<div style="text-align: left;">It's been a long strange trip for the onetime "mystery MID," but now it looks like the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/ramosw7">RAmos W7</a> is finally finding its way to customers. According to <em>Pocketables</em>, the Android 1.5 device is selling for 999 yuan (about $146), which isn't bad seeing as how they've gone on eBay for four times that -- although the price suggests that the rumored 3G connectivity is a non-starter. Whatever the case, we'll definitely keep our eyes peeled for a stateside appearance.</div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/05/28/ramos-w7-android-mid-is-alive-and-shipping-in-china/">RAmos W7 Android MID is alive and shipping (in China)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Fri, 28 May 2010 11:47:00 EST. Look, we're not ones to knock specs for specs' sake, and 1080p output is certainly impressive for a $177.45 Chinese import PMP, but after seeing RAmos churn its way <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/11/15/ramos-w7-spotted-blazing-through-android/">through some Android with the W7</a>, it's hard to get fired up for this new T11TE monster. But back to the specs: there's a 5-inch 800 x 480 touchscreen, 16GB of built-in memory, microSD expansion and codec support galore. Mix in the fact that the whole player is less than half an inch thick, and even packs in dual 3.5mm headphone jacks, and we really have no excuse to be Negative Nancys, but we suppose we're just a little OS-spoiled these days. It's not you, RAmos, it's us. We've changed.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/12/14/ramos-t11te-5-inch-pmp-outputs-1080p-over-hdmi-might-be-compens/">RAmos T11TE 5-inch PMP outputs 1080p over HDMI, might be compensating for something</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 14 Dec 2009 11:10:00 EST. We've seen some <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/11/15/ramos-w7-spotted-blazing-through-android/">video of the RAmos W7 running Android</a> (with some pep), but these new photos of the device out and about are pretty promising. An Android slate with a 4.8-inch screen in a thinner-than-an-iPhone form factor? Look out, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Archos5/">Archos 5</a>. Hit up the source link for the rest.<br />

As much fun as it is seeing the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/RAmosW7/">RAmos W7</a> in the wild, all legit and everything, what's more exciting is seeing that Android-specific 600MHz <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Rockchip/">Rockchip</a> CPU in action again. This time it appears to be handling some pretty snappy web browsing to some fairly hefty pages, and then diving into what looks to be Flash video in an externalized, overlain player of some kind. The Android <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Archos5/">Archos 5</a> does a similar thing for media playback, but it's not plugged into the browser like this, and we really haven't seen many devices attain these sorts of browser speeds at this resolution. Sure, there's still plenty more OS to see, but it's good to see both of these products making a bit of good on their promises. Check out the video after the break.<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/11/15/ramos-w7-spotted-blazing-through-android/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>RAmos W7 spotted blazing through Android</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handhelds/" rel="tag">Handhelds</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portablevideo/" rel="tag">Portable Video</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/11/15/ramos-w7-spotted-blazing-through-android/">RAmos W7 spotted blazing through Android</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sun, 15 Nov 2009 09:42:00 EST. Good 'ol <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/ramos">RAmos</a>, producers of a series of lovely <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/pmp">PMPs</a> and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/mid">MIDs</a> that captivates the eye and, like a chaste romance, will never submit to your touch -- unless you live in Asia or happen to <em>know a guy</em>. The latest is the T10RK, a slight upgrade to the earlier <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/ramost10">T10</a>, sharing the same simple form and seemingly lovely 4.3-inch, 800 x 480 screen as the earlier model, but now sporting the RK2806 chipset found in the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/08/09/ramos-t11-rk-boasts-720p-h-264-support-a-stylish-but-all-too-fa/">T11RK</a>, allowing for decoding of more video codecs than you'll know what to do with. No mention of price or availability yet, but such questions matter not in love.