We've <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/01/30/blackberry-q10-hands-on/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">already gone hands-on</a> with the device, and you'll get to do the same come April, but we couldn't help wondering: how does it stack up against its spiritual forebear, the BlackBerry Bold? We snapped a handful of comparison shots to answer just that question, which you can see for yourself in the gallery below.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/blackberry-bold-vs-blackberry-q10-fight/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">BlackBerry Bold vs BlackBerry Q10: Fight!</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/blackberry-bold-vs-blackberry-q10-fight/5607605?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2013/01/dsc05899-1359566118_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/blackberry-bold-vs-blackberry-q10-fight/5607606?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2013/01/dsc05900-1359566119_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/blackberry-bold-vs-blackberry-q10-fight/5607607?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2013/01/dsc05903-1359566121_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/blackberry-bold-vs-blackberry-q10-fight/5607608?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2013/01/dsc05904-1359566123_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/blackberry-bold-vs-blackberry-q10-fight/5607610?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2013/01/dsc05906-1359566123_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div></p>

All-or-nothing. Live-or-die. Make-or-break. There's some truth to the extreme language, but BlackBerry 10 is really just the latest in a series of transformational moments for a company that has frequently had to adapt to survive. In that sense, the appreciation for crises and opportunities is almost as natural as breathing for RIM. What's less certain is whether or not the company in 2013 is as capable of wholesale shifts in strategy as it was for much of its not quite 30-year history. Read on to see why reform is possible, but won't be quite so easy.</p>

According to <em>N4BB</em>, the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/rim/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Waterloo-based outfit</a> briefly listed the device on its App World Vendor Portal, but unfortunately there's not too much to dig into, as the listing doesn't reveal specs or any other juicy information to give us a better idea of what we can expect from this intrepid handset. <em>N4BB</em> does think BlackBerry's 9730 could just be a CDMA variant of the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/11/15/blackberry-bold-9790-hands-on-video/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Bold 9790</a>, though we'll have to hold off on any assumptions until we have something more concrete.</p><p> <strong>Update</strong>: <em>N4BB </em>has updated its post after getting a response from RIM indicating that this was "simply an error on their part." Satisfied? We're not, yet, so we've contacted RIM for a statement.</p><p> <strong>Update 2:</strong> We've heard back from RIM and the company's told us this was nothing but a "typo gone viral," as the listing was supposed to be for a BlackBerry Curve 9370.</p>

<p> <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/03/mastercard-paypass-ready-certifies-17-phones?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img alt="Image" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/05/mastercard-paypass-ready-mini.jpg" style="margin: 16px 12px; width: 180px; height: 245px; float: right;" /></a>MasterCard is widening the universe of phones that officially support <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/paypass?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">PayPass</a> in a big way, with a new MasterCard PayPass Ready program certifying that devices with <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/NFC/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">NFC</a> will play nicely with its mobile payment system. A total of 17 phones are part of the first wave getting the official A-OK. Some of these are known quantities already using PayPass, like the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/20/lg-viper-4g-lte-review/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">LG Viper 4G LTE </a>and the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/11/24/galaxy-nexus-hspa-review/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Samsung Galaxy Nexus HSPA+</a>, but others are new to the PayPass ways. Among the picks are the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/01/htc-one-x-for-att-review/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">HTC One X</a>, Intel's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/01/10/intel-demos-medfield-based-smartphone-reference-design-at-ces-v/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">smartphone reference device</a> and the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/11/nfc-version-of-nokia-lumia-610/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Nokia Lumia 610 NFC</a>. A raft of <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/01/18/rim-turkcell-bring-nfc-payments-to-turkey/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">BlackBerrys</a> and lower-end Samsung Galaxy phones are likewise in the fray. While only a handful of these might ever work with <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/google+wallet?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Google Wallet</a> or other US-focused NFC payment methods, you can check out the full roster in the release after the break.</p>

So, it's not officially called PlayRobot, but if there was a naming convention, we guess that would be it. The buggy has a mounted camera, which relays video back to a PlayBook over a WiFi connection set up via a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/05/02/blackberry-bold-9900-hands-on/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">BlackBerry 9900</a>. The six-wheeler is controlled by an on-screen joystick, much like many tablet versions of arcade games. It's an entrant into this weekend's Robot Challenge in Vienna, so thanks to that video link, at the very least, if it doesn't win they can't say they didn't see it coming.

