Speaking of video games (which we seem to be doing a lot these days), we'll also pay a visit to the newly reborn <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/07/new-yorks-chinatown-fair-arcade-hits-reset-plays-a-new-game/">Chinatown Fair</a> and speak to the directors of <em>Indie Game: The Movie</em>. Yep, we're hitting the Times Center this month, but don't worry, we've got plenty of show to fill up the space. We'll be kicking things off by checking out February's hottest gadgets, including the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/10/motorola-droid-4-review/">Droid 4</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/15/atandt-galaxy-note-review/">AT&amp;T's Galaxy Note</a>, the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/13/playstation-vita-review/">PlayStation Vita</a> and Apple's newly announced OS X <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/16/apple-os-x-mountain-lion-10-8-in-depth-preview/">Mountain Lion</a>.<br /> <br /> Next up, Brian takes a trip to Toy Fair in NYC and comes back with a table full of some of the coolest products of the show -- helicopter flying and water pellet gunfire ensue. Then we head to Asbury Park, NJ to check out the Silverball Museum, for some Springsteen-worshiping pinball action, and Michael Gorman visits the Googleplex in Mountain View, to get to the bottom of Google Translate. We cap the show off with a performance and conversation with DJ Spooky, who tells us all about his iPad app and his latest project, <em>The Book of Ice</em>.<br /> <br /> <strong>Hosts:</strong> Tim Stevens, Brian Heater<br /> <span style="font-weight: bold;">Special guests: </span><a href="http://www.djspooky.com/">DJ Spooky</a>, Josh Estelle<br /> <span style="font-weight: bold;">Producer:</span> Guy Streit<br /> <strong>Director</strong>: Michelle Stahl<br /> <strong>Executive Producers:</strong> Joshua Fruhlinger, Brian Heater and Michael Rubens<br /> <br /> <strong>Download the Show: </strong><a href="http://avideos.5min.com//422/5173422/517342101_4.mp4" target="_blank">The Engadget Show - 030</a> (HD) / <a href="http://avideos.5min.com//422/5173422/517342101_2.mp4" target="_blank">The Engadget Show - 030</a> (iPod / iPhone / Zune formatted) / <a href="http://avideos.5min.com//422/5173422/517342101_1.mp4">The Engadget Show - 030</a> (Small)<br /> <br /> <strong>Subscribe to the Show:</strong><br /> <br /> [<a href="http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=333047486">iTunes</a>] Subscribe to the Show directly in iTunes (MP4).<br /> [<a href="http://social.zune.net/my/ContentRedirect.ashx?mid=72550ef0-14eb-47f5-8a2f-90eb5e08caa0&amp;mtype=Podcast&amp;CampaignID=1&amp;affiliateID=">Zune</a>] Subscribe to the Show directly in the Zune Marketplace (MP4).<br /> [<a href="http://www.engadget.com/engadgetshow.xml">RSS MP4</a>] Add the Engadget Show feed (MP4) to your RSS aggregator and have it delivered automatically.<br /> [<a href="http://www.engadget.com/engadgetshow_hd.xml">HD RSS</a>] Get the Engadget Show delivered automatically in HD.<br /> [<a href="http://www.engadget.com/engadgetshow_adaptive.xml">iPad RSS</a>] Get the Engadget Show in iPad-friendly adaptive format.</div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/24/the-engadget-show-30-dj-spooky-google-toy-fair-and-a-pinball/">The Engadget Show 30: DJ Spooky, Google, Toy Fair and a pinball museum</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Fri, 24 Feb 2012 13:00:00 EST. Guys, haven't you heard? We've got our own stage at the Las Vegas Convention Center this year, right in the thick of the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show. And all week we'll be delivering <i>live</i> podcasts, as well as nonstop interviews with some of the most prominent companies setup here on the floor. Keep it locked here all week for the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/ces">usual CES blitz</a>, and if you're curious as to what the stage itself takes to operate, there's a video above that deserves your attention.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/01/11/a-behind-the-scenes-look-at-the-engadget-ces-stage/">A behind the scenes look at the Engadget CES stage!</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 11 Jan 2012 10:00:00 EST. Hope you weren't planning on falling asleep tonight. We've got a very spooky episode of The Engadget Show coming at you this week. We get a behind the scenes tour of the technology that goes into running Manhattan's <strong>Nightmare</strong> haunted house. And we swing by <strong>New York Comic Con</strong>, to discuss the state of digital comics and shoot the breeze with geek legends <strong>Mark Hamill</strong> and <strong>Stan Lee</strong>.<br />