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portablevideo/" rel="tag">Portable Video</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/11/04/ramos-gives-its-t10-pmp-the-rk-treatment-supports-video-formats/">RAmos gives its T10 PMP the RK treatment, supports video formats galore</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 04 Nov 2009 08:18:00 EST. <div align="left">We had a pretty <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/09/18/ramos-android-event-scheduled-for-next-week-mystery-mid-getting/">clear indication</a> that this one was coming, but it looks RAmos has finally gotten official with its once mysterious Android-based MID, now known from here on out as the W7. As rumored, this one is a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/rockchip">Rockchip</a>-powered device, and packs a 4.8-inch, 800 x 480 touchscreen, 720p video support (via HDMI output, presumably), built-in WiFi, and no 3G, although that apparently could still be in the cards for the future. It also just so happens to bear more than a passing resemblance to eviGroup's recently-debuted <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/09/23/evigroups-android-based-wallet-mid-debuts-in-france-avec-video/">Wallet Android MID</a>, and another, non-existent MID / tablet you might have <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/appletablet">heard of</a>. What's more, RAmos also seems to have taken the opportunity to debut a few other, non-Android-based MIDs and PMPs, including the T11TE (which apparently boasts 1080p output over HDMI), the T9HD, and the T7 -- although details on those are few and far between at the moment.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://electric-echoes.blogspot.com/2009/09/ramos-announces-new-product-line.html">Electric Echoes</a>, thanks Sere83]<br /></div>

<div align="left">Any time a good conundrum is solved there's bound to be mixed feelings -- and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/08/26/mystery-android-mid-found-out-to-be-rockchip-built-concept-caug/">The Case of the Mysterious Android MID</a> was certainly no different. Has it really only been a month? Certainly you remember the affair -- how pictures (and eventually video) of this handheld Internet device, running Android, kept popping up all over the place? Well, we were somewhat comforted to discover that it was a Rockchip-powered concept device, although at the same time we felt a little cheated: how dare RAmos flaunt such a thing and fail to deliver? But not so fast! According to a teaser that's made its way to us on the Internet machine, a press event scheduled for September 25th will feature some combination of: "Android" and "ramos digital." Whether or not its the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/08/24/mysterious-android-mid-poses-for-yet-more-pics-reads-engadget/">Rockchip-powered device</a> we've been taunted by remains to be seen, but it's definitely a fair guess to say that it will be. Besides, RAmos, after Apple's recent iPod event, <em>we need this</em>.<br />

<div align="left">If there's one thing <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/ramos">RAmos</a> hasn't been fond of lately it's buttons, and it looks like it's not about to change its ways with this new Q25ihi player, which keeps things about as simple (and familiar) as can be. It doesn't look like the company is cutting too many corners with the parts this time around, however, as the player apparently sports a 3.1-inch capacitive display, along with a G-Sensor for screen rotation and "retro flexion functions," a built-in FM tuner and transmitter, support for all the usual audio / video formats, and capacities ranging from a mere 1GB to 16GB. No word on a price just yet, but it looks like the player should now be available in Korea under RAmos' MuMu Music brand, and will soon be available in China as the Q25L.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.itechnews.net/2009/09/07/ramos-mumu-music-q25ihi-pmp-for-korea/">iTech News Net</a>]<br /></div>

