When Steve Jobs first pulled the original MacBook Air out of a manilla envelope in 2008, the tech world dropped its collective jaw. A laptop that could fit in such a small package? Groundbreaking. With a three-pound weight and tapered silhouette that narrowed to just 0.16 inches at its thinnest point, the Air mesmerized reviewers. At $1,799, it was insanely expensive and its battery life was poor, but it was still lauded as a game changer.

When Huawei unveiled its first true laptop barely a year ago, it was a slightly more useful MacBook lookalike. While the MateBook X looked a lot like Apple's device, it offered some minor changes that alleviated common grievances, including the MacBook's solo USB-C port and its barely-there key travel. At MWC this year, Huawei is unveiling the next generation of the series, called the MateBook X Pro. It's a larger, more powerful notebook with a better display and impressive audio tech, but one quirky new feature could prevent it from being a good option for professionals.

We were reasonably impressed with Huawei's first bold foray into the Windows 10 notebook market, the Matebook X. Partially because it's a dead ringer for Apple's 12-inch MacBook and partially because Huawei's machine improved on it in a few key ways (like adding a second USB-C port. Whoa). A month after our first look, we're getting price points for the 13-inch notebook. The machine will be available for pre-order June 30th. $1,100 nabs you an Intel Core i5-powered version with 256GB of space in space gray or you can shell out $200 more for a slightly faster Intel Core i7-loaded model with 512GB of storage in prestige gold.

Hot on the heels of Microsoft announcing the Surface Laptop, Huawei is ready to unveil its first real Windows 10 notebook. It's called the MateBook X, and it might remind you of Apple's 12-inch MacBook. In fact, the resemblance is so striking that I could barely tell the two apart without glancing at their logos. Although it looks very similar to Apple's diminutive laptop, the MateBook actually has a few important (and useful) differences.
