Discovery could launch its own streaming service. CEO David Zaslav (above) said that he's considering bundling the 17 channels his company picked up in last year's Scrips Networks Interactive acquisition into a service that'd cost between $5 and $8 per month.

Discovery has its annual Shark Week event again, and from what I can see, at least there are no alien shark documentaries on the list this year. Meanwhile Netflix is premiering its latest studio castoff sci-fi film, Extinction plus a new season of Orange is the New Black, as No Man's Sky will reintroduce itself with the big Next expansion and debut on Xbox One. Hulu is streaming the first episode of Stephen King's Castle Rock series while Amazon goes behind the scenes of Tour de France food with Eat.Race.Win. and movie fans can get Steven Spielberg's Ready Player One on Blu-ray. Also, it's time for the Overwatch League finals, streaming on Twitch and airing on ESPN, Disney XD and ABC. Look after the break to check out each day's highlights, including trailers and let us know what you think (or what we missed).

Shark Week is in full swing on Discovery, as the network tries to find even more shark-related programming it somehow hasn't covered yet. (The answer, apparently, is to just make stuff up -- we won't be fooled again by Alien Sharks and Ninja Sharks.) Still, Sunday night is packed, with the return of Ray Donavan, Masters of Sex and The Strain. Comedy Central has more Key & Peele, plus the debut of Hannibal Burress' new show Why? On streaming Netflix is bringing a new Chris Tucker comedy special, and will also post Monsters: Dark Continent this week. It's a sequel to the movie Monsters, which if you saw it, you probably also saw on Netflix streaming. In gaming, Rocket League is coming to PC, and on PS4 as a PlayStation Plus game. Look after the break to check out each day's highlights, including trailers and let us know what you think (or what we missed).

Beyond the summer TV shows already running (VH1's Dating Naked is exactly what you'd expect, The Leftovers and The Strain are improving and FX has two good comedies in Married and You're the Worst), and Discovery kicking off Shark Week on Sunday night, there are a few new shows this week worth mentioning. Steven Soderbergh and Clive Owen bring The Knick to Cinemax, which puts a twist on the usual doctor drama by transferring the scene back to 1900. Starz is ready with "Scotland's Answer to Game of Thrones" aka Outlander, a book adaptation about a British Army nurse who time travels from 1945 to 1743. Fans of Grand Theft Auto and The Boondocks should keep an eye out for Black Jesus on Adult Swim, which is created by Aaron Macgruder and stars Gerald "Slink" Johnson (aka Lamar from GTA V and the guy in this Everest College parody). On Blu-ray, Baltimore documentary 12 O'Clock Boys Bill Murray's The Man Who Knew Too Little and cult classic Phantom of the Paradise are probably more worth your time than Divergent or Need for Speed. Check after the break for a list of what's new this week plus a few trailers, and drop a note in the comments if you see any highlights we've missed.

This week continues to be all about the London 2012 Olympics, with most shows diving out of the way of NBC's ratings juggernaut. We do have a few premiers and several season finales though, so give the schedule a close look to make sure you don't miss a favorite's wrap-up. Also on deck is a healthy slate of preseason football, while we've got most of the national broadcasts listed, you'll want to keep an eye out for your local team. Also worth noting? A slew of flicks hitting Blu-ray this week including personal favorites Clue and Adventures in Babysitting. Look below for the highlights this week, followed after the break by our weekly listing of what to look out for in TV, Blu-ray and videogames. Olympics For a second week in a row, it's all about the Olympics, in one way or another. Either you're watching and keeping up with early starting schedules from London or you're not watching, and your favorite summer shows are on hiatus. No matter which side you're on, things wrap up this weekend with the Closing Ceremony, although not soon enough for NBC to try to slipstream two sitcom premieres off of the Games' popularity with Go On and Animal Practice. (All Week, NBC & NBCOlympics.com) Shark Week Discovery's Shark Week kicks off its 25th year Sunday night with two specials, including Air Jaws Apocalypse and Impossible Shot. This time around the big hook is internet integration since it's hosted by "internet celebrity" Philip DeFranco, has tie-ins with Discovery's iPad app for second screen info, and encourages voting on the Facebook / Twitter page to determine what the robotic Sharkzilla will crush next. Whatever, as long as they bring the sharks, we'll always be there. (August 12th, Discovery, 9PM) Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell Produced by Chris Rock, this comedy series has been pushed as hard by FC as NBC is pushing its new premieres for the week, but with Chris Rock as a producer and the network's track record (Louie, Wilfred -- we'll forget Brand X and the Charlie Sheen show) we actually might check it out. Six episodes long, its run begins this week broadcasting Bell's commentary and sketch comedy -- check out a quick behind the scenes look embedded after the break.

Do you really have to check the calendar to know what time of year it is? That's right baby, it's Shark Week, and as usual, Discovery's taking a midsummer break to bring everything shark related to its prime time lineup. This year, Discovery follows up on one of the most-watched Shark Week specials of all time, Air Jaws, with Ultimate Air Jaws August 1 at 9 p.m., with 2,000 fps HD footage of great white sharks leaping out of the water to attack seals. Even if that's not enough details (and time, with one second of footage expanded to an entire minute) to count every tooth in the shark's mouth as the press release breathlessly claims, then check out Into the Shark Bite, where they inserted high speed HD cameras -- where else -- directly into a shark's jaws.%Gallery-98502%

We advise US Xbox Live members to swim on over to the XBLM to download a few newly free themes and gamer pictures. Discovery Channel is celebrating the 20th Anniversary of Shark Week by giving away a (somewhat bland) shark theme and a set of shark gamer pictures. And what more can we say, they're sharky? But if you hate sharks or just like Doritos, then you'll be pleased to know that there is also a free Unlock Xbox inspired theme and gamer picture set available too.And allow us to vent a little here and point out that the Unlock Xbox theme bothers the heck out of us. Why? Because the background colors don't match the freakin' blade colors! It looks like the designers tried to match the colors, but got sort of confused by the time they painted the media blade. Hey theme makers, is it that hard to match a few colors? End rant.Read - Free Shark Week downloadsRead - Free Unlock Xbox downloads
