Turns out that Windows Mobile 6 is just the start with this little gem of an update, though -- you'll also get HSDPA support (yeah, that's right, you've been rocking plain ol' UMTS up until now), access to AT&amp;T Cellular Video, functional Voice Command while using a Bluetooth headset, device charging via USB, and the list goes on. Head on over to Palm's site to kick off the download, and naturally, be sure to let us know how it goes.<br /><br />[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]<br /><br /><strong>Update:</strong> Aaaand there we are with the problems. Fortunately, we're not (yet) hearing about bricked phones, just upset customers who are being <a href="http://forums.palm.com/palm/board/message?board.id=support_downloads&amp;message.id=5292&amp;jump=true#M5292">blocked from downloading the updater</a>, thanks to Palm's janky serial-checking tool. Way to go, Palm, we're sending air kisses your way. Thanks, Zack.<br /><br /><strong>Update 2:</strong> Palm says that the serial number issues that plagued some of the first few folks to try to grab the update have now been resolved, so if you haven't updated yet, have a go at it, will ya? Thanks, Paul!<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/software/" rel="tag">Software</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/palm/" rel="tag">Palm</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/atandt/" rel="tag">ATT</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/12/04/palm-finally-posts-windows-mobile-6-for-atandts-treo-750/">Palm finally posts Windows Mobile 6 for AT&amp;T's Treo 750</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 04 Dec 2007 18:51:00 EST. <div align="left">We've been all over the Windows "Nightmarishly slow" Mobile 6 updates for what seems an <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/03/26/cingulars-treo-750-blackjack-and-8525-get-wm6-treatment/">eternity</a> only to see this poor device left in the lurch. Well, if rumor is correct -- and it can be from time to time -- Treonauts is reporting that unhappy Treo owners may be blessed with a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/07/28/atandt-treo-750-gets-windows-mobile-6-treatment-on-the-sly/">Windows Mobile 6 update</a> from AT&amp;T as early as today. While we'd love to offer to see their rumor and raise them with an actual sighting, sadly we can't. Of course, feel free to pop back soon because we'll be updating if we hear anything more.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://blog.treonauts.com/2007/11/treo-750-update.html">Treonauts</a>]</div>

The good news is that the official Windows Mobile 6 Professional update for the <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2006/09/12/palm-treo-750v-gets-official/">Treo 750</a> is just around the corner; the bad news, though, is that you probably can't have it yet unless you're lucky enough to live in one particular corner of the world. Following <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2007/03/27/treo-750-blackjack-with-windows-mobile-6-in-the-wild/">countless</a> <a href="http://gwww.engadgetmobile.com/2007/07/28/atandt-treo-750-gets-windows-mobile-6-treatment-on-the-sly/">incognito shots</a> of WM6-sporting 750s in the wild, an imminent official announcement was pretty much a foregone conclusion -- though we admittedly never suspected Australia would be the first to get the hookup. Specifically, customers of the Australian branch of Hutchison 3 will be able to download the update free of charge starting mid-month, with "other customers" following on in September. Whether "other customers" includes AT&amp;T is unclear, but we're keeping our fingers tightly crossed.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.istartedsomething.com/20070808/palm-treo-wm6-release/">istartedsomething</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/cellphones/" rel="tag">Cellphones</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handhelds/" rel="tag">Handhelds</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/08/07/palm-gets-official-with-treo-750s-wm6-upgrade-in-australia/">Palm gets official with Treo 750's WM6 upgrade -- in Australia</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 07 Aug 2007 22:54:00 EST. The good news is that the official Windows Mobile 6 Professional update for the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/09/12/palm-treo-750v-gets-official/">Treo 750</a> is just around the corner; the bad news, though, is that you probably can't have it yet unless you're lucky enough to live in one particular corner of the world. Following <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/03/27/treo-750-blackjack-with-windows-mobile-6-in-the-wild/">countless</a> <a href="http://gwww.engadget.com/2007/07/28/atandt-treo-750-gets-windows-mobile-6-treatment-on-the-sly/">incognito shots</a> of WM6-sporting 750s in the wild, an imminent official announcement was pretty much a foregone conclusion -- though we admittedly never suspected Australia would be the first to get the hookup. Specifically, customers of the Australian branch of Hutchison 3 will be able to download the update free of charge starting mid-month, with "other customers" following on in September. Whether "other customers" includes AT&amp;T is unclear, but we're keeping our fingers tightly crossed.