Still, we'll give Sammy credit for releasing free feature updates (<a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/06/09/iphone-2-0-free-in-early-july-for-all-iphone-owners-9-95-for-i/">cough</a>), and Blue Wave 4 delivers basically what we'd heard about a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/04/01/blue-wave-4-firmware-for-samsung-p2-previewed/">couple months back</a>: voice recording, Bluetooth gaming, subway maps, a skinnable GUI, password lock and text-to-speech support. Available for download now, if you've actually got a P2.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.pmptoday.com/2008/07/09/download-samsung-p2-blue-wave-4-508-firmware/">PMP Today</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portablevideo/" rel="tag">Portable Video</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/07/09/samsung-yp-p2-blue-wave-4-firmware-update-arrives/">Samsung YP-P2 Blue Wave 4 firmware update arrives</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 09 Jul 2008 18:34:00 EST. When we asked you to list the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/04/25/how-would-you-change-samsungs-yp-p2/">things you'd change</a> about Samsung's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/yp-p2/">YP-P2</a>, a number of you yearned for mobile TV. Granted, you'd have to set up shop in South Korea for your dream to be fully fulfilled, but Samsung's definitely making it possible. The YP-P2 DMB will arrive packing an obligatory T-DMB mobile TV tuner for youngsters and hipsters alike to find their favorite program when those hundreds of albums grow stale. We're hearing that the unit will feature a 3-inch touchscreen along with Bluetooth 2.0 and your choice of black or white motifs. Price wise, you'll be laying down ?239,000 ($231), ?309,000 ($299) or ?389,000 ($377) for the 4GB, 8GB or 16GB version.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portablevideo/" rel="tag">Portable Video</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/06/24/samsung-to-release-t-dmb-packin-yp-p2-in-south-korea/">Samsung to release T-DMB-packin' YP-P2 in South Korea</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 24 Jun 2008 10:13:00 EST. Granted, most everything here is lost in translation, but we're gathering that Samsung could be readying a touchscreen YP-P3 that would look awfully similar to the <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2008/03/25/samsungs-anycall-haptic-is-out-and-ui-licious/">SCH-W420</a> mobile. Good thing, too, as that particular unit has <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2008/02/15/samsungs-new-touchwiz-ui-gets-previewed-on-video/">haptic support</a> (force feedback from touch panels, in a nutshell) already loaded in. So convenient, wouldn't you agree? Keep a loose eye out for this one to surface late this year.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.pmptoday.com/2008/05/14/samsung-p3-with-haptic/">PMPToday</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portablevideo/" rel="tag">Portable Video</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/05/14/samsung-dreaming-of-yp-p3-with-haptic-support/">Samsung dreaming of YP-P3 with haptic support?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 14 May 2008 16:23:00 EST. Considering that Samsung's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/YP-P2/">YP-P2</a> just might be the most <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/02/21/samsungs-yp-p2-gets-firmware-v3-15-a-handful-of-new-features/">updated</a> PMP <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/10/25/samsung-planning-firmware-updates-for-yp-p2/">of</a> all <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/02/01/samsung-p2-firmware-v3-07-now-available/">time</a>, we're guessing that a lot of things that users would have changed just months ago have already been done by the powers that be. That being said, we critical gadget owners are never truly satisfied at heart, so we're curious to know how you'd spin the forthcoming firmware update(s). Or would you focus your attention on external matters, instead? We know you've had ample time to fool around with one of Sammy's most prized media players ever, so don't be shy down there in comments, alright? Who knows -- your recommendations could be front and center in the next <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/04/01/samsung-lets-loose-blue-wave-3-firmware-update-for-p2-t10-pmps/">Blue</a> <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/04/01/blue-wave-4-firmware-for-samsung-p2-previewed/">Wave</a>.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portablevideo/" rel="tag">Portable Video</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/04/25/how-would-you-change-samsungs-yp-p2/">How would you change Samsung's YP-P2?