Today marks the last day of the Valentine's inspired World of Warcraft holiday, Love is in the Air. Player Kraver of the Quel'Thalas server decided to use the gifts he received during the event to show his affection for Tyrande Whisperwind, leader of the Night Elves in Darnassus. Who did you shower with rose petals for the event?Do you have any unusual World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder? Because we'd love to see it on Around Azeroth! Sharing your screenshot is as simple as e-mailing aroundazeroth@wow.com with a copy of your shot and a brief explanation of the scene. You could be featured here next! Remember to include your player name, server and/or guild if you want it mentioned. We prefer full screen shots without the UI showing. And please, no more sunsets. No, really. Ok, only if it's a sunrise in new Patch 2.4 lands. We'll take those anytime. Oh, and no more shots of Omen killed in Ogrimmar. It's cool, we get it. A lot of it.%Gallery-1816% Love is in the Air and on WoW Insider. Check out our continuing coverage of the event and our guide to earning the achievement. And you better hurry; the holiday only lasts five days!

Hi, everyone. We wanted to show you want SCEA sent us today: a box of chocolates and a Valentine's Day card for the upcoming PSP game, Secret Agent Clank. How sweet! But why do the chocolates say "Shine Light on Card"? Certainly, they must be playing a trick on us somehow. It must be something extra top-secret and confidential. Can you figure it out?Update: Okay, so our shenanigans are over. If you highlighted the text, you would've gotten access to a downloadable trailer for the game. Because some were unable to extract the file properly, we're showing you the YouTube'd version of the trailer, after the cut. Happy V-Day!

With love in our hearts and thoughts of dancing teddy bears in our heads, we here at X3F want to wish you a very special Valentine's Day. To celebrate, we advise taking a stroll through Xbox.com's Valentine's coverage, spending some quality video game time with a loved one and eating heart shaped sugar cookies until your stomach aches with sugary pain love. We know we'll be celebrating (and spending lots of money) this Valentine's Day with our sweethearts as we promise to be the most caring, thoughtful and supportive bloggers we can be. We also promise, for at least today, to ease up a little on both Xav and Terrence, the new guys. Hopefully they know that both Richard and I constantly nag, ritually yell and make unfair demands only because we care and want them to succeed. Because, deep down, we love our Xav, Terrence and all of you that make the X3F community the best group of 360 supporters on the net. Happy Valentine's Day guys ... now let's gorge on chocolates!

  • A Halo 3 St. Valentine's Day Massacre

Not since last October's "Living Dead" event has team Bungie released a specially themed Halo 3 matchmaking hopper, but today is the day of love. So, with that in mind, Bungie knew they had an obligation to fulfill. With the thick stench smell of love wafting through the air, team Bungie will be releasing a new Halo 3 "St. Valentine's Day Massacre" ranked matchmaking playlist. The new playlist is (fittingly) a team doubles slayer fest where players will have to "partner up" to dish out the Valentines pain. Even better is the fact that Bungie promises to hand out special prizes to those gamers who perform amazing feats and perform amazing acts. What the prizes will be and what must be done to earn them is unknown, but we're thinking Recon armor will be in the mix. Yeah, it's possible. But you'll never know what prizes can be won or what fun can be had unless you partner up and play the St. Valentines' Day Massacre playlist. But you'll have to get fragging soon. The playlist love affair will only be available today starting at 1:00PM eastern through Monday, February 18th at 5:00AM eastern. And please, no teabagging.

Machinima is tough to make in a game like Lord of the Rings Online. Most of the videos out there are music videos, but I wanted to rep the LOTRO crowd in my Valentine's videofest! LOTRO musicians sure have come a long way since I tried the game in beta. All that I could muster was the same note over and over until someone begged me to stop, or threatened to report me. However, some creative individuals have come up with entire songs, coordinated with different players and instruments!Read on for commentary and another video ...

This machinima is almost three years old, yet it still holds up today. Here Without You, by Dimoroc, doesn't have special effects, a flashy intro, or even any dialogue. It tells the story of a Forsaken and how they became that way. Using music and powerful scenes, he is able to convey emotion that I did not think possible of World of Warcraft. The story of Dimoroc himself is a mystery. He showed up at Warcraftmovies, uploaded this one video, and then disappeared shortly after. Almost two years later, he popped up under a different account to thank everyone for their comments, then disappeared again. However, present or not, he has left a lasting impression on the WoW machinima community. If you're out there, Dimoroc, thank you for creating one of the few machinimas that made me cry!Previously on Moviewatch ...

Well, it's not as bad as it sounds. In fact, these Nintendo-themed Valentine cards from 4 Color Rebellion epitomize the kind of charming quirkiness that makes game-related art great. 4cr's Mitch Donaberger created these cards to express the complex feelings of the lovestruck Nintendo fan. For example, the card above is probably the most eloquent way to tell someone that not only are they great, they are great much in the same way that the wonderful DS Lite is.The cards come in both web-friendly and printable resolutions, so you can choo-choo-choose to send one to a loved one either as an e-card or as a regular-style card. Now you're playing with ... other people's emotions!