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.istartedsomething.com/20070808/palm-treo-wm6-release/">istartedsomething</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/software/" rel="tag">Software</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/palm/" rel="tag">Palm</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/08/07/palm-gets-official-with-treo-750s-wm6-upgrade-in-australia/">Palm gets official with Treo 750's WM6 upgrade -- in Australia</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 07 Aug 2007 22:54:00 EST. Finally the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/01/07/cingulars-treo-750-announced-reviewed/">Treo 750</a> gets its moment in the unofficial spotlight, viva la Windows Mobile 6 updates! Though, AT&amp;T hasn't released it officially -- like the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/07/16/atandts-8525-windows-mobile-6-rom-leaked/">8525</a> and the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/06/03/wm6-rom-leaked-for-samsung-blackjack/">BlackJack</a> -- if you like living life on the edge, all you need to do is head to xda-developers and scare up the ROM for a little do-it-yourself flashing action. As with other updates not yet officially sanctioned by AT&amp;T, if something goes awry, you'll be out of luck for support. By our reckoning, the "Treo" of AT&amp;T devices that were <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/03/26/cingulars-treo-750-blackjack-and-8525-get-wm6-treatment/">set to get updates</a> now have dodgy versions floating around. So come now AT&amp;T, where's the official love?<br /><br />[Thanks, Mark]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/software/" rel="tag">Software</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/palm/" rel="tag">Palm</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/atandt/" rel="tag">ATT</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/07/28/atandt-treo-750-gets-windows-mobile-6-treatment-on-the-sly/">AT&amp;T Treo 750 gets Windows Mobile 6 treatment on the sly</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sat, 28 Jul 2007 23:24:00 EST. The fix for the Palm edition of the Treo 750 appears to address the issue of lost sound alerts that notify you of calls and other notifications. Yeah, we consider that a top-priority fix like you. The root cause was identified by <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/palm/">Palm</a> to be related to multiple hooks into the audio driver(s) of the device, causing it to stop completely. The update is detailed using the read link below if you need to restore that loss of sanity caused by a silent 750.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/index.php?action=expand,56079">Pocket PC Thoughts</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/ringtones/" rel="tag">Ringtones</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/palm/" rel="tag">Palm</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/07/23/palm-releases-treo-750-alert-sound-bug-fix/">Palm releases Treo 750 alert sound bug fix</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 23 Jul 2007 15:28:00 EST. We'd <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/03/26/cingulars-treo-750-blackjack-and-8525-get-wm6-treatment/">reported</a> this would happen, and, well... it happened. In Microsoft's booth at CTIA, anyway. It's anybody's guess exactly when it is end users will be able to drop Windows Mobile 6 on <a href="http://www.engadget.com/search/?q=750">Treo 750s</a> and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/search/?q=blackjack">Samsung BlackJacks</a> of their very own, but we take it as a pretty solid sign that Microsoft is comfortable showing it off already.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/software/" rel="tag">Software</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/palm/" rel="tag">Palm</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/samsung/" rel="tag">Samsung</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/atandt/" rel="tag">ATT</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/03/27/treo-750-blackjack-with-windows-mobile-6-in-the-wild/">Treo 750, BlackJack with Windows Mobile 6 in the wild</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 27 Mar 2007 16:19:00 EST. And now, for your viewing pleasure, a Treo 750 supping upon <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2007/02/09/windows-mobile-6-professional-in-pictures/">Windows Mobile 6 Professional's</a> sweet, sweet nectar. No, we've no details on when, where, or how this might find its way to existing Treo owners, but it's an encouraging sign, is it not? OK -- now that Vodafone has let go of its ruthless grip on the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/search/?q=Treo+750">Treo 750</a> exclusivity in Europe, the unit is not available in normal distribution channels throughout the continent as of Monday. The Treo 750 was set for Cingular <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/01/07/cingulars-treo-750-announced-reviewed/">here in the U.S.