TG Sambo is all set to refresh its display line with four new models, three of them proudly pimping full 1080p panels and making your 4:3 display look all the more tired and washed up. The 24-inch TGL 2400A, 23-inch 2300A and 21.6-inch 2250A all have an integrated digital TV tuner, 2ms response time, 20,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio (which probably means real contrast is around 500:1), HDMI, DVI, VGA, and menu presets for internet, movie and gaming use. There's also a similarly outfitted 2000A version, which alas loses the 1920 x 1080 resolution. Only the price for the biggest 'un is known at present: 449,000 KRW ($336), but the PR indicates "the second half of the market strategy is to attack," so we'll go ahead and assume availability is coming shortly.[Via AVING]

Averatec's 25.5-inch D1200 a bit too large for your tastes (or your bantam desk)? Fret not, as the very same company is today issuing a 22-inch version with similar specs. Speaking of which, the admittedly stylish all-in-one machine packs a 2.5GHz Core 2 Duo E5200 processor, a WXGA panel, 3GB of DDR2 RAM, a 320GB SATA hard drive, slot-loading DVD burner, X4500HD graphics, WiFi, gigabit Ethernet and a 2 megapixel webcam. Vista Home Premium is the OS included, but the whole rig will only set you back $799. If you're already sold, you can place your order today at a variety of non-shady e-tailers.%Gallery-68184%

Nah, it's no netbook, but it's certainly more than a rumor. Averatec has just cut loose details on its newest machine, a 25.5-inch PC / TV combo that looks to take on the likes of MSI's AE1900. The D1200 all-in-one PC comes equipped with a hybrid digital / analog TV tuner and supports buttery smooth 1080p playback. Specs wise, you'll find a 2.5GHz dual-core E5200 processor, 320GB hard drive, 4GB of memory and Vista Home Premium (64-bit). There's also an 8x DVD burner, 2 megapixel webcam, WiFi, gigabit Ethernet, Intel's G4500HD graphics, a wireless remote and a panel that's either WXGA or 1,920 x 1,200, depending on which version of the rundown you read. At any rate, it's up for order as we speak for a buck under $1,000.

If it's fancy you're scouting, you needn't look here. If you're fine with a classic design, a relatively low price and plenty of oomph to handle everyday tasks, you've got your eyes right where they need to be. Averatec's latest rig is a 12-inch ultraportable that gets powered by a 2GHz Core 2 Duo T6400 processor, a WXGA panel, 4GB of DDR2-800 RAM, a 250GB SATA hard drive, 8x SuperMulti dual-layer DVD writer, WiFi, gigabit Ethernet, a trio of USB 2.0 ports, FireWire and audio in / out. Furthermore, you'll find a VGA output, 4-in-1 card reader, GMA X4500HD graphics set, 1.3 megapixel camera and Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit. This four pound lappie will set you back $699, and if you're already sold, we're happy to inform you that it's shipping right now.

  • Trigem's $500 LLUON Mobbit MID goes on sale, wackiness ensues

Hard to believe but after three years (almost to the day) a MID / UMPC running a Microsoft OS with a $500 MSRP is finally out for retail. Trigem's LLUON mobbit is available in two configurations of which the lesser lists for KRW699,000 or about $490. A KRW799,000 ($560) presumably adds the listed WiBro spec for Korean style WiMaxing. That meager sum takes home a 13.2-ounce box o' XP with 1GB of memory, a 30GB disk, 4.8-inch 1,024 x 600 touchscreen with stylus, Bluetooth, WiFi, and 2 megapixel camera all riding Intel's Atom Z520 processor. Not bad... not beautiful by any stretch but significant enough to elicit maniacal behavior amongst devoted UMPC fanboys everywhere. Update: It appears that the WiBro model is actually the cheaper of the two. The lower price resulting from a required 18 month subscription.[Via CNET Asia]

TG just announced that this unnamed all-in-one PC is heading for a Stateside retail launch courtesy of Best Buy. There's not a lot to go on here besides a few pics. Nevertheless, a DVD drive, 2x USB and what appears to be a slot for memory cards, mic and audio jacks, and dedicated multi-media buttons adorning the right-side edge. Around back we find Ethernet, a composite video input, and a few more unidentified jacks which might be Firewire and USB. The big mystery here is the price and availability. Then we'll know whether this pup can take the legs out from under Dell, Apple, and even Gateway in the US, all-in-one desktop game. Backside-front pictured after the break.

