Somehow, in the midst of the mayhem that was <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/CES/">CES</a>, we managed to gloss over a pair of swank HTIB systems from Panasonic. Sure, the DVD-based <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/08/panasonic-intros-a-pair-of-new-dvd-theater-in-a-box-solutions/">SC-PT770 and SC-PT670</a> units are all fine and dandy, but it's the Blu-ray-packin' SC-BT200 and SC-BT300 that really have our attention. Each bundle includes a 7.1-channel audio system with "wireless ready" rear speakers, an integrated iPod dock and a BD deck with the ability to connect to the internet and suck down BD-Live content. The only notable difference between the two sets seems to be the overall power ratings, with the BT300 cranking out 1,250 watts and the BT200 doling out "just" 1,000 watts. Both packages should be available this Spring for undisclosed prices.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/blu-ray/" rel="tag">Blu-ray</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/speakers/" rel="tag">Speakers</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/28/panasonic-offers-up-sc-bt200-and-sc-bt300-7-1-blu-ray-htib-syste/">Panasonic offers up SC-BT200 and SC-BT300 7.1 Blu-ray HTIB systems</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 28 Jan 2009 06:38:00 EST. Emo Labs didn't stir up too much commotion while CES was going on, but apparently it did have a tiny presence in Vegas. The crew at <em>Technologizer</em> was able to listen to a sneak preview of the startup's Edge Motion technology, and if the demo is indicative of the end result, we could be onto something special. Much like NXT's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2005/03/25/nxt-soundvu-display-based-speakers-reviewed/">SoundVu tech</a> that seemed to fizzle out about as quickly as it hit the scene in 2005, this system creates a so-called invisible speaker by "using arrays of motors to wiggle the edges of a clear membrane." Gurus at the company are hoping to have it integrated into panels of TVs by the end of this year, though it'll be a bit longer before the same can happen on space-constrained laptops.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/homeentertainment/" rel="tag">Home Entertainment</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/27/emo-labs-concocts-its-own-invisible-speaker-technology/">Emo Labs concocts its own invisible speaker technology</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 27 Jan 2009 02:43:00 EST. Look, we fully understand how easy it is to forget all about last week after a hard fought weekend, so we're just letting you know that there's around 24 hours left to cast your name into the hat. If you've been <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/09/08/plastic-logic-finally-ready-to-launch-flexible-e-newspaper-re/">waiting</a> (and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/10/24/plastic-logic-bumps-their-flexible-e-ink-display-to-150ppi/">waiting</a>) for <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/plastic%20logic">Plastic Logic</a>'s ultra-durable e-reader, you'll have to stick with recycled paper for another dozen months or so. According to a company representative at the outfit's CES kiosk, the device is now scheduled for an "early 2010" release, and as expected, final pricing has yet to be determined. Though, Mr. Joe (seriously, that's his first name) did admit that it would be "competitively priced for rapid adoption" and that the company would be pushing hard to get this into corporations / enterprises. Don't believe us? <div align="left">Sure, when we first caught wind of Garmin's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/07/garmins-new-nuvi-885t-z-mo-660-and-g5-gps-units-for-drivers-b/">n&uuml;vi 885T</a> a while back it seemed like the hotness (if your measure of hotness begins and ends with a GPS), but how does it really stack up? GPS Magazine just got their hands on one of these bad boys, and they've been kind enough to share their thoughts with us. "Great," they say, "if speech recognition is your number one priority." Besides voice recognition, the reviewer was really into the Enhanced MSN Direct (traffic, fuel prices, flight statues and more), the ever-useful Where Am I? feature, MP3 playlist support, lane assist, and well behaved Bluetooth. Problems? For starters, MSN Direct for this model costs $50/year (or $130 for life), while many cheaper n&uuml;vis get it gratis. Additionally, a few oversights -- there is no way to exclude a specific road from a route, for instance, and a very limited detour function -- and this reviewer thinks that some users would be better served by another Garmin, such as the n&uuml;vi 7x5. But don't take our word for it -- for the exhaustive review hit the read link.<br /><br /><strong>Update:</strong> Then again, maybe it is too much to ask for users to get free, unlimited MSN Direct. According to Garmin tech. support: "No Garmin unit receives MSN information gratis. Some do have a free trial period, but Microsoft does not give the information out for free." Thanks for the heads up, guys!</div>

We've got to say -- we agree with the "retailers" here. According to a new report on <em>VideoBusiness</em>, the Blu-ray players unveiled at CES 2009 are being smiled upon by those that'll have to move 'em. Panasonic's Profile 2.0 <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/08/panasonic-makes-it-official-profile-2-0-dmp-b15-portable-blu-ra/">DMP-B15</a> portable Blu-ray player was seen as one of the more attractive units, with airport-based InMotion Entertainment deciding that it would carry this very unit as its first BD deck in order to appeal to travelers. As expected, reactions were somewhat mixed on Panny's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/08/panasonic-gets-official-with-dmp-bd60-dmp-bd80-and-dmp-bd70v-bl/">DMP-BD70V</a> VHS / Blu-ray player, though it is anticipated that a small niche of consumers will eat it up. All in all, the entire '09 lineup was seen as a nice step forward from decks we've seen in the past -- our only question is do you agree? Which BD unit from the show had you most interested?