Have you ever played WoW and gotten so absorbed that you totally lost track of time? Then suddenly you realize you're late for something important and you get in big trouble, right? Or perhaps you lose some important sleep?Today's breakfast topic is not only an opportunity to share horror stories about what happened when you or someone you know played WoW without checking the clock, but it's also a handy reminder to always stay aware of the real world, where time is measured in minutes and hours rather than levels and gear.

What noncombat pet do you use on your characters? Each of my characters has their own noncombat pets, something that I decided early on fit them. My Human Shadow Priest has a cute black cat, my Undead Rogue brings a Snowshoe Rabbit along with him to the BGs (just because I love stealthing and thinking of a little rabbit hopping around on its own), and while my Orc Shaman used to rock a snake, he recently got One-Eyed Willy (no comment) from Children's Week, and every chance I get I pull it out (still no comment), and wait for Willy to do his eyebeam thing. Unfortunately, I haven't seen it happen yet.Of all the noncombat pets in the game, do you call just one your own or do you have a bunch that you rotate around? Which one do you use most often?

  • Howling Rayman Raving Rabbids cake

Other games blogs may have recently sworn off games cakes, but here at Joystiq this still looks delicious. Then again, this blogger does have a soft spot for vanilla icing. We're not sure where the floating head of a Rayman Raving Rabbids bunny fits into the culture of edible fandom, but can't you just hear him singing his off-key Christmas carol, begging to be smacked across the face?Actually, this bunny has his own Flickr set. See how he emerged from box art, to tin foil hunk, to tasty, screaming glory. Thanks, Jason!

While we can't say much about the quality of Rayman Raving Rabbids DS yet, we're more than happy to sing the praises of Ubisoft's marketing behind the recently-released platformer. The France-based company sent out three promotional images showing the game's villains, crazed and deranged rabbits, in various states of distress. They're not as cute as kittens playing with a Nintendo DS Lite, but not much else is. Head past the break for more artwork of the disaster-prone bunnies.

  • Widget Watch: Volkswagen creates Dashboard and Yahoo! widgets

It's nice to see the widget train making its way across the land, and yesterday I noticed that Volkswagen of all companies has even hopped on board. The German car company has released a Rabbit Widget for both Dashboard and the Yahoo! Widgets Engine that lists free public events in over a dozen US cities. The widget's design is obviously heavy on the revitalized Rabbit they seem to have replaced the Golf with; in fact, I can't find this widget anywhere else on VW's site besides the actual Rabbit page. On the right, the widget displays names of the events with small icons that help categorize said event (General Interest, Theatre, Music, etc.), and clicking on any event provides a brief description and links to more information. At first a widget like this that helps promote a German car doesn't make much sense, but part of the Rabbit's marketing campaign is all about saving you money, so a free events widget then makes a bit more sense. Ultimately, it's a unique widget with a great design that's hocking quite a few events that some of you major city goers might not otherwise know about.

  • Nabaztag hops into the US

Alright everyone, calm yourselves, we have some news: not a year and a couple of weeks since the day we first wrote about the Nabaztag, it's found a US distributor. You'll never guess who's picked it up, too. Ok, ok, we'll tell you, it's ThinkGeek. We know, you're probably hyperventilating right now, especially if you were the intended recipient of a WiFi rabbit from Engadget's Valentine's Day gift guide, but got flimflammed out getting it because it was previously only available from French sites. Well, it's time to put up a fuss, because this thing'll set you or your kind, gift giving significant other back $150 -- about right, including interest, if they never got you anything for Vday. Bienvenue en Amérique, lapin.[Thanks, Veronica]