We're not going to pretend to fully understand the machine translated text we've been given. However, we know this, that's one sexy SatNav and in-car entertainment device for S.Korea up there. In what looks to be TG's first GPS device, the "El" (the "the"?) features dual-channel terrestrial DMB broadcast television, real-time TPEG traffic broadcasting, dual-SD cards for maps and media, an internal battery, and a biggie OLED display for taking it all in. We'll update you with more details as they trickle in.

It's not unusual to find pre-fabricated rigs with game-specific paint jobs here in the US, but Trigem is looking to pique South Korea's interest with its Lineage 2 Dreamsys STWT. The glossy white tower sports some fairly impressive artwork on the front panel, and while your attachment to the game may draw you in, it's the innards that will make or break the deal. Specs wise, you'll find a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 processor, 2GB of DDR2 RAM, a 320GB SATA hard drive, a DVD burner, 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 7650GS GPU, gigabit Ethernet, a slew of USB 2.0 ports, nine-in-one multicard reader, audio in / out, FireWire, and VGA / DVI outputs to boot. No word on when this gem will be available to fanboys (and gals), but you'll be looking at a ???1,249,000 ($1,356) pricetag whenever it does.

Korea's TriGem just made their first trip to Santa Rosa this morning with the launch of their Averatec 8300 laptop. We're talkin' a 15.4-inch widescreen display, 160GB disk, DVD super multi-drive, a 1.3 megapixel webcam integrated into the bezel, and "the latest graphics card." Unfortunately, there's still no official word on the TG website, so let's just assume an HD 2900 XT and be done with it. What?

  • Intel announces PC design competition winners

Intel seems to be handing out awards left and right these days, following up its co-sponsorship of a competition with Samsung with the announcement of the winners of its Intel Core Processor Challenge today. This one tasked competitors with designing a system based on Intel's Viiv platform and Core 2 Duo processors, with style also counting for more than a few points. Walking away with the top prize was TriGem Computer's "Black Crystal" home theater PC (pictured above), which proved to be enough to net the company $300,000 to put towards the production of the PC and another $400,000 for marketing and promotion. Coming in second place but not leaving empty handed was Norway's Mesiro, which snagged a cool $300,000 for its slightly less flashy "Asono Merium" system (check it out after the break). Anyone thinking they can do better shouldn't waste too much time getting their act together, as Intel's set to do the whole thing all over again later this year.[Via Crave]

  • Trigem's new Averatec 1500 ultraportable

Trigem really likes to cover its Averatec bases, and this time around it's hitting on the teensy end of laptopdom with the new Averatec 1500 11.1-inch laptop. The little portable sports a WXGA screen, 1.0GHz Core Duo ULV U2400 processor, 1GB of DDR2 RAM and a 100GB SATA HDD. About the fanciest spec this thing can boast of is a/b/g WiFi, though 3.44 pounds isn't too shabby for an ultraportable weight, and 1.2-inches of thickness isn't terrible considering the general squeeze on the other dimensions. Still, at roughly $1,969 US for this thing, we're guessing our Korean friends could do a bit better for a bit less. At least it's shiny.

TriGem, you know, the Korean company behind Averatec here in the US, have just thrown down an update to the Little Lluon media PC. Dubbed the Little Lluon+, it's now slimmer but heftier than its cuz at 44-mm (1.7-inch) / 3-kg (6.6-pound) and purrs along at a maximum of 31.6dB on down to 25.1dB at a chilled idle. Better yet, it's now driving Windows Media Center Edition with a 2.0GHz Core 2 Duo T7200 and 320GB SATA disk according to Akihabara News. Thing is, we can only find the LCFC11-MO plus model on the TriGem site which sports the lessor 1.73GHz Core Duo T2250 proc -- so pass on the link love if ya got it in the comments dear readers. Oh, and we'll be expecting your LX version for the rest of world any day now Philips, thanks.[Via Akihabara News]