		<br />
		We also announce the winners of our <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/10/19/poll-vote-for-your-favorite-frankengadget/">Frankengadget</a> contest and give away the clothes from Tim's back to the winner of our in-studio costume contest, courtesy of <a href="http://Halloweencostumes.com">Halloweencostumes.com</a> -- oh, did we mention that Tim and Brian and dressed as Darth Vader and a storm trooper this whole episode? Because they are.<br />
		<br />

Brian pays a visit to the folks at <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/FrogDesign/">Frog</a> to discuss the company's long history and take a look at some of its industry shaping designs.<br />
		<br />

Ferrari's been one of the most respected car manufacturers in the world since the 1940s, but it hasn't <em>exactly</em> gotten there by being bleeding-edge. In the early '60s, when rear-engined cars were sweeping the charts in Formula One, Il Commendatore -- Enzo Ferrari -- refused to take one racing, famously saying "the horse doesn't push the cart along with its nose." It would take many humiliating defeats before his company would finally put that horse where it belongs. Being an early adopter, obviously, was not a priority. It's only in the past few years, with cars like the Enzo and 458 Italia, that Ferrari has truly embraced modern ideas of whizz-bang tech to make their cars genuinely faster -- not just easier to drive.<br />
<br />
That's just the beginning. Automotive technology is finally starting to accelerate the way personal computing devices have for the past few decades. New means of propulsion are combining with ever-greater integrated systems and it's easy to see this as leading us toward a generation of cars faster and still more efficient than anything we've yet seen on the roads. Ferrari calls this four-wheeled singularity the "hypercar," and to get an idea of just what that car of the future might look like it invited 50 teams of designers from major universities around the world to compete. Join us as we look at some of the best creations.<br />

It's another action-packed episode of the Engadget Show! Tim, Brian and Dana start things off by taking a look at the latest devices from RIM and discussing the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/BlackBerry/">BlackBerry's future</a> -- or lack thereof -- in the consumer space. Also on the reviews table is the latest in iPhone 5 KIRF technology.<br />
<br />
Next up, Tim travels all the way to Italy, to get a tour or <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/08/12/ferrari-president-luca-di-montezemelo-doesnt-believe-in-electri/">Ferrari's factories</a> and discuss what the high performance sports car might look like in the years and decades to come (hint: it will probably be red).<br />
<br />
Fusion Garage Founder and CEO <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/08/16/the-engadget-interview-fusion-garages-chandra-rathakrishnan/">Chandra Rathakrishnan</a> pops by the studio to show off the Grid 10 and Grid 4 and discuss why his company deserves another chance. Brian maxes out our travel budget swinging by <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/08/09/near-times-square-come-see-engadget-on-a-really-big-screen/?utm_source=feedburner&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Feed%3A+weblogsinc%2Fengadget+%28Engadget%29">Times Square</a> to put Engadget's name in lights on some cool new interactive billboards.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://www.eff.org/">Electronic Frontier Foundation</a> staff attorney Julie Samuels pays us a visit to discuss the state of patent law in the US, in the wake of Google's recently announced <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/08/15/google-acquiring-motorola-mobility/">Motorola acquisition</a>. Also, what the heck is up with the whole <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/04/18/apple-sues-samsung-over-for-copying-the-iphone-and-ipad/">Apple / Samsung</a> thing anyway? The show wraps up with a solo, guitar pedal-filled performance by <a href="http://www.partsandlabor.net/">Parts &amp; Labor's</a> Dan Friel.<br />
<br />

