Ultra Street Fighter 4, the new wing of Capcom's palatial Street Fighter estate, is coming to consoles in early June. In a post over on the Capcom-Unity blog, it's revealed the add-on for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Super Street Fighter 4 will arrive in early June for $15, while the PC update will arrive two months later in August. The full digital bundle and retail versions – which include all of the released costumes and the base Super Street Fighter 4 game – will also come to consoles in August for $40, while Capcom is giving PC players the digital bundle for $30 in August since they have to wait longer for the new challengers. Capcom announced Ultra Street Fighter 4 at this year's EVO fighting game tournament. Ultra Street Fighter 4 introduces five new characters: Rolento, Poison, Hugo, Elena and one character that has yet to be revealed. Capcom has no plans to release Ultra Street Fighter 4 on PS4 and Xbox One.

  • Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition 'Ver. 2012' character changes detailed

The Street Fighter series has a bit of a bad reputation for its iterative, somewhat convoluted and seemingly redundant naming scheme. Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, for instance, may sound bombastic and even a bit pretentious, but to the initiated, each word carries a specific and meaningful weight. The fighting game world has its own vernacular, and if you're not fluent we recommend grabbing a translator, because we're about to go native: Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition's upcoming balance patch, Ver. 2012, has been painstaking detailed over at Capcom Unity ahead of the update's field trial. Minor tweaks and adjustments are in store for every character across the board, however Gouken, Yun, Yang, Evil Ryu, Fei Long and Hakan have been changed fairly dramatically in order to address global balance issues. Capcom says their focus is on "buffing up weaker characters, rather than nerfing existing ones," but a quick glance at Yun and Yang's drastically altered figures suggests otherwise, not that we're complaining. All the nitty gritty details are after the break for your viewing pleasure, but we're mainly focused on Dan's awesome buffs, which make him the "strongest version of Dan ever in a Street Fighter," according to Capcom Unity. Just you wait, you won't be able to swing a dead cat without hitting a Dan at next year's EVO. Saikyō-Ryū, baby!

Capcom canned plans to release vanilla Super Street Fighter 4 for PC due to piracy concerns, but then the company announced SSF4: Arcade Edition for the PC back in April. And so Arcade Edition will be released for PC this July, but today we also learn it'll be on Steam. The digital retailer is currently accepting pre-orders for the latest edition of SF4, priced at $40. While it can't be purchased as DLC for the super vanilla Street Fighter 4 (which was released for PC and apparently sold well), Steam owners of the original game will be granted a 10 percent discount on Super Arcade Edition (bringing the price down to $36). Hit the jump for Arcade Edition's system requirements.
