Nadirim, the Hungarian-made browser-based free-to-play game inspired by the myths and fables of the Arabian desert, is now available through the Aeria Games network. Aeria added the Arabian-themed fantasy game to its vast array of other free-to-play titles. Players looking for something a bit different than the standard medieval fantasy fare can jump into the role of Rogue, Warrior, or Sage and delve into a landscape of vast, unforgiving deserts punctuated by remote oases or wander through bustling towns. Although the world is open, combat is turn-based and takes place on a grid, making strategy an important element of the battle. Additionally, players who find the battle going against them can call for the aid of other adventurers who can join in the fight and assist. The game is available to play now, and common to all Aeria Games titles, there is no download or subscription needed. [Source: Aeria Games press release]

If you're sick of the usual European fantasy flavor in your MMOs, Twisted Tribe's Arabian-themed Nadirim might be the cure for what ails you. The Hungarian-made F2P browser-based game is set in a hand-drawn, open world of sand dunes, magic lamps, and minarets, where gamers can adventure as a Sage, Warrior, or Rogue. According to the press release: Beginning with just a small weapon and some basic armor, players are challenged to roam through the empire of Nadirim. Customizing their hero to their liking, while exploring the enchanted settings, players can join forces to defeat the legions of the Nadir, the evil djinn bringing darkness to a world where eternal sunshine has been present for generations. Our own Beau Hindman featured Nadirim in his Rise and Shiny column last August. Work on localization and an expansion are already underway, but in the meantime, you can start playing right now on the official site. [Source: Twisted Tribe press release]

After 1001 Arabian Nights of beta testing, the Middle-Eastern-flavored Nadirim is finally launching on November 7th. The game will launch with three classes and a unique world full of mystical elements including djinns and flying carpets. Nadirim is Twisted Tribe's first MMO, and the company is placing high expectations on its future. "We wanted to create a game that stands out among browser games and we are on the right path. We'll be rolling out features and expansions throughout the year. We're focused on bringing players a magical gaming experience," said Twisted Tribe's Balazs Sipocz. As it is both a free-to-play title and fully playable within a browser, Nadirim is accessible as can be for the curious adventurer looking for a change of scenery. The beta process resulted in several changes and additions to the game, including PvP duels, better combat mechanics, and a bigger open world experience. Twisted Tribe is holding a contest to reward players for inviting friends into the game, and will be handing out in-game currency as prizes. If you're curious about what Nadirim is like, make sure to watch our Rise and Shiny recap of it from August. [Source: Twisted Tribe press release]

When free-to-play browser MMOs are -- seemingly -- a dime a dozen these days, it requires a little something special for a title to stand out. Nadirim hopes that its Arabian Nights setting is enough to do the trick, using the mysterious sands of the desert and the rich mythology of the region as the backdrop to an exciting saga. Nadirim just announced that it is entering the closed beta stage of development, and Twisted Tribe is handing out a number of keys to willing testers. Currently, the closed beta is featuring three of the game's five classes -- Warrior, Ruffian and Sage -- and has a level cap of 15. Other features, such as PvP and guilds, are slated to be patched in later. If you're interested, you can apply to be a tester on the official website. Steel yourself if you do decide to undergo this brutal process, for you will be asked to enter your email address and click "Submit!" We don't blame you if it's too overwhelming.
