a Samsung spokesman ourselves and were told only that the company "does not comment on rumors or speculation" -- a slightly unusual statement given what Peters said on the record, but it does lead us to take at least the more dire claims with a grain of salt.</p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/25/pebble-blue-samsung-galaxy-s-iii-reportedly-pushed-back-for-some/">Pebble Blue Samsung Galaxy S III reportedly pushed back for some launches</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Fri, 25 May 2012 19:07:00 EST. Samsung wants to give you a little something something for your eagerness: namely, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Olympics/">Olympics</a> tickets. The first 50 who pre-order the giant phone and pick it up at the Westfield Stratford City store on May 29th will get free passes to watch the home team run and leap its way towards a few medals. If you're hoping to claim the reward, though, be prepared to get into the kinds of lines that Samsung skewered in ads just a few months ago. Customers are being asked to show an hour ahead of the 6PM on-sale moment, and the limited slots for ticket winners could easily Samsung repeat its <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/10/12/samsung-crashes-iphone-4s-block-party-lures-aussie-buyers-with/">sale-driven Australian lineups</a> in the northern hemisphere. There's no word yet on whether or not the promo will make the leap to <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/03/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-mobile-pin-store/">Mobile Pin pop-up stores</a>, but we wouldn't be surprised if Samsung spreads the perks around.</p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/25/psa-samsung-giving-free-olympics-tickets-to-early-galaxy-s-iii-buyers/">PSA: Samsung giving free Olympics tickets to early Galaxy S III buyers at London store, hopes you'll vault the queue</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Fri, 25 May 2012 16:41:00 EST. Running Android 2.3 on an 832MHz processor and flashing a 3.5-inch HVGA screen, that dual-SIM capability is the highlight, with Samsung's "Dual SIM always on" feature that forwards calls from the phone number on SIM 2, even if the user is on a call through SIM 1. If we go by what looks to be an escaped Best Buy Canada flyer graphic, Samsung's Android 4.0 beast should be going up for pre-orders soon -- <em>MobileSyrup</em> hears May 30th -- with launches on at least Bell, Rogers, Telus and a Bell-owned Virgin Mobile around June 20th. We know that Samsung has publicly promised a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/03/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-hspa-arriving-in-may-4g-version-hitting-n/">US release in June</a>, so there's a real chance that we could be seeing a simultaneous North American appearance that brings everyone together in TouchWiz harmony. There's still some big questions left open even if we're seeing an accurate snapshot, such as when Mobilicity, Wind and other LTE-less carriers will get their units as well as whether or not the LTE versions <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/15/mystery-samsung-phone-with-snapdragon-s4-pops-up-in-tests/">use Snapdragons</a> instead of the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Exynos4Quad/">Exynos 4 Quad</a>.<br /> <br /> [Thanks, Imdad]</p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/24/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-pops-up-in-best-buy-canada-with-june-20th-date/">Samsung Galaxy S III shows in Best Buy Canada leak due June 20th, maple syrup uncorked to celebrate</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 24 May 2012 19:45:00 EST. Without hard numbers, though, it's difficult not to couch the successes in relative terms: both are using conditional language that makes clear neither record is absolute and that they might be eclipsed by companies with a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/10/10/apple-iphone-4s-pre-orders-exceed-one-million-in-first-24-hours/">knack for building early demand</a>. Even so, that pride in early results suggests the third time is indeed the charm and that Samsung won't have much trouble filling its own <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/03/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-mobile-pin-store/">pop-up stores</a> with customers at the end of the month.</p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/23/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-tops-uk-pre-order-records/">Samsung Galaxy S III tops UK pre-order records, shows that British love their quad-core</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 23 May 2012 21:21:00 EST. That hasn't stopped ABI Research from predicting that enough of the size XXL smartphones will sell to block all natural sunlight. The study team sees phones like the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/15/atandt-galaxy-note-review/">Galaxy Note</a> and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/26/lg-optimus-vu-hands-on-at-mwc-2012/">Optimus Vu</a> as just the start, with help from Huawei, HTC and others leading to a crescendo of 208 million phablets shipped in 2015 alone. Of course, as with many of these predictions, the estimate is based on a little bit of knowledge and a lot of speculation about the market's tastes: the researchers have a hunch that the values of navigation, reading and the web will steer us to big screens, and they're including devices just over 4.6 inches like the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/01/htc-one-x-for-att-review/">One X</a> or the upcoming <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/03/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-preview-hands-on/">Galaxy S III</a>. There's a bit of evidence to support the claims -- Samsung sold <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/03/27/samsung-ships-five-million-galaxy-notes-in-just-five-months/">five million Notes in five months</a>, and HTC has seen some <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/16/kantar-says-windows-phone-clawing-back-share-thanks-to-nokia/">brisk One X sales</a> -- but that's still no guarantee that regular-sized smartphones will have to fight in the shade.