O2 seems to like LG's KP501 Cookie so much that its decided to offer it in white with shiny metallic accents in the Pay as you go realm. Pricing is listed as £99 (roughly $140) and for that money you'll get stuff like a 400 x 240 touchscreen display, a 3.2 megapixel sharpshooter, Bluetooth, FM radio, and so forth. Sound like it's too good to be true? Well, it isn't, though, you'll need to sit and wait a tick as this guy is listed as "coming soon" to shops and the O2 online store.

LG's Cookie -- which is more formally know as the KP501 -- has just arrived in two more hues on Europe's most colorful carrier. If black just wasn't doing it for you, the touchscreen handset (which obviously resembles the KP500 in more ways than one) is now listed as "Coming Soon" in pink and silver. If you believe Orange's press release, though, it should be available now in stores for £99.99 ($142) on a pay-as-you-go contract and just £15 ($21) with a two-year agreement.

LG's KP500 looked attractive enough under imperfect lighting conditions, but just in case an in the wild gallery wasn't enough to satisfy your curiosity, Daily Mobile has found the time to give the touchscreen-based handset a proper unboxing. We didn't spot anything out of the ordinary (no aliens or Easter Eggs, for instance), but we were delightfully reminded of just how slim this bugger is. Have a look yourself in the read link.

We knew it wouldn't be too long before LG's recently unwrapped KP500 got caught under the lens, and sure enough, Le Journal du Geek has done the honors by hosting up a handful of splendid hands-on shots. The phone looks satisfactorily slim, heavy on the touchscreen and pretty beautiful overall. But hey, that's just our opinion -- feel free to form your own after giving the read link a once over.

  • LG introduces "attractively-priced" KP500, doesn't say how attractive

Got touchscreen envy but don't have the pair of Benjamins required to get yourself into a celly without a keypad? LG has a solution: the KP500, a nearly button-less and stylus-bearing handset that sounds rather like another recent cheap smartphone. LG's not giving many details about this one beyond its 3-inch display, a 3 megapixel camera, motion sensor, and availability in black, brown, silver, or gold (though based on the pic above we'd stay away from that last one). There's a short video of the TouchFLO-like UI to whet your appetite just below, but that's all we have to share until this phone hits Europe in a month, with a worldwide release to come afterward.[Via Unwired View]
