If you'll recall, we first heard a notion that <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Canon/">Canon</a> was <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/01/26/canon-prepping-60d-and-550d-600d-with-articulating-displays/">considering</a> a 60D and 550D with articulating displays way back in January; <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/PMA/">PMA</a> came and went, and no such camera emerged. But now we're back in familiar territory, and this go 'round we've got <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/IFA/">IFA</a> and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Photokina/">Photokina</a> happening next month in Germany. The image above is bruited to be the 60D we've all been waiting for, and while it's usually easy to brush these off as possible fan renders (or worse, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/07/05/engadgets-photoshops-a-retrospective/">Photoshops</a>), that display hinge looks mighty legitimate. Nikon hasn't seen fit to take the articulating LCD on its entry-level <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/04/28/nikon-d5000-review-head-to-head-with-d90/">D5000</a> to any higher-end units just yet, but if Canon goes ahead with this one... well, we all know how competition works, now don't we?<br />

We didn't exactly get the best look at Sony's new <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/21/sony-alpha-ultra-compact-concept-hands-off-leaves-much-to-the-i/">ultra-compact concept camera</a> at PMA last month, but the company is now thankfully starting to reveal a few more details about the "DSLR quality" camera. Still nothing in the way of specs or an actual working camera, of course, but Sony has provided a few screenshots of the camera's menu system that at least provide a few tidbits of information. Most notably, it seems that the camera will employ a touchscreen interface, with most of the main controls handled by a menu on the side of the screen, and it looks like the camera will have a RAW + JPEG shooting mode, which should no doubt please more serious photographers. Hit up the link below for a few more screenshots.<br />

We had a great time in Anaheim this past weekend checking out the Photo Marketing Association's trade show spectacle. Hundreds of cameras and thousands of pictures later, we're finally back and getting settled. Let's take a look back at all that we saw this week, and then kind of wrap up a few loose ends. <br />

Photo viewers have <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/10/22/epson-adds-tethering-remote-shutter-release-to-p-6000-and-p-700/">been around</a> for centuries (give or take <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/09/28/sanho-introduces-hyperdrive-colorspace-udma-photo-backup-drive/">a few score</a>), but few have offered the capacity and speed found on the HyperDrive Album. Produced by none other than Sanho -- the same dudes and dudettes responsible for those spectacular <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/04/hypermac-external-battery-powers-macbooks-for-32-hours/">HyperMac batteries</a> -- this here device is essentially a 640GB pocket hard drive meant to suck down photos from your SD or CF card (it plays nice with both formats) as you shoot; it can either lighten the load on your memory card or act as on-site backup, and it's reportedly capable of downloading 2GB per minute with full data verification. Better still, it's capable of decoding and displaying RAW images on the 4.8-inch display (800 x 480 resolution), and the internal battery will last through 200GB worth of transfers. It's available now for $599.99 (or less if you opt for a smaller / empty model), but don't even bother if you're looking for <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/SDXC/">SDXC</a> compatibility.<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/24/sanho-crams-640gb-of-memories-into-your-pocket-with-hyperdrive-a/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Sanho crams 640GB of memories into your pocket with HyperDrive Album photo viewer</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/24/sanho-crams-640gb-of-memories-into-your-pocket-with-hyperdrive-a/">Sanho crams 640GB of memories into your pocket with HyperDrive Album photo viewer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 24 Feb 2010 18:22:00 EST. What, it wouldn't be a camera convention without Nikon (and everyone else, for that matter) showing off a basket of new point-and-shoots. We knew what the company was bringing -- selections from its <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/02/nikon-kicks-out-new-s-and-l-series-cams/">"Style" and "Life" series</a>, as well as the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/21/nikon-coolpix-p100-and-its-articulating-display-hands-on/">P100 superzoom</a> we covered earlier this week -- and now we've gotten our hands on the L22, S4000, L110, and S8000. There isn't much to say, frankly -- a collection of pocket shooters of various feature sets and various price ranges to cater to various demographics and psychographics. Still, we know you need to get that "fix" when it comes to pictures of gadgets, so let's get on with it, shall we? <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/nokia-l22-s4000-l110-and-s8000-hands-on/">Nikon L22, S4000, L110, and S8000 hands-on</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/nokia-l22-s4000-l110-and-s8000-hands-on/#2735906"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/nikon-pma-roundup-2010-02-2116-18-43-rm-eng-1266958250_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/nokia-l22-s4000-l110-and-s8000-hands-on/#2735908"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/nikon-pma-roundup-2010-02-2116-18-50-rm-eng-1266958257_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/nokia-l22-s4000-l110-and-s8000-hands-on/#2735909"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/nikon-pma-roundup-2010-02-2116-19-24-rm-eng-1266958265_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/nokia-l22-s4000-l110-and-s8000-hands-on/#2735910"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/nikon-pma-roundup-2010-02-2116-19-32-rm-eng-1266958271_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/nokia-l22-s4000-l110-and-s8000-hands-on/#2735911"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/nikon-pma-roundup-2010-02-2116-19-42-rm-eng-1266958278_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/23/nikon-coolpix-style-and-life-series-hands-on/">Nikon CoolPix 'Style' and 'Life' series hands-on</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 23 Feb 2010 18:31:00 EST. Still no word on price, but Sigma's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/21/sigmas-new-dp2s-dp1x-and-sd15-shooters-could-make-you-poor-wit/">recently-announced DP2s, DP1x, and SD15</a> cameras were on hand at PMA, just out of reach of our greasy hands. A shame, really, but at least we managed to at least stand in the trinity's presence, right? Perhaps more interesting comes from the mouth of Chief Operating Officer Kazuto Yamaki, who in an interview with <em>Digital Photography Review</em> predicts that zoom lenses are in the future for mirrorless camera systems -- which, for those not hip to his jive, apparently include Olympus' and