<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/blu-ray/" rel="tag">Blu-ray</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/players/" rel="tag">Players</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/panasonic/" rel="tag">Panasonic</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/22/retailers-give-thumbs-up-to-newest-line-of-blu-ray-decks/">Retailers give thumbs-up to newest line of Blu-ray decks</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 22 Jan 2009 08:08:00 EST. When we <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/09/23/general-electric-partners-with-tatung-for-premium-ge-branded-h/">heard last September</a> that General Electric was aiming to enter the "premium" HDTV market, we all had a brief laugh and continued on about our day. Apparently, our doubts are completely unfounded. According to an interview with numerous GE executives tied in with the initiative, the GE-branded sets will be serious contenders. In fact, bigwigs are hoping to make their sets "a top-tier brand that rivals the likes of Sony, Samsung, and Sharp." The secret sauce is the differentiation, as GE is looking to stuff internet connectivity, wireless audio and many other "advanced features" onto its sets in order to show up rivals. Among the early prototypes shown at CES earlier this month was a 46-inch HDTV with a GLT edgelight that utilized white Luminus LEDs and GLT's lightguide blades. It's also looking to expand into wireless video boxes with 1080i support, which means the sky really could be the limit here. Obviously, we're keeping our skeptic hats on until a commercial device hits the market, but you can definitely color us intrigued.<br /><br />[Image courtesy of <a href="http://www.decoradios.com/tvs/810d.JPG">DecoRadios</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/displays/" rel="tag">Displays</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/others/" rel="tag">Others</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/21/ge-lets-loose-premium-details-about-premium-hdtv-line/">GE lets loose premium details about premium HDTV line</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 21 Jan 2009 23:59:00 EST. <div align="left">If the "reliable source" that spoke to <em>Digitimes</em> is, well, <em>reliable</em>, it looks like <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Foxconn/">Foxconn</a> has landed the Dell <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Adamo/">Adamo</a> gig. According to the article, the sleek and stylish device is in sample production as we speak, but won't enter volume production until the second half of 2009 -- to the tune of about 400,000 units. Of course, this flies in the face of Dell's statement at <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/09/live-from-dells-adamo-press-event/">the CES unveil</a>, where a company spokesperson said that the thing would be out in the first half of this year -- and that's not the only contradiction here, as Foxconn's Edmund Ding has stated that "he has no idea what the hell anybody is talking about." (OK, so we paraphrased that last bit).<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.electronista.com/articles/09/01/21/dell.adamo.foxconn.rumor/">Electronista</a>]<br /></div>

<a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/CES2009/">CES 2009</a> may be over and done with, but we'll be feeling the ramifications of it for months to come. For those not watching for every last announcement from the show, you may be surprised to find that dozens upon dozens of new <a href="http://www.engadgethd.com/tag/hdtv">HDTVs</a> were introduced, with many of them slated to start shipping this Spring / Summer. Engadget HD has hosted up a thorough mega-guide to showcase what sets made their debut in Vegas this month, complete with links to more information as well as release windows and pricing where available. If you're even remotely considering a new set this year, you owe it to yourself to give this one a look. <a href="http://www.engadgethd.com/2009/01/20/the-hdtvs-of-ces-2009/">Head on over,</a> won't you?<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/ces/" rel="tag">CES</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/displays/" rel="tag">Displays</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hdtv/" rel="tag">HDTV</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/homeentertainment/" rel="tag">Home Entertainment</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/20/ces-2009-hdtv-mega-guide/">CES 2009 HDTV mega-guide</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 20 Jan 2009 14:00:00 EST. In an effort to make sure you aren't duped into thinking that set you're about to buy is actually a CES '09-announced set, we've laid out the entire line of newcomers (ones that'll actually see store shelves -- we avoided the concepts to save you some grief) just past the break, complete with scheduled release dates and prices where applicable. Nah, you won't find any big screen <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/oled/">OLEDs</a> in there (maybe next year, kids), but there's plenty of Hz, pixels and inches to go around.<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/20/the-hdtvs-of-ces-2009/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The HDTVs of CES 2009</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/industry/" rel="tag">Industry</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/displays/" rel="tag">Displays</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/jvc/" rel="tag">JVC</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/lg/" rel="tag">LG</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/others/" rel="tag">Others</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/panasonic/" rel="tag">Panasonic</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/samsung/" rel="tag">Samsung</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/sharp/" rel="tag">Sharp</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/sony/" rel="tag">Sony</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/toshiba/" rel="tag">Toshiba</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/westinghouse/" rel="tag">Westinghouse</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/20/the-hdtvs-of-ces-2009/">The HDTVs of CES 2009</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 20 Jan 2009 14:00:00 EST. CES may be fading into memory, but the bags of swag we somehow magnetized at the show are still quite present in our lives. Want a little piece of the proceedings to be delivered to your doorstep? Well here's your chance. Every year we get bombarded with various pieces of gear that we can't really hang on to for moral, ethical, and religious reasons. But while our Herculean ability to resist free junk is notable, we don't just let this sweet honeywine go to waste... we send it out to you, our lovable readers. Just follow the instructions below, and win one of the three (3) satchels of joy we have to give. Good luck!