Ah, if it isn't <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/RAmos/">RAmos</a> again. The only Chinese PMP maker that cranks out wares that aren't chock full of <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/KIRF/">KIRF</a>. The outfit's latest endeavor is the T6 icon, a sleek, simplistic media player that isn't apt to head stateside anytime soon. Packing a 4.3-inch LCD (800 x 480 resolution) and a frame that's just ten millimeters thick, the HD-capable device also boasts an HDMI output and nary a button on the front face. 'Course, the assortment of rockers around the edges ensures that your volume level and track selection isn't solely controlled by a touchscreen, but we definitely appreciate the clean look.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handhelds/" rel="tag">Handhelds</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portablevideo/" rel="tag">Portable Video</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/08/10/ramos-t6-pmp-dont-need-no-buttons/">RAmos T6 PMP don't need no buttons</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 10 Aug 2009 08:26:00 EST. Decent design, nice specs, bargain price, and a pretty poor chance of coming stateside? Yep, this must be <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/RAmos/">RAmos</a>. Its latest touchscreen media device, the T11 RK, sports the same Rockchip RK2806 processor as the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/04/05/ramos-unveils-its-skynet-approved-terminator-t12-media-player/">Terminator T12</a>, and also has a 5-inch, 800 x 480 display, 8GB internal memory, 720p TV out, FM radio, and support for numerous codecs including H.264 HD, DivX, XviD, MPG, and FLV. As you can tell from the picture above, it's also wielding the ever-important clock and calendar widgets, as well as a dock with some all-too-familiar, borderline <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/KIRF/">KIRF</a> inspiration, although judging by the other pictures, the UI is overall pretty classy. If you find yourself in China, this baby can be yours for 699 Yuan, or about $102 in US currency, and if not, feel free to live vicariously through the video after the break.<br /> <br /> [Via <a href="http://www.clonedinchina.com/2009/08/media-player-ramos-t11-rk-hits-the-market.html">Cloned in China</a>; hanks, xleung]<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/08/09/ramos-t11-rk-boasts-720p-h-264-support-a-stylish-but-all-too-fa/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>RAmos T11 RK boasts 720p H.264 support, a stylish but all too familiar UI</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handhelds/" rel="tag">Handhelds</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portablevideo/" rel="tag">Portable Video</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/08/09/ramos-t11-rk-boasts-720p-h-264-support-a-stylish-but-all-too-fa/">RAmos T11 RK boasts 720p H.264 support, a stylish but all too familiar UI</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sun, 09 Aug 2009 06:41:00 EST. <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/RAmos/">RAmos</a> definitely isn't the most respected name in PMPs here in the US, but as of late, it's done a commendable job of staying relevant... at least on the design front, anyway. The firm's latest concoction, which goes by RM990 iOne2, is a touchscreen-heavy media player that's clearly not anorexic. Specs wise, we're told that it features a 3-inch WQVGA touch panel, haptic feedback, a built-in accelerometer, 4GB of internal storage and support for a whole gaggle of file formats. Not bad for the low, low asking price of just 399 yuan (around $58), but it's hardly worth a trip to Shanghai.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.pmptoday.com/2009/04/14/ramos-ione2-rm990-pmp-ipod-touch-clone/">PMPToday</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portablevideo/" rel="tag">Portable Video</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/04/20/ramos-rm990-ione2-pmp-looks-surprisingly-desirable/">RAmos RM990 iOne2 PMP looks surprisingly desirable</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 20 Apr 2009 05:51:00 EST. <div align="left">Ah, RAmos -- you know what the people want, and you just keep crankin' 'em out. A worthy successor to the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/T10/">T10</a>, the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/T9/">T9</a>, and the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/RAmosT8/">T8</a>, the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Terminator/">Terminator T12</a> switches things up a bit with a thumb wheel for (hopefully) improved navigation over its touchscreen-centric brethren. And the specs seem more than sufficient, including a Rockchip RK2806 (1024 x 720) chipset, 5-inch display, Wolfson WM8988 audio, and TV out. Storage and price have yet to be announced, but you'll know as soon as we do. Since this is a tie-in for the upcoming Terminator movie, we expect to see some suitably gaudy / awesome promo material coming down the pike. We knew the upcoming <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/03/16/ramos-gets-real-official-with-sleek-t10-pmp/">T10 from RAmos</a> was quite a lot of hotness, with that 4.3-inch 800 x 480 screen in particular winning it a sizable portion of our hearts, but now the player is out and about getting glamour shots with its sexy friends. The T10 seems to acquit itself quite well on the design front up against folks like the iPhone 3G and the PSP, but we'll have to wait and see if that generic interface will make this PMP worth having.