Panasonic's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/MicroFourThirds/">Micro Four Thirds</a> shooters, Samsung's "hybrid DSLR" <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/NX10/">NX10</a>, and quite possibly <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/21/sony-intros-alpha-dslr-concepts-micro-four-thirds-model-include/">Sony's new Alpha compact concept</a>. Color us intrigued, but as Yamaki noted, it's all a matter of whether or not the market picks up. Let's hope -- those cameras featured above? Closer shots below. <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sigma-dp2s-dp1x-and-sd15-hands-on/">Sigma DP2s, DP1x, and SD15 hands-on</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sigma-dp2s-dp1x-and-sd15-hands-on/#2733504"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/sigma-pma-2010-02-2120-14-27-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sigma-dp2s-dp1x-and-sd15-hands-on/#2733505"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/sigma-pma-2010-02-2120-14-32-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sigma-dp2s-dp1x-and-sd15-hands-on/#2733506"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/sigma-pma-2010-02-2120-14-36-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sigma-dp2s-dp1x-and-sd15-hands-on/#2733509"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/sigma-pma-2010-02-2120-14-38-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/22/sigma-trio-espied-at-pma-coo-expresses-interest-in-supporting/">Sigma trio espied at PMA, COO expresses interest in supporting 'mirrorless camera systems'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 22 Feb 2010 21:57:00 EST. Samsung's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/20/samsungs-pma-gifts-hd-pocket-camcorders-point-and-shoots-with/">curvaceous HMX-U20</a> was on display at <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/PMA/">PMA</a>, but unfortunately one of its key selling points -- the optical 3x zoom -- was not working on the floor model.The picture itself was hard to see from the small LCD, so for now we're just gonna comment on the shape, which though unique and purported to be more ergonomic, to us seems like it'd be a pain in the pockets (of course, they didn't let us pocket it to find out, but we digress...). Also at the show were the waterproof AQ100 and scratch-resistant SL605, but unlike <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/22/sonys-ultra-durable-dsc-tx5-hands-on-ice-ice-baby/">Sony's frosty setup</a>, these weren't touchable. Don't let that stop you from enjoying the pictures below -- and don't forget our earlier hands-on impressions <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/21/samsung-tl500-and-tl350-hands-on/">of the TL350 and TL500</a>! <br />

Keep it simple, stupid. There's no better way to describe the "Create by Jason Wu" collection unveiled at <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/pma2010">PMA</a> by General Imaging (a.k.a. <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/GE/">GE</a>). The fashion designer's point and shoot could not be easier: you can shoot, choose flash, and view galleries. That's it -- and in fact, if you need a cue, the shooter reminds you to "hold still" while taking a shot. You're definitely picking this up for style over substance, but still it's pleasantly light and captures surprisingly decent images. As for the nitty-gritty specs, we're looking at 12 megapixels, 3x optical zoom, and a 2.7-inch LCD. The battery charges via wall adapter or the retractible USB plug, which is also how you movie images to your computer of choice. Color options? White, black, gold, red, yellow, blue, green for a metal finish; and white, black and grey for leather. A 4GB version is $180, and 8GB is $230 -- no memory cards accepted here, folks. Look for the camera to debut, of all places, via Home Shopping Network on March 16th. <div style="text-align: left;">Last we saw Casio's GPS-equipped <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/01/12/casio-ex-10hg-hybrid-gps-prototype-taps-into-accelerometers-fo/">EX-10HG</a> it was still in prototype form at CES, but the company was back with it again at PMA this week, and thankfully was a bit more talkative this time. The big news is that the camera will be available in October of this year, and will cost "around $400." That will get you a 12.1-megapixel camera that not only does geotagging of photos (with some accelerometer-based assistance when a GPS signal isn't available), but can even double as a navigation system in a pinch -- although it's still not exactly clear how fully functional that aspect of the camera will be.</div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/22/casios-gps-equipped-ex-10hg-camera-gets-a-price-launch-date/">Casio's GPS-equipped EX-10HG camera gets a price, launch date</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 22 Feb 2010 16:22:00 EST. Hey kids, wanna see your golf drive Sam Raimi style, i.e. from the perspective the club itself? It wouldn't be with the fanciest of cameras, and we're sure wind resistance would throw you off your game, but we are curious if Joby's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/18/joby-demonstrates-brilliance-with-gorillapod-magnetic-flexible-t/">Gorillapod Magnetic</a> would be able to hold tight. The flexible little tripod's tips certainly give it a surprisingly strong pull -- a shame it only holds 11 ounces, else we'd be putting our DSLRs in some crazy and unreasonable spots. Want one now? You're in luck -- it's on sale over at Joby's website for a pile of change less than $25. <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/joby-gorillapod-magnetic-flexible-tripod-hands-on/">Joby Gorillapod Magnetic flexible tripod hands-on</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/joby-gorillapod-magnetic-flexible-tripod-hands-on/#2730481"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/joby-magnets-2010-02-2120-37-54-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/joby-gorillapod-magnetic-flexible-tripod-hands-on/#2730482"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/joby-magnets-2010-02-2120-38-04-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/joby-gorillapod-magnetic-flexible-tripod-hands-on/#2730483"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/joby-magnets-2010-02-2120-38-19-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/joby-gorillapod-magnetic-flexible-tripod-hands-on/#2730484"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/joby-magnets-2010-02-2120-39-40-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/joby-gorillapod-magnetic-flexible-tripod-hands-on/#2730485"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/joby-magnets-2010-02-2120-39-54-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/22/joby-gorillapod-magnetic-flexible-tripod-hands-on/">Joby Gorillapod Magnetic flexible tripod hands-on</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 22 Feb 2010 05:52:00 EST. Now here's how to show off a durable camera. While a number of companies we've seen at <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/PMA/">PMA</a> had non-interactive displays to exemplify just how waterproof their shooters were, Sony went one step further and put a pair of its <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/18/sonys-dsc-tx5-is-waterproof-freeze-proof-dust-proof-and-head/">DSC-TX5</a> in