Twitter clutters up iOS and Android timelines with 'Who to Follow'
Twitter really wants new users to stick around. Now that means helping them find interesting accounts by placing "Who to follow" in the timeline of its iOS and Android apps. So now when you load Twitter on your phone you can expect to see in your timeline: "While you were away" ( a collection of tweets from accounts you follow that were published while you were away), a sponsored tweet or two and now Who to follow. Fortunately when it does pop up in your timeline its anchored to where it appeared and doesn't clutter up your feed every time you load the app. Also you can tap on the tiny X in top right-hand corner to dismiss the feature so it doesn't disrupt the flow of your meticulously curated list of random thoughts from friends and brands.
Who to follow on Twitter: Apple edition
Welcome back to our series on Who To Follow, and this time we're listing our favorite Apple-tinged Twitter users. Encompassing our favorite news sites, writers and iOS tinkerers, there should be something there for most Apple fans, whether you're looking for Mac news, app developments, or (sometimes) a vague glimpse of what to expect from the Cupertino-based team in the future. 2012 has been pretty busy for Microsoft. We've seen the new, very different, Windows 8, not to mention a new version of its mobile OS and no end of hardware permutations from PC and laptop makers. With that in mind, this time on WSIFOT, we've assembled a together who you should be adding to your timeline to keep abreast of Redmond's machinations. It's been a while, but we're ready with some fresh lists of who to follow when it comes to tracing all the tech goings-on within Twitter. First up is the brutally broad smartphone and tablet category, covering everything from Apple to Xiaomi.