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.pmptoday.com/2009/03/17/mumumusic-t10-kicks-ipod-touch-screen-size">PMP Today</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portablevideo/" rel="tag">Portable Video</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/03/18/ramos-t10-in-the-wild-hanging-out-with-iphones-psps-and-blood/">RAmos T10 in the wild, hanging out with iPhones, PSPs and blood diamonds</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 18 Mar 2009 09:34:00 EST. We thought the RAmos T10 looked better than decent when we <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/24/ramos-t10-ikiss-pmp-looks-pretty-good-probably-stole-its-outfit/">first saw it</a> in January, and now that the company has hosted up a real-deal website for it, we're even more in love. The unarguably stylish PMP sports a 4.3-inch WQVGA display (800 x 480), support for practically any audio / video format you can think of, a TV output, between 8GB and 16GB of internal memory, USB 2.0, and a 3.5-millimeter headphone jack. Word on the street has it that this sucker will be loosed in China next month, but who knows how long it'll take to make its way into North America.<br /><br />[Thanks, Boris]<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/ramos-gets-real-official-with-sleek-t10-pmp/">RAmos gets real official with sleek T10 PMP</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/ramos-gets-real-official-with-sleek-t10-pmp/#1434272"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/03/3-16-09-ramos-t10_4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/ramos-gets-real-official-with-sleek-t10-pmp/#1434273"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/03/3-16-09-ramos-t10_1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/ramos-gets-real-official-with-sleek-t10-pmp/#1434274"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/03/3-16-09-ramos-t10_2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/ramos-gets-real-official-with-sleek-t10-pmp/#1434275"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/03/3-16-09-ramos-t10_3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portablevideo/" rel="tag">Portable Video</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/03/16/ramos-gets-real-official-with-sleek-t10-pmp/">RAmos gets real official with sleek T10 PMP</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 16 Mar 2009 23:01:00 EST. <div align="left">Yes, the kids at RAmos have arrived with that <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/12/16/gemei-and-ramos-to-offer-800-x-480-pmps/">800 x 480 PMP</a> we first espied sometime in December. As you might have guessed, the T9 iMovie 2 is the followup to the smash hit <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/06/ramos-imovie-pmp-32gb-3-inch-thick-219/">T8 iMovie</a>, sporting a polished aluminum alloy frame, 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen display, and 16GB storage. No further details at the moment, but if you can track this guy down he'll run you about $132.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.pmptoday.com/2009/02/18/ramos-t9-imovie-2-pmp-announced/">PMP Today</a>]<br /></div>

Call us crazy (no really, go on -- it's cool), but we get the feeling that <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/RAmos/">RAmos</a>' T10 ikiss portable media player got its inspiration from a fresh little BlackBerry called the Storm. For those willing to overlook that fact, you may be interested in knowing that it supports 1080i output and can handle just about every audio and video format known to man. It should arrive soon with 16GB of internal storage for an undisclosed price, but we've yet to hear if some sort of "clicky" screen will be included.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.pmptoday.com/2009/01/22/ramos-t10-ikiss-mp4-player-announced/">PMPToday</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portablevideo/" rel="tag">Portable Video</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/24/ramos-t10-ikiss-pmp-looks-pretty-good-probably-stole-its-outfit/">RAmos T10 ikiss PMP looks pretty good, probably stole its outfit</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sat, 24 Jan 2009 02:02:00 EST. <div align="left">Remember the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/10/05/ainols-palatable-v3000-pmp-priced-at-100/">Ainol V3000</a> we saw a while back? It looks like <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Gemei/">Gemei</a> and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/RAmos/">RAmos</a> are