First in the "we're surprised they did it" category today is Motorola's ZN300, a handset that doesn't look even a little like a RAZR. We knew you could do it Moto, and congrats on what seems at first glance to be a pleasant departure form the rehashes we've seen so much of lately. The ZN300 is a slider set with quad-band GSM, CDMA, and TD-SCDMA, which makes this set a shoe-in for China mobile. Other notables include 8 MB (hopefully a typo for 8GB) of built in memory that can expand to 32GB, 3 megapixel camera with 8X zoom, Bluetooth, and styling that finally may make some people take notice. Sure this handset may not deserve a ZOMG!, but hey, we're happy to see something, anything, new from these folks. Look for it to launch this quarter; follow on for a wee gallery.[Via UnwiredView]%Gallery-46411%

It's not unheard of for a phone to look better in press shots than in real life, and unless our eyes are badly deceived, we'd say that's exactly the case with Motorola's ZN300. Russia's own Mobile-Review has somehow come across a smattering of images for the not-yet-released slider, and while the UI isn't really doing anything for us, we're curiously intrigued by its faintly futuristic design. Hit the read link and see what we mean, won'tcha?[Via UnwiredView, thanks to everyone who sent this in]

  • Motorola ZN300 looks possibly okay, sort of

We knew the name, but when it comes to phones, it's not really the name we care about, now is it? (Is it?) Looks like we now have the first totally unofficial shot of Motorola's upcoming ZN300 slider, said to feature a QVGA display and 3 megapixel cam around back. Unless this puppy runs Android through some comical error in communication between Moto's executive and engineering teams, the glossy front, generous bezel, and rockin' offset "M" logo aren't enough to do it for us -- but we're sure they'll manage to sell a few for a song on contract when it's finally announced. Go, sk8r boi, go![Via PHONE Magazine]

So, there's good news and not-so-awesome news. As for the former, we've got four new Motorola handsets that look to be as good as definite. As for the latter, there's only a sliver of a chance you'll actually be interested in owning one. That said, those looking for a new dumbphone (and unwilling to wait for the bounties sure to unfold at Mobile World Congress) can have a gander at the VE465, ZN300, QA4 and VE66 Lux. Unfortunately, the only one which has bothered to show its whole self (and not just its face) is the above pictured VE465, which we already knew was on the way courtesy of the FCC. Prep your best yawn and hit the read link if you're ready for more.