a <em>block of ice</em>. Yes, we could pick this one up and play with it -- as well as another pair that were submerged in water of milder temperatures -- and from our time with the camera, there was no fogginess and the shots were very clear for its class -- no replacement for a DSLR, but it's certainly easier to fit in our pocket while falling down the ski slopes (and capturing our failures in 720p, should we choose to publish the embarrassment). Also spotted? The DSC-H55, but <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/01/06/sony-cyber-shots-go-bananas-with-gps-compass-sd-card-hd-vid/">with the</a> <a href="http://es.engadget.com/2010/01/07/sony-dsc-hx5v-una-compacta-muy-completa-con-la-que-no-perderte/">HX5V</a> just around the corner and sporting a similar form factor <em>plus </em>GPS and TransferJet, we're having a hard time getting too excited about that one. <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sony-dsc-tx5-hands-on/">Sony DSC-TX5 hands-on</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sony-dsc-tx5-hands-on/#2730273"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/sony-tx5-2010-02-2116-05-58-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sony-dsc-tx5-hands-on/#2730274"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/sony-tx5-2010-02-2116-06-20-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sony-dsc-tx5-hands-on/#2730275"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/sony-tx5-2010-02-2116-06-25-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sony-dsc-tx5-hands-on/#2730276"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/sony-tx5-2010-02-2116-06-40-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sony-dsc-tx5-hands-on/#2730278"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/sony-tx5-2010-02-2116-06-44-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div> <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sony-dsc-h55-hands-on/">Sony DSC-H55 hands-on</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sony-dsc-h55-hands-on/#2730322"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/sony-h55-2010-02-2117-57-19-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sony-dsc-h55-hands-on/#2730323"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/sony-h55-2010-02-2117-57-40-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sony-dsc-h55-hands-on/#2730324"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/sony-h55-2010-02-2117-57-46-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sony-dsc-h55-hands-on/#2730325"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/sony-h55-2010-02-2117-57-57-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sony-dsc-h55-hands-on/#2730326"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/sony-h55-2010-02-2117-58-04-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/22/sonys-ultra-durable-dsc-tx5-hands-on-ice-ice-baby/">Sony's ultra-durable DSC-TX5 hands-on: ice, ice, baby</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 22 Feb 2010 02:39:00 EST. Samsung's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/20/samsungs-pma-gifts-hd-pocket-camcorders-point-and-shoots-with/">TL500</a>. We caught the bright, bulky beast bristling at <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/PMA/">PMA</a> in front of a miniature 3D model of the Taj Mahal enclosed within a shadowy cube. The articulating display was indeed quite luminous, and as you can see from the sample shot, the flash-imbued capture is quite nice -- same can't be said sans flash in this instance, though. As for the TL350, we're always a fan of the analog dials for battery and storage, and the 1,000 frames per second video recording was quite the treat. That said, at 138 x 78 resolution, it's not practical, but the in-between burst shoots do lend themselves to some fun party tricks. Hardware shots just below, TL500 sample shot after the break. <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-tl500-hands-on/">Samsung TL500 hands-on</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-tl500-hands-on/#2729654"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/pma-sam-tl500-2010-02-2118-03-01-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-tl500-hands-on/#2729655"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/pma-sam-tl500-2010-02-2118-03-08-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-tl500-hands-on/#2729656"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/pma-sam-tl500-2010-02-2118-03-17-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-tl500-hands-on/#2729658"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/pma-sam-tl500-2010-02-2118-03-41-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-tl500-hands-on/#2729659"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/pma-sam-tl500-2010-02-2118-03-58-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div> <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-tl350-hands-on/">Samsung TL350 hands-on</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-tl350-hands-on/#2729670"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/pma-sam-tl350-2010-02-2118-13-37-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-tl350-hands-on/#2729671"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/pma-sam-tl350-2010-02-2118-13-44-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-tl350-hands-on/#2729672"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/pma-sam-tl350-2010-02-2118-14-05-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-tl350-hands-on/#2729673"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/pma-sam-tl350-2010-02-2118-14-35-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-tl350-hands-on/#2729674"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/pma-sam-tl350-2010-02-2118-14-44-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/21/samsung-tl500-and-tl350-hands-on/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Samsung TL500 and TL350 hands-on</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/21/samsung-tl500-and-tl350-hands-on/">Samsung TL500 and TL350 hands-on</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sun, 21 Feb 2010 18:24:00 EST. <div style="text-align: left;">We've already seen Pentax <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/10/pentax-teases-new-dslr-645-digital-finally-making-its-debut/">tease a few new cameras</a> ahead of PMA, and it looks like another pair have now slipped out at the last minute. That includes the rugged W90 which, among other things, packs a ring of LEDs around the lens to help with close-up shots, and should hold up against even the nastiest conditions (as Pentax has gone out of its way to demonstrate in the photo above). Joining it is the 12.1-megapixel Pentax X90, which is a bit less compact and not weatherproof, but packs a 26x optical zoom in a DSLR-esque body, among other as yet unspecified specs. Still no word on pricing or availability, but Pentax should be getting official with these any day now.