</p><p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/23/phablets-shipments-to-hit-208-million-a-year-in-2015/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>ABI: Galaxy Note and other phablets will ship at 208 million a year by 2015, blot out the sun</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/23/phablets-shipments-to-hit-208-million-a-year-in-2015/">ABI: Galaxy Note and other phablets will ship at 208 million a year by 2015, blot out the sun</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 23 May 2012 18:22:00 EST. A Samsung <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/SGHT999/">SGH-T999</a> has popped up at the agency sporting newly added 1,700MHz AWS support that's the telltale sign of a T-Mobile device, along with the T999 name itself (the T989 is the network's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/10/11/t-mobile-samsung-galaxy-s-ii-review/">Galaxy S II</a>). It also totes 850MHz and 1,900MHz WCDMA bands being used for HSPA+ data rather than just voice, a clue that the phone is ready for <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/07/t-mobile-4g-lte-hspa-42-bobsled/">refarmed GSM spectrum</a>. Just in case there was any remaining doubt, we've further spotted a related T999V entry at the Bluetooth SIG with a rather <a href="http://www.engadget.com/event/samsung-mobile-unpacked-2012">familiar-looking</a> image as well as a Samsung-hosted T999 user agent profile on the web that matches what we know about the Android 4.0 hardware. We have yet to get a look at whether or not the T-Mobile version is any different on the outside, but with the FCC's help, there's not much left to know before the expected <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/03/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-hspa-arriving-in-may-4g-version-hitting-n/">summer US launch</a>.</p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/18/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-for-t-mobile-hits-fcc/">Samsung Galaxy S III for T-Mobile hits FCC, brings future-proofed HSPA+ for good measure</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Fri, 18 May 2012 20:14:00 EST. According to the <i>Korea Economic Daily</i>, an unnamed Samsung executive revealed that the followup to its previous <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/07/03/samsungs-galaxy-s-ii-becomes-companys-quickest-selling-phone/">fastest selling phone</a> has already racked up nine million pre-orders around the world. That would put it nearly halfway to the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/23/samsung-galaxy-s-ii-20-million/">20 million Galaxy S II's </a>Samsung reported shipped back in February, and all without even officially moving a unit in the US yet. It's not that we're jealous of the rest of the world's abilities to lay their cash down for some <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/03/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-is-official/">quad-core Exynos action</a> while we wait to hear about the likely (still awesome) <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/15/mystery-samsung-phone-with-snapdragon-s4-pops-up-in-tests/">dual-core LTE-equipped US carrier variants</a> due this <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/03/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-us-sign-up-page/">summer</a>, but yes -- we're jealous the rest of the world already has the option of choosing Samsung's latest flagship phone. Once they do start shipping (assuming there's no delays in <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/15/htc-one-x-and-evo-4g-lte-delayed-at-customs-due-to-itc-exclusio/">customs</a>) there should be plenty to go around however, as <i>Reuters'</i> translation also indicates the company's factory is already cranking out five million units every month.</p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/17/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-nine-million-preorders/">Samsung's Galaxy S III reportedly notches nine million pre-orders worldwide</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 17 May 2012 23:27:00 EST. And while this move implies that the company's pocketable compacts could be doomed, that's simply not the case. We spoke with Reid Sullivan, Samsung's Senior Vice President of Mobile Entertainment, who reinforced the company's continuing commitment to developing and manufacturing point-and-shoot models -- in short, pocketable cameras remain a focus for the company, which simply made manufacturing adjustments to accommodate an anticipated increase in demand for recently-launched NX20, NX210 and NX1000. Point-and-shoots, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/10/samsungs-point-and-shoot-departure/">for better or worse</a>, are here to stay, and Sullivan explained that while we're unlikely to see new sub-$100 cameras make their debut, there's plenty in the works on the SMART front, with new launches in store for upcoming events like Photokina and CES. Whether there will continue to be demand for point-and-shoots remains to be seen, and while consumers are clearly turning to smartphones for casual shooting, Samsung appears to be in no hurry to abandon the point-and-shoot form-factor.</p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/17/samsung-camera-production-shift/">Samsung clarifies camera production shift, confirms commitment to point-and-shoot models</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 17 May 2012 13:57:00 EST. Worry not, though, as T-Mobile's joined the pre-order race and is now ready to swap your cash for a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/SamsungGalaxySIII/">spanking-new Galaxy</a> slab. Per usual -- at least across the pond -- you're likely to find a deal that's perfectly suited for you, with T-Mobile UK pricing the device as low &pound;10.50 per month (<span>&pound;300 up front) </span>and as high as &pound;41 with the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/01/30/t-mobile-launches-truly-umlimited-full-monty-contract-wants-t/">Full Monty</a> on a 24-month deal -- of course, there's a plethora of different bundles to choose from. The carrier's site does note that if you order the goods now, unlike those lucky folks <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/16/galaxy-s-iii-early-release-date/">getting it on the 29th</a>, delivery here is set for sometime after May 30th.