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Fri, 25 Apr 2008 18:30:00 EST. Otherwise known as version 4.13, the update brings a whole host of improvements, including a decent batch of new GUI themes, a new fullscreen playback mode, a calculator, and some additional brightness and speed controls for video playback, among other things. Of course, as Samsung is wont to do, it's already teasing us with its <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/04/01/blue-wave-4-firmware-for-samsung-p2-previewed/">Blue Wave 4 update</a>, which promises to take the player to even greater heights with customizable skins, Bluetooth-based games, subway maps, and voice recording, to name just a few improvements. No word on a release for that just yet, however, so in the meantime you'll have to make do with the next best thing available at the link below.<br /><br />[Thanks, <a href="http://www.xepol.com/YPP2/tabid/97/Default.aspx">Xepol</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portablevideo/" rel="tag">Portable Video</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/04/25/blue-wave-3-firmware-update-for-samsung-p2-heads-out-of-beta/">Blue Wave 3 firmware update for Samsung P2 heads out of beta</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Fri, 25 Apr 2008 11:51:00 EST. <div align="left">Samsung's done pretty well for itself with its <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/yp-p2/">YP-P2</a> PMP, and it now looks to be set to bust out yet another upgrade to the player, although you likely won't be seeing this one outside of Korea. Helping to keep it close to Samsung's home base is the addition of not only a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/dab">DAB</a> radio tuner but, apparently, a<a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/dvb" /> <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/dvb">DVB-T</a> mobile TV tuner as well. Other than those two notable additions, however, the device appears to be unchanged from its previous incarnation, with it boasting the same 3-inch WQVGA display, built-in Bluetooth, black or white color options, and 2GB, 4GB, or 8GB capacity as before (no word on a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/03/18/samsungs-yp-p2-coming-in-16gb-flavor-soon/">16GB model</a>). There's also no word on a price or release date, but you can pretty safely expect to pay a tidy premium over the tuner-less models.</div>

Samsung just launched the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/04/01/samsung-lets-loose-blue-wave-3-firmware-update-for-p2-t10-pmps/">Blue Wave 3 firmware</a> for the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/YPP2/">YP-P2</a> and T10 today, but we're already hearing whispers of Blue Wave 4 -- check out this image that's popped up on some forums. Apparently all you P2 owners out there can look forward to customizable (and shareable) UI skins, some new Bluetooth-based games, subway maps, custom EQ settings, password controls, and voice recording sometime in the future, but we have no idea when. Until then, feast your eyes on the whole image after the break.<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/04/01/blue-wave-4-firmware-for-samsung-p2-previewed/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Blue Wave 4 firmware for Samsung P2 previewed?</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portablevideo/" rel="tag">Portable Video</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/04/01/blue-wave-4-firmware-for-samsung-p2-previewed/">Blue Wave 4 firmware for Samsung P2 previewed?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 01 Apr 2008 17:27:00 EST. Those in Korea can now give their players another boost, however, with the new Blue Wave 3 update apparently available for the taking. On the P2, that'll give you four new GUI themes, along with a new full screen mode, a calculator and dictionary, and new brightness and speed controls for video playback. The T10, on the other hand, will get a full ten new themes, along with three new games, a video bookmarking feature, horizontal viewing and AAC support, and the ability to delete files on the device itself. No word on a similar release 'round these parts just yet, but we wouldn't expect it to be too long in coming.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.pmptoday.com/2008/03/31/blue-wave-3-for-samsung-p2-ad-t10/">PMP Today</a>]</div>

<div align="left">You may still not be able to get an iPhone in Canada (at least officially), but you can now at least grab a spiffy new 16GB Samsung <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/yp-p2/">YP-P2</a>, which is a whole 8GB bigger than the model currently available in the US. From the looks of it, Best Buy Canada is the among the first to offer the beefed-up, Bluetooth-packin' PMP, with it currently demanding $330 Canadian (a $40 discount off the $370 list price) on the retailer's website. Apart from the bump in storage, however, there doesn't look to be any other changes to the player, with it boasting the same 3-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth 2.0 support, and H.264, OGG, and WMV playback as before. Of course, it's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/03/18/samsungs-yp-p2-coming-in-16gb-flavor-soon/">not very likely</a> this'll be a Canadian exclusive for long, though we've still yet to hear anything official on that from Samsung.<br /></div>

