What the world needs now is just one thing, and that thing is a bejeweled Hello Kitty laptop. Fortunately, Japan's Mouse Computer is well aware of this, which is why it's unleashed the LuvBook S, pictured above. Designed in collaboration with Sanrio and Swarovski, this masterpiece is powered by a 2.2 GHz Intel Core i3-2330M processor and boasts an 11.6-inch, 1,366 x 768 display. It also packs a 500GB HDD and a 1.3 megapixel camera, but all that really matters is the swaggy centerpiece -- a heart-ensconced Hello Kitty mug made out of about 1,100 Swarovski stones and untold buckets of cuddles. The LuvBook is available now for ¥69,930 (about $900), at the source link below.

Mouse Computer's LuvBook S heals emotional scars, one Hello Kitty at a time originally appeared on Engadget on Sat, 26 Nov 2011 03:50:00 EST. It's no secret that we're very fond of Hello Kitty gadgets -- just like pretty much everyone else on the planet. And Sanrio's lucrative partnership with Mimoco has spun the famous cat's rep into... more awesome flash drives. It seems like Sanrio is always celebrating some kind of birthday, and for the company's 50th anniversary they've busted out more than their fair share of gear. This time, it's a "classic" Hello Kitty flash drive that comes in 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, and 16GB capacities. We're kind of in love with Kitty's elongated face on this model, so if you so choose, you can grab one of these up for a starting price of $34.95.
Mimoco bumps out yet another Hello Kitty flash drive to celebrate Sanrio's 50th anniversary originally appeared on Engadget on Sat, 18 Sep 2010 04:45:00 EST. You remember Moneual, right? You know -- the guys and gals playing a torrented movie on their demo unit at a trade show. Now that we're on the same page, have a look at the show-stopper above. That's the Hello Kitty-embellished MiNEW A10, or in other words, the most outrageous nettop to ever see the light of day. The wildest part is that existing A10 owners can even make their relatively sane looking machine morph into cuteness overload for the tidy sum of ₩150,000 ($123). Or you can just get a whole new rig that no one else has to know about for ₩540,000 ($443) -- totally your call there. One more frightening look is after the break.

[Via Akihabara News]
Continue reading Moneual's MiNEW A10 nettop gets preciously attacked by Hello Kitty

Moneual's MiNEW A10 nettop gets preciously attacked by Hello Kitty originally appeared on Engadget on Wed, 16 Sep 2009 09:43:00 EST. Get ready -- Hello Kitty's about to blow out the candles for her 35th anniversary -- so Sanrio's gone on an especially wild licensing tear. We see all kinds of insane HK gear around these parts, but we are, admittedly, fans of MIMOBOTS adorable storage. Now, there are not a lot of details to go on here, nothing specific, with regards to pricing or capacities -- but the Hello Kitty MIMOBOT flash drives are expected on or about the 1st of November. Similar 'bots (we checked out Darth Vader) run $19.95 for a 1GB model, and up to $49.95 for a 30GB. Meow!! Now, we're not sure -- but we're laying our bets that we can expect other fruit-inspired costumes for our feline friend above... or maybe we're just hoping to see her dressed up as a peach!