</p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/17/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-pre-order-t-mobile-uk/">Samsung Galaxy S III now available for pre-order on T-Mobile UK</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 17 May 2012 12:50:00 EST. However you slice it, there's a lot of Android devices out there. <em>OpenSignalMaps</em> has tracked a staggering 3,997 unique phones, tablets and other Google-powered gadgets, and has put them into a chart weighted by popularity. Not surprisingly, it's powerhouses like Samsung's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/04/28/samsung-galaxy-s-ii-review/">Galaxy S II</a> and HTC's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Desire/">Desire</a> line that dictate the platform, while that Concorde Tab you bought in Hungary sadly doesn't have much traction. The normally signal mapping-oriented crew is careful to warn that the actual variety might be less: there's 1,363 one-timers in the group, and some of those may be custom ROMs and the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/08/30/galaxy-s-ii-finally-lands-on-american-shores-for-sprint-t-mobil/">endless carrier-specific variants</a> that OEMs are sometimes eager to make. There's even more to look at through the source, including Android 2.3's continuing dominance and the mind-boggling number of Android screen resolutions, so click ahead for an even fuller picture.</p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/16/visualized-android-device-diversity/">Visualized: Android's device diversity cut up into 3,997 little pieces</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 16 May 2012 17:41:00 EST. We should all be familiar with the ICS <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/10/18/android-4-0-ice-cream-sandwich-now-official/">feature set</a> by now, as well as Samsung's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/12/15/touchwizzed-ice-cream-sandwich-leaks-for-samsung-galaxy-s-ii/">TouchWiz alterations</a>. The news was spotted on Samsung's Korean site, but we wouldn't be surprised to see the new software popping up on devices elsewhere shortly (AT&amp;T's Skyrocket already saw a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/03/26/ics-upgrade-leaks-for-att-skyrocket/">leaked update in March</a>). According to a tweet from the company, it's still working on an update for the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/09/26/samsung-announces-galaxy-s-ii-lte-and-galaxy-s-ii-hd-lte-handset/">LTE's 720p-screened HD cousin</a> (although we hear <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/14/tizen-gets-play-time-on-samsung-galaxy-s-ii-hd-lte-shows-off-ne/">Tizen already works great</a>), but you can hit the source link for more information.</p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/15/samsung-galaxy-s-ii-lte-ice-cream-sandwich-update-finally-arrive/">Samsung Galaxy S II LTE Ice Cream Sandwich update finally arrives, GSII HD LTE keeps waiting</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 15 May 2012 05:27:00 EST. One of what looks to be a growing number of escaped pre-release devices was put through the ringer in battery tests and came out looking spic-and-span: it lasted for just over 10 hours for video and voice, or long enough to make even a tablet like the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/03/16/apple-ipad-review-2012/">new iPad</a> or <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/12/01/asus-eee-pad-transformer-prime-review/">Transformer Prime</a> break a sweat. Web browsing wasn't quite so hot, though, which at a bit over five hours was well behind the seven hours of an <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/10/14/iphone-4s-review/">iPhone 4S</a>. Don't expect the seemingly infinite battery of the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/01/31/motorola-droid-razr-maxx-review/">Droid RAZR Maxx</a>, and don't be surprised if final devices handle differently, but those with the international Galaxy S III should make it through at least a few interminable meetings watching their favorite reruns... not that we'd condone such a thing.</p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/14/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-battery-tested/">Samsung Galaxy S III battery tested by GSMArena, lasts as long as your tablet</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 14 May 2012 09:11:00 EST. A few more have now started to appear on pre-order, including, yes, another stylus. This is the C-Pen and it's different from both the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/spen/">S-Pen</a> and the stylus we used with Samsung's sketch-friendly <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/28/a-closer-look-at-the-samsung-galaxy-note-10-1-video/">tablet</a>. Aside from these press shots courtesy of <em>Mobile Fun</em>, specifics remain a little light -- we're not even sure what the C stands for, but we'd hazard a guess at "creative", possibly "chrome"? It's joined by a substantial &pound;80 (or around $128) WiFi display hub, a battery-charging holster for the phone (&pound;35, around &pound;56) and the previously seen Galaxy S III flip cover (&pound;30, around $48). The company's flagship point-and-shoot, the 14-megapixel <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/01/09/samsung-unveils-four-wifi-enabled-shooters-smart/">WB150F</a>, boasts <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/12/samsung-galaxy-player-4-2-remote-viewfinder-hands-on-video/">built-in WiFi</a> at the very top of its feature shortlist. In fact, until you make your way to the third (and only) capture-related detail (an 18x optical zoom lens), you'd be hard-pressed to distinguish the dedicated device from some of Samsung's other camera-equipped offerings. With its latest generation of "Smart Cameras," the company moved to further bridge the gap between its gamut of portable devices, by bringing key smartphone features to its digital imaging line.