When Palm announced the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/05/30/palm-foleo-hands-on/">ho-hum Foleo</a> a few weeks back, much of the world was underwhelmed by the idea of carrying around yet another device. The catch here is that Hawkins believes future Treos may not need keyboards since apparently everyone will use a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/05/30/palm-foleo-announced/">Foleo</a> hooked wirelessly to a Treo for all that broadband goodness. Hawkins has a respectable track record, but this one seems far off the mark. Perhaps Levis can make a Foleo-sized front pocket in those new 505s, eh?<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/palm/" rel="tag">Palm</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/06/19/foleo-to-spawn-keyboard-less-treos/">Foleo to spawn keyboard-less Treos?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 19 Jun 2007 18:50:00 EST. Both are geared at business users and prosumers more than regular consumers, although Palm's consumer-level Treo 680 has been available on AT&amp;T's network for a while now. Will a CDMA version of the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/10/12/hands-on-with-the-treo-680/">Treo 680</a> come to Sprint soon to sit alongside the 755p? To hit a consumer price point, this makes sense for Palm. The 680 and 755p would be in two different price categories due to the feature sets and software being different and the target customer being different as well. If the carrier wants to sell more data plans to its normal consumer base, a 680-like device could be just the ticket -- if it happens.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/palm/" rel="tag">Palm</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/sprint/" rel="tag">Sprint</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/06/05/palm-treo-680-on-sprint-makes-sense/">Palm Treo 680 on Sprint? Awww, don't pretend like you didn't know it was coming: Palm officially bounced out the long-rumored <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/search/?q=755p">Treo 755p</a> today. The 755p is only an incremental upgrade to the <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2006/06/12/unpacking-the-palm-treo-700p-sprint/">Treo 700p</a> which came out about a year ago -- anyone expecting a full upgrade better keep waiting. Consequently, the specs aren't anything too surprising: 320 x 320 pixel display, 128MB of RAM, 321MHz XScale processor, EV-DO Rev. 0, miniSD memory card slot (up to 4GB), 1600mAh Li-Ion battery, Bluetooth 1.2, 1.3 megapixel camera, and runs on Palm OS 5.4.9. Available exclusively from Sprint -- at least for the time being -- in two colors, burgundy (yeah, burgundy) and blue. Retail price will be $279.99 with service agreement.<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/05/09/palm-treo-755p-gets-official/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Palm Treo 755p gets official</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/cellphones/" rel="tag">Cellphones</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/05/09/palm-treo-755p-gets-official/">Palm Treo 755p gets official</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 09 May 2007 00:01:00 EST. We got more package porn here for ya today, though this time it isn't our own. Engadget Mobile reader and self-proclaimed Gadget Guru Andy Pargh hooked us up with some shots he snapped of him tearing open his box to reveal the sweet, sweet treasure within -- the 700p. Looks like Sprint didn't get <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/05/22/sprint-gets-last-laugh-shipping-700p-before-vzw/">the last laugh</a> after all -- unless some of you already have a Sprint 700p and have been holding out on us. Don't hold out on us, people!<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/05/24/unpacking-the-treo-700p/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Unpacking the Treo 700p</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/palm/" rel="tag">Palm</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/verizon-wireless/" rel="tag">Verizon Wireless</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/palm-os/" rel="tag">Palm OS</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/1xrtt/" rel="tag">1xRTT</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/ev-do/" rel="tag">EV-DO</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/cdma/" rel="tag">CDMA</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/05/24/unpacking-the-treo-700p/">Unpacking the Treo 700p</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 24 May 2006 14:34:00 EST. By now pretty much everyone (at least everyone who cares) knows full well that Sprint is getting ready to intro Palm's new <a href="http://www.engadget.com/search/?q=treo+700p">Treo 700p</a> sometime later this month, but what's been a little less clear is when (if ever) Sprint was going to get the Treo 700w, the Windows Mobile-powered version which Verizon currently has an exclusive on. Well, we don't have an exact release date, but a highly reliable source has been able to confirm for us that Sprint will indeed be getting the Treo 700w and that they'll be launching it about four to eight weeks after they launch the Treo 700p. <br /><br />P.S. - Yup, that's the Verizon version of the 700w pictured above; we have yet to see any images of the Sprint-branded version.