playing catch-up with some 800 x 480 PMPs of their own. It's been speculated that like the Ainol handheld, Gemei's X690HD will be rocking an Ingenic chipset, while the RAmos T9 could follow up its <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/06/ramos-imovie-pmp-32gb-3-inch-thick-219/">iMovie</a> with either an Ingenic or a Rockchip. Hopefully this bombshell makes your day, because there really are no other <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/12/15/journal-finds-that-consumers-prefer-vague-product-specs-to-utter/">specs</a> to report. We assume you'll see these guys with FM tuners, TV outs, batteries, and storage at some unspecified point in the future. The usual. Keep your eyes peeled, Mainland China!<br /></div>

<a href="http://engadget.com/tag/ramos">RAmos</a> tends to tease us with slick product <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/04/15/ramos-goes-sleek-with-v8-portable-media-player/">photos / renders</a> all the time and then pump out shoddy, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/05/17/ramos-v8-appears-in-the-flesh/">derivative crap</a>, so we're not going to get too excited about the new T8 iMovie (sigh, terrible name), but here it is looking pretty slick on video -- and the specs are solid for $219. That's a 4.3-inch 480 x 272 touchscreen in a 10mm (.4 inch) thick case, with 32GB of storage and decent codec support, TV-out, and micro speakers. Too bad we don't know if it's coming Stateside, but if you're headed to the Olympics, it's probably worth checking out. Rather than just dousing one of its current players in <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/pink/">pink</a> and calling it fit for a female, RAmos decided to really investigate the true desires of our lady friends. The <a href="http://es.engadget.com/2008/07/08/mumu-ishine-q18-nueva-serie-de-reproductores-ramos/">Mumu</a> iPearl is an elusive white-framed PMP with no obvious buttons, though the entire interface is delightfully pink. Here's where the company goes wrong, though -- it totally fails to mention any specifications whatsoever, acting as if that August release date is the only thing gadget-loving dames will care to know. We'd say you've still got some growing up to do, RAmos.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.pmptoday.com/2008/08/05/ramos-mumu-ipearl-so-pink/">PMPToday</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portablevideo/" rel="tag">Portable Video</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/05/ramos-mumu-ipearl-aims-for-the-female-heart/">RAmos' Mumu iPearl aims for the female heart</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 05 Aug 2008 15:55:00 EST. If you haven't noticed, China's going <a href="http://www.engadgethd.com/2008/03/24/terrestrial-hdtv-programs-coming-to-eight-cities-in-china-before/">all out</a> to <a href="http://www.engadgethd.com/2008/04/28/china-preps-new-hdtv-channel-for-the-olympics/">improve itself</a> before the world fixes its eyes upon Beijing in just over a week. Rather than plunking down license fees to use a protocol that's widely accepted, China has chosen to create its own digital TV standard: <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2008/05/12/china-flips-switch-on-cmmb-mobile-tv-trials/">CMMB</a>. Amazingly, RAmos has actually churned out a PMP to take advantage of said standard, and just in time for the <a href="http://www.engadgethd.com/tag/Olympics/">2008 Olympics</a>. Unfortunately, we really know nothing about the iTV <em>except</em> that it can understand CMMB, so screen size, internal storage and everything else remains unknown. Heck, we don't even know how expensive it is -- but hey, it supports CMMB (for the three weeks you're in China, after which it's partially worthless)!<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.itechnews.net/2008/07/28/ramos-itv-supports-cmmb/">iTech News Net</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portablevideo/" rel="tag">Portable Video</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/07/28/ramos-itv-pmp-is-first-to-handle-chinas-cmmb-mobile-tv-standard/">RAmos iTV PMP is first to handle China's CMMB mobile TV standard</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 28 Jul 2008 18:10:00 EST. Just when we were <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/05/17/ramos-v8-appears-in-the-flesh/">all excited</a> about seeing a RAmos V8 in the wild, it turns out the PMP has had a bit of shrinkage. Instead of the generous 4.3-inch screen we expected, the final unit is listed as having a more realistic 3-incher. Meanwhile, instead of the 16GB of storage for which we lusted, this unit has a measly 4GB. Now, it's entirely possible that this is an entry-level unit at just 599 Yuan ($86 US), but we still feel a bit cheated. Other confirmed specs include a 400 x 240 resolution at 26K colors along with -- get this -- TV output. Supported formats include MP3, WMA, FLAC, APE, AVI, and RM/RMVB.