<br /><br /><strong>Note:</strong> Three separate winners will be chosen from comments. Just think of how good your odds are!<br /><br />The rules:<br />
<ul>
    <li><strong>Leave a comment below.</strong> Any comment will do, but shameless flattery or embarrassing childhood memories are cool too.<br /></li>
    <li><strong>You may only enter this specific giveaway once.</strong> If you enter this giveaway more than once you'll be automatically disqualified, etc. (Yes, we have robots that thoroughly check to ensure fairness.)</li>
    <li><strong>If you enter more than once, only activate one comment.</strong> This is pretty self explanatory. Just be careful and you'll be fine.<strong><br /></strong></li>
    <li><strong>Contest is open to anyone in the 50 States, 18 or older! </strong>Sorry, we don't make this rule (we hate excluding <em>anyone</em>), so be mad at our lawyers and contest laws if you have to be mad.<br /></li>
    <li><strong>Winner will be chosen randomly.</strong> The winners will receive one (1) of three (3) bags filled with totally awesome CES swag. Approximate value is incalculable.<br /></li>
    <li><strong>Entries can be submitted until Monday, January 26th, 11:59PM ET. </strong>Good luck!</li>
    <li><a href="http://www.engadget.com/official-giveaways-rules/">Full rules can be found here.</a></li>

From smallest to largest, we've got the 15.4-inch TFTV1524, which offers a 1,280 x 800 native resolution, dual ATSC / NTSC tuners, an HDMI port, VGA socket and a set of stereo speakers. Next up is the TFTV1923, a 19-incher with a 1,440 x 900 resolution and pretty much everything else remaining similar. Finally, the 22-inch TFTV2224 ups the resolution to 1,680 x 1,050 but doesn't add anything else. There's no mention of pricing / availability, but we'd guess they'll be available soon for not-so-much.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/displays/" rel="tag">Displays</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/others/" rel="tag">Others</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/lcd/" rel="tag">LCD</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/19/coby-outs-trio-of-lcd-hdtvs-perfect-for-your-guest-room/">Coby outs trio of LCD HDTVs, perfect for your guest room</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 19 Jan 2009 17:35:00 EST. In addition to routing one of the six HDMI sources to the output, the $3000 box will separate out the audio signal (up to 8 channels) on a single RJ45 connection in the Meridian Multichannel High Resolution or four RCA jacks, each carrying two channels of Meridian High Resolution data. It's all nice and proprietary, but c'mon -- did you expect anything else from a company that has never shied away from creating its own standards? Needless to say, only those interested in an all-Meridian system need apply.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/other-hardware/" rel="tag">Other hardware</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/switches/" rel="tag">Switches</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/others/" rel="tag">Others</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/18/meridians-hd621-hdmi-audio-processor-breaks-out-the-audio-but/">Meridian's HD621 HDMI Audio Processor breaks out the audio, but keeps it in-house</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sun, 18 Jan 2009 13:32:00 EST. Don't let the analog meters and Olde English lettering fool you, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/McIntosh/">McIntosh</a> gear is keeping up with the times while staying upscale. While not always the first out of the gate with the latest features, the ultra-high end brand of D&amp;M Holdings has shown a commitment to keeping its customers' equipment racks glowing that familiar blue and green. Unveiled at CES this year was the MX 150 A/V Control Center, with five HDMI 1.3 inputs, support for the Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD MA codecs (naturally), RoomPerfect auto-equalization, support for multiple subwoofers and video upscaling (unspecified, but the D&amp;M line has some <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/12/denons-avr-5308ci-receiver-reviewed-price-and-value-high/">good</a> <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/06/13/marantz-releases-av8003-processor-and-mm8003-amplifier-separates/">choices</a> to borrow from). Set for release in March for a price around $12000, we won't blame you if you decide to wait for a McIntosh Blu-ray deck before jumping in.