</p><p></p><p> As it turns out, the move was simply a crutch -- an opportunity to refresh models with technologies in which the company has already made significant investments. And it appears to have resulted in only a slight delay of the inevitable. We now know <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/10/samsung-mirrorless-cameras/">what to expect</a> for Samsung's point-and-shoots -- pocketable models will step aside to make room for <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/19/samsung-nx20-nx210-nx1000-mirrorless-camera-hands-on/">NX-series interchangeable lens cameras</a>, and compact fans will continue to turn to <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/03/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-preview-hands-on/">Galaxy all-on-ones</a> for their <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/03/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-camera-features/">on-the-go shooting needs</a>. Join us past the break for a closer look at how the move could impact the industry, and what the future may hold for the (formerly) beloved point-and-shoot.</p><p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/10/samsungs-point-and-shoot-departure/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Does Samsung's point-and-shoot departure mark an industry-wide shift to mobile?</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/10/samsungs-point-and-shoot-departure/">Does Samsung's point-and-shoot departure mark an industry-wide shift to mobile?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 10 May 2012 11:47:00 EST. Don't fret, as virtually every Canadian carrier and its mother has now pledged to carry the giant <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Android40/">Android 4.0</a> smartphone while you're on your summer vacation -- the first carrier commitments in North America that we've seen. Bell, Rogers, Telus, Virgin Mobile and Wind Mobile have all stepped up as national providers, while regional carriers such as SaskTel and Videotron have also signed on. The Galaxy S III is a special milestone for Virgin, as it's the first <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/4GLTE/">4G LTE</a> phone on the Bell-run budget network. We're still waiting for Mobilicity and other cellular services to hop on the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/event/samsung-mobile-unpacked-2012">Galaxy S III bandwagon</a>, and details like pricing and exact ship dates are still elusive, but odds are that Canucks will have a wide choice of carriers when the 4.8-inch flagship hits stores. <strong>Update</strong><strong>:</strong> Sure enough, Mobilicity is also onboard, which along with Wind Mobile makes it pretty clear that T-Mobile-friendly <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/AWS/">AWS</a> frequencies are baked in.</p><p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/07/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-canadian-carriers/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Samsung Galaxy S III gets a Canadian girlfriend as Bell, Rogers, Telus, Wind Mobile line up</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/07/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-canadian-carriers/">Samsung Galaxy S III gets a Canadian girlfriend as Bell, Rogers, Telus, Wind Mobile line up</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 07 May 2012 14:42:00 EST. A total of 17 phones are part of the first wave getting the official A-OK. Some of these are known quantities already using PayPass, like the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/20/lg-viper-4g-lte-review/">LG Viper 4G LTE </a>and the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/11/24/galaxy-nexus-hspa-review/">Samsung Galaxy Nexus HSPA+</a>, but others are new to the PayPass ways. Among the picks are the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/01/htc-one-x-for-att-review/">HTC One X</a>, Intel's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/01/10/intel-demos-medfield-based-smartphone-reference-design-at-ces-v/">smartphone reference device</a> and the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/11/nfc-version-of-nokia-lumia-610/">Nokia Lumia 610 NFC</a>. A raft of <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/01/18/rim-turkcell-bring-nfc-payments-to-turkey/">BlackBerrys</a> and lower-end Samsung Galaxy phones are likewise in the fray. While only a handful of these might ever work with <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/google+wallet">Google Wallet</a> or other US-focused NFC payment methods, you can check out the full roster in the release after the break.</p><p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/03/mastercard-paypass-ready-certifies-17-phones/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>MasterCard gives PayPass blessings to HTC One X, 16 other NFC phones</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/03/mastercard-paypass-ready-certifies-17-phones/">MasterCard gives PayPass blessings to HTC One X, 16 other NFC phones</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 03 May 2012 22:56:00 EST. You can <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Galaxy+S+III">follow us</a>, of course, but Samsung has you covered with a sign-up page that will take your vitals with promises that you'll "<span>get the latest on the Next Galaxy." Samsung has run identical sign-up campaigns in the US before, and it focused the initial <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/09/30/atandt-samsung-galaxy-s-ii-review/">Galaxy S II</a> launch on <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/08/30/galaxy-s-ii-finally-lands-on-american-shores-for-sprint-t-mobil/">three major carriers</a> rather than carpet bombing every network at once.