Though Verizon's yet to publicly confirm availability, it does appear <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/05/25/droid-incredible-2-review/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Droid Incredible 2</a> and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/03/18/htc-thunderbolt-review/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Thunderbolt</a> owners (<a href="http://www.engadget.com/editor/michael-gorman/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">like this sorry bastard</a>) are in store for a very real <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/IceCreamSandwich/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Ice Cream Sandwich</a> upgrade. Two deodexed ROMs based on purported stock 4.0.4 builds have recently hit the forums treating eager and, in the case of that latter LTE handset, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/05/26/htc-thunderbolt-issues-abound-but-a-fix-is-on-the-way/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">beleaguered</a> users to a host of performance tweaks, as well as that Sense 3.6 skin. It should go without saying that you'll need to be rooted to flash either leak and, as always, the usual warnings apply: backup first and proceed at your own risk. That said, consider this your ticket past the Big Red tape.</p>

When VZW's newest red-eyed family member -- the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/05/25/droid-incredible-2-review/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Droid Incredible 2</a> -- hit the market, it was too premature to benefit from HTC's recent <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/05/26/htc-officially-dissolves-locked-bootlader-policy/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">unlocked bootloader policy</a>. Rather than sit and wait for an official OEM retroactive solution to come, devs managed to crack the black beauty open and achieved some perm root and S-OFF goodness. With all that messy hacking business out of the way, the real ROM-flashing party's about to start courtesy of <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/05/24/new-cyanogenmod-lets-you-rule-android-app-permissions-with-an-ir/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">CyanogenMod7</a> and MIUI. If you're not familiar with the ins and outs of Android <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/rooting/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">rooting</a>, but think you're game to give this a try, <em>DroidLife's</em> got a wiki link to walk you through. As with any smartphone hack, the possibility to brick is yours to make, so enter at your own risk.<br />

Team Black Hat's got a trick or two up its (we assume) matching black sleeve and it smells like <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Gingerbread/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Gingerbread</a> 2.3.3 to us. Released via the hacking outfit's eponymous non-<a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/android+market/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Android market</a> app, this unofficial upgrade ups your <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/05/02/droid-charge-review/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Droid Charge's</a> ante -- literally, as the app costs $2.99. Available in both carrier-bloat and non-bloated varieties, custom ROM-flashing addicts can now take this leak for a spin, and always downgrade via P3Droid's handy tweeted directions. Cost-conscious Charge owners shouldn't feel sidelined since the generous blokes behind TBH intend on distributing this <em>gratis</em>... in the next 48 hours. If waiting's not your game and you need this <em>now</em>, be sure to check the source for a black-market whiff of what <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/android/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Android's</a> been serving.