A few months back, we were granted unprecedented access to Westone's lair (just a year and change after <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/12/25/klipsch-headquarters-walkthrough-behind-the-scenes-and-between/">visiting Klipsch's HQ</a>), and they even let a film crew in for good measure. The goal? To show you, the budding audiophile, exactly how a set of custom in-ear monitors are crafted, and what kind of work goes into creating one of the planet's most diminutive speaker arrangements. We've whipped up the entire experience there in the video above, but if you're looking for a more textual perspective, head on past the break.<br /> <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/westone-headquarters-walkthrough-the-making-of-an-in-ear-monitor/">Westone headquarters walkthrough (the making of an in-ear monitor)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/westone-headquarters-walkthrough-the-making-of-an-in-ear-monitor/#4244177"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2011/06/westone-headquarters-walkthrough-2011-engadget-show8349_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/westone-headquarters-walkthrough-the-making-of-an-in-ear-monitor/#4244176"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2011/06/westone-headquarters-walkthrough-2011-engadget-show8350_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/westone-headquarters-walkthrough-the-making-of-an-in-ear-monitor/#4244175"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2011/06/westone-headquarters-walkthrough-2011-engadget-show8351_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/westone-headquarters-walkthrough-the-making-of-an-in-ear-monitor/#4244174"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2011/06/westone-headquarters-walkthrough-2011-engadget-show8352_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/westone-headquarters-walkthrough-the-making-of-an-in-ear-monitor/#4244173"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2011/06/westone-headquarters-walkthrough-2011-engadget-show8353_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div></p><p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/08/09/westone-lab-tour-how-in-ear-monitors-are-made-from-impressions/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Westone lab tour: how in-ear monitors are made, from impressions to impressing (video)</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/08/09/westone-lab-tour-how-in-ear-monitors-are-made-from-impressions/">Westone lab tour: how in-ear monitors are made, from impressions to impressing (video)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 09 Aug 2011 12:00:00 EST. We kick things off with a trip to the Engadget Laboratories, where Brian and Terrence test out some sub-$100 headphones on a quartet of guinea pigs. Do you really get what you pay for when you buy a pair of earbuds from your local Big Box retailer?<br /> <br /> Things get a bit ritzier when Darren tours Westone's laboratories in Colorado to find out how a pair of $950 in-ear headphones are made. Hint: it involves squirting silicone into our managing editor's ears and a whole lot of sanding.<br /> <br /> Next up, we stop by the reviews table, where Tim and Brian take a look at this month's most exciting gadgets, including the new <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/07/25/macbook-air-review-mid-2011/">MacBook Air</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/06/28/sonys-new-vaio-z-ultraportable-laptop-with-power-media-dock-han/">Sony Vaio Z</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/07/22/toshiba-thrive-review/">Toshiba Thrive</a>, and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/07/21/motorola-droid-3-review/">Droid 3</a>.<br /> <br /> John Flansburgh and John Linnell of They Might Be Giants pay a visit to Engadget headquarters to show off some of their favorite lo-fi musical gadgets, including the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/02/04/build-your-own-stylophone-be-slightly-more-like-david-bowie/">Stylophone</a> and a circuit-bent Speak and Spell. Also, if you've ever wondered what the long reigning kings of underground geek rock would sound like given the T-Pain treatment, this is a segment you're not gonna want to miss.<br /> <br /> Universal Republic Records' VP Digital Colleen Quill also stops by to discuss the role of the major label in the world of Twitter, iTunes, Spotify, and the like. And we wrap things up with a performance by New York City's own <a href="http://cookiesltd.com/">Cookies</a>.