It's an Orochi, but with 100 percent more gloss. Typically, a new hue on an old critter wouldn't do much for us, but given that Razer's oh-so-diminutive Orochi still remains <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/10/14/razer-orochi-now-shipping-in-limited-quantities-we-go-hands-on/">our favorite travel mouse</a> to date (for gaming, at least), we couldn't help but notice the striking young fellow above. The Orochi Black Chrome Edition is the exact same mouse that shipped last fall, but with a much more vivacious set of duds. Aside from being fully capable of sneaking into either of your front pockets, this Bluetooth-enabled unit also touts an ambidextrous design, a 4000DPI laser sensor (with tracking at up to 100 inches per second), on-the-fly sensitivity adjustments and a gold-plated USB connector for those who'd prefer to roll wired. If you've been looking to treat yourself, she's in stock now for $79.99.<br />

When we first got wind of Etsy seller Digitalsoaps in early 2009, she had but a humble <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/02/18/nes-soap-wont-help-you-rescue-the-princess-may-help-you-get-a/">NES gamepad</a> and a couple of other controllers to her name -- fast forward to today, and you'll find the bubbly entrepreneur doing a brisk business in all sorts of wonderfully geeky soap shapes. This $10 <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/10/14/razer-orochi-now-shipping-in-limited-quantities-we-go-hands-on/">Razer Orochi</a> mouse is the latest, and as you can see it's close enough to the real thing to trick your buds at the next LAN party. Sadly, this particular soap is a limited-time offer -- and moving fast -- but the seller also deals in a painstakingly detailed Xbox 360 controller, caffeinated shampoo soda bottles, and sudsy replicas of any classic Nintendo cartridge you care to name. <p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/12/10/razer-orochi-crafted-from-oil-and-glycerin-scrubs-your-bod-betw/">Razer Orochi crafted from oil and glycerin, scrubs your bod between frag sessions</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Fri, 10 Dec 2010 16:32:00 EST. Razer already provides full Mac support for a few of its gaming peripherals -- including the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/naga">Naga</a> and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/DeathAdder">DeathAdder</a> -- and basic support for others, but it's now taken avantage of GDC to "reaffirm" its commitment to Mac users. That apparently means that "all upcoming" Razer products -- including the company's line of StarCraft II peripherals -- will boast full Mac support out of the box, and that the company will be rolling out updates to some of its existing products "later this year," including the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Orochi">Orochi</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/mamba">Mamba</a>, and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Imperator">Imperator</a> gaming mice. First <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/03/08/valve-confirms-steam-for-mac-debuts-in-april/">Steam</a>, now Razer peripherals -- dare we say it's a good time to be a Mac gamer?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/03/10/razer-promises-mac-support-for-all-upcoming-products/">Razer promises Mac support for all upcoming products</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 10 Mar 2010 16:37:00 EST. Remember when <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Razer/">Razer</a> introduced its first-ever mobile gaming mouse? No worries -- July was indeed a long, long time ago. At any rate, the Bluetooth 2.0 / USB <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/07/23/razer-intros-orochi-portable-bluetooth-gaming-mouse-fancy-kabut/">Orochi</a>, which was engineered to fit within knapsacks and backpacks of road warriors the world over, is now shipping to both US and EU customers... on a limited basis, anyway. Razer claims that stock is arriving in spurts, and if you're greeted with a "sold out" message, there's a special sign-up page to be notified of when the next batch comes in. So, why the fuss? <br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/razer-orochi-now-shipping-in-limited-quantities-we-go-hands-on/">Razer Orochi now shipping in limited quantities, we go hands-on</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/razer-orochi-now-shipping-in-limited-quantities-we-go-hands-on/#2363749"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/10/razer-orochi-mouse-hands-on_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/razer-orochi-now-shipping-in-limited-quantities-we-go-hands-on/#2363750"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/10/razer-orochi-mouse-hands-on-(1)_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/razer-orochi-now-shipping-in-limited-quantities-we-go-hands-on/#2363751"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/10/razer-orochi-mouse-hands-on-(2)_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/razer-orochi-now-shipping-in-limited-quantities-we-go-hands-on/#2363725"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/10/razer-orochi-hands-on-(1)_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/razer-orochi-now-shipping-in-limited-quantities-we-go-hands-on/#2363734"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/10/razer-orochi-hands-on-(10)_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/10/14/razer-orochi-now-shipping-in-limited-quantities-we-go-hands-on/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Razer Orochi now shipping in limited quantities, we go hands-on</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/peripherals/" rel="tag">Peripherals</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/10/14/razer-orochi-now-shipping-in-limited-quantities-we-go-hands-on/">Razer Orochi now shipping in limited quantities, we go hands-on</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 14 Oct 2009 10:19:00 EST. It's been a few months since the reptile fanatics over at <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Razer/">Razer</a> dished out a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/03/22/razer-mamba-wired-wireless-gaming-mouse-impressions/">new input peripheral</a>, but the wait for yet another ends today with the introduction of the ambidextrous Orochi ($79.99; ships mid-August). Rather than shooting for the desktop gamer, the company is aiming squarely at the laptop crowd with its freshest portable Bluetooth laser mouse, which is the first to offer a 4,000dpi Razer Precision 3G laser sensor and dual-mode wired / wireless functionality. There's also seven programmable buttons, Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity and on-board memory for setting up performance profiles. In related news, the outfit is also issuing a new gaming surface in the Razer Kabuto, an ultrathin, ultra-soft mat that's probably nice, but not quite $19.99 nice.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/razer-intros-orochi-portable-bluetooth-gaming-mouse-fancy-kabuto-surface/">Razer intros Orochi portable Bluetooth gaming mouse, fancy Kabuto surface</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/razer-intros-orochi-portable-bluetooth-gaming-mouse-fancy-kabuto-surface/#2161583"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/07/mini-rzr_kabuto_angledb_blkbg.bmp_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/razer-intros-orochi-portable-bluetooth-gaming-mouse-fancy-kabuto-surface/#2161584"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/07/mini-rzr_kabuto_angledb_whtbg.bmp_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/razer-intros-orochi-portable-bluetooth-gaming-mouse-fancy-kabuto-surface/#2161582"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/07/mini-rzr_kabuto_angled_blkbg.bmp_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/razer-intros-orochi-portable-bluetooth-gaming-mouse-fancy-kabuto-surface/#2161598"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/07/mini-rzr_kabuto_angled_whtbg.bmp_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/razer-intros-orochi-portable-bluetooth-gaming-mouse-fancy-kabuto-surface/#2161585"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/07/mini-rzr_kabuto_base_blkbg.bmp_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/peripherals/" rel="tag">Peripherals</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/07/23/razer-intros-orochi-portable-bluetooth-gaming-mouse-fancy-kabut/">Razer intros Orochi portable Bluetooth gaming mouse, fancy Kabuto surface</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 23 Jul 2009 14:11:00 EST.
