Stormrage by Richard A. Knaak has made USA Today's Top 150 Best Selling Books list, coming in at #126 of the best selling books based on sales through February 28, 2010. Apparently the ebook community is embracing the new story as well: Stormrage hit #8 on the best seller list for ebooks from BooksOnBoard. The latest offering in the World of Warcraft line of novels, Stormrage continues the story of events that the green dragonflight have been dealing with since World of Warcraft's launch: Nightmares have invaded the Emerald Dream, Malfurion Stormrage is nowhere to be seen, the Dragons of Nightmare are busting out of portals, and it looks like the whole of the Emerald Dream is in danger of permanent corruption. With Stormrage, we finally get to see what's been brewing for five years now -- no wonder it's popular! You can pick up a copy of Stormrage at the Blizzard Store for yourself. Check out our full review of the novel, and our refresher course on the history of Malfurion Stormrage.

It seems virtual voyeurism never goes out of style. A recent Electronic Arts press release has informed us that The Sims 3 was last year's best-selling PC game across the globe, according to Chart-track UK, NPD Group, GfK and the publisher's own internal estimates. We imagine a bit of number crunching went into the aforementioned estimates -- we don't think they'd leave that kind of thing to water cooler talk. "So, what do you think, Mark? Best game ever? Yes, great. It's official." The EA presser also boasts the company's optimistic outlook on 2010, as the Sims 3 community continues to tinker around with the Create A World tools. Check out this neat, Robinson Crusoe-esque Machinima to see what these tools are capable of!

Gamasutra's weekly analysis of top game sales offers a great temperature reading on the hottest new gaming properties. It's interesting to note, then, that MMOs are in the top five across all three major gaming markets in the PC category. Age of Conan, of course, is a major contributor to this distinction. The regular box for Conan takes the top spot in American PC sales, while the elusive Collector's edition clocks in an #3.Over in Europe, MMOs dominate the chart. Conan is in the top spot, while World of Warcraft grabs #2 and the Burning Crusade expansion has a lock on slot #3. Though Age of Conan doesn't appear on Japan's top five chart, the newest Final Fantasy XI collection does. Spot number 3 in the Asian country goes to the venerable massive game. These numbers come from Amazon.com, so take that bias into account when judging these results. Still, the EU sales are particularly interesting; perhaps a spike in WoW sales prompted by the recent Lich King news drop?