<br /><br />[<a href="http://www.hometoys.com/news_detail.php?id=18710959">Read</a> - press release]<br /> [<a href="http://blog.ultimateavmag.com/ces2009/mcintosh_shows_mx-150_av_controller/">Read</a> - pricing info]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/other-hardware/" rel="tag">Other hardware</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/others/" rel="tag">Others</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/17/mcintosh-intros-blu-ray-ready-mx150-av-controller/">McIntosh intros Blu-ray ready MX150 AV Controller</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sat, 17 Jan 2009 15:50:00 EST. <div align="left">Man, it just isn't fair -- we keep seeing all these kick-ass new <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/vendingmachine">vending machines</a>, but when we want a can of Mr. Pibb or RC Cola we're stuck feeding quarters into something that looks like it was last serviced whenever <em>Pac-Man Fever</em> went storming up the charts. Then again, that's probably what we get for spending all our time in pool halls and bowling alleys. If you're lucky enough to head to one of the 190-plus (and growing!) malls owned by the Simon Property Group sometime in the not too distant future, you just might have the pleasure of getting your cold, satisfying beverage from one of the new-fashioned touch screen Coke machines from Sapient. The screen is pretty much the entire front of the machine, and the interface is simple (as you'd expect), but pretty cool nonetheless -- select your pop bottle, spin it around, take a look at the ingredients, and vend -- quasi-<em>Minority Report</em>-style. "Futuretistic," no? This thing takes cash and plastic, and it should be out in the US soon enough -- readers in Europe and the UK will have to wait until sometime in 2010 to get in on the action. Video after the break.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/touchscreen-coke-machine/">Touchscreen Coke Machine</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/touchscreen-coke-machine/#1297429"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/090116-cokegallery-01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/touchscreen-coke-machine/#1297431"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/090116-cokegallery-02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/touchscreen-coke-machine/#1297430"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/090116-cokegallery-03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><br />[Thanks, Trent]</div>

In an effort to shrink the amount of components within a BD deck and to offer up "significant cost savings and a simplified programming model," it has recently demonstrated DTS-HD Master Audio Lossless decoding on a single-core SoC. The outfit's HiFi 2 Audio DSP can handle codecs from both DTS and Dolby, and apparently it's already filtering into select players. Too bad you'll probably never know if your deck has one without rolling up your sleeves and breaking out the screwdriver.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/blu-ray/" rel="tag">Blu-ray</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/other-hardware/" rel="tag">Other hardware</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/players/" rel="tag">Players</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/15/tensilica-proves-blu-ray-audio-decoding-can-be-done-on-a-single/">Tensilica proves Blu-ray audio decoding can be done on a single core</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 15 Jan 2009 17:26:00 EST. While <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/powerline/">powerline</a> as a whole still has quite a ways to go before it's considered mainstream, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/12/19/ds2-already-concoting-a-g-hn-compatible-chipset/">DS2</a> is apparently hoping to bring it a touch closed by embedding it in places we'd least expect. At CES last week, the company was spotted showing off an embedded PLC module which gave powerline capabilities to whatever item it was integrated into. Now, let's see DS2 convince router companies and the like to follow suit.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/misc/" rel="tag">Misc</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/media-streamers/" rel="tag">Media streamers</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/other-formats/" rel="tag">Other formats</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/other-hardware/" rel="tag">Other hardware</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/15/ds2-shows-off-embedded-powerline-module/">DS2 shows off embedded powerline module</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 15 Jan 2009 09:52:00 EST. There ain't much new here outside of marketing hoopla, but for those who missed Seagate's announcement <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/05/19/seagate-reveals-showcase-external-hdd-for-media-centers-and-dvr/">early last year</a>, we've got a revised one ready for publishing this year. The Showcase external HDD line has now been certified for compatibility with the Solo ViP 612 receiver, ViP 622 / 722 DuoDVR and the ViP 211 / 211k receivers. In essence, this here hard drive <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/11/20/vip211-dvr-upgrade-now-available-on-dish-network/">converts the receivers</a> in the bunch into full-fledged DVRs, giving you one less reason to spend haphazardly on a new set-top-box. <p>In all the announcements at <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/CES/">CES</a> we somehow managed to miss these new Blu-ray products from <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/12/23/funai-to-acquire-philips-north-american-dvd-operations/"><strike>Funai</strike> </a>Philips. The three new players consist of two that can do BD Live and the entry level BDP-3010 which is still profile 1.1. Both the BDP-5010 and the BDP-7310 have an SD slot for BD Live, but the higher model includes a 1GB SD card. The 7310 will also include support for more audio codecs as well as AVCHD and DivX. Both the 3010 and 5010 will be available in April for $229 and $249, while the 7310 is expected in May for $299. </p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/blu-ray/" rel="tag">Blu-ray</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/14/philips-revamps-blu-ray-lineup-with-three-new-players/">Philips revamps Blu-ray lineup with three new players</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 14 Jan 2009 11:33:00 EST. <div align="left">This is it! We just received video of the only pico projector endorsed by Russell Crowe (if by "endorsed" you mean "absolutely not endorsed," and by "Russell Crowe" you mean "<a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/11/10/aiptek-pocket-cinema-v10-available-for-pre-order-on-amazon/">the poor target of our Photoshoppery</a>"). For a handheld VGA projector, the thing seems to handle itself pretty well. It's small and simple to use, but then again it doesn't really seem all that bright (something you might notice if you ever need it to, we don't know, "project" something). This bad boy has 1GB internal memory, an SD slot, and miniUSB, which should handle most of your I/O needs. Be sure to check out the explosive videos -- generously provided by <a href="http://translate.google.com/translate?prev=&amp;hl=en&amp;ie=UTF-8&amp;u=http%3A%2F%2Fes.engadget.com%2F2009%2F01%2F12%2Faiptek-pocketcinema-v10-en-video-ces-2009%2F&amp;sl=es&amp;tl=en&amp;history_state0=">Engadget Spanish</a> -- after the break.<br /></div>