Simply dubbed "Be Bold," the ad campaign focuses <em>boldly</em> on the famed <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/bbm/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">BlackBerry Messenger</a>, as well as the productivity aspects found in the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/08/16/blackberry-bold-9930-review/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">9900</a>. Research in Motion is also taking a swing at its competitors with expressions like "I'm about action, not distraction" and "we need tools, not toys." At this point, the Canadian manufacturer <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/01/23/rim-stock-falls-ceo-transition/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">will take what it can get</a>, thus it shouldn't come as a surprise that it's showing off what some consider its best traits. Wondering what all the fuss is about? Head on past the break to take a quick 30-second glimpse and see if it's enough to get you over to the Bold side.</div>

Research In Motion and Turkcell have announced the availability of touchless <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/nfc?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">NFC</a> payments for the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/06/24/blackberry-bold-9900-preview-video/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">BlackBerry Bold 9900</a> via Turkcell's Cep-T C&uuml;zdan mobile application. Interested parties can visit their local Turkcell retailer to trade-up to an NFC-compatible SIM, load the Cep-T application and begin swiping their Berry wherever (worldwide) MasterCard PayPass is accepted. Purchases under 35TL (around $20) won't require any additional verification, though procurements over that threshold will require you to enter a PIN on the handset or tender your signature. Hopefully, with MasterCard, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/01/12/visa-certifies-nfc-equipped-android-blackberry-smartphones-for/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Visa</a> and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/05/26/google-wallet-mobile-payment-service-google-offers-announced/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Google</a> all aboard the NFC bandwagon, 2012 will see a major push towards the technology here in the US.</div>

	It's been a few months in the works, but the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/08/16/blackberry-bold-9930-review/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">BlackBerry 9900</a> and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/08/16/blackberry-torch-9850-review/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Torch 9860</a> have finally received <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/08/03/atandt-to-launch-blackberry-torch-9810-this-month-torch-9860-and/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">AT&amp;T's stamp of approval</a> and will be available this coming Sunday. And as an added bonus, the Curve 9360 isn't too far behind, jumping onto the lineup November 20th (though if you're a business or government customer, you'll be able to snag one on the 14th). Pricing? With two-year commitments, the Bold 9900 will wind up costing $200, the Torch 9860 can be yours for $100 and the Curve 9360 will be a mere $30. The Torch appears to be destined only for virtual shelves right now, though we're not certain if it'll be making a physical appearance in retail stores any time soon. Get all of the deets in the presser after the break.</div>

There's no QNX (or <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/10/18/research-in-motion-announces-bbx-combines-the-best-of-blackber/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">BBX</a>, we should say) here, but the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/08/16/blackberry-bold-9930-review/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Bold 9930</a> is still taking baby steps towards the future with BlackBerry OS 7. Now that you've had a few months to tinker with your latest and greatest, we're interested to hear how you'd tweak things if given the keys to Waterloo. Would you make it look a bit more like <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/10/27/porsche-design-p9981-blackberry-provides-a-long-awaited-design/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">this</a>? Change up the screen? Toss that chrome ring around the edge? Chunk it to another carrier? Go on and get creative in comments below, but keep it civil, cool?

	BlackBerry users haven't had a whole lot to celebrate in <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/10/12/rim-clarifies-global-service-outage-doesnt-provide-eta-for-res/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">recent</a> <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/10/12/blackberry-outage-spreads-to-canada-continues-in-europe-middle/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">days</a>, but at least they now have <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Spotify/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Spotify</a>. Today, the Swedish startup unveiled a preview version of its music streaming app, available to download from its Previews page. At this point, the app is compatible with the 9780 Bold, 9700 Bold, 9300 Curve, 9000 Bold and 8520 Curve handsets, though the Torch 9800 has been left in the cold. It's also worth noting that the service only supports GSM networks (no CDMA, as of yet) and requires a Premium subscription of $10 per month. No word yet on when Spotify will arrive on App World, or whether it'll add extra support when it does, but early birds can grab their worm at the source link, below.<br />