<br /><br />[Thanks, Toly]<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://mp4nation.net/blog/?p=75">MP4 Nation</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/homeentertainment/" rel="tag">Home Entertainment</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/06/07/ramos-v8-spotted-in-the-wild-with-smaller-screen-less-storage/">RAmos V8 spotted in the wild with smaller screen, less storage</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sat, 07 Jun 2008 12:36:00 EST. We thought the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/04/15/ramos-goes-sleek-with-v8-portable-media-player/">RAmos V8</a> was looking pretty sleek in render form, but now that some real pictures of the black PMP with the 4.3-inch screen and 16GB of storage have surfaced, we're really impressed -- with how much this thing looks like an iPod touch. (We'll be here all week, folks!) Of course, the V8's codec support is way better, but without pricing info and a look at that UI we're not ready to call this one a winner quite yet. Let us know if you hit China next month, okay?<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://mp4nation.net/blog/?p=63">MP4nation</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portablevideo/" rel="tag">Portable Video</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/05/17/ramos-v8-appears-in-the-flesh/">RAmos V8 appears in the flesh</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sat, 17 May 2008 10:14:00 EST. Particularly <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/11/28/ramos-tries-classing-it-up-with-the-rm970-pmp/">of late</a>, RAmos has really been <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/11/01/ramos-v80-pmp-gets-wince-integrated-camera/">exceeding</a> expectations, and it seems to have raised its own bar once again with the easy-on-the-eyes V8. Sporting a svelte, black enclosure and a 4.3-inch display, this portable media player handles MP4, AVI, DivX, RMVB, MP3, WMA and FLAC file formats, boasts a TV output and even includes a text viewer. You'll also notice that it automatically detects rotation and orients the on-screen imagery in response. Per usual, price remains a mystery here, but at least this one is apt to be worth more than whatever change is currently residing in your pocket.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://es.engadget.com/2008/04/15/ramos-v8-primeros-datos/">Engadget Spanish</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portablevideo/" rel="tag">Portable Video</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/04/15/ramos-goes-sleek-with-v8-portable-media-player/">RAmos goes sleek with V8 portable media player</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 15 Apr 2008 16:33:00 EST. We've definitely seen some <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/08/21/ramos-rm150-plays-xvid-on-the-cheap/">questionable</a> <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/10/13/ramos-rm400-portable-media-player/">designs</a> from <a href="http://engadget.com/tag/ramos">Ramos</a> (and some <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/03/26/rm650-and-rm550-ramos-daps-get-chocolized/">straight-up</a> <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/02/05/keepin-it-real-fake-part-xliv-ramos-q13-is-not-a-nano/">KIRFs</a> as well), but it appears as though the company's latest PMP, the RM970, might have actually been drawn up by someone living in this decade. The 2GB device features a 3-inch, 480 x 272 screen, a 200MHz ARM7 processor backed up by a 200MHz Rockchips DSP, and an iPod-aping split-screen menu system. Those dual 200MHz chips enable some pretty decent format support -- the RM970 supports MP3, WAV, WMA, Ogg, FLAC, AAC, APE, MPEG4, Real and AVI out of the box, and it appears that NES emulation will also be included. Of course, there's no word on price or availability outside of Asia, but here's hoping Ramos keeps its standards this high in the future.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.mp4users.com/ramos/574-ramos-developing-monster-pmp-rm970.html">MP4 Users</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portablevideo/" rel="tag">Portable Video</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/11/28/ramos-tries-classing-it-up-with-the-rm970-pmp/">Ramos tries classing it up with the RM970 PMP</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 28 Nov 2007 16:34:00 EST. RAmos hasn't exactly set the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/08/21/ramos-rm150-plays-xvid-on-the-cheap/">standard</a> for sexy looking PMPs, and while the V80 may not make you cringe when facing it head-on, checking out the whole package is likely to leave you disappointed. Nevertheless, this unit does manage to hum along on WinCE 6.0, boast a 1.3-megapixel camera and include a gaming function for those moments when tunes just aren't enough. Moreover, the device features a 320 x 240 resolution touchscreen display, USB 2.0 connectivity and a microSD expansion slot. Beyond that, however, details are few and far between, but feel free to check out a few more angles after the break.