<div align="left">HelloMoto indeed, we came expecting that we'd likely have to give Motorola a pass, but were kinda chuffed to actually love what they've got going on. We were absolutely wowed by the stainless and svelte <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Aura/">Aura</a>, and just <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/11/video-motorola-aura-in-action/">couldn't keep</a> our <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/10/motorola-aura-hands-on/">hands-off it</a>. Also on hand were the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/08/motorola-surf-a3100-video-and-pictorial-hands-on/">SURF A3100</a> and the green-and-made-from-recycled-stuff <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/09/motorola-w233-renew-hands-on/">W233 Renew</a>, with the A3100 being the cooler of those two offerings. A decent showing from a company that really needs it right now, here's hoping we catch more from them at Mobile World Congress next month.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/motorolas-ces-2009-booth-tour/">Motorola's CES 2009 booth tour</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/motorolas-ces-2009-booth-tour/#1290683"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadgetmobile.com/media/2009/01/booth_moto20000_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/motorolas-ces-2009-booth-tour/#1290684"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadgetmobile.com/media/2009/01/booth_moto20001_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/motorolas-ces-2009-booth-tour/#1290691"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadgetmobile.com/media/2009/01/booth_moto20003_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/motorolas-ces-2009-booth-tour/#1290692"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadgetmobile.com/media/2009/01/booth_moto20005_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/motorolas-ces-2009-booth-tour/#1290687"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadgetmobile.com/media/2009/01/booth_moto20006_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /> </div>

Looks like Sony Insider caught some footage of those <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/12/sonys-flexible-oled-mockups/">flexible OLED Walkmans</a> in action during a CES promo video hidden away in the booth. Looks like a pretty sweet riff on the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/13/sonys-nwz-1000-walkman-pmp-handled-on-video/">Cover Flow-esque interface</a> that's due to arrive on the <a href="http://engadget.com/tag/nwz-x1000">NWZ-X1000</a>, but there's not much else to go on -- let's hope Sony's spending more time getting the X1000 ready to leave that <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/10/sony-oled-walkman-nwz-x1000-eyes-on/">impenetrable glass housing</a> than it is mocking up videos of fantasy tech. Never before have we seen so many manufacturers adopt the same technology, and now that we've had a chance to play, we understand why. For the first time ever we've experienced interactive internet TV in a way that is actually useful. Sure you could get the weather or a stock quote on your TiVo for years, but it's always been like six clicks away. And now since everyone decided to use Yahoo's widgets, no matter what kind of TV you have, you'll have the same access to the same great widgets. And best of all they'll be available at the touch of a button. So if you aren't sold on the idea yet, spend a few minutes watching and then tell us it isn't cool.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/displays/" rel="tag">Displays</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/13/video-yahoos-new-widgets-in-action/">Video: Yahoo's new widgets in action</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 13 Jan 2009 20:48:00 EST. We'll be honest: apart from the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/11/ces-2009-north-hall-tour-like-hot-import-nights-minus-the-tire/">ridiculous custom cars</a> and the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/s7">Viliv S7</a>, we pretty much avoided the car audio-oriented North Hall at CES this year -- which means we sadly didn't get any facetime with Blaupunkt's miRoamer-powered TravelPilot New Jersey 600i internet car stereo. (Apparently double-DIN is big in the Jerz.) The prototype head unit connects to a cellphone over Bluetooth to access the internet, and uses the miRoamer service to stream "tens of thousands" of stations on the service -- which the company estimates will consume about 2GB of data a month, so you'd better hope your data plan doesn't cap you off or charge you for overages. The radio is expected to arrive in the second half of the year for $399, which isn't bad, but doesn't do much good for the squares like us who never swap out their car stereos -- which is probably why miRoamer is targeting 2010 for placement in OEM head units. One more pic of the single-DIN sized "Hamburg" model after the break.