</div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/21/pentaxs-rugged-w90-ultra-zoom-x90-now-all-but-official/">Pentax's rugged W90, ultra-zoom X90 now all but official</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sun, 21 Feb 2010 17:26:00 EST. Turns out Nikon's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/18/nikons-1080p-coolpix-p100-superzoom-up-for-pre-order-shipping/">CoolPix P100</a> is quite a beaut, and our brief time taking snapshots with the compact superzoom at <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/PMA/">PMA </a>yielded some pretty good pics with relative ease -- guess Ashton's onto something, after all, if you're not looking for something pocketable. Also of note is the incredibly sturdy articulating display, a great value-add to the $400 piece. Check out more glamor shots below. <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/nikon-coolpix-p100-hands-on/">Nikon CoolPix P100 hands-on</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/nikon-coolpix-p100-hands-on/#2729448"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/pma-nikon-p100-2010-02-2116-26-08-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/nikon-coolpix-p100-hands-on/#2729450"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/pma-nikon-p100-2010-02-2116-26-20-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/nikon-coolpix-p100-hands-on/#2729451"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/pma-nikon-p100-2010-02-2116-26-39-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/nikon-coolpix-p100-hands-on/#2729452"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/pma-nikon-p100-2010-02-2116-26-50-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/nikon-coolpix-p100-hands-on/#2729453"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/pma-nikon-p100-2010-02-2116-26-56-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/21/nikon-coolpix-p100-and-its-articulating-display-hands-on/">Nikon CoolPix P100 (and its articulating display) hands-on</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sun, 21 Feb 2010 16:43:00 EST. We'd love nothing more than to extol the merits of <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/21/sony-intros-alpha-dslr-concepts-micro-four-thirds-model-include/">Sony's Alpha ultra-compact concept</a> with an interchangeable lens -- which bears a striking resemblance at face value to Olympus and Panasonic's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/MicroFourThirds/">Micro Four Thirds</a> standard -- but alas, the little device is hidden behind glass. Furthermore, all the Sony reps we managed to corner wouldn't answer our questions. Will the lenses be interchangeable with Sony's current Alpha DSLR line, or any of the MFT lenses? What's been cut from traditional Four Thirds models to accommodate for the drop in size? Radio silence, save for a repeat of this morning's information and a finger point to the adjacent "
<meta charset="utf-8">Exmor APS HD CMOS" sign -- which, as we know from this morning, is larger than a Four Thirds sensor, but we're not sure how much. Still, enjoy the pics we managed to take from behind the glass -- and also be sure to enjoy the shots of this morning's other Sony announcements, the
<meta charset="utf-8">Super Telephoto Lens (500mm F4 G) and the prototype Distagon T 24mm F2 ZA SSM. <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sony-alpha-dslr-concept/">Sony Alpha ultra-compact concept hands-off</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sony-alpha-dslr-concept/#2729395"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/pma-sony-concept-2010-02-2115-49-39-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sony-alpha-dslr-concept/#2729396"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/pma-sony-concept-2010-02-2115-49-46-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sony-alpha-dslr-concept/#2729397"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/pma-sony-concept-2010-02-2115-49-50-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sony-alpha-dslr-concept/#2729398"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/pma-sony-concept-2010-02-2115-49-55-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sony-alpha-dslr-concept/#2729399"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/pma-sony-concept-2010-02-2115-50-01-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div> <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sony-super-telephoto-lens-and-prototype-distagon-hands-off/">Sony Alpha DSLR concept, Super Telephoto Lens, and Distagon lens hands-off</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sony-super-telephoto-lens-and-prototype-distagon-hands-off/#2729415"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/pma-sony-lens-2010-02-2116-02-24-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sony-super-telephoto-lens-and-prototype-distagon-hands-off/#2729416"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/pma-sony-lens-2010-02-2116-02-31-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sony-super-telephoto-lens-and-prototype-distagon-hands-off/#2729417"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/pma-sony-lens-2010-02-2116-02-43-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sony-super-telephoto-lens-and-prototype-distagon-hands-off/#2729418"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/pma-sony-lens-2010-02-2116-02-46-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/sony-super-telephoto-lens-and-prototype-distagon-hands-off/#2729419"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/pma-sony-lens-2010-02-2116-02-51-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div>  </meta>

General Imaging (or <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/GE/">GE</a>, as it were) has just busted out its 2010 range of point and shoot cameras, and while none of 'em are particularly <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/03/02/ge-intros-nine-new-point-and-shoots/">mind-blowing</a>, there <i>are</i> a few here worth paying attention to. The waterproof G5WP (ships in late Q2 for $179.99) is a natural successor to last year's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/03/07/ges-g3wp-waterproof-point-and-shoot-snoozefest/">G3WP</a>, offering up a metal enclosure, 4x internal zoom, a 12.2 megapixel sensor and your choice of gray, red or blue color schemes. The $149.99 X5 megazoom offers up a 15x zoom lens, a maximum ISO of 3,200 and a Q2 ship date, while the J1455 brings a 14.2 megapixel sensor, 5x optical zoom lens, image stabilization and a multitude of color options for $129.99. The 'Power Series' is seeing two new additions today in the 0.83-inch thick E1486TW ($179.99) and E1480W ($149.99), both of which include HD movie modes, optical image stabilization, a 14 megapixel sensor, an 8x optical zoomer and a 3-inch rear LCD. The company's low-end C- and A-series cameras are also seeing updates today, all of which are detailed in the linked presser.