One of the fun things about One Shots is getting to drink in pictures of all the fabulous locales around the MMOGscape that we may never see otherwise. Today's fabulously detailed screenshot from EverQuest II comes to us from fellow blogger Araxes, aka Ratwarlock, who captured this image on his recent adventures and writes in: "This was taken in the Abandoned Lab, one of the Vasty Deep dungeons, released with last year's Sentinel's Fate expansion. Here we are looking at the library. The texture work in the Vasty Deep dungeons is incredibly detailed, and the columns of books in this room are a great example of that. What you don't see in this screenshot is the giant glass enclosure that surrounds this room, which is essentially an aquarium, complete with shark swimming by." Have a great screenshot from your recent travels? We'd love to see it! Just email it to us here at oneshots@massively.com along with your name, the name of the game, and a note telling us more about what we're seeing in the image. Then keep an eye on the site, as yours could be one of the great images we feature here on One Shots. %Gallery-112285%

  • One Shots: Whistling up a furious storm

When it comes to fancy mounts, you might think of having a mount that can take passengers, a unique mount you had to work extra-hard for, or perhaps one of the fanciest ones you've seen in the cash shop. However, unless you can harness the power of the weather to get around, we'd say this one stands a chance as being one of the most unique ones out there! Today's stormy EverQuest II picture (and witty title) comes in to us from fellow MMO blogger Araxes, aka Ratwarlock, who writes in to explain: "[Here's a picture of] my Sarnak Fury, crouched atop his magical storm cloud. The Sarnak have some great animations, and the way they peek out from this cloud as they fly along really looks great. It's pretty funny to see one go flying by, too. Of course, no Fury would be complete without a little lightning." One Shots is always on the lookout for more screenshots from readers. If you're playing an MMO we don't often see here, we'd love to hear from you. Just email your screenshot in to us here at oneshots@massively.com along with your name, the name of the game, and a description of what we're seeing. We'll do the rest! %Gallery-112285%

Sure, most of the continental US is suffering snowmageddon, but in EverQuest II, Frostfell left yesterday, so it's back to normal. Mind you, in a fantasy world, "normal" is a relative thing. Take, for example, today's One Shots from Araxes, aka Ratwarlock. This Froglok may think he's being all sneaky, but he might want to go over his Rogue training! Ratwarlock writes in to explain: "Here is one of my alts, trying to hide in the shadows -- the bright and sparkly shadows only Kelethin could provide. Frogloks never were much good at being inconspicuous, and Kelethin can be blindingly bright in the late afternoon and early evening. Of course, there is a fae two feet from him. And it is really, REALLY bright... he didn't think that one through." If you've found something silly in your favorite MMO, we'd love to see a screenshot of it. It's easy to do! Email your image in to us here at oneshots@massively.com along with your name, the name of the game, and a description of what we're seeing. Please make sure your images are at least 1024 pixels across and have no UI showing. Your image could be the next one we pick to post here on Massively! %Gallery-112285%

With SOE having now rolled out the EverQuest II Extended servers into a soft launch, there are tons of folks heading into Norrath to check out the game. Meanwhile, life continues as normal on the EverQuest II servers, with higher-level groups heading into strange dungeons. One such example is the spot we see in today's One Shots, courtesy of fellow MMO blogger Ratwarlock, who also goes by Araxes on the Antonia Bayle server. He notes that this "is from the interior of the Necrotic Asylum, another of the 6-man instanced dungeons" from The Shadow Odyssey. Ratwarlock also assures us that the dungeon this was taken in is "one of the harder ones!" Calling all MMO players! We need your screenshots for One Shots. If you've seen anything fun, imposing, interesting, or silly, we want to hear from you. If you haven't, gather up your group of friends and go have some fun -- then send some screens of that in! All MMOs -- from large-budget to tiny indie, East to West -- are welcome. Send them to us here at oneshots@massively.com along with your name/server/game and a quick description of what we're seeing. Reader submissions keep One Shots running, so send some in today! %Gallery-85937%

While undoubtedly one of the most evil races on Norrath, the Iksar are certainly interesting to look at. What might these three be planning? Well, we have no idea -- save that it probably means trouble for the other races around the world. Today's richly detailed EverQuest II screenshot comes to us from Ratwarlock, also known as Araxes on the Antonia Bayle server. He writes in to tell us a bit more about the image: "[This] is simply a striking shot of 3 Iksar around a campfire. Iksar are a lizard-like warrior race, evil aligned, proud and ambitious. It also illustrates the shadow system, and to great effect I think -- particularly on the armor shading." Are you playing an MMO we don't get to see that often? Why not send in your screenshots to show off the lands you call home. It's easy to do. Just email them in to us here at oneshots AT massively DOT com along with your name, the name of the game, and a brief description of what we're seeing. Guild and server information is welcome too. Yours could be the next one we highlight here on One Shots! %Gallery-85937%

When you look up into the night skies over EverQuest II, you can see the shattered remains of Luclin, the place we were first introduced to the Vah Shir in EverQuest. Since those times, we have come to know the Kerrans, relatives of the Vah Shir -- long in hiding on Norrath due to massive suffering at the hands of the Erudites. Today's steely EverQuest II One Shots comes to us from fellow MMO fiend, Ratwarlock (also known as Araxes) who writes in: [this] is a Kerra Troubador standing just inside the entrance to the Temple of Cazic Thule, located in the jungle Feerott. This has been in-game since 2004, and I love the waterfall there.Do you have a great screenshot you'd like to share? Well don't be shy and send it in! Mail it to us here at oneshots AT massively DOT com along with your name, the name of the game it's from, and your description. We'll post it out here for everyone to enjoy and give you credit. %Gallery-9798%

Where does one put a fallen hero? Well, if you're a follower of fantasy, the best place is in an ornate subterranean vault, much like this fascinating one from EverQuest II. Today's One Shots image comes to us from EverQuest II blogger Ratwarlock, who writes in to explain this for the rest of us: [This] is a picture of a rarely visited zone, the Crypt of Betrayal. It is the 3rd sub-level of the Qeynosian catacombs, and used to be visited quite often in the early days of the game, but I doubt many players even know it exists, now. The artwork stands the test of time, however! Extremely detailed. We love to look around MMOs, and appreciate each and every reader who sends in their "postcards" from the front lines of various worlds. If you'd like to send in an image, we'll be glad to run it. Just email it to us at oneshots AT massively DOT com along with your name, the name of the game, and a quick description. Simple, no?%Gallery-9798%
