NASA is putting hundreds of historical videos on YouTube
As part of its mission to make its research easier to access, NASA is uploading decades' worth of archived footage to YouTube. So far around 300 videos have been uploaded, with a further 200 on the way. Each clip documents an important part of NASA's history, including Space Shuttle landing research, X1 and X43A trial flights and the testing of the Lunar Landing Research Vehicle.
T-Mobile's holiday roadmap leaked: LG Optimus L9, HTC Windows Phone 8X spotted
According to a leaked roadmap on TMoNews, the magenta carrier appears to have a few tantalizing offerings coming its way this holiday season. A curious BlackBerry handheld dubbed the Armstrong, a color refresh of the Samsung Galaxy S II, a possibly Android-flavored Huawei Summit and the LG Optimus L9 are all slated to launch just on or before Halloween. Going into the next month, we see the HTC Windows Phone 8X making the pre-Thanksgiving cut with a potential debut of November 14th. Notably absent are the Samsung Galaxy Note II and the Nokia Lumia 810, but that doesn't mean they won't be there when December rolls around. Of course, this info didn't come through official channels, so we wouldn't bank on any of the handsets as holiday gifts just yet. Still, its nice to know they're coming, and you can get the full details on these and other devices at the source.
One Shots: The desert at dawn
Despite the mutated chickens with enormous jaws, hideously deformed wolves, giant bugs, and the plethora of crazed humans out to kill you, there are moments of peace to be found in the scrub-lands of Fallen Earth. Today we have this image of a clone, recently having found himself thrust into the harsh reality of a post-apocalyptic world, left to find his own way. Even with all the things out to maim, eat, skewer, mutilate or just flat-out kill him, Armstrong couldn't resist stopping to enjoy a quiet moment before the sun came up. RCN adds MGM HD in Chicago
Moving one closer to the promised 100 HD channels, RCN has added MGM HD in Chicago. Previously noted as coming to DirecTV and FiOS, we're still waiting to see MGM's 4,100 movie-based channel and VOD platform on a few other providers, but ACE Communications, Antietam Cable and Armstrong Communications subscribers should have it soon. Meanwhile, RCN customers can feel comfort knowing that at least a small piece of the date-TBD 100 HD channel future, is now.