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/21/ge-outs-pma-2010-range-x5-e1486tw-e1480w-j1455-and-waterproo/">GE outs PMA 2010 range: X5, E1486TW, E1480W, J1455 and waterproof G5WP</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sun, 21 Feb 2010 13:19:00 EST. <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/PMA/">PMA</a> is just kicking off in earnest down in Anaheim, and it looks like <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Sony/">Sony</a> has arrived in a big way. Looking to make a splash in a DSLR world dominated by Canon and Nikon, the outfit has brought a few of its best and brightest concepts to SoCal. Up first is an ultra-compact "interchangeable lens" concept, which is no doubt Sony's attempt to get in on the fledgling <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/MicroFourThirds/">Micro Four Thirds</a> game before it blows up big. Few details on the device are available, but we'll be doing our best to pry whatever specifications we can from the booth representatives in short order. Moving on, there's a conceptual model of the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/06/sonys-alpha-a700-dslr-now-official-already-previewed/">Alpha A700</a> replacement, complete with an Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor that promises full AVCHD video capabilities. There's also a prototype of a Super Telephoto Lens (500mm F4 G) as well as a prototype Distagon T 24mm F2 ZA SSM, which ought to make wide angle junkies drool profusely. The company's also dishing out a raft of accessories, including underwater housing devices, HD lenses and output cables, tripods / accessory packs and a Compact PictureStation photo printing kiosk. Stay tuned for some hands-on action from the show floor. <br />

It's a beautiful day in Anaheim, which makes it a perfect day to introduce a couple of compact shooters. Regardless of the fact that we just made that up, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Casio/">Casio</a>'s in full agreement, as it has just pushed out the new Exilim EX-S7 (shown above) and EX-Z35 (shown after the break) at PMA 2010. The pair of low-end cameras offer up 12.1 megapixel sensors, 3x optical zooms and direct-to-web upload options; the S7 ships with a 720p HD video mode and a 2.7-inch rear LCD, while the Z35 gets a VGA movie mode and a 2.5-inch LCD. Neither option will blow any minds, but the relatively low $139.99 / $109.99 (in order of mention) price points just might generate some interest from the novices in attendance.<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/21/casio-rolls-out-exilim-ex-s7-and-ex-z35-point-and-shoots-at-pma/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Casio rolls out Exilim EX-S7 and EX-Z35 point-and-shoots at PMA</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/21/casio-rolls-out-exilim-ex-s7-and-ex-z35-point-and-shoots-at-pma/">Casio rolls out Exilim EX-S7 and EX-Z35 point-and-shoots at PMA</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sun, 21 Feb 2010 11:02:00 EST. Hey, didja hear the news? <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/pma2010">PMA</a> is just about upon us, giving all the camera makers a perfect opportunity to refresh their lineup. In no particular order, here's what Samsung is providing, all set for a Spring 2010 release:<br />
<ul>
    <li>New HMX-U15 ($230) and HMX-U20 ($250) 1080p HD pocket camcorders shoot H.264 and feature HDMI out, image stabilization, a 2-inch LCD, and some simple edit options. The U20 also throws in a 3x optical zoom and 10 megapixel stills, while the U15 instead takes 14 megapixel stills.</li>
    <li>The TL500 is a 10 megapixel camera with 24mm ultra-wide angle lens with an articulating three-inch AMOLED display, perfect for spying around the corner. It supports RAW format, shoots VGA video, and is due out for a hair less than $450.</li>
    <li>The 10 megapixel TL350 claims 1080p HD video recording with a maximum speed of up to 1,000 frames per second -- which invariably drops the video resolution to 138 x 78, but hey, sacrifices must be made. The three-inch AMOLED display and look for it set you back about $350.</li>
    <li>A pair of 12 megapixel point-and-shoots for the lower end, the waterproof AQ100 ($200) and the "scratch resistant" SL605 ($130), both with 2.7-inch LCDs and 5x optical zoom. The former shoots video in 720p and the latter just VGA.</li>
</ul>
Plethora of pressers after the break, and we'll be catching our flight to Anaheim shortly to give hands on impressions and take pictures of cameras that'll put our DSLRs to absolute shame. <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-aq100-sl605-tl350-tl500-and-hmx-u20/">Samsung AQ100, SL605, TL350, TL500, and HMX-U20</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-aq100-sl605-tl350-tl500-and-hmx-u20/#2728313"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/aq100bbus1024x768-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-aq100-sl605-tl350-tl500-and-hmx-u20/#2728315"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/aq100bsbus1024x768-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-aq100-sl605-tl350-tl500-and-hmx-u20/#2728316"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/aq100fbus1024x768-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-aq100-sl605-tl350-tl500-and-hmx-u20/#2728317"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/aq100fsbus1024x768-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-aq100-sl605-tl350-tl500-and-hmx-u20/#2728318"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/02/aq100fsrus1024x768-rm-eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/20/samsungs-pma-gifts-hd-pocket-camcorders-point-and-shoots-with/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Samsung's PMA gifts: HD pocket camcorders, point-and-shoots with AMOLED screens</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/20/samsungs-pma-gifts-hd-pocket-camcorders-point-and-shoots-with/">Samsung's PMA gifts: HD pocket camcorders, point-and-shoots with AMOLED screens</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sat, 20 Feb 2010 15:00:00 EST. HP just dropped five new cameras and three new camcorders at <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/pma2010">PMA</a>, including a few with touchscreen controls and revamped UIs. The $109 CW450t (pictured above) and $149 CW460t cameras have 2.7- and 3-inch touchscreen, respectively, and 4x optical zoom, while the $169 V5061u and $199 V5560u camcorders have 3-inch touchscreens shoot full 1080p -- the V5560u adds in a 5x optical zoom. That's not all for HP's low-end imaging assault: there's also the $99 CW450 and $129 SW450 cams with 4x zooms, the $149 PW550z with a 5x zoom, and the $109 V1020h camcorder that shoots 720p. Yes, it's a confusing mish-mash of letters, numbers, and bargain-basement prices -- isn't the low-end point-and-shoot market just delightful?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/19/hp-kicks-out-new-touchscreen-cameras-and-camcorders/">HP kicks out new touchscreen cameras and camcorders</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Fri, 19 Feb 2010 16:49:00 EST. It's the ultimate "why didn't I think of that?" concept, but kudos to <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Joby/">Joby</a> for doing more than just keeping a bar story to itself. Following in the footsteps of the magnified <a href="http://es.engadget.com/2009/08/21/joby-gorillatorch-una-lampara-led-muy-juguetona/">Gorillatorch</a>, Joby decided to add a few magnets to the feet of its tried-and-true Gorillapod flexible tripod. The result? The Gorillapod Magnetic, of course! Reportedly, this little bugger supports digital cameras and camcorders weighing up to 11.5 ounces, and it should go on sale worldwide this April for an undisclosed amount. We know you've been dreaming of a way to snap group photos while inside those steel prison bars, and at long last, those dreams can be become reality. In related news, the company is also showing its professional side with the April-bound Ballhead X, which is described as a "portable yet sturdy" head that can pan, tilt, and rotate cameras up to 11.1 pounds, and while it's designed to play nice with the Gorillapod Focus, it should work fine with 3/8- and 1/4-inch threads on other tripods. Full release is after the break.<br />