<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/13/blaupunkt-shows-off-miroamer-powered-internet-car-radios/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Blaupunkt shows off miRoamer-powered internet car radios</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/transportation/" rel="tag">Transportation</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/13/blaupunkt-shows-off-miroamer-powered-internet-car-radios/">Blaupunkt shows off miRoamer-powered internet car radios</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 13 Jan 2009 16:32:00 EST. We swung by D-Link's booth at CES to check out its upcoming <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/sidestage/">SideStage</a> USB-powered monitor, hoping to see the thing in action and get some more details ahead of its release. What we found was quite <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/nanovision"><em>familiar</em></a> looking, to say the least. D-Link was disappointingly just demoing a Nanovision, but was quick to point out this would not be the product destined for a full US release sometime this summer. That new display will still be produced by Nanovision, but will be modified to better suit our market, graced with a different logo, and cheaper, too. No firm price yet, but the company is targeting sub-$100, which sounds good to us.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/ces/" rel="tag">CES</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/displays/" rel="tag">Displays</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/13/more-details-on-d-links-upcoming-7-inch-sidestage-usb-monitor/">More details on D-Link's upcoming 7-inch SideStage USB monitor</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 13 Jan 2009 14:34:00 EST. We were really hoping to see some wild Android devices at CES, and while we did see <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/08/nimble-is-mc-hammer-approved-brings-android-to-even-the-most-bo/">one</a> or <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/07/giiniis-movit-mini-wifi-android-tablet-hands-on/">two</a> interesting applications, we sadly missed Compulab's crazy exeda. Ostensibly designed for the enterprise market, the squared-off handheld features a 3.5-inch sun-readable VGA touchscreen, QWERTY keyboard, and a capacitive touchpad that acts as a mouse. Like other recent Asian Android handsets <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/11/28/chinas-qi-i6-supports-android-windows-mobile-lust-in-one-pack/">we've seen</a>, the exeda can also boot Windows Mobile 6.1 on its 520MHz Marvell CPU and 128MB of RAM, and the radio setup is similarly flexible -- resellers can pick from quadband GSM / GPRS, CDMA, and 3G UMTS. Craziest of all? The exeda has a 10/100Base-T Ethernet port in addition to WiFi. Yeah, we want one. No details on pricing, but hopefully we'll find out more when it hits in March.<br /><br />[Thanks, James R.]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/android/" rel="tag">Android</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/13/compulab-unveils-the-exeda-android-winmo-handheld/">Compulab unveils the exeda Android / WinMo handheld</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 13 Jan 2009 13:28:00 EST. While the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/EeeTop/">Eee Top</a> may get a lot of zombie-hand loving, it's not the only game in town when it comes to cheapo all-in-one PCs. Shuttle announced its X50 desktop at CES as well, a system with more than just a few similarities to the competition, namely its CPU, base RAM, display size and resolution, chipset, GPU, and OS. In case you don't know those by heart: 1.6GHz Intel Atom 330, 1GB of RAM, 15.6-inch,1366 x 768 resistive touchscreen display, 945GC mainboard, GMA 950 graphics, and Windows XP. The real difference is the hard drive -- the Eee Top sports a 160GB, the X50 just 80GB -- and the price point, with the Shuttle clocking in at $499 ($100 cheaper). Our take? We're starting to see the emergence of what amounts to the netbook desktop -- a one piece, low power system meant for the kids' room, the kitchen, or grandma's rest home suite. The Shuttle wins in the looks department, but don't make any fast decisions -- come its March launch, you'll be seeing plenty of these.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.fudzilla.com/index.php?option=com_content&amp;task=view&amp;id=11343&amp;Itemid=1">Fudzilla</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/desktops/" rel="tag">Desktops</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/13/shuttles-x50-all-in-one-desktop-pulls-up-alongside-the-eee-top/">Shuttle's X50 all-in-one desktop pulls up alongside the Eee Top</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 13 Jan 2009 08:09:00 EST. Ever have a cable you wanted to strangle? Well you're not alone, apparently. A company called E-Filliate issued a new series of USB, HDMI, Cat5, S-Video, and composite cables called Flexicord at CES this year which will bend -- and stay -- in any position you please, thus eliminating that frustration you must feel every time you plug in your camera or hook up your high fidelity sound system. The cables act like pipe cleaner or Gumby, so you can twist and shape them as you please, though apparently Pokey had to be killed and dissected so the technology could be obtained. Enjoy your new cable, murderers.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.everythingusb.com/e-filliate-flexicord-usb-cable-15943.html">Everything USB</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gadgets/" rel="tag">Misc. Although CES 2009 was undoubtedly smaller and perhaps a little more subdued than last year's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/01/14/ces-2008-everything-you-need-to-see/">HDTV-dominated extravaganza</a>, the products we did see were a lot more interesting -- and of course, Palm stole the show with its blockbuster Pre announcement. We've been <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/12/25/intel-put-the-kibosh-on-anti-ion-hubbub-welcomes-standalone-ato/">hearing</a> an awful lot about NVIDIA's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/12/17/nvidia-schemes-to-get-in-on-the-atom-platform/">Ion platform</a>, but up until now, we haven't <em>seen</em> an awful lot. <em>HotHardware</em> and <span style="font-style: italic;">PC Perspective</span> were both able to swing by NVIDIA's booth at CES and get an up close look at the diminutive system. On hand was a half-liter PC that utilized a 1.6GHz Atom 330 CPU and NVIDIA's GeForce 9400M GPU, and it was reportedly being used to push some pretty stellar video on the monitors behind it. Have a look past the break for a couple demonstration vids -- if this is the kind of graphical prowess we can expect from nettops of tomorrow, you can color us interested.