The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask is already out on Virtual Console in PAL territories, which means that we won't be distracted from the real star of today's downloadable game lineup, Art Style: PiCOPiCT. One part Quarth and one part Nintendo fanservice, this puzzle game uses falling-block shapes as the material through which Nintendo sprites are assembled. Perhaps more importantly, playing the game awards coins that can be used to purchase chiptune remixes of classic NES music (by YMCK) to enjoy in the in-game music player. Also on DSiWare: a DSi version of Gameloft's mobile adventure game Pop Superstar: Road to Celebrity. Art Style: PiCOPiCT (1 player, 500 DSi Points) Pop Superstar: Road to Celebrity (1 player, 800 DSi Points) WiiWare: Crystal Defenders R2 (1 player, 800 Wii Points) Penguins & Friends: Hey! That's My Fish! (1-4 players, 800 Wii Points)

As mentioned in the announcement of Squibs Arcade, Nintendo of Europe is holding a WiiWare (and DSiWare) media summit this week. During the event, Nintendo released a list of WiiWare and DSiWare games planned for release between April and June. On WiiWare, the biggest news is Cave Story! Even though we knew it was scheduled for release in April or May, seeing more confirmation of that (for more regions) is great! Swords & Soldiers is also on the way. In addition, there are also a few games we haven't heard much (or anything) about. Each game has a brief description in Nintendo's announcement. Bonsai Barber Cave Story ColorZ Crystal Defenders R1 Icarian: Kindred Spirits LIT Overturn: Mecha Wars Robocalypse: Beaver Defense Spaceball: Revolution Squibs Arcade Swords & Soldiers Water Warfare In DSiWare, the most exciting title (to us) is Nintendo's Art Style: PiCOPiCT, a retro-Nintendo-themed puzzler with reinterpreted NES music by YMCK. Silently, so as not to disturb anyone, Nintendo has added eight new DSiWare games to their Japanese website, all of which come out on the 28th! As in two days from now. The games include: Solitaire DSi (200 Points) Nintendo DSi Tokei, a clock app that can display photos (200 Points) Hobonichi Rozenzu, a travel guide to Japan (500 Points) Art Style: PiCOPiCT, a chiptunes puzzle game! (500 Points) Art Style: SOMNIUM, a puzzle game about sliding rows of slots to match up with same-colored spheres (example screens here) (500 Points) Chotto Panel de Pon, a mini version of Planet Puzzle League (500 Points) Chotto Suujin Taisen, a Japanese board game (500 Points) Chotto Asobi Taizen: Jikkuri Trump, a card game (500 Points) If you have a Japanese DSi, we are officially totally jealous. Think of us while you're totally not appreciating Art Style: PiCOPiCT as much as we would be. It's clearly the standout of the group, featuring new arrangements of 8-bit Nintendo classics by chiptune superstars YMCK!