<br /> <br /> The video stream of the show is above, and you can also download us in HD below. Oh, and if you're still waiting for some Spotify invites, don't worry -- we've <a href="http://www.spotify.com/us/engadget/ ">got you covered</a>.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/the-engadget-show-july-2011/">The Engadget Show - July 2011</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/the-engadget-show-july-2011/4324492/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2011/07/2008-05-02-dsc9978_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/the-engadget-show-july-2011/4324493/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2011/07/2008-05-02-dsc9989_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/the-engadget-show-july-2011/4324494/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2011/07/2008-05-02-dsc9990_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/the-engadget-show-july-2011/4324495/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2011/07/2008-05-02-dsc9991_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/the-engadget-show-july-2011/4324496/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2011/07/2008-05-02-dsc9992_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /> <br /> <strong>Hosts:</strong> Tim Stevens, Brian Heater<br /> <span style="font-weight: bold;">Special guests:</span> Terrence O'Brien, <a href="http://www.theymightbegiants.com/">They Might Be Giants</a> , Colleen Quill<br /> <span style="font-weight: bold;">Producer:</span> Guy Streit<br /> <strong>Director</strong>: Michelle Stahl<br /> <strong>Executive Producers:</strong> Joshua Fruhlinger and Michael Rubens<br /> <strong>Music by:</strong> <a href="http://cookiesltd.com/">Cookies</a><br /> <br /><strong>Download the Show: </strong><a href="http://lvideos.5min.com//420/5173420/517341952_4.mp4" target="_blank">The Engadget Show - 023</a><strong> </strong>(HD) / <a href="http://lvideos.5min.com//420/5173420/517341952_2.mp4" target="_blank">The Engadget Show - 023</a> (iPod / iPhone / Zune formatted) / <a href="http://lvideos.5min.com//420/5173420/517341952_1.mp4">The Engadget Show - 023</a> (Small)<br /> <br /> <strong>Subscribe to the Show:</strong><br /> <br /> [<a href="http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=333047486">iTunes</a>] Subscribe to the Show directly in iTunes (MP4).<br /> [<a href="http://social.zune.net/my/ContentRedirect.ashx?mid=72550ef0-14eb-47f5-8a2f-90eb5e08caa0&amp;mtype=Podcast&amp;CampaignID=1&amp;affiliateID=">Zune</a>] Subscribe to the Show directly in the Zune Marketplace (MP4).<br /> [<a href="http://www.engadget.com/engadgetshow.xml">RSS MP4</a>] Add the Engadget Show feed (MP4) to your RSS aggregator and have it delivered automatically.<br /> [<a href="http://www.engadget.com/engadgetshow_hd.xml">HD RSS</a>] Get the Engadget Show delivered automatically in HD.<br /> [<a href="http://www.engadget.com/engadgetshow_adaptive.xml">iPad RSS</a>] Get the Engadget Show in iPad-friendly adaptive format.</p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/07/28/the-engadget-show-023-we-tour-a-headphone-factory-talk-recor/">The Engadget Show - 023: We tour a headphone factory, talk record labels, and look at They Might Be Giants' favorite gadgets</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 28 Jul 2011 12:00:00 EST. Gather round everyone, while you may have gotten used to accessing Engadget via the browser or any one of our <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/EngadgetApp/">mobile apps</a>, starting today we're ready to come home in one more way: on your TV. Launching on Boxee, Roku, Yahoo! Widgets and DivX is a new AOL HD package which includes a channel full of our videos ready for viewing on big screens. This way, when you want to kick back and enjoy a new hands-on video, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/show">The Engadget Show</a> or any of our other content it's only as far away as your remote control, which is probably also your phone, PC or tablet. There's plenty more to come in the future -- we'll figure out an in-app <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/screengrabs">Screen Grabs</a> submission tool somehow -- but for now we're happy to have an official outlet on some of the most widely available connected TV platforms out there. The AOL HD app will begin showing up today, check out the gallery for a few screenshots of us on each of the platforms.<br />
