Behold the power of iPad. It can charm even the most non-technological of artists. This video highlights a Finnish a cappella group (i.e., a chorus that normally sings without accompaniment, creating all harmonies through voice) who have finally gotten their hands on iPads. Here, they rock out to Madonna's "Material Girl" using iPad-based instrument applications. It's a lovely little video and a nice demonstration of how beautifully the iPad has evolved from a basic tablet into an artistic medium. Chorus member Jani Halme tells TUAW, "Naturally, we shot this using iPhones." The iPad debuted in Finland just a week ago.

Since only a fraction of Joystiq is headquartered out of Boston, MA we unfortunately aren't eligible to be honored with "Top Places to Work" awards like Beatles: Rock Band developers Harmonix, nonetheless host a company-wide singing contest. If we could though, we'd like to think our singing chops would at least match the five gentlemen (four from audio and one engineer) found singing Paramore's "That's What You Get" after the break. Winning first "among mid-size companies" and third overall in The Boston Globe's "Top Places to Work" survey, the 320 employee-strong music/rhythm-game studio was praised for its studio-wide a cappella singing competition. "I would do a lot to stay here," says senior writer Helen McWilliams. "It's really hard to imagine going from this company to any other company." That whole "making successful games" thing probably doesn't hurt either. (Thanks, DarkArchon)

If there is one thing we can appreciate, it's talent. And these folk have it, as the students from Hermann Wesselink College manage to bust out into a pair of great Nintendo themes a capella style. They handle a choice selection from The Legend of Zelda, as well as Super Mario Bros. in the video above. If our school had stuff like this back when we were in our developing stages, maybe we would've paid attention and not grown up to become blogging scum. Update: Some readers point out that this isn't a capella. Sorry folks, we're not a music blog![Thanks, SpinachConvention!]

This one's a bit of an old one, but we just love it when people come together to celebrate Nintendo and their many priceless contributions to the world. This video focuses on an a capella group with a love for Mario, Nintendo's Italian plumber we all know and love, as they lay down the music and even act a bit of the game out.The real question is, though, does this group beat Ted's from Scrubs?