<br /> <br /> [Thanks, Michael]</p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/03/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-us-sign-up-page/">Samsung Galaxy S III US sign-up page goes live</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 03 May 2012 21:08:00 EST. As <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/16/samsung-will-unveil-the-next-galaxy-phone-may-3rd-in-london/">Earl's Court</a> in London echoes with the hollow sound of empty plastic champagne flutes and half-eaten canapes, the rest of the tech world gives a sigh of relief. The Samsung Galaxy S III is here. Was it what you expected? If you haven't yet decided, don't worry, we've got you covered. After all the months of anticipation, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/22/samsung-countdown-teases-next-galaxy-phone-with-anagram/">cryptic clues</a> and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/23/samsungs-new-galaxy-phone-gets-official-teaser-video/">teasing</a> it's understandable that you might be feel a little bit spent. That's why we're going to carry you over the finish line, by providing you with a fireman's lift of all things GS3. We've collected together all the links to tonight's main stories, along with a little reminder of the route we took to get here. So forget about the post-party hangover for now, and do the walk of shame past the break for the round-up.</p><p></p><p></p><p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/03/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-wrap-up/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Samsung Galaxy S III wrap-up</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/03/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-wrap-up/">Samsung Galaxy S III wrap-up</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 03 May 2012 18:30:00 EST. The company will be opening Mobile Pin locations, or glass-housed pop-up stores, to help showcase its <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/03/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-preview-hands-on/">new flagship phone</a>. We had a chance to look at examples of the stores first-hand. Those not at the launch event will get a look in the near future, with Mobile Pins appearing at several locations throughout London. The first Pins will open on May 29th, with the Pin 5 (a 5-by-5 meter indoor location) making temporary appearances at Spitalfields Market, Westfield and White City, while the 7-by-7 outdoor version (Pin 7) will pop up in the Olympic Park along with Hyde Park at a later date this year. Samsung is also planning to introduce the Pin concept abroad, with plans for two US cities currently in the works, along with a yet-unnamed country in Asia -- Korea would be our guess. We've got a gallery and video walkthrough below to explore the locations in more detail.</p><p> <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsungs-pin-pop-up-stores-revealed-at-samsung-mobile-unboxed-2012/">Samsung's pin pop-up stores revealed at Samsung Mobile Unboxed 2012</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsungs-pin-pop-up-stores-revealed-at-samsung-mobile-unboxed-2012/#5002199"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/05/gggscreendsc03672mat800_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsungs-pin-pop-up-stores-revealed-at-samsung-mobile-unboxed-2012/#5002200"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/05/gggscreendsc03671mat800_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsungs-pin-pop-up-stores-revealed-at-samsung-mobile-unboxed-2012/#5002201"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/05/gggscreendsc03669mat800_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsungs-pin-pop-up-stores-revealed-at-samsung-mobile-unboxed-2012/#5002202"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/05/gggscreendsc03670mat800_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsungs-pin-pop-up-stores-revealed-at-samsung-mobile-unboxed-2012/#5002203"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/05/gggscreendsc03668mat800_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div></p><p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/03/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-mobile-pin-store/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Samsung Galaxy S III to be sold in Mobile Pin pop-up stores (updated with video)</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/03/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-mobile-pin-store/">Samsung Galaxy S III to be sold in Mobile Pin pop-up stores (updated with video)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 03 May 2012 15:26:00 EST. Here's some trivia: that 4.8-inch display is 22 percent bigger than the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/04/28/samsung-galaxy-s-ii-review/">Galaxy S II</a>'s, but its overall dimensions only grew by 16 percent. Instead, its camera's strengths are in its intelligent organization and social features, increasing the handset's appeal as a point-and-shoot alternative for casual photographers. Samsung's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/01/09/samsung-unveils-four-wifi-enabled-shooters-smart/">latest round of compacts</a> and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/19/samsung-nx20-nx210-nx1000/">mirrorless dedicated snappers</a> reaffirm suspicions that the company is taking a different approach to photography, focusing on connectivity and social enhancements, rather than updated sensor and low-light shooting technologies. While such decisions may prompt advanced shooters to bring their business to competitors, it highlights Samsung's strengths on a broader level, as a connectivity enabler, rather than a camera maker.</p><p> The company is clearly committed to growing its ecosystem and uniting product divisions in an effort to increase penetration throughout different categories, developing sharing tools that simplify workflows and increase appeal. Samsung's latest flagship smartphone packs standard specs, like 8-megapixel stills and 1080p video, but it offers a handful of software features that combine to make the device a compelling upgrade, especially from an imaging perspective. Join us past the break as we detail the Galaxy S III's photography enhancements, from Best Photo to Face Zoom.