Samsung fans, your wildest dreams have come to fruition. Word on the street is that the company's do-it-all PMP, the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/YPP2/">YP-P2</a>, will be getting an update in the form of a new 16GB model. The new player -- which boasts features like a 3-inch WQVGA screen, Bluetooth 2.0 support, and H.264, OGG, and WMV playback -- will cost somewhere in the vicinity of $347. There's no word on a street date or price for US or European markets, but when we know something, you'll know something.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.pmptoday.com/2008/03/18/samsung-p2-16gb-official/">PMP Today</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portablevideo/" rel="tag">Portable Video</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/03/18/samsungs-yp-p2-coming-in-16gb-flavor-soon/">Samsung's YP-P2 coming in 16GB flavor soon</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 18 Mar 2008 21:33:00 EST. We don't want to get too granular on these <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/02/01/samsung-p2-firmware-v3-07-now-available/">firmware updates</a>, but it looks like another YP-P2 re-up has imbued the device with some interesting new features. Apparently, version 3.15 adds three new games to your device, the ability to record FM radio as an MP3, new repeat functions, control over the speed of music playback (which we think is totally boss), and EmoTure 1.5, which has a handful of improved features (or so we're told). The whole shebang is available right now for your downloading pleasure... so go grab it.<br /><br />[Thanks, Evan]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portablevideo/" rel="tag">Portable Video</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/02/21/samsungs-yp-p2-gets-firmware-v3-15-a-handful-of-new-features/">Samsung's YP-P2 gets firmware v3.15, a handful of new features</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 21 Feb 2008 09:54:00 EST. It's not like we haven't seen PMPs certified for Vongo <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/06/19/toshiba-officially-partners-with-vongo-launches-gigabeat-s/">before</a>, but considering just how sexy the P2 really is, we think the aforementioned video provider did itself a favor by teaming up with Samsung. As of today, P2 owners can surf on over to Vongo's website and begin using the subscription-based <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/01/08/watch-downloaded-vongo-movies-on-your-tv/">service</a> for $9.99 per month, and for P2 owners to-be, you can look forward to a "trial membership" with an unspecified length. The YS-MC1 cradle would apparently snap onto the bottom of the already svelte P2 and add 802.11g WiFi, an FM transmitter, microSD expansion slot and a built-in mono speaker. 'Course, we realize just how fake the concepts on the video look, but it's not like Samsung hasn't doled out <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/01/16/samsung-offers-up-ds200-speaker-dock-for-yp-k3/">specialized docks</a> for its DAPs in the past. And hey, we're all still wondering what may go along with the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/10/25/samsung-planning-firmware-updates-for-yp-p2/">multiple waves</a> of firmware updates slated to land next year. Apparently, the P2 will be hit with an update this December that enables a Bluetooth connection to one's mobile phone, BT file exchanges and the addition of an e-dictionary (saywha?). In late January of 2008, you can expect an upgraded Touch UI along with FM recording / playback. The elusive "Third Wave" update is set to land next March, but as you can tell from the photo to the right, Sammy's just lettin' your imagination run wild with this one. Check out the full spread after the jump.