<br /><br /><a href="http://hothardware.com/Articles/NVIDIAs-Ion-Small-FormFactor-PC-Platform-/">Read</a> - HotHardware<br /><a href="http://www.pcper.com/article.php?aid=659">Read</a> - PC Perspective<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/12/nvidia-ion-platform-gets-demonstrated-at-ces/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>NVIDIA Ion platform gets demonstrated at CES</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/laptops/" rel="tag">Laptops</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/12/nvidia-ion-platform-gets-demonstrated-at-ces/">NVIDIA Ion platform gets demonstrated at CES</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 12 Jan 2009 21:03:00 EST. While unpacking we found this clip (after the break) and these images of Hitachi's latest <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/09/25/hitachi-makes-like-toshiba-and-touts-super-resolution-technolog/">entry</a> into the Super Resolution arena and figured you might want a look at this attempt to make all things SD into high definition. At least so far, Toshiba has <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/12/18/toshibas-46xv545u-lcd-hdtv-reviewed-internal-upscaling-is-a-jo/">not impressed </a>many with its approach, we'll see if <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Hitachi/">Hitachi</a> has different luck.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/hitachi-super-resolution-upconversion-tv/">Hitachi Super Resolution Upconversion TV</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/hitachi-super-resolution-upconversion-tv/#1286724"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadgethd.com/media/2009/01/cespics07_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/hitachi-super-resolution-upconversion-tv/#1286723"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadgethd.com/media/2009/01/cespics06_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/hitachi-super-resolution-upconversion-tv/#1286722"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadgethd.com/media/2009/01/cespics05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/hitachi-super-resolution-upconversion-tv/#1286721"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadgethd.com/media/2009/01/cespics04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/hitachi-super-resolution-upconversion-tv/#1286720"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadgethd.com/media/2009/01/cespics03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/12/eyes-on-with-hitachi-super-resolution-tv/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Eyes-on with Hitachi Super Resolution TV</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/displays/" rel="tag">Displays</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hitachi/" rel="tag">Hitachi</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/12/eyes-on-with-hitachi-super-resolution-tv/">Eyes-on with Hitachi Super Resolution TV</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 12 Jan 2009 19:17:00 EST. We didn't notice nearly as much crap at CES 2009 as <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/01/13/you-decide-08-the-best-of-crapgadget-at-ces/">we did last year</a>, but what we did see was pretty stunning in its mediocrity -- and then there was the amazing Dragon gamepad, which in our opinion was single best product of the show. Pick your favorite of the contenders below, then hit your local dollar store to see 'em in person.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/crapgadget-crapdown-ces-the-best-of-the-worst/">Crapgadget Crapdown, CES: the best of the worst</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/crapgadget-crapdown-ces-the-best-of-the-worst/#1290641"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/crapgad-dsc_3570-600px2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="This will be home for Christmas, much to your family's disgust." title="This will be home for Christmas, much to your family's disgust." /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/crapgadget-crapdown-ces-the-best-of-the-worst/#1290640"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/wm-stereo-blootooth-01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="Nothing readies you for life's challenges like Bluetooth Stereo Sunglasses." title="Nothing readies you for life's challenges like Bluetooth Stereo Sunglasses." /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/crapgadget-crapdown-ces-the-best-of-the-worst/#1290639"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/wm-stereo-blootooth-02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="Bluetooth Stereo Sunglasses meet Max Headroom." title="Bluetooth Stereo Sunglasses meet Max Headroom." /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/crapgadget-crapdown-ces-the-best-of-the-worst/#1290638"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/icap-1.10.08_thumbnail.jpg" alt="The iCap -- it saves lives!" title="The iCap -- it saves lives!" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/crapgadget-crapdown-ces-the-best-of-the-worst/#1290637"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/kinetic-1.10.09_thumbnail.jpg" alt="Easily the most obscene, non-sex related gadget at CES." title="Easily the most obscene, non-sex related gadget at CES." /></a></div><br /><strong>The nominees:</strong><br /><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/09/crapgadget-ces-round-1-elvis-presley-plug-n-sing/" title="View Crapgadget CES, round 1: Elvis Presley Plug 'n Sing on Engadget" target="_blank">Crapgadget CES, round 1: Elvis Presley Plug 'n Sing</a><br /><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/09/crapgadget-ces-round-2-stereo-bluetooth-sunglasses/" title="View Crapgadget CES, round 2: Stereo Bluetooth Sunglasses on Engadget" target="_blank">Crapgadget CES, round 2: Stereo Bluetooth Sunglasses</a><br /><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/10/crapgadget-ces-round-3-the-icap/" title="View Crapgadget CES, round 3: The iCap on Engadget" target="_blank">Crapgadget CES, round 3: The iCap</a><br /><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/10/crapgadget-ces-round-4-kinetic-energy-charger/" title="View Crapgadget CES, round 4: kinetic energy charger on Engadget" target="_blank">Crapgadget CES, round 4: kinetic energy charger</a><br /><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/11/awesomegadget-ces-dragon-fire-breather/" title="View Awesomegadget CES: Dragon Fire Breather on Engadget" target="_blank">Awesomegadget CES: Dragon Fire Breather</a><br /><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/12/crapgadget-at-ces-round-5-new-generation-video-game-system/" title="View Crapgadget CES, round 6: New Generation Video Game System on Engadget" target="_blank">Crapgadget CES, round 6: New Generation Video Game System</a><br /><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/12/crapgadget-ces-round-7-the-furry-phone/" title="View Crapgadget CES, round 7: the furry phone on Engadget" target="_blank">Crapgadget CES, round 7: the furry phone</a><br /><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/12/crapgadget-ces-round-8-remote-control-cooler/" title="View Crapgadget CES, round 8: Remote Control Cooler on Engadget" target="_blank">Crapgadget CES, round 8: Remote Control Cooler</a><br /><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/12/crapgadget-ces-round-9-pimped-segway-kirf/" title="View Crapgadget CES, round 9: pimped Segway KIRF on Engadget" target="_blank">Crapgadget CES, round 9: pimped Segway KIRF</a><br /><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/08/cobys-mp836-hands-on-when-not-quite-ready-for-primetime-is-a/" title="View Coby's MP836 hands-on on Engadget" target="_blank">Coby's MP836 hands-on</a><br /><br /><p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/12/crapgadget-crapdown-ces-the-best-of-the-worst/#poll24983">View Poll</a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gadgets/" rel="tag">Misc. <div align="left">This unassuming little tablet somehow managed to slip under our radar at CES, but the folks at UMPC Portal did thankfully manage to snap a few pics of it, and dig up a few details. Dubbed the Q1EX, this followup / compliment to Samsung's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/q1">Q1 series</a> of UMPCs ditches the usual QWERTY keypad in favor of a full-on 7-inch touchscreen, and gets backed up by a VIA Nano processor, along with built-in Bluetooth, GPS, and WiMAX, among other standard tablet PC features. Unfortunately, there's no word on a price or release date just yet, but if Samsung's past track record with the Q1 is any indication, you can expect to see a whole slew of different incarnations before all is said and done.</div>

<div align="left">It doesn't look like this one was actually on display at CES, but Italy's Olidata does seem to have taken the opportunity to announce its shiny new Conte ultraportable, which takes square aim at the growing ranks of 13.3-inch ultra-thin laptops out there. From the looks of it, this one will be available in two different versions: one with a 16:10, 1280x800 display, and one with a 16:9, 1366x768 display, each of which will come equipped with a small form factor Core 2 Duo processor, optional built-in 3G or WiMAX, and a promised battery life of more than four hours (or seven with an extended battery). The 16:10 model will also add a few bonuses like Intel Turbo Memory, a fingerprint reader, a backlit keyboard, and 3GB of RAM as standard. Sadly, there's no indication of a release' round these parts just yet, but both models will supposedly be hitting Europe in May for "less than &euro;1,000" (or somewhere under $1,300).<br /><br />[Thanks, Faber]</div>

<a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/02/13/light-blue-optics-pvpro-mini-projector/">Light Blue Optics</a> may not be as familiar a name as say, Optoma or Texas Instruments, but it's bringing an equally interesting approach to <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/picoprojector/">pico projection</a> at CES. Showcased in Vegas last week was the outfit's holographic laser projection technology, which is reportedly brighter and smaller than existing alternatives. The demo system will also check in with double the brightness and at half the volume as its previous setups, and it's looking to wow with a conceptual rig that features a "table-down mode that allows the user to control the projector simply by touching the projected image." Now, if only these guys could push resolution to 720p+, we'd really consider ourselves fans.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/industry/" rel="tag">Industry</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/displays/" rel="tag">Displays</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/projector/" rel="tag">Projector</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/12/light-blue-optics-showcases-holographic-laser-projection-technol/">Light Blue Optics showcases holographic laser projection technology at CES</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 12 Jan 2009 15:01:00 EST. So, there's good news and bad news. Being that we enjoy handing out the former first, we'll point out the fact that the Windows Mobile-powered <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2008/11/18/winmo-powered-icephone-comes-to-life-looks-scary/">iCEphone</a> made the trip to Vegas in order to be showcased at CES. The bad? There's still no pricing nor US availability to take into consideration. Granted, the phone <em>is</em> designed to be used primarily during emergencies, but that doesn't make patience any easier to come by.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://onlygizmos.com/icephone-spotted-at-ces/2009/01/">OnlyGizmos</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/cellphones/" rel="tag">Cellphones</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/ces/" rel="tag">CES</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/12/icephone-makes-trip-to-ces-remains-unwieldy/">iCEphone makes trip to CES, remains unwieldy</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 12 Jan 2009 14:41:00 EST.