</p><p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/03/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-camera-features/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Samsung Galaxy S III focuses on photography sharing features, not cutting-edge optics</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/03/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-camera-features/">Samsung Galaxy S III focuses on photography sharing features, not cutting-edge optics</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 03 May 2012 14:01:00 EST. It's just about time for Samsung to <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/24/samsung-unpacked-event-mobile-app-galaxy-s3/">name a successor</a> to the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/23/samsung-galaxy-s-ii-20-million/">massively popular smartphone</a>, live at the company's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/22/samsung-countdown-teases-next-galaxy-phone-with-anagram/">Mobile Unpacked</a> event at the Earls Court Olympic venue. We'll surely see a brand new mainstream handset make its debut, but what's not quite as clear is what other gadgets Samsung plans to show off in London. With defined divisions, the Korean device maker's "Mobile Unpacked" event title implies that Android phones will steal the show, so it's unlikely that we'll see an updated Tab or two. We have 24 hours and change to find out for sure, however, so bookmark <strong><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/03/samsung-mobile-unpacked-liveblog/">this page</a></strong> to stay abreast of the news as it happens in our liveblog. We can do that. "Already in production the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/23/samsung-demos-new-32nm-quad-core-exynos-ahead-of-mwc/">Exynos 4 Quad</a> is scheduled to be adopted first into Samsung's next Galaxy smartphone that will officially be announced in May," the horse's mouth reveals. Samsung boasts that the new 32nm 1.4GHz quad-core processor flaunts twice the processing power over <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/10/01/samsung-releases-1-5ghz-exynos-processor-and-16mp-cmos-for-mobil/">its predecessor</a>, thanks to its High-K Metal Gate (HKMG) low-power technology. The net energy savings? About 20-percent. "The application processor is a crucial element in providing our customers with a PC-like experience on mobile devices," explains Hankil Yoon, Senior VP of Product Strategy Team at Samsung, "Samsung's next Galaxy device, which will be officially announced soon, offers uncompromised performance and ground breaking multitasking features, thanks to Exynos 4 Quad's powerful performance and efficient energy management technology." Sammy says it's shopping the new processor around to other handset manufacturers (like <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/15/meizu-mx-quad-core-launch-android-4-0/">Meizu</a>), noting that the Exynos 4 Quad is pin-to-pin compatible with the Exynos 4 Dual (the brains behind the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/04/28/samsung-galaxy-s-ii-review/">Galaxy S II</a> and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/10/28/samsung-galaxy-note-review/">Note</a>), which gives designers the ability to update product designs with minimal costs. The <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/12/16/verizon-galaxy-nexus-review/"><i>other</i></a> CDMA / LTE-infused <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/16/sprint-confirms-galaxy-nexus-release-date-coming-april-22nd-for/">Galaxy Nexus</a> is now shipping from Sprint, several months ahead of its <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/03/30/sprint-lte-coverage-plans/">first LTE rollout</a>. $199.99 on a two-year contract nets you a device, while you can snag one for $549.99 sans any strings. It's also available in stores nationwide for those who'd prefer to try before they buy, and yes, Sprint users who activate a Google Wallet account within a week of activation will receive a $10 instant credit and an additional $40 within three weeks. Just try to ignore that <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/20/galaxy-s-iii-leak/">Galaxy S III</a> that'll launch next month, okay? We've had plenty of reason to believe that it'd simply be the third iteration of the famed Galaxy S line, and even an Amazon Germany page <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/20/amazon-germany-leaks-galaxy-s-iii-specs/">predicting</a> as much, but it's another thing entirely to see the term "Galaxy S3" used by Samsung itself. Indeed, that's exactly what's happening with the release of its Mobile Unpacked 2012 app, which will allow prospective users to stream the event as it happens in London on May 3rd, while also gathering facts and figures once the event passes. Whether or not the whole <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/20/galaxy-s-iii-leak/">GSIII</a> thing sticks remains to be seen, but if you're curious, we'll also be on hand to liveblog every revealing second of it.</p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/24/samsung-unpacked-event-mobile-app-galaxy-s3/">Samsung's Unpacked Mobile 2012 app outs 'Galaxy S3' as next smartphone's name</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 24 Apr 2012 01:40:00 EST. Other than the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/16/samsung-will-unveil-the-next-galaxy-phone-may-3rd-in-london/">event invite</a> Sammy sent out last week and a recent <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/23/samsungs-new-galaxy-phone-gets-official-teaser-video/">video teaser</a>, official info on the handset's been hard to come by. However, Vodafone's just put up a page indicating the carrier will, indeed, get the new superphone and is letting you register for updates on its status. So, we now know at least <em>one</em> carrier that'll have the handset, the question is who else is in line to get the Galaxy?