Sanrio and MIMOBOT team up to unleash some cute for Hello Kitty's 35th originally appeared on Engadget on Wed, 12 Aug 2009 01:33:00 EST. You didn't expect Hello Kitty's 35th anniversary to pass without a flurry of new products did you? Now, this is not the first Casio digital camera we've seen carrying the HK moniker, but the Exilim EX- Z2 is the first 12.1-megapixel affair we've ever seen with the meow meow on it. Bedazzled with Swarovskis and all pinked up, this Casio boasts a 2.7-inch LCD, and a 3 x optical zoom, plus the package seems to come with some other items of interest -- a camera case, lanyard, and giant poofy pink thing! All this can be yours (available for pre-order now) for $500.
There are a lot of Hello Kitty products. A lot. So many, in fact, that it's kind of hard to get excited about each and every one of them. Then again, this one's pretty sweet. Sanrio's just-announced seven-inch digital photo frames are the classic Kitty motif we know and love, with 6MB of onboard memory, SD/SDHC, MMC support via USB, and a 1W speaker. They're available in Japan now for ¥22,700.00 (about $234) in both red and white. Hopefully your retinas aren't burning, but we can definitely understand if you need to take a few minutes and resume reading later after viewing the image above. An almost unlawful amount of cuteness has mauled this otherwise average Casio EXILIM digital camera, which just so happens to boast a 9 megapixel sensor, 2.6-inch rear LCD monitor, 41.2MB of internal storage space, an SDHC card slot, 3x optical zoom lens, a video recording mode and a borderline sickening amount of crystals, pink and Hello Kitty. Those who don't mind blinding their guests each time they attempt to snap a shot can grab one now for ¥47,250 ($513), but you can probably guess what our recommendation would be.

[Via Topix]

Casio digicam gets overrun by Hello Kitty originally appeared on Engadget on Sun, 15 Feb 2009 05:04:00 EST. It's actually tough to tell whether or not this Hello Kitty "inspired" handset is real or fake, but at least Mobile-Review is claiming that the HK-adorned F305 will go on sale in Russia this March. From what we can gather, this is a rather standard F305 outside of the flamboyant exterior, boasting a two megapixel camera, M2 card slot, Motion Gaming and a ringer that only knows how to meow. We've no clue how costly this little beauty will be, but you can go ahead and bank on the fact that you'll be buying one for the Cosmo Girl in your life.

[Via eldarmurtazin, thanks c88lman]

Sony Ericsson's F305 gets mauled by Hello Kitty originally appeared on Engadget on Tue, 27 Jan 2009 08:16:00 EST. Word on the street is that Sanrio was looking for new Hello Kitty designers on the West Coast earlier last week, and if this sad little 1seg portable TV is any indication, we can see why the company's in search of fresh talent. Seriously, this is the least cute Hello Kitty gadget we've seen in a while, and we're basically suckers for the lil' imp. Japan-only, and your ¥21,000 ($197) doesn't get you anything special on the inside, either, just a 2.4-inch QVGA screen and built-in stereo speakers with a 4.5-hour battery life. Come on, Kitty -- make us love you again.

Hello Kitty 1seg portable TV lacks effort, cuteness originally appeared on Engadget on Mon, 14 Jul 2008 20:08:00 EST. Don't bother asking if the madness will ever end; you know good and well it won't. Now that we're clear, let's focus on the latest Hello Kitty-blasted laptop: the May-bound Endeavor NJ2100. Available in either a floral-inspired or airplane-dominated theme, the predominantly Pearl White machine touts <strike>rather</strike> exceptionally modest specs (shocked?) including a 15.4-inch WXGA display, 1.86GHz Intel Celeron processor, 1GB of DDR2 RAM, an 80GB hard drive, 3-in-1 multicard reader, gigabit Ethernet / WiFi and Windows Vista Home. You'll also find a FireWire socket, four USB 2.0 ports, a PC Card slot and around one measly hour of battery life from the standard cell. Totally not worth the ¥147,000 ($1,409) asking price, but then again, cuteness demands a serious, serious premium these days.

[Via Slippery Brick, thanks David]

Epson, Sanrio team up for two more Hello Kitty laptop designs originally appeared on Engadget on Sat, 26 Apr 2008 17:16:00 EST. Scary how long it's been since we've seen any new gadgetry with Her Cuteness splashed all over it, huh? Or maybe the sight of an actual Hello Kitty washing machine is what's really terrifying. Regardless, Sanrio is now marketing a washer sure to be purchased by only the hardest of hardcore fanatics, and while we've nary a clue what kind of features the unit actually possesses, we won't kid ourselves and suggest that it even matters.