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.yeppyepp.net/index.php?page=29">YeppYepp</a>]<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/10/25/samsung-planning-firmware-updates-for-yp-p2/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Samsung planning firmware updates for YP-P2</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portablevideo/" rel="tag">Portable Video</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/10/25/samsung-planning-firmware-updates-for-yp-p2/">Samsung planning firmware updates for YP-P2</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 25 Oct 2007 15:30:00 EST. Everyone loves observing their favorite gadgets splayed across a table in pieces, chipsets and radios fully exposed for the world to see, but nothing quite beats the delicious build-up and eventual pay-off of a tear-down captured on video. And with hot little devices like Samsung's 8GB, Bluetooth 2.0-equipped <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/yp-p2/">YP-P2</a> and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/yp-t10/">YP-T10</a> DAPs, the time-honored dissection ritual seems particularly suited to filming. Thanks to Korean YEPP fan LikEraser, you can watch it all go down after the break, and even catch a full description of the individual parts by clicking on the Read link. Warning: those who value their hearing / sanity will mute the embedded videos and substitute a favorite tune instead. <br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.yeppyepp.net/index.php?page=26">YeppYepp</a>]<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/10/21/live-nude-daps-samsung-p2-and-t10-dissected-on-video/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Live! Although we were previously led to believe that Samsung's YP-P2 and YP-T10 Bluetooth players would be landing in the US <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/08/28/samsungs-p2-and-t10-bluetooth-players-stateside-in-september/">last month</a>, the ship date seems to have slipped just a bit. A revised release from Sammy (shown after the break) now shows both units being available here in America sometime in October, and more importantly, prices were also divulged. As for the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/18/samsungs-yp-p2-available-on-amazon/">P2</a>, it'll be available in black, wine red or white hues for $199 (4GB) and $249 (8GB), while the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/08/31/hands-on-with-the-samsung-t10-pmp-at-ifa/">T10</a> will ship in midnight black, mystic purple, maple red, white cloud and lime yellow for $149 (4GB) and $199 (8GB). Hold tight, the duo should (finally) be landing anytime.<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/10/05/samsungs-p2-t10-bluetooth-players-get-priced-dated-again/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Samsung's P2 / T10 Bluetooth players get priced, dated again</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portablevideo/" rel="tag">Portable Video</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/10/05/samsungs-p2-t10-bluetooth-players-get-priced-dated-again/">Samsung's P2 / T10 Bluetooth players get priced, dated again</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Fri, 05 Oct 2007 13:09:00 EST. Just days after <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/18/samsungs-yp-p2-available-on-amazon/">hitting</a> Amazon, Samsung's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/YPP2/">YP-P2</a> is getting a proper unboxing. TheGirl over at <em>YJzone</em> was able to secure the oh-so-slim player and managed to curb that enthusiasm just long enough to snap pictures of the entire opening process. We know you can't wait to get your sweaty, smearing mitts all over Samsung's little <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/08/28/samsungs-p2-and-t10-bluetooth-players-stateside-in-september/">YP-P2</a>, AKA the "palm theater" (the company's words, not ours). Well, it looks like you won't have to wait much longer, as the eighth wonder of the media player world has just made an appearance on Amazon.com, with an option to put the 8GB, widescreen, touch sensitive, Bluetooth equipped iPod-challenger in your cart and do some serious checking out (provided you have an extra $249.99 laying around). Now, don't go spilling your beverage on yourself rushing over to the site, because even though you can pay for the thing, Amazon is still listing the player as "In stock soon," so while you'll be able to impress friends and family members with the news of your purchase, you won't actually be able to show it to them.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portablevideo/" rel="tag">Portable Video</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/18/samsungs-yp-p2-available-on-amazon/">Samsung's YP-P2 available on Amazon</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 18 Sep 2007 23:20:00 EST. We got our grubby mitts all over Samsung's new <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/08/14/samsungs-yepp-yp-p2-touchscreen-dap-with-bluetooth/">YP-P2</a> "palm theater" at IFA, and we'd thought we'd share all the widescreen havin', movie playin', music listenin' action with you. The player is extremely light and thin, but still feels pretty substantial in your hand (it's not tiny). The screen isn't quite as clear as something like the iPhone, though it definitely holds its own. The UI is clean and ultra simple, sporting easy-on-the-eyes lists for most sections, and a familiar icon grid for your main apps. The touch screen response was extra-lively, even for our gigantic paws. Check the gallery for more photos than you can shake a stick at. No... seriously, you can't shake a stick at them.