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://thegadgetsite.blogspot.com/2007/11/ramos-v80-wince-6-0-13-camera-windtouch.html">TheGadgetSite</a>]<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/11/01/ramos-v80-pmp-gets-wince-integrated-camera/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>RAmos V80 PMP gets WinCE, integrated camera</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portablevideo/" rel="tag">Portable Video</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/11/01/ramos-v80-pmp-gets-wince-integrated-camera/">RAmos V80 PMP gets WinCE, integrated camera</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 01 Nov 2007 20:21:00 EST. <div align="left">RAmos is a little late to the shuffle knock-off game, but it looks like its new MiniQ player should stack up to <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/07/16/keepin-it-real-fake-part-lxv-shifty-shuffles/">the competition</a> quite nicely, with it boasting many of the same improvements other companies have managed to cram into that familiar form factor. From the looks of it, this one is available only in a 2GB version, which includes a barely there monochrome OLED display and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/search/?q=%22srs+wow%22">SRS Wow</a> technology to give your tunes an artificially enhanced boost. All that'll apparently set you back 299 yuan in China, or just about $40.<br /><br />[Thanks, BrianB]</div>

RAmos has gone out of its way to make its PMPs and DAPs <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/03/26/rm650-and-rm550-ramos-daps-get-chocolized/">atypically</a> <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2005/11/26/the-ramos-gilded-mp3-player/comments/563613/">noticeable</a> in the past, and while the V150 is certainly not the most <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2005/12/09/the-diamond-encrusted-ipod-nano/">glamorous</a> we've ever seen, it certainly doesn't look half bad. The sleek, Bluetooth 2.0-equipped device features a 2.4-inch QVGA display, a control lanyard, 2GB of storage, USB connectivity, and support for DivX / XviD formats. Additionally, you can opt for a set of Bluetooth plugs if you're frustrated with cords, and the built-in voice recorder / image viewer are nice touches, too. All in all, you're likely to be pretty pleased when you take the 699CNY ($92) price tag into account, and if you like what you see above, feel free to check out another glimpse after the jump.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.pmptoday.com/2007/09/19/shiny-ramos-v150-pmp-wants-to-be-noticed/">PMP Today</a>]<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/21/ramos-offers-up-v150-pmp-good-looks-on-the-cheap/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>RAmos offers up V150 PMP: good looks on the cheap</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portablevideo/" rel="tag">Portable Video</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/21/ramos-offers-up-v150-pmp-good-looks-on-the-cheap/">RAmos offers up V150 PMP: good looks on the cheap</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Fri, 21 Sep 2007 01:40:00 EST. Fed up with the overcrowded <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/02/05/keepin-it-real-fake-part-xliv-ramos-q13-is-not-a-nano/">iPod-rippin'</a> game, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/search/?q=RAmos">RAmos</a> has moved on to the <em>other</em> hotness of 2006: LG's Chocolate. And RAmos makes no bones about its "inspiration," as seen in the press shot above. At least <a href="http://engadget.com/tag/Meizu">Meizu</a> has the modesty to deny it once in a while. Anyways, specs are pretty standard for the RM650 and RM550 players: 2.4-inch QVGA displays, 1GB to 4GB of flash memory (2GB max on the RM650), less than 0.45-inches thick, mic recording and decent codec support, including XviD. Prices range from $52 to $78, no word exactly when they'll be hitting shelves in China, and little hope for such imitation to make it to the States through any formal channels.