Despite Q2 revenue of $4.2 billion and a GAAP net income of $329 million, RIM's stock plummeted nine percent following the news. Why? That reality was at the lowest end of estimates, and as we've seen, it takes a blowout quarter to please the folks on Wall Street. Nevertheless, the company's touting a subscriber base that ballooned 40 percent year-over-year (surpassing 70m total), and while it's quick to trumpet the rollout of <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/07/13/rim-aims-to-launch-seven-smartphones-with-blackberry-os-7-in-th/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">seven</a> new smartphones, not a one of them managed to astound the QNX-desiring <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/blackberry,review?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">critics</a>. The report also notes that 10.6 million handsets were moved in the quarter, around $780 million was <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/07/01/rim-apple-sony-microsoft-consortium-snags-nortel-wireless-pat/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">invested</a> as "part of a consortium of companies that successfully bid to acquire intellectual property assets from Nortel," and it's forecasting that BlackBerry smartphone shipments in Q3 will grow between 27 percent and 37 percent compared to Q2. Sadly, the company only "shipped" 200,000 <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/04/13/blackberry-playbook-review/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">PlayBook</a> tablets, with the prevailing thought being that it actually sold far fewer. Moreover, nary a forecast was given for future PlayBook sales.<br /><br />As for thoughts from the head honcho(s)? Jim Balsillie, Co-CEO, stated that "overall unit shipments in the quarter were slightly below our forecast due to lower than expected demand for older models," further noting that his firm will "continue to build on the success of the BlackBerry 7 launch to drive the business as we focus our development efforts on delivering the next generation, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/QNX/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">QNX</a>-based mobile platform next year." Next year is a long, long way away, though, and there's no doubt whatsoever what <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/09/07/eric-schmidt-ice-cream-sandwich-coming-in-october-or-november/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">kind</a> of <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/06/06/apples-ios-5-all-the-details/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">competition</a> will be in place by the time 2012 rolls around. We'll be hopping on the analyst call here in a few, and you can look beyond the break for any notable mentions.

If you haven't yet snagged one of <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/blackberry/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">RIM's</a> two newly refreshed Bold devices, you might want to hold off for the runt of the litter. Originally leaked back in May, the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/07/23/blackberry-bold-9790-bellagio-offers-unsanctioned-tutorial-vide/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Bellagio 9790</a> borrows the bumped-up specs of its recently <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/08/16/blackberry-bold-9930-review/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">unveiled</a> <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/09/01/blackberry-bold-9900-now-available-on-t-mobile-still-late-to-th/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">cousins</a>, while staying true to the slimmed-down form factor of its 9700 predecessor. The leaked shots over at <em>BGR</em> show the diminutive portrait QWERTY next to the 9900, clearly showcasing the former's likely 2.4-inch touchscreen, optical trackpad and 5 megapixel rear-facing camera. We already know this phone's destined to ship with <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Blackberry7/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">BlackBerry 7 OS</a>, but as for the rest of the feature list, expect it to pack 8GB of storage, NFC-capability and a 1.2GHz processor. Of course, rumors being what they are, this could all very well change before the handset's purported end of year launch. Curious to see more? Then hit up the source link below for additional in-the-wild shots.

<br />
As expected, the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/08/16/blackberry-torch-9850-review/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">BlackBerry Torch 9850</a> and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/08/16/blackberry-bold-9930-review/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">BlackBerry Bold 9930</a> went on sale at Sprint yesterday as part of its BlackBerry 7 lineup. Both phones feature 1.2GHz Snapdragon processors and five-megapixel cameras, but the 9850 has a 3.7-inch touch-only display compared to the Bold's 2.8-inch screen and keyboard combination. Purchased online with contracts and after rebates, the 9850 is selling for $150 while the 9930 is going for a cool $200 -- a departure from the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/08/15/sprints-blackberry-bold-9930-and-torch-9850-land-on-august-21st/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">originally announced</a> Bold price tag of $249, with no mention of cash back. For Sprint users, a rebate is clearly better than no rebate -- even if it does require a stamp.

It's been something of a long time coming, this emboldened Bold. We got our <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/02/19/blackberry-dakota-montana-spotted-in-the-wild-sporting-thread/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">first glimpse</a> of the thing in February, spent some <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/06/24/blackberry-bold-9900-preview-video/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">quality time</a> with it back in June, and since then have sat around eagerly awaiting its release. Now, here it is. From a distance, or at a quick glance, it looks little changed from 2008's <a href="http://mobile.engadget.com/2008/11/10/atandt-blackberry-bold-hands-on/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Bold 9000</a>. But get closer, pick it up, and the difference is astonishing.<br />
<br />
RIM has gone to great pains to talk up this device's high-end design, its luxurious stylings, its sophisticated aesthetic. We're far from <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/vertu?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Vertu</a> territory here, but the first time this phone hits your palm you know a lot of people spent a lot of time making it feel just right -- even if it still looks just the same. Of course, it's what's inside that counts, so join us as we find out whether the soft and hard bits beneath the surface can do the business too.<br />