I came across this machinima while on my quest for the perfect video Valentine. Olibith weaved a cute World of Warcraft tale of love to the sweet sounds of Frank and Nancy Sinatra. The best part was that he appears to have dedicated it to his wife and child. Say it with me now -- "Awww!"While most of Olibith's material is pretty racy, this video isn't so bad. I must warn the viewers that there is some innuendo, though. Overall, I thought it was adorable to see the two gnomes experiencing the joys of courtship.

In January 2006, a group of friends, including Dopefish and Malu05, decided to create a community machinima project, Nogg-aholic Collaboration, or NAC, to showcase World of Warcraft in ways that they felt had not been done before. Named after the time period in which it was filmed, February 2006, My Burning Valentine was intended to highlight what NAC was all about, as well as its guidelines. However, the more that they explored the depths of their creativity, the less that they wanted to show off this film!As they continued to add to the guidelines for NAC, the release date was being pushed farther back. In the end, their interest waned, so they closed down the forum and moved on, leaving this video behind as a memory. For further explanation of the project, as well as more clips, check out Dopefish's video page for My Burning Valentine.[Via Warcraftmovies.com]Previously on Moviewatch ...

If you've created a video ode to that special NPC in your life, let us know! The first video, released on Valentine's Day in 2007, actually comes from the World of Warcraft staff. It is a parody of those cheesy jewelry commercials on television. Ladies of WoW, what is your ideal gift? It's that time of year again: Love is in the Air in the capital cities of Azeroth. From now until the 15th, that sweet and sinister holiday where you show your affection to your fellow citizens and your faction leaders is upon us. Be sure to visit your local Innkeeper for a supply of perfume, cologne, and Love Tokens, and see if you can finally capture Qwee Q. Peddlefeet this year, or at least get that dress you've always wanted. Be on the lookout for new things as well, such as the Love Rocket and the Romantic Picnic Basket, which World of Raids already sniffed out for us back in November. Go out, enjoy, and share the season -- at least until you find out who's behind this whole strange mess of amore! %Gallery-15723% Love is in the Air and on WoW Insider. Teza at World of Raids has posted some information about changes that will be coming to the "Love is in the Air" holiday this February. Apparently, a player named Mushuu has kept a stash of the pledges from last Valentine's day. Upon opening them recently, he found several new items, including the new fireworks, Love Rockets, pictured next to this article. These items have made appearances on item database sites and were added in recent patches, but their exact use and purpose were unknown up to this point.Check out World of Raids for the full story, including pictures of the other new item, the Romantic Picnic Basket. You'd think there would be dozens of fabulous widgets to choose from for Valentines day. You'd be wrong. The Valentines widget selection involves mighty slim pickings. Here are a few widgets we googled up for your romantic pleasure. You can create your own semi-custom Widget using Ben Kazez's Valentine Maker, offer an "I Love You" translator from Boer Attila or really dig deep at the bottom of the barrel with a couple of promotional widgets, including one for Britney Spear's new perfume. Valentine Maker Create a custom Widget for Valentines day, from the maker of the John Edwards widget. You choose the color and the words. Helzberg Diamonds Valentines Day Countdown Count down to Valentines day with a fairly unsubtle promotional widget from Helzberg Diamonds. Britney Spears Midnight Fantasy Valentines Day Countdown Clock It's even more awful than the name suggests. Probably the worst Valentines day widget out there. Heck, this might be scraping the bottom of the barrel for all widgets in existence. The Love Translator Translate the phrase "I Love You" in to bunches of different languages.

  • Five Ways to say I Love You with an iPod and iTunes

Valentine's Day is approaching fast. Roses are red. Violets are blue. Here are are some Valentines ideas, from us here at TU...aw. Engrave it. I'd stick with "To my lovely partner" over "Be mine, forever", because it might not be clear if you're talking about your partner or to your iPod. Gift a love song. Gift cards, schmift cards. You can gift a song whose lyrics really communicate that special message you want to send. Just try to avoid any song with "Disco" in the title. Load a video message onto your iPod. iMovie and iSight combine for a great way to say "I Love You" on your favorite gadget. Buy MiniGolf for your iPod. Because pass and play can be romantic and fun. Create a surprise playlist. Yes, you may already be sharing iTunes libraries, so why not leave a special little surprise for that certain somebody? Build a playlist that you know that she or he will love.

  • Sexy games: a rich and racy history

If you want a refresher course in the history of sex and games, 1up and OPM have just the thing. Their illustrated timeline gives a quick rundown of the seedier side of gaming, hitting important milestones such as the advent of Tomb Raider and Rez's infamous vibrator.Like some games' attempts at sex, it's ultimately shallow and unfulfilling, charting mainstream milestones for the most part. The advent of realistic "jiggle" technology isn't necessarily on a par with the GTA "Hot Coffee" mod in the history of sex and gaming; however, sexual content in games continually skirts the boundary between mainstream acceptability and outright scandal. The increasing acceptability is demonstrated by a recent sex-based advergame for Running Scared--it seems the motto "sex sells" has well and truly found its place in video games.See also:If you're looking for a special gift this Valentine's, the Sex and Games shopping list is a good place to start, and there are several sex-based MMOs in the pipeline if you're still mulling over the idea.