</p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/23/vodafone-first-carrier-confirmed-to-carry-new-samsung-galaxy-phone/">Vodafone first carrier to jump on the new Samsung Galaxy phone bandwagon</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 23 Apr 2012 12:47:00 EST. More recently, Sprint's variant of the Samsung <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/11/24/galaxy-nexus-hspa-review/">Galaxy Nexus</a> was spotted <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/03/15/sprint-galaxy-nexus-fcc/">coasting</a> through the FCC, and now it's practically a lock to launch between three and six weeks from now. We've received word that Sprint has initiated employee training specifically for the Galaxy Nexus and Android 4.0, which will enlighten staff on the benefits of the handset, ICS and Google Wallet. Those involved with the training have to wrap things up within the next fortnight, leading us to believe that it'll make its way into retail outlets in late April or early May. In related news, the coursework also makes mention of enabling LTE on a heretofore unannounced "LG Fury" -- <em>presumably</em> not to be confused with the similarly titled handset <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/03/09/zte-fury-coming-to-sprint-on-march-11/">from ZTE</a>. Unfortunately, details beyond the name on that guy are nowhere to be found, but we'll be digging for more in the days ahead.</p><p> <strong>Update</strong>: We've since stumbled upon a full slide deck of the training guide, and while there's nothing <em>too</em> surprising here, we are seeing that early units will ship with LTE <strong>turned off by default</strong>, though the company will change that at an undetermined time in the future. Call us crazy, but it sounds like Sprint may start hawking these prior to its LTE network being fully active. <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sprint-galaxy-nexus-leaked-training-guide/">Sprint Galaxy Nexus leaked training guide</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sprint-galaxy-nexus-leaked-training-guide/#4938118"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/04/sprintgalaxynexusslides1-1333491691_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sprint-galaxy-nexus-leaked-training-guide/#4938121"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/04/sprintgalaxynexusslides32-1333491692_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sprint-galaxy-nexus-leaked-training-guide/#4938122"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/04/sprintgalaxynexusslides4-1333491694_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sprint-galaxy-nexus-leaked-training-guide/#4938123"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/04/sprintgalaxynexusslides5-1333491695_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sprint-galaxy-nexus-leaked-training-guide/#4938124"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/04/sprintgalaxynexusslides2-1333491697_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div></p><p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/03/sprint-galaxy-nexus-lg-fury-lte-leak/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Sprint begins employee training for Galaxy Nexus, launch looks imminent</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/03/sprint-galaxy-nexus-lg-fury-lte-leak/">Sprint begins employee training for Galaxy Nexus, launch looks imminent</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 03 Apr 2012 18:00:00 EST. What if your real home was in space? What if you had a camera<i> engineered specifically to capture the beauty of the night sky</i>? You do. Canon has just outed the proper successor to the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2005/02/14/the-canon-eos-20da/">EOS 20Da</a>, with the 60Da "catering to astronomers and hobbyists" who'd rather spend their clicks on galaxies than flowers and Earthlings. According to Canon, there's a "modified infrared filter and a low-noise sensor with heightened hydrogen-alpha sensitivity" -- something that presumably means the world to astronomers. In more understandable terms, it's packing an 18-megapixel CMOS sensor (APS-C), a 3-inch Clear View LCD (you know, the flip-out kind), a nine-point autofocus system and TV-out support. The Silent Shooting feature that we already praised on the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/classic/www.engadget.com/2012/03/22/canon-eos-5d-mark-iii-review/">EOS 5D Mark III</a> is here as well, as is a native ISO ceiling of 6,400 and an expandable range that reaches 12,800. Canon also throws in its RA-E3 remote controller adapter -- a vital accessory for those looking to shoot timed exposures greater than 30 seconds -- as well as an AC adapter kit for those all-night sessions. It'll hit select dealers later this month for $1,499, and no, this is not a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/01/april-fools-day-roundup-the-big-toys-the-small-toys-and-the-c/">joke</a>. <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/canon-eos-60da-dslr-press-photos/">Canon EOS 60Da DSLR press photos</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/canon-eos-60da-dslr-press-photos/#4936136"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/04/canon-eos-60da5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/canon-eos-60da-dslr-press-photos/#4936137"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/04/canon-eos-60da4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/canon-eos-60da-dslr-press-photos/#4936138"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/04/canon-eos-60da3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/canon-eos-60da-dslr-press-photos/#4936139"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/04/canon-eos-60da2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/canon-eos-60da-dslr-press-photos/#4936140"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/04/canon-eos-60da1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/03/canon-eos-60da-dslr-astronomy-night-shooting-price-release-date/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Canon EOS 60Da: the DSLR for that astrophotographer in your life</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/03/canon-eos-60da-dslr-astronomy-night-shooting-price-release-date/">Canon EOS 60Da: the DSLR for that astrophotographer in your life</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 03 Apr 2012 00:32:00 EST. Worry no more, as Sammy's got a solution for you. Aside from the