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/hands-on-with-samsungs-yp-p2-widescreen-pmp/">Hands-on with Samsung's YP-P2 widescreen PMP</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/hands-on-with-samsungs-yp-p2-widescreen-pmp/#375482"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2007/08/p201_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/hands-on-with-samsungs-yp-p2-widescreen-pmp/#375488"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2007/08/p202_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/hands-on-with-samsungs-yp-p2-widescreen-pmp/#375487"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2007/08/p203_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/hands-on-with-samsungs-yp-p2-widescreen-pmp/#375491"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2007/08/p204_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/hands-on-with-samsungs-yp-p2-widescreen-pmp/#375489"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2007/08/p205_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portablevideo/" rel="tag">Portable Video</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/08/31/hands-on-with-samsungs-yp-p2-widescreen-pmp/">Hands-on with Samsung's YP-P2 widescreen PMP</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Fri, 31 Aug 2007 08:14:00 EST. We're just back from the WiFi-less Samsung PR space here at IFA in Berlin, and the report may be less than thrilling to most of our readers. Nevertheless, here's a quick recap of the events. First up on stage was Dr. Jong Woo Park, president of Samsung, who didn't have much to offer in the way of groundbreaking news, though he did emphasize his company's dedication to "user experience" with their products.<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/08/30/samsungs-ifa-press-conference-recap/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Samsung's IFA press conference recap</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/digitalcameras/" rel="tag">Digital Cameras</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/homeentertainment/" rel="tag">Home Entertainment</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portablevideo/" rel="tag">Portable Video</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/08/30/samsungs-ifa-press-conference-recap/">Samsung's IFA press conference recap</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 30 Aug 2007 06:25:00 EST. Ready for it? We've got the release date for Samsung's tasty new Bluetooth media players with FM tuners: the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/yp-p2">YP-P2</a> and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/yp-t10">YP-T10</a>. September. Ok, it's not so much a date as a range, but mark your calendars anyway and get to saving. How much? Good question, Sammy ain't saying, but you'd best start combing your pockets for the couple of hundie they'll demand. Think about it: the P2 (pictured) brings a proper 16:9 widescreen, 3-inch touchscreen display with up to 8GB of audio/video-hungry flash while the T10 wraps 4GB of your audio and video in a 0.3-inch, super thin dose of sex-ay. Just check the gallery and full specs after the break if you need more convincing.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsungs-p2-and-t10-bluetooth-players-stateside-in-september/">Samsung's P2 and T10 Bluetooth players: Stateside in September</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsungs-p2-and-t10-bluetooth-players-stateside-in-september/#370275"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2007/08/p2-white-top1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsungs-p2-and-t10-bluetooth-players-stateside-in-september/#370274"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2007/08/p2-burgundy1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsungs-p2-and-t10-bluetooth-players-stateside-in-september/#370243"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2007/08/p2-black-angle-view_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsungs-p2-and-t10-bluetooth-players-stateside-in-september/#370241"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2007/08/p2-black-sideview_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsungs-p2-and-t10-bluetooth-players-stateside-in-september/#370242"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2007/08/p2-black_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/08/28/samsungs-p2-and-t10-bluetooth-players-stateside-in-september/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Samsung's P2 and T10 Bluetooth players: Stateside in September</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portablevideo/" rel="tag">Portable Video</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/08/28/samsungs-p2-and-t10-bluetooth-players-stateside-in-september/">Samsung's