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/palm/" rel="tag">Palm</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/sprint/" rel="tag">Sprint</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/verizon-wireless/" rel="tag">Verizon Wireless</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/palm-os/" rel="tag">Palm OS</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/ev-do/" rel="tag">EV-DO</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/05/11/treo-700w-coming-to-sprint-this-summer/">Treo 700w coming to Sprint this summer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 11 May 2006 13:49:00 EST. Looks like Sprint may have slightly delayed the launch everybody, to May 28th, according to what appears to be an internal launch calendar that was leaked to TreoCentral's discussion boards. It pretty much clearly outlines the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/search/?q=700p">Treo 700p</a> getting launched alongside the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/search/?q=7130">Blackberry 7130i</a> and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/03/21/lg-lx550-ev-do-mp3-clamshell-to-launch-in-may/">LG LX550</a> -- which seems a little odd that they'd cloud the launch of a new flagship smartphone with two slightly less buzzworthy devices. That is unless they want these phones to ride the Treo's coattails. Either way, guess now we'll know what's up if and when mid-May passes without word about the phone.<br /><br />P.S. - Did you know it's Sprint's five-star service month? All other months are apparently four or less stars. So be warned, if you have to call for support, contract issues, service changes, or anything else that might require you speaking to a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/search/?q=sprint">Sprint</a> rep, do it in May.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://gadgetsonthego.net/2006/05/sprint-treo-700p-launch-date-confirmed.html">Gadgets on the Go</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/palm/" rel="tag">Palm</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/sprint/" rel="tag">Sprint</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/palm-os/" rel="tag">Palm OS</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/ev-do/" rel="tag">EV-DO</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/cdma/" rel="tag">CDMA</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/05/09/palm-treo-700p-to-launch-may-28th/">Palm Treo 700p to launch May 28th?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 09 May 2006 22:49:00 EST. So be warned, if you have to call for support, contract issues, service changes, or anything else that might require you speaking to a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/search/?q=sprint">Sprint</a> rep, do it in May.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://gadgetsonthego.net/2006/05/sprint-treo-700p-launch-date-confirmed.html">Gadgets on the Go</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/cellphones/" rel="tag">Cellphones</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/05/09/palm-treo-700p-to-launch-may-28th/">Palm Treo 700p and BlackBerry 7130i to launch May 28th?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 09 May 2006 22:49:00 EST. Alright, this is just <a
href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/04/21/palm-treo-700p-on-verizon-sooner-than-we-think/">getting</a> <a
href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/03/19/another-700p-pic/">silly</a>. Either Palm's much rumored -- and quite
anticipated -- <a href="http://engadgetmobile.com/search/?q=700p">700p</a> is the worst kept secret in the industry, or
the fakesters are getting a whole lot better. The newest pics are from a supposed Verizon employee, and shed light on
that logo a bit below the Verizon branding on the back. Turns out it says "Access powered," which could be
good news for those waiting for an update to the aging Palm OS, or it could merely mean that Access is getting its
branding out on Palm OS 5 devices while they continue to work on <a
href="http://engadgetmobile.com/category/alp/">ALP</a>. Our fingers are crossed for ALP, but here's a better idea: why
doesn't Palm/Verizon/Sprint/someone just release the dang device and let us find out for ourselves?<br /><br />[Via <a
href="http://gadgetsonthego.net/2006/04/more-rumored-verizon-treo-700p-pics.html">Gadgets on the Go</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/palm/" rel="tag">Palm</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/verizon-wireless/" rel="tag">Verizon Wireless</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/palm-os/" rel="tag">Palm OS</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/alp/" rel="tag">ALP</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/04/24/just-what-we-needed-more-700p-pics/">Just what we needed, more 700p pics</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 24 Apr 2006 21:12:00 EST. Anyway, we're still waiting
for a few new choice pics, but in the meantime in some specs are making the rounds, and the new Treo 700p, which will
supposedly be available from Sprint in April, will have a 312MHz processor, Palm OS 5.4.9, EV-DO, 1.3 megapixel digital
camera, a 320 x 320 pixel display, and Bluetooth (they're not sure whether it's Bluetooth 1.2 or not). The news that
Palm is busting out a new Treo running on the Palm OS has to be good news to all the loyalists who were dreading having
to switch to Windows Mobile to get 3G on a Treo, but, man, Palm is really running Garnet into the ground, aren't they?
Let's hope they managed to work out a lot of the stability issues that have plagued the Treo 650 before they release
this one.<br /><br />[Thanks to everyone who sent this one in]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/cellphones/" rel="tag">Cellphones</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/02/04/palm-treo-700p-looking-legit/">Palm Treo 700p looking legit</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sat, 04 Feb 2006 11:41:00 EST.