eyelash-flashing bit included in the upgrade, Samsung's Product Planning Team says they've also added Photo Editor, Beta Font, Snapshot and a novel S Go Launcher Pro. It has a 5.3-inch screen and now, just five months since it debuted Samsung has announced it's shipped five million units (the<a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/12/29/1-million-galaxy-notes-shipped-worldwide-us-fans-throw-money-at/"> one million</a> mark was crossed right around the end of December). That's certainly long enough for you to decide if you're in love with its super-sized frame or the accompanying S-Pen stylus, but unfortunately it has not been quite enough time for the highly-anticipated Ice Cream Sandwich software update to be released. While the world waits for the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/03/22/galaxy-note-ics-upgrade-pushed-back-to-q2-adds-exclusive-set-of/">Premium Suite of apps and Android 4.0</a>, let's think back to all the good times we had, including its <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/09/01/samsung-galaxy-note-official-5-3-inch-super-amoled-display-s/">initial unveiling</a>, our <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/10/28/samsung-galaxy-note-review/">original review</a> and finally its <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/15/atandt-galaxy-note-review/">arrival in the US on AT&amp;T</a>. So, are you convinced yet that there's a place in the world for a device like this, or five million phablets later are you still thinking this is just a fad?<br /><br /><strong>Update</strong>: If you prefer to use your stylus for kanji or kana, <em>Engadget Japan</em> has NTT Docomo's announcement that it will release the Galaxy Note with LTE, branded the SC-05D, on its network April 6th.<br /><br />[Thanks, ph00ny]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/03/27/samsung-ships-five-million-galaxy-notes-in-just-five-months/">Samsung ships five million Galaxy Notes in just five months</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 27 Mar 2012 23:28:00 EST. We didn't get a chance to check the systems out in Vegas, but today the company's spilling the details regarding US pricing on a trio of systems, all of which will be available in the spring. The star of the show is the $800 DA-E750 Audio Dock, featuring the rear-mounted dual dock for Galaxy (charging only) and iOS devices we first <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/03/06/samsungs-galaxy-s-and-iphone-compatible-speaker-docks-eyes-on/">saw last month</a>. Clad in a polished wood case (available in black or cherry), the 2.1 stereo system pumps out up to 100 watts of power through its glass fiber speakers and tweeters. As an added touch, its JJ Electronics 12AU7 tubes (the same you could use for guitar amps) are sunken in from its top under glass, allowing for clear view of their glow. Best of all, aside from the requisite USB and 3.5mm inputs, the DA-870 works wirelessly with Samsung's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/allshare%20play/">AllShare Play</a>, AirPlay and Bluetooth 3.0 w/ aptX.<br /><br />Moving past the HiFi category, Samsung's also priced a duo of surround sound systems aimed at the home theater market. To start, there's the $1,000 HT-E6730W Blu-ray 3D 7.1 home theater system and its $800 5.1 sibling, the HT-E6500W Blu-ray 3D -- both of which feature the same tube pre-amp and similar wireless capabilities as the DA-E750. Notably, the E6730W features a tiltable top speaker on each of its stereo towers, allowing for a more personalized output depending on your room. Furthermore, if you happen to have a DA-E750, too, you'll be able to stream the audio via Bluetooth if you find yourself far away from your television. There's no exact date on when you'll be able snag any of them, but Samsung notes that the 5.1 system is currently shipping.<br /><br /><strong>Update:</strong> You'll find a press release with all the drool-inducing details after the break.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsungs-premium-speaker-lineup/">Samsung's premium speaker lineup</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsungs-premium-speaker-lineup/#4922239"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/03/-3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsungs-premium-speaker-lineup/#4922240"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/03/-2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsungs-premium-speaker-lineup/#4922241"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/03/-1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/03/27/samsungs-vacuum-tube-driven-speaker-lineup-gets-priced-for-us/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Samsung's vacuum tube driven speaker lineup gets priced for US, available this spring (update)</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/03/27/samsungs-vacuum-tube-driven-speaker-lineup-gets-priced-for-us/">Samsung's vacuum tube driven speaker lineup gets priced for US, available this spring (update)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 27 Mar 2012 20:19:00 EST. That said, Samsung already <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/03/22/galaxy-note-ics-upgrade-pushed-back-to-q2-adds-exclusive-set-of/">promised</a> that its polarizing <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/15/atandt-galaxy-note-review/">Galaxy Note</a> would be grabbing ICS in the second quarter of this year, and it looks as if the company's designers already have an inkling as to what that'll look like. Shown here at Samsung Mobile USA's official Facebook portal, we have one Galaxy Note sporting Ice Cream Sandwich, but there's no fuss made about (officially, anyway) in the description below. We'd probably still hope for late Q2 based on history, but perhaps the update really is closer to seeing the light of day than we'd been led to believe.<br /><br />[Thanks, Binyamin]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/03/27/samsung-galaxy-note-ice-cream-sandwich-leak-facebook/">Samsung's own Facebook page shows Galaxy Note wearing Ice Cream Sandwich</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 27 Mar 2012 09:18:00 EST.
