Game developers are always looking for new and exciting ways for you to give them your money. To that end, En Masse has partnered up with Amazon.com to sell TERA chronoscrolls, which are redeemable for a month of game time or for cold, hard gold from in-game brokers. Chronoscroll purchases through Amazon don't come with a clunky ol' code that has to be entered in anywhere. Instead, sweetening the deal, chronoscrolls will appear automagically in your in-game Item Claim window. Need more convincing? Customers who integrate their En Masse and Amazon accounts in the next 30 days will get free stuff! The federation field kit, full of in-game goodies, will be available for free from Amazon. Check out the official news post for full details and the TERA + Amazon support page if this sounds like your kind of thing.

  • MacBook Air supply dwindling for online retailers, rumor mill raises an eyebrow

In the market for a MacBook Air? Well, now may not be the best time. Apple Insider is reporting indirect sales channels (read: non-Apple stores) are running out of the thin-and-light with no indication of a replenishment. Indeed, we just checked Amazon, Best Buy, and a few other online retailers and were consistently greeted by limited- and out-of-stock notices. So, you know what the means -- new hardware rumors. Or rather, old ones resurfacing, such as the 11.6-inch display from late September. Compounding the community's curiosity would be vague tweets from famed company insider John Gruber, who casually mentioned "the imminent" new MacBook Air as a possible reason for the recent Apple Store downtime. Of course, that didn't turn out to be the case, and for all we know it could just mean some refreshed specs -- if even that, really. AI reminds us that October has been historically the month of refreshed Mac hardware in the lead-up to holiday shopping... but that doesn't mean it's the case now. All we really know now is that third-party outlets aren't currently stocking the Air and it's unknown if they're getting anymore shipments of this particular model -- which, we know, isn't nearly as exciting as the imagination. Sorry about that. [Thanks to everyone who sent this in]

  • Amazon's 17 separate Rock Band 2 listings ... for Nintendo 64

While not as funny as Circuit City's "$10,000" Madden PSP bundle, Amazon has listed every Rock Band 2 game, bundle, peripheral and the Rock Band Track Pack as coming to Nintendo 64. While we were quick to assume this meant an overindulgent revival of the best Nintendo console ever, we quickly came back to reality after we noticed the box shots were showing the correct consoles (Xbox 360, PS3, etc.). Revival averted.%Gallery-29753% [Thanks, Justin!]

  • Gears 2 Lancer bundle selling like 'hot cakes'

Epic Games wants you to know that the Gears of War 2 Lancer bundle (the one that's exclusive to Amazon.com) is selling like "hot cakes" even at the $139 price point. They probably want you to know that so they can further fuel demand by making the product appear to be limited as its sales success soars. We can totally see through all that marketing fluff. Hot cake sales quotes aside, we also learn that the toy Lancer is in fact electronic and with the power of three C size batteries (probably not included), the 36" replica shakes and makes epic chainsaw sounds. Authentic chainsaw sounds! Sign us up for two!

Here it is fellow Gearheads, the Amazon.com exclusive Gears of War 2 Lancer in all her (yup, it's a her) chainsaw glory. Best thing about it, she's bundled with a copy of the game too. Joy!Amazon.com just opened up pre-orders for the Gears 2 Lancer bundles that cost a cool $139.99. Bundle? Hells yeah! With the purchase of the Amazon.com exclusive Lancer, all purchasers will receive a FREE copy of the regular edition of Gears of War 2. Add an extra $10 to for the Limited Edition. Simply click your way over to Amazon.com, add both the toy Lancer and a copy of Gears 2 (whichever edition you prefer) and they'll subtract $59.99 from your order total. It may not be a Microsoft sponsored edition of the game (technically they didn't lie), but it'll work just fine for us. Cliff would be proud![Thanks, Andrew Laychak]

  • Microsoft: No Gears of War 2 Lancer bundle from us

After dealing with a healthy does of confusion over the mysterious $130 Gears of War 2 Lancer bundle, we can finally say that we have this mystery solved. And you can chalk up all the bundle talk to big misunderstanding of words. Microsoft just informed us that: "We have officially announced a Standard Edition ($59.99 USD) and Limited Edition ($69.99) for 'Gears of War 2', which will both be available on November 7th, 2008 worldwide. Retailers often create their own bundles to appeal to specific customers. The 'Lancer' bundle referenced at San Diego Comic-Con is not a package being offered by Microsoft Game Studios."So, there you have it. Microsoft is not creating a third $130 GoW2 Lancer bundle SKU and Cliff (more than likely) was just talking about the Lancer replica being created exclusively through Amazon.com. Though, the door is still open to the possibility that Amazon.com may create a Gears of War 2 Lancer replica bundle itself, but we haven't heard any official info from them. You can now sleep soundly tonight and save your $130.

  • Halo 3 climbs Japan's Amazon list

The Japanese culture may be coming around to what us 360 owning Westerners are obsessed with. No, not apple pie or our love of gas guzzling vehicles, instead they are willing to experience a little game called Halo 3. Currently sitting at the number two spot on the Japanese Amazon.com video game best seller list is Halo 3. Number two! Even more interesting is that yesterday Halo 3 was sitting on top of the rankings listed in the number one position. Master Chief's Spartan charm must be wearing down the Japanese culture's wall they've put up against Western games. Good job Halo 3, you may have finally cracked the code and could be the key to getting Japanese gamers to experience the 360. Though, we doubt it.
