We're not going to pretend to show even the slightest hint of excitement over this one -- but be that as it may, you've gotta respect that it does have a demographic ready and willing to buy (or, at least, get one free on contract). A Samsung web page devoted to the SGH-a127 reveals that data tops out at GPRS -- yes, that's right, no EDGE -- the camera offers up nothing more than VGA resolution, and the 160 x 128 internal color and 96 x 96 external black and white displays aren't about to wow anyone. In fact, there isn't even any Bluetooth, so you'll need to use the speakerphone if you want to take the handset away from your ear. We're sorry, this is 2007, isn't it? According to our latest AT&T intel, we should've seen this one on the 4th, so we imagine it'll start to show up (with minimal fanfare) any day now.[Via phoneArena]Update: The a127's apparently already showing up in retail locations (prepaid only, no surprise) for $80. Don't all run down to the AT&T store at once now!

Like pretty much everything else in life, carriers' launch dates tend to slip, sometimes to the extreme (oh, come on, you can't tell us you've never procrastinated to the point where you couldn't make a due date!). To that end, we've gotten an updated look at AT&T's expected drop dates, and it seems like the wait has gotten a little longer for a few of the more anticipated handsets in the pipe. Some devices like the red version of the Nokia 6555 have slipped a couple weeks, while others -- the lowly Samsung A127 comes to mind -- have actually moved up. The Pantech Duo has also been pushed out from October 9 to the 30th, possibly to give the just-launched Tilt a little breathing room in the spotlight. Click on for the full list![Thanks, Kal-El]Update: A second source is telling us that the Duo is still tracking for shipment "on or about" the 9th. Of course, the proof is in the pudding -- but either way, at least we'll be getting our Duo on before the month's out.

We've received some information detailing phones that AT&T apparently plans to launch in the not-too-distant future; we don't even have dates or prices just yet, but a few of these are juicy enough so that we thought we'd pass it along anyhow. Samsung looks to be launching the A117 "Jayhawk" and A127 "Mbenz" (both on prepaid), the A517 "Lion," and the A737 "Peridot" in metal, orange, and lime. Nokia contributes the attractive 6555 "Inferno" and a refreshed N75 with stereo Bluetooth and a new UI. From LG we get the CU515 "Chiwoo" and CU720 "Saturn," while Pantech brings us that crazy dual slide Windows Mobile 6 device as the C810b. Good times![Thanks, Tasty Thirds]
