What we're watching: My beloved Michigan State University Spartans take on the Notre Dame Irishmen this afternoon in high definition on NBC at 3:30. Don't miss it! It's going to be quite the match up, though I'm saddened to see the oddsmakers think Notre Dame has a five-point edge. Here are some other HDTV programs showing on selected networks today, all in Eastern time:ABC: Armageddon (8 p.m.)NBC: Michigan State University at Notre Dame (3:30 p.m.), Law & Order (10 p.m.)ESPN-HD: College Football: Florida State vs. Boston College (7:45 p.m.), SportsCenter (11 p.m.)ESPN 2-HD: NHRA (4 p.m.), NCAA Football: Wisconsin at N.C.        What we're watching and why:  What is it about "Smallville"? It seems to be on every network at every time. Anyhow, it's on HDNet tonight at 8. But HDNet Movies has Dirty Harry's "Sudden Impact" at 8, followed by "Gladiator" at 10. If that's not enough high-def entertainment, ESPN-HD has a college football game, Central Florida at South Carolina, at 7:30.