Hello Kitty washing machine won't make your garb any cuter originally appeared on Engadget on Wed, 23 Apr 2008 05:32:00 EST. If the Disintegrator had you quivering in your combat boots, we'd recommend grabbing a bullet proof vest and having a seat for this one. Apparently, a fellow in California has dressed up a (legal) AR-15 assault rifle in Hello Kitty fashion for his better half, and while it'd be way too easy to pass this off as a fantastic Photoshop job, the pictures awaiting you in the read link definitely prove otherwise. Cute never looked so evil.
When you really love Hello Kitty, it's safe to say that one of anything featuring her image is never enough. If you know what we mean, you may want to check into the latest high-end entry in the canon: the NEC LaVie G Hello Kitty edition -- a follow-up to this Summer's LaVie -- once again featuring images of the ubiquitous cat studded in breathtaking Swarovski crystals. Underneath the glitz you'll find a 15.4-inch WXGA display, an AMD Turion CPU, 2GB of RAM, a 120GB hard drive, plus a DVD+RW and a handful of USB ports which will allow you to plug in your Hello Kitty flash drives and the like. Right now this sweet <strike>puppy</strike> kitty is only available in Japan, and will run you around ¥210,000 ($1,840) -- but we don't think that will stop you.

Hello Kitty gets Swarovski-studded again on the NEC LaVie G laptop originally appeared on Engadget on Wed, 26 Dec 2007 14:22:00 EST. The Hello Kitty TP dispenser is gushing with obligatory cuteness and can be programmed to dole out exactly the right amount of paper with each button press; of course, there really should be a couple of buttons to satisfy the whole family, but we digress. The unit reportedly rings up at around $220, which sounds about two bills too high unless you're already devoted to collecting all things adorned with Ms. Kitty. Ah well, at least your Hello Kitty toilet paper won't seem so out of place now, right?

Hello Kitty gets her own automatic toilet paper dispenser originally appeared on Engadget on Sun, 25 Nov 2007 19:48:00 EST. Hello Kitty has found her way onto a-many of gizmos, but the irony of Queen Cuteness showing up on her favorite prey is striking, indeed. Nevertheless, this adorable critter plays nice with Macs and PCs, reportedly boasts a 1,200dpi sensor, includes a scroll wheel and right / left click buttons, and touts one of the most un-ergonomic designs we've ever witnessed. Notably, we've no idea whether or not this piece is actually authentic, but hey, it sure looks the part and costs just $10.08.

[Via ChipChick]

Hello Kitty mouse: does it chase itself? originally appeared on Engadget on Wed, 05 Sep 2007 04:02:00 EST. If you live in a place like Japan, there are two things that probably pop into your head from time to time. One is earthquakes, because the little island has been home to some of the biggest over the years, and the other is Hello Kitty -- and she needs no introduction. Sanrio, in its infinite wisdom, has sought to join these two disparate elements by creating the Hello Kitty emergency gadget. In the event of some type of catastrophic event, Hello Kitty will be there with her hand crank USB cell phone charger, LED flashlight, AM/FM radio. hazard siren, and compass -- all in one super-cute pink package. Of course, once rescue workers find you, you still might die... of humiliation.
Filed under: Misc. Unfortunately, the Hello Kitty crock pot arrived a tick too late to be considered for any snazzy kitchenware awards, but we're sure it's a real winner in the hearts of fanboys and girls everywhere. Aiming to take the difficulty out of cooking and give even the culinarily-challenged a surefire way to concoct a solid round of soup, the HK slow cooker should handle your roasts, veggie soups, and chowders with ease, and what better to season such delicacies in than a pot full of cute? Sadly, we've no word on price nor where to purchase this fine piece of countertop cookware, but giving your future meals the ability to simmer in cheerfulness is priceless indeed.

