Panasonic MW-20 is a digital photo frame, iPhone / iPod touch stereo, and money burner all in one
If you're the sort who fancies a digital picture frame and a stereo dock for your iPhone, Panasonic's new MW-20 might just be the thing to converge and satiate those needs. The 9-inch frame can display pictures via SD card, 2GB internal memory, or an iPhone / iPod touch via the bundled dock -- and if you've got the device connected, you can also play music video via the frame's internal stereo speakers (there's no indication of any audio out for using your own speaker system, however). Additionally, the MW-10 successor has a touted 15 different display patterns, including some calendar and clock functionality. Pictures taken with a Lumix camera? The MW-20 has a function that'll group photos by style (i.e. all nighttime scenery). Look for it during your haze of Christmas shopping in late November for -- and here's the part that's gonna sting -- just one dollar shy of $250. Don't say we didn't warn you. iLuv's iMM190 App Station dock rolls into availability
It's a bit later than the originally promised February release date, but iLuv has just announced that its iMM190 App Station iPhone / iPod touch dock is now available for $89.99. As we saw first-hand at CES, this one stands out from pack of iPhone / iPod docks somewhat by employing a custom iLuv app, which the company says will be frequently updated with new features. Of course, you can also use any other app you like (in both portrait or landscape mode), and the device will charge your iPhone or iPod touch just like any other dock, as well as accommodate other audio devices via its line-in jack -- no bed shaking with this one, though.
Sirius XM readying SkyDock iPhone / iPod touch accessory and more?
Sirius XM itself may not be dropping many hints just yet (unless you count that iPhone app), but rumors are building that the company is set to make a big push into iPhone / iPod touch territory at an event next week, where it's reportedly set to introduce a slew of new hardware. The standout piece is a so-called "XM SkyDock," which XMFan.com describes as a dock for your iPhone or iPod touch that effectively turns it into a full-fledged satellite radio. Details on it are otherwise still fairly light, as you might expect, but the dock will apparently make use of a new type of power cord that uses your vehicle's wiring as an FM transmitter wire, and will reportedly sell for less than $100. Other new devices supposedly on tap include a new color-screen XM Radio with that same new power cord that'll sell for $80, and a new XM signal repeater that operates in the 900MHz spectrum and will apparently replace the current Delphi repeater.
