Apple bought the company that exposed its flawed firmware
What do you do when researchers create a worm that infects your company's firmware? If you're Apple, you buy the researchers. Last August, news broke of a exploit named "Thunderstrike 2." Delivered by a simple link, the worm could silently modify a Mac's firmware, meaning that even an OS reinstall wouldn't remove it. Thankfully, the researchers responsibly informed Apple of the issue, and the company had mostly solved this particular problem before it went public.
OS X Yosemite update tackles 'surprise' Mac security flaws
You know those unpatched Mac security exploits that Google revealed a few days ago? You probably won't have to worry about them any more. Apple has released OS X Yosemite 10.10.2, a hefty update that fixes those vulnerabilities, which let an intruder hijack your system in the right circumstances. There's also a solution for Thunderstrike, a nasty (if unlikely) attack that would compromise your computer through a malicious Thunderbolt device. Most of the other 10.10.2 tweaks aren't huge, although you'll probably like having access to iCloud Drive storage in your Time Machine backups. You'll definitely want to grab the upgrade, even if you don't need some of the smaller perks -- it should go quite some distance toward safeguarding your Mac.
Patch 3.2.2 PTR: New Onyxia loot revealed
Onyxia's loot is coming into focus on the test server, and we here at WoW.com's secret headquarters are pretty much sitting here drooling and gabbling incoherently over it. As promised, we're seeing the promised buffed up Onyxia loot, but it looks like Onyxia's been doing some raiding of her own, coming back with upgraded versions of some other classic raid loot as well. Also, the Quel'serrar is back.The promised helms are in, and so far, it looks like they're the same color and model as the old T2 exactly, and they are still class restricted. Luckily, they have stuck with the improved itemization and stat outlays that have come into play since vanilla. In fact, you'll exactly see multiple versions of many helms dropping, one for each basic playstyle of the class. For example, there's tanking, healing, and DPS versions of Judgment. If there's one downside for this, it seems like it means it may take a lot of runs until you see the helm for your exact spec drop.