We've already seen Verizon's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/05/02/blackberry-bold-9900-and-9930-bold-touch-official/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">BlackBerry Bold 9930</a> rear its head in a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/07/26/verizons-blackberry-bold-9930-unveiled-early-thanks-to-website/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">leaked</a> video and now, it looks like it's finally gone all official on us. The slim, QWERTY-equipped handset has just popped up on Verizon's site, where users can now order one for $250 on a two-year contract, or $510 sans contract. Its specs, meanwhile, coincide with what we've already heard, including that 2.8-inch, 640&times;480 VGA touchscreen, 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor and .41-inch thickness. The 9930 also comes equipped with <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/05/02/rim-announces-blackberry-os-7/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">BlackBerry 7 OS</a>, bringing voice-activated search and speedy browsing capabilities to the palm of your hand. No word yet on when the phone will arrive in actual stores, though rumor has it that August 25th could be the big day. For more details and ordering information, check out the source link, below.

That's all changed with the lovely screengrab you can peep above apparently from the Rogers point-of-sale system upgrades department. While sadly this little gem doesn't mention dates or pricing for this highly anticipated duo, Rogers has typically been first to market with new BlackBerry goods in Canada -- and we're hopeful that holds true in this case. But if we had to guess at a ballpark figure, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/08/08/blackberry-bold-9900-on-pre-order-at-vodafone-uk-first-official-price/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Vodafone UK</a> priced the Bold 9900 at roughly $650 and has us thinking we might see something in that realm over here. There's no question we'll be following this like the cell-loving sleuths you expect us to be, so please pop back soon for more.</div>

	<a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/08/03/rims-blackberry-torch-9850-goes-official-for-sprint-and-us-cell/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2011/08/sprint-blackberry-7-devices.jpg" style="border-width: 0px; border-style: solid; margin: 4px;" /></a></div>
What's a BlackBerry launch without a bit of love for RIM's CDMA partners? Infinite sadness, that's what. While the outfit (understandably) couldn't showcase the BlackBerry Torch 9850 at its <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/08/03/rim-launches-blackberry-torch-9810-torch-9850-and/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">London launch event</a> this morning, the CDMA sibling to the Torch 9860 is making its official debut in the US of A. Destined for US Cellular and Sprint here in the States, the 9850 (shown right) will ship with a 3.7-inch WVGA (800 x 480) touchpanel, BlackBerry 7 OS, a "waterfall" screen design that tickles the edges ever-so-slightly, and not one inkling of a physical keyboard. As with the 9860 -- which is destined for AT&amp;T, Rogers, Telus and Bell -- you'll get a five megapixel "zero-shutter lag" camera, 720p movie mode, inbuilt GPS and a 1.2GHz processor. There's no mention yet of a price or release for the SIM-less duo, but you can bet that we'll keep you posted as we hear more.<br />
<br />
<strong>Update</strong>: Sprint's just pushed out a full presser of its own (embedded after the break), which also confirms that the Bold 9930 -- shown above on the left -- will also be making its way onto The Now Network. We're told to expect "fall" availability for both BB 7 OS phones, but specific pricing isn't expected until that already-ambiguous time frame draws nearer. As for the 9930, it's boasting an all-too-familiar design, with a 10.5mm-thick chassis, 2.8-inch capacitive touchpanel, the "widest QWERTY keyboard available on a BlackBerry smartphone" and a trackpad to boot. Moreover, NFC support is thrown in, as is a magnetometer for AR apps.<br />
<br />
<strong>Update 2</strong>: A trusted source just informed us that the Torch 9850 will soon go for $199 on contract (and after rebate) at US Cellular, or $549 with no strings attached.