Tough though it may be to believe, Hasselblad's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/18/hasselblad-rolls-out-39-megapixel-h3d-ii-dslr/">39 megapixel H3D II</a> actually came out in 2007. Yeah, last decade. In other words, it's about time we saw a true successor hit the market, and with PMA just about ready to get going in Anaheim, the bold and beautiful H4D-40 is making its grand entrance. Boasting a 40 megapixel sensor, this medium format behemoth -- which we <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/01/31/pma-leak-roundup-olympus-fujifilm-and-hasselblad-plan-new-shoo/">spotted</a> in a leak late last month -- also features a "True Focus" AF system and ships with an 80mm lens and a viewfinder. The kit is said to be shipping now across the globe for $19,995 (or &euro;13,995 / &pound;12,995 on that side of the pond), which should make choosing between a new shooter and a public college education remarkably difficult.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/03/hasselblad-creates-40-megapixel-h4d-40-medium-format-camera-wan/">Hasselblad creates 40 megapixel H4D-40 medium format camera, wants $20k for it</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 03 Feb 2010 02:11:00 EST. It certainly took them long enough, but <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Olympus/">Olympus</a> has finally (finally!) introduced a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/olympus,micro%20four%20thirds">Micro Four Thirds</a> camera with a price tag that's a little closer to earth. If you'll recall, both of the previous PENs cost upwards of $750, but the E-PL1 touts a much more reasonable MSRP of $599.99. And that doesn't mean Olympus has been stingy on features. Nope, quite the contrary as the the minuscule body is packed with the same 12.3 megapixel image sensor as the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/24/olympus-e-30-dslr-reviewed-distinctly-different-but-thats-a-g/">E-30</a> and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/06/10/olympus-e-620-reviewed-does-entry-level-dslr-right/">E-620</a> (check the images in the gallery to see a size comparison of the actual sensors), in-body image stabilization, continuous autofocus, a 2.7-inch rear LCD, HD movie mode, in-camera "art filters" and a bundled ED 14-42mm f3.5/5.6 zoom lens (28-84mm equivalent in 35mm cameras). Oh and don't forget the addition of the pop-up flash which just reminds us of E.T. You won't be able to nab a E-PL1 until next month, but hit the break for some of our hands-on impressions. <br />

Keeping with the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/02/nikon-coolpix-p100-joins-the-superzoom-party-at-26x/">pre-PMA announcements</a>, Nikon also launched the S and L series of cams just now -- the S stands for "Style," and L stands for "Life." The Ls are the low-end of the bunch -- Life is apparently cheaper than Style -- and you've got two choices: the $280 L110 superzoom, which has a 15x optical zoom lens in front of a 12.3 megapixel sensor and a 3-inch 460,000-dot LCD, or the $130 L22 compact, which has a 3.6x zoom and a 12 megapixel sensor, and comes in many colors because low-end camera have to come in rainbow colors or the Best Buy people won't say they're any good. Nikon says the new $299 S8000 pictured above is the most notable of the Style line, mostly because of its 10x zoom, 720p video, 921,000-dot LCD for previewing. Yeah, not bad at all. After that it's just incrementally sadder steps down the features scale: the $249 S6000 has a 7x lens and a 230,000-dot LCD, the $200 S4000 adds touchscreen controls to its 3-inch 460,000-dot LCD but has a 12 megapixel sensor and a 4x zoom, and the $149 S3000 has a 2.7-inch LCD, a 4x zoom, and probably isn't interesting to you at all. Unless it is, in which case you can look at it in the gallery, read the PR after the break, and just generally party the night away.<br />

Nikon just fired off its first pre-PMA camera announcement with the new Coolpix P100 superzoom, which packs a five-way stabilized 26x optical zoom lens in front of a 10.3 megapixel CMOS sensor with ISO 3200 sensitivity, Backside Illumination and Active D-Lighting. Yeah, it's not quite the 30x zoom from the new <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/02/olympus-intros-sp-800uz-and-sp-600uz-megazooms-stylus-tough-801/">Olympus SP-800UX</a>, but the lens can also do macro shots at 0.4 inches, and there are in-camera HDR features, a 40-shot pre-shooting cache, and a 3-inch 460,000-dot tilting LCD. We're also told the P100 shoots 1080p video, but we don't know anything about frame rates or formats yet -- we're looking for more, we'll let you know. Should be out in March for $400; peep the full PR after the break.<br />

Remember that <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/01/27/fujifilm-finepix-s2500hd-s1730-s1600-and-jx530-leak-out/">smattering of new FinePix cameras</a> that leaked late last month? You know -- that camera show? At any rate, <i>Photo Rumors</i> has a trio of new leaks to swoon over this fine evening, starting with black and white (saywha?) shots of <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Olympus/">Olympus</a>' supposedly forthcoming SP800 (or SP-800UZ, if we're talking specifics). The megazoom shooter is said to boast a 30x optical zoom, 14 megapixel sensor and image stabilization, though no further details have been let loose just let. Moving on, Fujifilm seems to have a whole gaggle of new cams planned for release this week, including a megazoom of its own and a whole host of point-and-shoot offerings. Finally, Hasselblad is expected to one-up the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/18/hasselblad-rolls-out-39-megapixel-h3d-ii-dslr/">H3D</a> by introducing the H4D, which we fully suspect will have a 489 megapixel sensor and a price tag that far exceeds 93 percent of salaries here in America. Hit the links below for the goods, and hang tight -- PMA kicks off in earnest in just a few weeks.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/01/31/pma-leak-roundup-olympus-fujifilm-and-hasselblad-plan-new-shoo/">PMA leak roundup: Olympus, Fujifilm and Hasselblad plan new shooters</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sun, 31 Jan 2010 12:37:00 EST. <div style="text-align: left;">Well, there's not much to go on with this one, but Olympus has just put the above notice on its website, which teases a camera of.. some sort. Given the apparent form factor, however, some folks are speculating that it could be a new Micro Four Thirds camera to complement Olympus' PEN offerings, or possibly something along the lines of Sigma's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/sigmadp2">DP2</a> compact. Either way, it seems pretty likely that we'll be hearing more about it at <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/pma">PMA</a> next month.</div>

