SOE has plucked Oliver Queen from the mean streets of Star City and plunked him down in DC Universe Online's Legends PvP mode. That's right, you can now fight as Green Arrow and if you're keeping score at home, this release marks the first time a bow user has been made available for Legends play. You can see Green Arrow in action via a recent SOE livestream that we've embedded past the cut. [Source: SOE press release]

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment issued a new trailer for Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham today, which shows a few of the big-name voice actors talking about their involvement in the Lego superhero game. As previously announced, Conan O'Brien will be a playable character in the game, joining the likes of film director Kevin Smith and Arrow's Stephen Amell, the latter reprising his role as Green Arrow. Lego Batman 3 will launch on November 11 for a whole mess of platforms: PS4, PS3, Vita, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC, Wii U and 3DS. Players will be able to pick up the game's $14.99 season pass that guarantees access to six DLC add-ons. It will also be packed in to its own $270 PS3 bundle at launch. NetherRealm's barrage of Injustice: Gods Among Us footage continues unabated, with these newest clips showcasing a few of the characters' alternate costumes. We're quite fond of Pseudo-Military Superman and Realistic Armor Batman, but we're starting to lose hope for a Clean Shavin' Green Arrow.

It's time once again for NetherRealm Studios' weekly infusion of Injustice: Gods Among Us fight tapes, this time featuring all-American legend Superman, creepy Craigslist birthday party magician Sinestro, reincarnation poster child Hawkgirl and facial hair enthusiast Green Arrow. The most important part of either of these videos isn't the fact that Green Arrow has some decidedly Sub-Zero moves going on, or that Sinestro's slender torso makes us uncomfortable, but rather that the Clash system is still in place. First seen at E3 last year, the Clash system was in danger of being scrapped altogether last August, though it seems NetherRealm was able to make the system work.

The latest combatant confirmed for NetherRealm's Injustice: Gods Among Us is Green Arrow, billionaire Oliver Queen by day and bow-and-arrow-wielding superhero by night. Green Arrow is a core member of DC's Justice League outfit, so his inclusion in Gods Among Us makes sense. Also, there's a new TV show about the character coming soon so the timing there is pretty impeccable. Synergy! As you can see in the trailer, his bow comes in handy during battle – it allows him to continue juggle combos and in one sequence, he even uses it to freeze Nightwing. We're also shown some of the touted stage interactivity as Green Arrow pulls down a steam vent to daze The Flash.%Gallery-168042%

  • The Perfect Ten: Why Elves are the scourge of MMOs

Astute readers of Massively or my personal blog Bio Break are probably quite familiar with my blatant prejudice against all things Elf. I hate Elves and everything for which they stand. And nowhere does this hatred blossom more brightly than in the fertile fields of MMOs. As the axiom goes, where there is fantasy, there are Elves. Blame J.R.R. Tolkien for popularizing a race of what used to be cookie and Santa helpers. Almost overnight Elves became in vogue in geek culture, and efforts to root them out with flamethrowers have been in vain. Any fantasy MMO that is announced is required, by some arcane law that can only be broken with the blood of a virgin god, to include Elves as a racial choice -- or, if the developers are feeling particularly sadistic, more than one choice. Wood, night, blood, dark, light, mystical -- take your pick. There are plenty of Elves for everyone! Well, I'm not having it. Elves don't get a free pass on my watch, and I'm not afraid to stand up to the powerful Pro-Elf lobby and nail my 10 theses as to why Elves suck on the doors of this blog. Consider your pointy ears on notice, you woodland freaks -- the jig is up!

SOE have released oodles of concept art and screenshots for The Green Arrow in DC Universe Online. In case you didn't know, he's green and uh, well he shoots arrows. He's also known as Oliver Jonas "Ollie" Queen and was originally created by Mort Weisinger and George Papp back in 1941.He may not be Batman or Superman, but Ollie can toss punches with the best of 'em. Plus, he's a crack shot who can land an arrow directly between your eyes at unprecedented ranges. Plus, and we're sure some of you will find this amusing, he's a billionaire and former mayor.%Gallery-34118%%Gallery-50201%