Here they are folks. Months after we first got our hands on pre-release Torch and Bold Touch handsets, RIM is <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/08/03/atandt-to-launch-blackberry-torch-9810-this-month-torch-9860-and/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">finally ready to show off its latest hardware</a>. They're all powered by a 1.2GHz processor, have 768MB of onboard RAM and -- most importantly -- run the latest operating system BB OS7.<br />
<br />
RIM claims its new OS is 40 percent faster at browsing compared to OS6-based smartphones, and 100 percent faster than OS5 handsets. It also supports RIM's Liquid Graphics technology, which uses a dedicated graphics processor for smoother scrolling, zooming and panning.<br />
<br />
Hands-on impressions and video follow after the break.<br />

<a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Research+In+Motion/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Research in Motion</a> has had better <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/06/16/rim-announces-q1-earnings-says-its-shipped-500-000-playbooks/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">days</a> -- and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/03/24/rim-earnings-show-strong-revenue-and-growth-but-weak-guidance-f/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">years</a>, for that matter -- but it's always had a loyal partner in AT&amp;T, a company that's cranked out BlackBerry products faithfully for the past twelve years. The tradition continues, as the GSM giant has announced its intentions to bring the 4G <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/08/03/rims-blackberry-torch-9810-emerges-on-atandts-website-touts-4g/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">BlackBerry Torch 9810</a> (aka <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/06/03/blackberry-torch-2-preview/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">the Torch 2</a>) to stores sometime this month, followed by the <a href="http://mobile.engadget.com/2011/07/25/blackberry-monza-9860-photos-emerge-ready-to-take-the-world-by/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">4G BlackBerry Torch 9860</a> and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/06/24/blackberry-bold-9900-preview-video/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">4G Bold 9900</a> "later this year." No specific dates or prices were given on any of the devices.<br />
<br />
The Torch 9810 comes with a 1.2GHz CPU, 3.2-inch touch display, a total of 8GB internal memory (with microSD expansion up to 32GB), and a 5 megapixel camera with 720p HD video capture. Oh, and about the "4G" in the title? An AT&amp;T spokesperson confirmed to us that the moniker is simply referring to <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/hspa++/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">HSPA+</a>, capping at 14.4Mbps. It's definitely a step up from the original <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/08/04/blackberry-torch-review/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Torch 9800</a>, at least, but our appetite for 4G of the LTE variety runs deep. Will this be too little too late for the Canadian manufacturer, or can this year's fall lineup be enough to keep the company healthy until QNX rolls into town?<br />
<br />
[Thanks, Gary]

	Well BlackBerry fans, yet another <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/blackberry+bold/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">variation of the Bold</a> is now making the rounds on the internet: it's the 9790, otherwise known as the Bellagio. Although the device was first leaked in late May -- where we learned it would feature <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/05/02/rim-announces-blackberry-os-7/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">BlackBerry 7 OS</a>, 8GB of internal memory, a touchscreen, and NFC -- RIM's latest QWERTY companion has remained below the radar ever since. Now, it's reappeared in some official tutorials, which reveal a <a href="http://mobile.engadget.com/2011/05/26/blackberry-curve-apollo-gets-featured-in-tutorial-clips-bb-7/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">familiar user interface</a>. Also, two other videos offer views of the handset's exterior profile and a quick peek beneath the battery cover. Why are Lazaridis and Balsillie prepping this for sale when the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/06/24/blackberry-bold-9900-preview-video/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Bold 9900</a> has yet to reach consumers? All we need is one, and the similar hardware and specs aren't building a compelling argument. Sure, RIM said it would be releasing <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/07/13/rim-aims-to-launch-seven-smartphones-with-blackberry-os-7-in-th/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">seven upcoming smartphones</a> in the coming months, but haven't its leaders learned that less is more? Follow the source for an extended peek at the redundancy.</div>

RIM's <a href="http://engadget.com/tag/9900?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">BlackBerry 9900</a> is the device that the BlackBerry diehards have been hoping, wishing, and waiting for since the original Bold launched way back <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/10/22/its-official-blackberry-bold-hits-atandt-on-november-4/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">in 2008</a>. However, this time around the company has added in a capacitive touchscreen, swapped the trackball of yesteryear for an optical trackpad, and slimmed the whole thing down into a 10.5mm thick package. We were lucky enough to get a prototype device from our friends over at <a href="http://negrielectronics.com/">Negri Electronics</a>, and have manhandled the thing till we were blue in the face. Head on past the break for an exclusive preview of the device RIM is praying will stalwart its competitors until the first round of QNX-equipped devices lands in 2012.<br />

AT&amp;T's Bold 9700 owners undoubtedly cringed with jealousy as T-Mobile <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/04/07/blackberry-6-os-finally-available-for-bold-9700-on-t-mobile/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">announced</a> BlackBerry OS 6 for the 9700, though less than a month later, Ma Bell is making amends with an OS 6 release of its own. Yes, the long wait is over, and rather than <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/09/28/blackberry-6-shows-up-on-bold-9700-pearl-3g-and-we-check-it/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">watching us</a> play with RIM's creation (as you have for months), just hit the source link for some download action to call your own.

