<div style="text-align: left;">If you're savvy enough to want to use the Facebook Mobile app, we're guessing you're savvy enough to get it up and running on your phone or portable -- so buying an additional device for responding to friend requests seems a little silly. Hopefully, AdelaVoice (a company that develops voice-enabled apps for the Internet and social networks) has more plans for its Lighthouse SQ7 than what we see here. Based on the Linux-powered <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/06/smartq-7-is-an-internet-tablet-with-dedicated-fn/">SmartQ7</a> <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/10/smartq-7-internet-tablet-spotted-in-the-wild-priced/">Internet</a> <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/17/smartq-7-mid-unboxing/">tablet</a>, the heart of this bad boy is a UI that allows you access to Facebook, Twitter, the web, and an image slideshow. But that ain't all! Taking advantage of Webkit's integrated voice recognition, this thing will let you input text through the mic -- perfect for posting to Facebook or tweeting sans stylus. Perhaps for some people these features might be a big deal, but we've been asking around -- and we have yet to find anyone who'll 'fess up. We have to admit, though -- what this thing does do, it seems to do pretty well. Tell you what, AdelaVoice -- add JDate and Classmates.com and we'll give the thing another shot, okay? Video after the break. <br />

<div align="left">The folks over at UMPC Portal have gotten a hold of the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/17/smartq-7-mid-unboxing/">SmartQ 7 internet tablet</a> for a nice, long review. The MID, which has a 667MHz Samsung ARM S3C6410 CPU, 128MB of RAM, and 1GB of flash memory, seems to handle its basic tasks -- MP3 playback, light browsing, PDF viewing, and viewing / editing documents fairly well. It also apparently has a pretty great battery life, and can stay juiced in standby mode for over three days. The tablet (which is somewhat reminiscent of the yet to appear in the wild <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/04/10/michael-arrington-drops-science-on-crunchpad-still-wont-sell-u/">CrunchPad</a>) does, however, have plenty of drawbacks -- a touchscreen that often responds incorrectly, limited RAM and storage, and a bunch of other limitations we're used to associating with MIDs in general. There's a video highlighting some of the SmartQ 7's apps after the break; hit the read link for the full review. <br /><br /></div>

Our compatriots at <em>Engadget Chinese</em> just got ahold of that surprisingly attractive <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/06/smartq-7-is-an-internet-tablet-with-dedicated-fn/">SmartQ 7 MID</a>, and have given the thing a proper unboxing. Hands-on impressions are on the way as well, but it's not hard to see that despite the continued pointlessness of MIDs in most practical applications, they're only getting better. Except for the ones <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/04/24/model-2-production-seen-as-unlikely-says-oqo-exec/">that aren't</a>.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handhelds/" rel="tag">Handhelds</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/17/smartq-7-mid-unboxing/">SmartQ 7 MID unboxing</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sun, 17 May 2009 08:13:00 EST. A few more of the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/internet+tablet">tablet's</a> specs have emerged since our initial gander, including the fact that it'll house a 667MHz Samsung ARM S3C6410 CPU, 128MB of RAM, and 1GB of flash memory. Apparently, a limited number of these bad boys will be available in China in the next two months, and it's expected to run CNY1,289 (about $190). <br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.pocketables.net/2009/05/smartq-7-internet-tablet-gets-pictured-and-priced.html">Pocketables</a>]<br /></div> </div><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handhelds/" rel="tag">Handhelds</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portablevideo/" rel="tag">Portable Video</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/10/smartq-7-internet-tablet-spotted-in-the-wild-priced/">SmartQ 7 Internet Tablet spotted in the wild, priced</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sun, 10 May 2009 19:15:00 EST. Oh look, another 7-inch device with an identity crisis. Too big to be called a smartphone, definitely not a netbook, it must be a MID, UMPC, or maybe a PMP. Wait, we see it now, the SmartQ 7 aspires to be an "Internet Tablet." Good, because its <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/05/04/samsungs-single-chip-7-inch-lcd/">WVGA</a> (800ish x 480 pixel) resolution is the same as Toshiba's 4.1-inch <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/tg01">TG01</a> (to name <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/09/15/htcs-touch-hd-unveiled-in-very-much-official-glory/">just</a> <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/10/02/kddi-shows-off-samsung-made-3-1-inch-wvga-oled-display-3d-lcd-p/">one</a> <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/07/04/htc-omni-revealed-with-gps-and-vga-tv-out/">smaller device</a>) only stretched across a 7-inch touchscreen display -- not exactly ideal for video in 2009. The SmartQ 7 runs an unspecified Linux distro with specs that include WiFi, a USB-host mode, stereo speakers, and up to 2-days of music off a single charge to its 4500mAh Li-Poly battery. More importantly, there's a dedicated FN button along the top for instant fun. No launch date or price but we've got the backside, front, after the break.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.pocketables.net/2009/05/smartq-7-internet-tablet-mid-revealed.html">Pocketables</a>]<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/06/smartq-7-is-an-internet-tablet-with-dedicated-fn/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>SmartQ 7 is an Internet Tablet with dedicated FN</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handhelds/" rel="tag">Handhelds</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portablevideo/" rel="tag">Portable Video</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/06/smartq-7-is-an-internet-tablet-with-dedicated-fn/">SmartQ 7 is an Internet Tablet with dedicated FN</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 06 May 2009 03:45:00 EST.