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.themp3players.com/archives/2007/03/ramos-makes-chocolate/">The MP3 Players</a><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portablevideo/" rel="tag">Portable Video</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/03/26/rm650-and-rm550-ramos-daps-get-chocolized/">RM650 and RM550 RAmos DAPs get "chocolized"</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 26 Mar 2007 16:04:00 EST. The <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/11/06/china-produces-v191-all-in-one-pmp-cellphone/">handheld</a> <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/07/28/green-apples-ap3100-handheld/">conglomerate</a> market must be booming in China, as <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/10/13/ramos-rm400-portable-media-player/">RAmos</a> is getting in on the action with its very own V100. Similar to all the <a href="http://announcements.engadget.com/2006/10/30/maxian-goes-matrix-with-the-d900-neo-pmp/">renditions</a> that came before it, this do-it-all portable renders all sorts of still photos, and plays back MP3, WMA, WAV, OGG, and FLAC on the audio side, while playing nice with MPEG3, XviD, and DivX on the video end. For a dash of retro gaming, it supports NES / SNES emulation, as well as "flash games and animations." Powering this sleek machine is a 200MHz Freescale CPU, which is surrounded by a 2.5-inch 320 x 240 resolution LCD, Philips UDA1380TT audio decoder, built-in microphone, dual headphone jacks, an SD slot, and a potent Li-ion cell that reportedly lasts "up to 10 hours." Additionally, RAmos supposedly tosses in a pair of <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/01/02/sennheiser-intros-new-headphones-and-bluetooth-headsets/">Sennheiser</a> MX500 earbuds to round out the package, and somehow charges just 700 CNY ($89) for the 512MB version, and 800 CNY ($102) for the 1GB edition.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.dapreview.net/news.php?item.3745.1">DAPReview</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handhelds/" rel="tag">Handhelds</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portablevideo/" rel="tag">Portable Video</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/11/08/ramos-joins-the-party-with-its-v100-all-in-one-pmp/">RAmos joins the party with its V100 all-in-one PMP</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 08 Nov 2006 20:27:00 EST. Chinese manufacturer <a href="http://www.engadget.com/search/?q=ramos">RAmos</a> has a new portable media player for those who prefer their gadgets with a little of the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2005/11/26/the-ramos-gilded-mp3-player/">Midas touch</a>, recently announcing its RM400 player. This one boasts a 2.2-inch QVGA display, MPEG-4 and AVI video support, plain-old MP3s on the audio front, 512MB of built-in flash memory and an SD slot to add up to 2GB more. Exactly what it has to do with the official X-Men game, we're not sure, though we somehow suspect that it's not one of the "game functions" that this unit supposedly offers. No word on what it'll cost, either, but if RAmos' <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/08/21/ramos-rm150-plays-xvid-on-the-cheap/">last PMP</a> is any indication, it shouldn't leave too much of a dent in your wallet.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.anythingbutipod.com/archives/2006/10/ramos-rm400-media-player.php">Anything But iPod</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portablevideo/" rel="tag">Portable Video</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/10/13/ramos-rm400-portable-media-player/">RAmos' RM400 portable media player</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Fri, 13 Oct 2006 05:12:00 EST. RAmos offers both 512MB and 1GB flavors, and the pocket-size device rocks a 2.2-inch TFT screen which displays your ever-growing collection of XviD and AVI files with ease. While you won't fit too many of those clips on such skimpy amounts of storage, you can carry quite a few MP3s and WMA files along, and there's always the FM tuner should you need some fresh material on the go. While there's no word on battery life, we wouldn't expect too much more from the RM150 -- after all, this unit is already a big step forward from the company's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2005/11/26/the-ramos-gilded-mp3-player/">gaudy gold offering</a> of last year. If you don't mind the limited storage capacity (and the complete lack of expansion options), the 512MB version can be had for 399 CNY ($50), while 1GB will run you just 499 CNY ($63).<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portablevideo/" rel="tag">Portable Video</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/08/21/ramos-rm150-plays-xvid-on-the-cheap/">RAmos RM150 plays XviD on the cheap</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 21 Aug 2006 12:45:00 EST.
