9 Crimes might be a favorite song around these parts. Moody, dark, introspective, and perfect for humming over a stiff drink, you really can't fault the lyrics or strummy sound. So a while back, Brunhila grabbed it and created the parody 9 Times. The original song is a hard act to follow, especially when you're trying to turn it over into a tongue-in-cheek WoW parody. Brunhila performs admirably, though I'm not sure 9 Times leaves me fully satisfied. Still, I'll take it over a random blood elf rap every day of the week and 9 times on Sunday. I think if there were a Brunhila Fan Club, I'd be the president. I love her voice, and I always look forward to whatever she does next. Deathwing's Days Are Over is no exception to my rampant fandom. The song is not only a tribute to Dragon Soul but also to Brunhila's guild, Crucial. Of course, tackling Florence and the Machine in a cover video is pretty ambitious, but I think Brunhila did a pretty good job of it. All in all, this is a really nice way to send off Cataclysm and prepare us all for our inevitable transition into pandas. Interested in the wide world of machinima? It's definitely felt like a mad world around Azeroth for the last few months. Not only are we all busy jumping on Deathwing's back, fighting for the future of the world, but half our compatriots are visiting another universe as Jedi and Sith. Things have just felt odd. The Pandaclysm is coming soon, when a third of our population will become monks. It's like the world is holding its breath, waiting for something. Thinking about how it's become a mad world immediately leads me to Brunhila's Mad World of Warcraft. The song is a year or so old, but it remains one of my favorite pieces. Especially with the gear acceleration necessary at the end of an expansion, her lyrics ring especially true when we're all firing up and leveling alts. It's a great song, and it's standing the test of time. If you haven't heard it, you're missing out. Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! Today's video is a treat from Greyfoo and Brunhila. While hosting an all-leather rogue show, the intrepid duo opts to seek out the meaning of life and the inevitable allure of druids. Specifically, they address the mystery of the Moonglade Beat. Greyfoo created the machinima, and Brunhila provided additional vocals. As we've come to expect from Greyfoo, this video offers some incredible, gorgeous visuals. The song is smart and fun with a subtle, catchy beat. It's always exciting to see new material from him. Brunhila is a favorite of ours, also, and I'm particularly happy to see her collaborating with Greyfoo. It seems like a great match. Kick back, relax, and enjoy a hippy-trippy time with Moonglade Beat. Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! Work Warning: References sexual themes, though not really in a suggestive way. It's about people being suggestive. Brunhila is still relatively new to the machinima scene; we featured her first video, Mad World of Warcraft Cataclysm, in January. She's back with another song, MMO Lolita. This is a WoW-themed parody of Madonna's La Isla Bonita, though it sounds like the entire arrangement was recreated by Brunhila. I really, really love Brunhila's work. Her sense of humor feels insightful and intelligent, and her works tend to reference the universal experiences in WoW we all encounter. Obviously, she's got some great musical skill; I love the way she arranges the parody, and her vocal performances knock it out of the park. Interested in the wide world of machinima? You might remember Brunhila from the amazing Mad World of Warcraft. That video was received incredibly well because of its fun and humor, along with Brunhila's amazing voice. She's now following up with the newly released My Mortality. This is the lament of an Alliance member seeking to visit a Horde city in order to check out the sights. If you've ever been in that position yourself, you know what happens: Half the Horde faction logs in to kill you. Brunhila's done a great job of summarizing that experience. And the last few seconds are especially appropriate. Poor Silvermoon. Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! Mad World has always been one of my favorite songs. It has a haunting, melancholy sound that appeals to me; the lyrics are poetic and beautifully written. It's understandable, then, that I was excited to see Brunhila's WoW-themed version, Mad World of Warcraft Cataclysm. The video is okay. It's Brunhila's first video, and it does a fine job serving the song. The music is really where Mad World of Cataclysm shines. She did a great job of keeping with the rhyme, meter, and feel of the original song. Her performance, however, is amazing. Brunhila really nailed the vocals in a way I wasn't expecting; I feel like she knocked it out of the park. I kind of wish she'd cover the original song, considering how much emotion she squeezes into the song. Interested in the wide world of machinima?