[Via CNET]

Hello Kitty gets her own crock pot originally appeared on Engadget on Tue, 10 Apr 2007 18:43:00 EST. It's not the first Hello Kitty air purifier, it won't be the last Hello Kitty air purifier, and we wouldn't have it any other way. Oh, wow. We... we'd like to thank Sanrio for making this possible. And mom. Thanks mom! Also, Thanko, a true inspiration to superfluous USB usage. You guys rock! There are just so many people to thank, we don't want to miss anyone! Brando, for selling all that Thanko crap. We... we promised ourselves we wouldn't cry! ... *sniffle* ... so much for that. We've just never been more proud, to live on an planet where beautiful things like Hello Kitty USB foot warmers can happen. We've been freaked out quite well enough by the original Acroid DER bot, but now Kokora, a Sanrio Group company (yes, that Sanrio), is busting out Acroid DER2 with skinner arms, better hair, and a snazzy little inter-Sanrio shout-out in the form of a Hello Kitty tee. The Hello Kitty fembot, as this uncanny specimen shall be henceforth named, also includes a wider repertoire of expressions, which are supposedly smoother, making it more likely that innocent bystanders will be fooled, and hardcore robot/Hello Kitty enthusiasts like us will have haunted dreams. If you're man enough to navigate the uncanny valley, you can rent the HKfb for events for a mere 400,000 Yen ($3,389 US), which gets you 5 days with the fembot, though we suppose delivery costs to the US won't be cheap, and "choreography" charges do apply as well.

Uncanny Valley 2: Hello Kitty edition originally appeared on Engadget on Thu, 05 Oct 2006 21:08:00 EST. When will the madness of Hello Kitty gadgetry come to an end? We can't take it anymore, seriously. To review, we've seen a cellphone, Xbox, MP3 player, guitar, SD card, laptop, and tailpipe (plus lots more we couldn't find or didn't even post about) in the last two yeare. Our partners in crime over at Engadget Chinese came across the latest sighting of the queen of kawaii: a Hello Kitty mobile DVD player with a 3.5-inch screen and a three hour battery life. This whole package can be yours for 4,000 yuan, or about $500 -- not as cute as we'd thought with a price like that, but really, who can resist that puss? As proven, certainly not us.

Hello Kitty takes over portable media players originally appeared on Engadget on Wed, 20 Sep 2006 14:03:00 EST. Fear not, legions of the kawaii army, Sanrio Japan has just released an Epson Endeavor NA101 rebranded with Kitty's lovely mug (or optionally, 20 of her mugs) on the cover. You'll pay a ¥44,000 ($376) premium for this though, compared to the un-Kittyified blank NA101. But really, that's such a small price to pay to have the cutest computer in Shibuya.

Hello Kitty invades the Epson Endeavor NA101 originally appeared on Engadget on Sat, 02 Sep 2006 05:29:00 EST. (You probably already know this, but Charmmy Kitty is Hello Kitty's pet cat. Apparently no one at Sanrio thinks it's creepy that a cat would have a cat as a "pet".) Anyway, it looks like KFE Japan just announced the F1500, a Charmmy Kitty-themed 512MB digital audio player that supports playback of MP3 and WMA audio files (not sure whether that includes DRM'd WMA or not). Major downsides are no display and a paltry six hours of battery life; it's almost like they're challenging you to prove how much you love Charmmy Kitty by buying this thing.

KFE's F1500 Charmmy Kitty MP3 player originally appeared on Engadget on Tue, 22 Aug 2006 11:12:00 EST. Oh Hello Kitty, you adorable little tease -- usually the items graced with your lovely visage are priced with the budget-conscious Japanese schoolgirl in mind, but frankly we're a bit surprised to see you endorsing a product that's going for an eye-popping $21,625. That's right, for the same cost as almost a hundred of those regular Kittycaster guitars, Sanrio and renowned retailer Mitsukoshi are offering a super-limited-edition Stratocaster from Fender that features an over-sized homage to the frisky feline on the pick-guard along with a blown-up version of her famous signature on the neck. Surprisingly, your twenty grand doesn't even seem to buy the usual gold-plated, jewel-encrusted gaudiness found on most products in this price range, but what you're really paying for here is exclusivity -- Mitsukosh apparently has one of the only three models that were manufactured. Sure, we love us some Hello Kitty, but for this kind of loot we'd rather buy a ticket to Japan and camp out in one of the Sanrio stores for a few weeks, using hundreds of plush Kitties as a mattress.