Our inaugural whisper this season comes care of a forum poster at d-spot.co.il, who according to <em>Canon Rumors</em>' tipster has been accurate in the past (at this point we've been unable to corroborate). Here's the deal: a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Canon/">Canon</a> 60D and Canon 550D / 600D (i.e. <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Rebel/">Rebel</a> series). Both apparently feature a 15.1 megapixel APS-C sensor, articulating screens, and 720p video at 30 frames per second. The 60D, however, can also claim 1080p footage -- odd that the Rebel doesn't, since the current <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/03/25/canon-eos-digital-rebel-t1i-now-official/">T1i has 1080p</a> -- an electronic level, and a new battery and grip compared to its <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/50D/">50D</a> successor. That one's apparently priced at around $1,190 and due out in May, while the other is $799 with no connection to a release date given. Make no mistake, between this and those <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/01/21/sony-dsc-tx5-waterproof-camera-sprung-from-a-leak/">waterproof Sony point-and-shoots</a>, this is only the beginning.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/01/26/canon-prepping-60d-and-550d-600d-with-articulating-displays/">Canon prepping 60D and 550D / 600D with articulating displays?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 26 Jan 2010 19:58:00 EST. Think Sony would be happy with just making its latest shooter waterproof and calling it a day? Not a chance. Early information on this as yet unannounced compact indicates a 10fps burst mode, 4x optical zoom with optical image stabilization, an intriguing image stacking mode for reduced noise in high ISO shots, and full 1080p MPEG-4 movie recording. 1080i / 60fps AVCHD video is also possible, apparently, and if <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/01/06/sony-finally-lets-you-use-sd-memory-on-handycams-freshens-up-pr/">recent trends</a> are continued the DSC-TX5 will also be able to store media on <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/01/06/sony-announces-line-of-sd-memory-cards-no-really/">SD cards</a>. Hallelujah. You'll find a couple more water-soaked images after the break, and the official launch is expected to take place at <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/pma">PMA</a> 2010.<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/01/21/sony-dsc-tx5-waterproof-camera-sprung-from-a-leak/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Sony DSC-TX5 waterproof camera sprung from a leak</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/01/21/sony-dsc-tx5-waterproof-camera-sprung-from-a-leak/">Sony DSC-TX5 waterproof camera sprung from a leak</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 21 Jan 2010 04:21:00 EST. <div align="left">Sigma has been doling out bits and pieces of information about its new <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/dp2">DP2</a> camera since <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/09/23/sigmas-dp2-the-tiny-compact-with-dslr-sized-sensor-gets-even-b/">last fall</a>, but it's just now letting folks use it to actually take some pictures and, judging from LetsGoDigital's results, it doesn't look to disappoint. Of course, the camera is still in pre-production form, but LetsGoDigital certainly seems to be plenty impressed with its abilities so far, with the "Super Multi-Layer Coating" on the lens helping to reduce lens flare, while the 41mm f/2.8 lens and 14-megapixel FOVEON X3 image sensor combine to deliver some great depth of field. Hit up the link below for some full-size sample images, plus another hands-on look at the camera itself.<br /></div>

<div align="left">Samsung has already offered up plenty of press shots of its new <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/03/02/samsungs-hybrid-nx-series-camera-point-and-shoot-with-dslr-lik/">NX Series</a> "hybrid" camera, but we're guessing most folks are still a bit more interested in some up-close, unpolished shots of the not-quite-compact, even if it is being kept just out of the reach of the teeming masses at <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/pma">PMA</a>. In case this one slipped past your radar, the big news here is the camera's use of an APS-C sized image sensor, which is normally only found on full-size DSLRs, and should result in some better than usual shots from a camera this size. Better still, that means you'll also still be able to attach at least a few different lenses to the camera, which you can catch a glimpse of by hitting up the links below.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/news.phtml/22728/23752/samsung-nx-microfourthirds-photo-gallery.phtml">Read</a> - Pocket-lint, "PHOTOS: Samsung NX digital camera"<br /><a href="http://www.photographybay.com/2009/03/04/samsung-nx-series-a-closer-look/">Read</a> - Photography Bay, "Samsung NX Series - A Closer Look"</div>

Pandigital just got official with its <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/07/pandigital-intros-pantouch-clear-photo-frames/">PanTouch Clear</a> line at CES this year, but already the company's stepping things up with the industry's slimmest <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/digiframe/">digiframe</a>. The 10.4-inch PAN1000DWPCF2 was introduced at this year's PMA expo in Las Vegas, and aside from the 1,024 x 768 resolution, 2GB of internal storage space, 6-in-1 card reader, inbuilt WiFi, USB socket and support for audio / video playback, the device also ditches the traditional "rear housing" to make it just 0.33-inches thick. From what we can tell, this here frame is probably the one to snag if you're dead set on hanging one upside your wall, and the programmable on / off times enables you to leave the office knowing that your frame will go dark at the appropriate strike of the clock. Pandigital plans to toss in a dark espresso wood frame as well as white and charcoal interchangeable mats, but you'll have to wait until May to hand over your $229.99 and bring one home.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.cnet.com/8301-13951_1-10188156-63.html?part=rss&amp;tag=feed&amp;subj=Crave">CNET</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/digitalcameras/" rel="tag">Digital Cameras</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/displays/" rel="tag">Displays</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/03/05/pandigitals-10-4-inch-pantouch-clear-wifi-digiframe-is-industry/">Pandigital's 10.4-inch PanTouch Clear WiFi digiframe is industry's thinnest</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 05 Mar 2009 16:22:00 EST. <div align="left">We've been keeping our eyes peeled for the snappy, handsome<a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/02/23/samsung-intros-12-megapixel-pair-tl320-and-hz15w/"> Samsung TL320</a> ever since we first spied it. Well, now it's on hand at PMA 2009, and the fine folks at <em>Pocket-Lint </em>have gotten some time alone with the 12.2 megapixel digicam, and we have to say -- it's looking pretty sweet. If you'd forgotten, this baby boasts 5x optical zoom, a 3-inch HVGA AMOLED display, 720p video recording, an HDMI output, dual image stabilization, plus some really awesome twin analog gauges for checking out memory capacity and battery life. The TL320 is expected to be available in May of this year for about $380. Check out another shot after the break, and hit the read link for a full set. <br /></div>