P2 and T10 Bluetooth players: Stateside in September</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 28 Aug 2007 02:54:00 EST. <div align="left">We already caught sight of Samsung's new touchscreen-equipped <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/08/14/samsungs-yepp-yp-p2-touchscreen-dap-with-bluetooth/">Yepp YP-P2</a> DAP, but it looks like the company has a bit more in store for its Yepp line that just that, with it today officially introducing it along with two other new models. While there's little about the YP-P2 that we didn't already know, Samsung has revealed that it'll also be available in white, although it looks like it and black will be your only two options. As for the two other new players, the YP-S5 and YP-T10 each boast integrated Bluetooth, with the former sporting a built-in speaker and a 1.8-inch 222 x 176 display and the latter boasting a slightly larger 2-inch screen and a promised 30 hours of battery life. Each of those will apparently be available in 2GB, 4GB, and 8GB varieties, with the YP-T10 also set to be available in purple, red, and lime in addition to the standard black and white options. No word on price, but it looks like the whole lot is headed for Europe first.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-gets-official-with-yp-p2-yp-s5-yp-t10-daps/">Samsung gets official with YP-P2, YP-S5, YP-T10 DAPs</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-gets-official-with-yp-p2-yp-s5-yp-t10-daps/#355213"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2007/08/yp-p2_white_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-gets-official-with-yp-p2-yp-s5-yp-t10-daps/#355216"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2007/08/yp-s5_black_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-gets-official-with-yp-p2-yp-s5-yp-t10-daps/#355219"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2007/08/yp-s5_white_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-gets-official-with-yp-p2-yp-s5-yp-t10-daps/#355218"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2007/08/yp-t10_black_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-gets-official-with-yp-p2-yp-s5-yp-t10-daps/#355217"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2007/08/yp-t10_lime_angle_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><a href="http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&amp;sl=de&amp;u=http://www.samsung.com/at/presscenter/ifa07/index.asp&amp;sa=X&amp;oi=translate&amp;resnum=2&amp;ct=result&amp;prev=/search%3Fq%3DSamsung%2BYp%2BS5%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DG%26pwst%3D1">Read</a> - Samsung Press Release<br /><a href="http://www.pocket-lint.co.uk/news/news.phtml/9428/10452/samsung-yp-s5-yp-t10-mp3-players.phtml">Read</a>- Pocket-lint, "Samsung YP-S5 and YP-T10 announced"<br /></div>

Ok we admit it, we thought the device pictured over the weekend by<em> Akihabara News</em> was just the iPhone obscured by that iLuv case. But really, those pics were a bit preoccupied with something other than the, ehem, gadget. Fortunately, the good kids over at <em>dapreview</em> sorted it out with pictures and a video of Samsung's sleek new flash player: the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/yepp">Yepp</a> YP-P2. A bit of digging also reveals plenty of specs courtesy of several unsubstantiated German language sites. These include up to 8GB of flash; biggie 3-inch, 428 x 240 pixel touch-screen display; MP3, WMV, WMA, and H.264 (MPEG4 AVC), MPEG-4 (ASF) support; Bluetooth (oh yes); integrated speaker and mic; and FM radio in a device just 100 x 52 x 9.2-mm thin. They've even implemented some of that <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/02/02/apples-patented-the-tablet-mac-part-ii/">virtual click-wheel</a> action hinted at by Apple patent applications but never quite implemented. Check another pic and video walkthrough of the interface after the break. <br /><br /><a href="http://www.dapreview.net/news.php?extend.4055">Read</a> -- dapreview <br /><a href="http://www.preisvergleich.co.at/Preisvergleich/Portable_Audioplayer/548111/Samsung/YP-P2_8GB.html">Read</a> -- unconfirmed specs <br /><a href="http://www.akihabaranews.com/en/news-14544-A+week+in+Pusan+with+my+iLuv+and+my+Yepp.html">Read</a> -- Akihabara News P2 promotion<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/08/14/samsungs-yepp-yp-p2-touchscreen-dap-with-bluetooth/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Samsung's Yepp YP-P2 touchscreen DAP with Bluetooth</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portablevideo/" rel="tag">Portable Video</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/08/14/samsungs-yepp-yp-p2-touchscreen-dap-with-bluetooth/">Samsung's Yepp YP-P2 touchscreen DAP with Bluetooth</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 14 Aug 2007 02:56:00 EST.