</a> just about a month ago -- and it's on sale now with them. If you're no fan of ole' Voda and want to use the Windows Mobile-powered Treo 750 on any old GSM carrier over in Europe -- <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/10/12/treo-750v-unlocked/">officially at least</a> -- you're in luck now.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/palm/" rel="tag">Palm</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/02/07/treo-750-exclusivity-with-vodafone-expires-rest-of-europe-gets/">Treo 750 exclusivity with Vodafone expires; rest of Europe gets the love</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 07 Feb 2007 07:22:00 EST. As you can see, it's pretty much in the middle of the pack: it's practically equally as thin as the Motorola Q, but ain't quite as high; it's nowhere near as thick as the Treo 750, but it is slightly wider and taller; and it bests the Pearl in terms of thinness, but loses out on width and height. Hopefully this gives you a better idea of how the iPhone sizes up against its competitors. Check out some more size comparisons from different angles after the break.<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/01/09/apple-iphone-sized-up-and-compared-to-treo-750-moto-q-and-bb-p/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Apple iPhone sized up and compared to Treo 750, Moto Q, and BB Pearl</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portablevideo/" rel="tag">Portable Video</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/wireless/" rel="tag">Wireless</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/01/09/apple-iphone-sized-up-and-compared-to-treo-750-moto-q-and-bb-p/">Apple iPhone sized up and compared to Treo 750, Moto Q, and BB Pearl</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 09 Jan 2007 16:32:00 EST. Though the <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2007/01/04/palms-treo-750-launch-presentation-including-price-and-release/">cover was blown</a>, Palm fanatics everywhere still have reason to breathe a deep sigh of relief today as the Treo 750 has gone official for Cingular. The Windows Mobile Pocket PC handset is the first Palm device launched to leverage Cingular's 3G network -- and what's better, an upgrade to HSDPA is on the way. Specs include 128MB ROM / 64 MB RAM with miniSD expansion, Bluetooth (albeit 1.2), and that much-maligned square 240 x 240 display, all atop a 300MHz Samsung core. LAPTOP Magazine and Pocketnow both came away with similar impressions in their quick takes; Palm's latest entry isn't earth-shattering by any stretch of the imagination, but key enhancements to Windows Mobile 5's shortcomings (threaded messaging!) and 3G data should keep existing Treo users coming back for the upgrade. Look for the 750 in stores this week for $399 on a two-year contract, with online availability rolling in later this month.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.palm.com/us/products/smartphones/treo750/index.html?creativeID=HmPg_BB|treo750_announcement">Read</a> - Palm product page<br /><a href="http://laptopmag.com/Review/Palm-Treo-750.htm">Read</a> - LAPTOP Magazine review<br /><a href="http://pocketnow.com/index.php?a=portal_detail&amp;t=reviews&amp;id=905">Read</a> - Pocketnow review<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/cellphones/" rel="tag">Cellphones</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handhelds/" rel="tag">Handhelds</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/01/07/cingulars-treo-750-announced-reviewed/">Cingular's Treo 750 announced, reviewed</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sun, 07 Jan 2007 20:14:00 EST. The Boy Genius snap above is of a reported demo unit said to be hitting "various <a href="http://www.desktops.engadget.com/2006/09/22/palm-briefly-confesses-to-treo-680-750-for-cingular/">Cingular</a> <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/06/27/treo-lennon-and-treo-nitro-coming-to-cingular/">stores</a>" across The Nation over the weekend. Who knows, with the rumor-mill in a frenzy about a possible launch as early as today, things sure look promising for a stub-free, HSDPA holiday after all. <br />We have to say, the Boy Genius is damned good. Ok, now that thats out of the way, Engadget Mobile would like present to you exclusive pictures of a Cingular-branded Treo 750. Yeah, that's right, that's the Treo Lennon, and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/06/27/treo-lennon-and-treo-nitro-coming-to-cingular/">as we found out before from BG</a>, is coming to Cingy.