We've seen it <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/04/07/blackberry-bold-touch-prototype-photographed-leaves-a-good-impr/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">photographed</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/04/04/blackberry-bold-touch-previewed-in-leaked-tutorials-prepare-to/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">videotaped</a>, and even, briefly, up on <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/04/29/blackberry-bold-touch-makes-brief-appearance-on-rims-website/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">RIM's own website</a>. Now it's up there to stay, the BlackBerry Bold 9900 and 9930 (aka the Bold Touch) have been made official as RIM kicks off BlackBerry World in Orlando. As <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/04/08/full-specs-leak-for-blackberry-torch-2-1-2ghz-snapdragon-cant/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">expected</a>, the phone packs a 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor that has only a 2.8-inch VGA touchscreen with a 287dpi pixel density to worry about. On the back is a five megapixel camera and inside is 8GB of internal storage (with microSD expansion) and NFC circuitry. At 10.5mm it's RIM's thinnest handset yet, featuring a stainless steel circumference and a fiberglass back, while up front of course it makes room for a full QWERTY keyboard. The 9900 supports HSPA+ connectivity to get its 4G on, while the 9930 is the world variant, adding dual-band CDMA and quad-band GSM to the mix, and both do 802.11a/b/g/n along with Bluetooth 2.1. Both, quite naturally, include the new <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/05/02/rim-announces-blackberry-os-7/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">BlackBerry 7 OS</a>, including a faster browser and voice-activated search. Another picture and full specs are listed after the break, which will have to do you until this handset releases sometime in the summer, meaning this could be your next great beach accessory for those <em>working</em> vacations.<br />
<br />
<strong>Update</strong>: Full press release and more images after the break.

Have the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/04/08/full-specs-leak-for-blackberry-torch-2-1-2ghz-snapdragon-cant/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">leaked specs</a> and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/04/04/blackberry-bold-touch-previewed-in-leaked-tutorials-prepare-to/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">tutorial video</a> got you yearning for more BlackBerry Bold Touch coverage? Well, today's your lucky day, RIM-o-philes, because we've got new some moving pictures with real, live human fingers doing the touchscreen two-step on the diminutive display of a next-gen Bold 9930 (codename Montana). Though a small sample, the footage does confirm <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/04/07/blackberry-bold-touch-prototype-photographed-leaves-a-good-impr/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">earlier reports</a> that the screen is quite responsive, so it shouldn't have trouble making capacitive converts out of those in the optical trackpad troop. We know, BlackBerry World and the new Bold's debut can't come soon enough, so do some self-soothing, view the new vid, and breathe -- you'll have <em>your</em> hands on one before you know it.

<div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/04/08/full-specs-leak-for-blackberry-torch-2-1-2ghz-snapdragon-cant/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img hspace="4" border="0" vspace="4" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2011/04/dakota-specs.jpg" alt="" /></a></div>
We understand that it's hard to <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/12/15/editorial-rim-seems-to-be-as-lost-as-my-blackberry/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">take two steps</a> rather than one, but a solid list of specifications isn't going to make the BlackBerry Bold Touch (<a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/01/13/blackberry-dakota-photo-specifications-leak/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Dakota</a>) look any less <i>last-decade</i>. For whatever reason, RIM's design department seems to be stuck in an era where last-generation is the new next-generation, while it's internals team has seemingly managed to escape. For those who couldn't disagree more regarding the exterior, you'll likely be elated to know that the impending handset will boast a blisteringly fast 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor, 8GB of internal storage, 768MB of RAM, a microSD expansion slot, 5 megapixel camera and a 35-key backlit keyboard. You'll also get a microscopic 2.8-inch LCD with a woeful 640 x 480 resolution, Bluetooth 2.1, a 3.5mm headphone jack, A-GPS, dual-band 802.11b/g/n WiFi and a 720p movie mode. So, one down, one to go -- <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/12/15/editorial-rim-seems-to-be-as-lost-as-my-blackberry/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">time for a reread</a>, is it RIM?<br />
<br />
<strong>Update</strong>: Seems as if the faucet's still flowing, with a <a href="http://crackberry.com/blackberry-touch-monza-full-spec-sheet-leaked">full specs list</a> popping up for the BlackBerry Torch 9860 (Monza) as well!<br />
<br />
[Thanks, bighap]