We're not gonna get excited just yet, but <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Olympus/">Olympus</a> has shown one of its cards at <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/PMA/">PMA</a> , and it happens to indicate at least one of its <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Micro+Four+Thirds/">Micro Four Thirds</a> cameras will be hitting retail channels this summer. That jibes with a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/28/two-olympus-micro-four-thirds-cameras-rumored-for-soonish-releas/">rumor</a> we heard back in late January. From what we can tell, there's still a dearth of detail / specs on this hunk of retro hotness -- a shame, too, since it'd have pretty much every camera aficionado's attention right now. With several months to go, we get the feeling the company's gonna play this one close to the chest for a little while longer.<br /><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/digitalcameras/" rel="tag">Digital Cameras</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/03/03/olympus-micro-four-thirds-camera-launching-this-summer/">Olympus' Micro Four Thirds camera launching this summer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 03 Mar 2009 23:12:00 EST. Not even a year after its <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/09/12/panasonics-lumix-g1-worlds-first-micro-four-thirds-camera/">Lumix DMC-G1</a> got all the glory as the first <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/MicroFourThirds/">Micro Four Thirds</a> camera on the market, Panasonic is back with a slightly tweaked version in the DMC-GH1. We say slightly tweaked since the exterior is more or less the same, but under the hood the camera has 1080p recording at 24 frames per second, or 720p recording at 60 fps, which the camera stores to AVCHD format. Panasonic has also included continuos auto focus, something lacking from most DSLRs with video capability. Users can set the shutter speed and aperture manually, and record stereo audio -- with an optional external mic if they so choose. The camera shoots 12.1 megapixel stills just like the G1, and now offers iPhoto-style Face Recognition in addition to Face Detection to make sure particular people are well exposed and in focus. It's not HD, but we'll still give <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Casio/">Casio</a>'s new EX-Z29 props for trying. The primarily bland compact camera (Casio itself describes the shooter as "Sleek &amp; Sturdy") offers up a 848 x 480 video record mode and direct-to-YouTube setting to go along with the 10.1 megapixel sensor, 3X zoom and 2.7-inch LCD. The "Sturdy" camera is 0.91-inches thick, offers Anti Shake DSP for mildly less blurry photos and hits retail this month for $150, available in black, pink, blue, silver or purple. There's another photo of the camera after the break, brace yourselves for all its splendor.<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/03/03/casios-new-ex-z29-10-1-megapixel-compact-does-wvga-video/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Casio's new EX-Z29 10.1 megapixel compact does WVGA video</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/digitalcameras/" rel="tag">Digital Cameras</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/03/03/casios-new-ex-z29-10-1-megapixel-compact-does-wvga-video/">Casio's new EX-Z29 10.1 megapixel compact does WVGA video</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 03 Mar 2009 09:00:00 EST. Not content with just showing off new <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/03/02/sony-expands-connected-bravia-hdtv-line-with-new-w-series/">TVs</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/03/02/sony-outs-bdp-s360-and-bdp-s560-blu-ray-players-new-bd-htibs/">home theater systems</a>, Blu-ray players, and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/03/02/sonys-dsc-hx1-camera-gets-official-coming-march-for-500/">cameras</a>, Sony also unveiled at <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/PMA/">PMA</a> two new photo printers for giving your digital memories a more tangible existence. The $120 DPP-FP67 and $200 DPP-FP97 create 4 x 6 prints in 45 and 67 seconds, respectively. Additionally, the FP97 (above and to the right) also sports HDMI out and a 3.5-inch LCD. No fancy Bluetooth connectivity like Dell's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/02/10/dells-wasabi-pz310-zink-printer-now-available-for-99/">Wasabi</a>, unfortunately, but the pair does support a variety of cards including SD, SDHC, MMC, xD and of course, Memory Stick. Look for these to help you finish that picture album when they hit retail channels sometime in May.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/digitalcameras/" rel="tag">Digital Cameras</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gadgets/" rel="tag">Misc. While a smattering of other camera outfits <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/02/17/samsung-expands-sl-camera-lineup-sl820-sl620-sl202-and-sl30/">decided</a> to <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/02/17/sonys-cyber-shot-t900-t90-w290-w230-and-h20-do-the-thinking/">out</a> most of their new point-and-shoot models <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/02/17/fujifilm-delivers-five-new-finepix-cameras-z33wp-z30-s1500-j/">a few weeks prior</a> to PMA, Kodak has kept with tradition by breaking their new kid out here in Vegas. The <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/EasyShare/">EasyShare</a> Z915 is a markedly standard 10 megapixel shooter, boasting a 10x image stabilized optical zoom lens, the company's own Smart Capture feature to automatically snag the best shots, support for AA batteries, a 2.5-inch rear LCD and an SD / SDHC card slot. It'll be available in red, blue, black and gray this April for a completely respectable $199.95. Trouble is, you'll probably forget this thing even exists by then. Full release is after the break.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/kodak-introduces-easyshare-z915-with-10x-zoomer/">Kodak introduces EasyShare Z915 with 10x zoomer</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/kodak-introduces-easyshare-z915-with-10x-zoomer/#1380503"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/02/kodak_z915_black_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/kodak-introduces-easyshare-z915-with-10x-zoomer/#1380504"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/02/kodak_z915_black2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/kodak-introduces-easyshare-z915-with-10x-zoomer/#1380505"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/02/kodak_z915_blue_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/03/03/kodak-introduces-easyshare-z915-with-10x-zoomer/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Kodak introduces EasyShare Z915 with 10x zoomer</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/digitalcameras/" rel="tag">Digital Cameras</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/03/03/kodak-introduces-easyshare-z915-with-10x-zoomer/">Kodak introduces EasyShare Z915 with 10x zoomer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 03 Mar 2009 00:01:00 EST.
