At the tender age of fourteen, our oafish hamfists could barely handle the simplest daily tasks: Shoe tying, pencil handling, typing and so on. Danny Johnson, a 14-year-old with such outrageous manual dexterity that we're of the firm belief he's at least two-thirds robot, recently performed a task we thought unthinkable -- he broke 17-year-old Chris Chike's official record on Guitar Hero III's most difficult song, "Through the Fire and Flames", and he broke it by nearly 100,000 points. Robot.Johnson, who's broken nearly 80 guitar peripherals over the past nine months in pursuit of the record, set a wide margin with strategic Star Power usage, elevating his score to 973,954 (topping Chike's 899,703) during a performance at a Best Buy event with Guinness officiaries in attendance. However, we've seen Chike garner even higher scores without being witnessed by the aforementioned officiaries -- we think it's time for these two Jimmy Woods-esque virtuosos to settle this in a no-holds-barred, winner-take-all guitar duel.[Via Game|Life]

Consider us impressed floored. Chris "iamchris4life" Chike, the recognized Guinness world record holder for the highest single-song point tally in Guitar Hero III has gone and done what many considered impossible. In the above YouTube video, Chike 100-percents Dragonforce's "Through the Fire and the Flames," revered and dreaded by fans as the most difficult song in GH3. Watch in amazement – as we did – while Chike powers through the song on expert difficulty without missing a single note. In the end, he not only fully completed the song (beating his previous best of 97%) but scored 987,786 points (his best run prior to this netted 840,647). Our hats, glasses, and all other accessories are off to you, Chris. Now, may we offer you an ice pack for your hand?[Thanks, Wibby!]

Chris Chike, currently the Guinness world record holder for points in Guitar Hero III, won the Play N Trade GHIII tournament last weekend and bested his record-setting score. Chike's Guinness score was 870,647 (seen in video above) before he won the tournament, along with $2000 of in-store credit, with 889,256 points. The best part of this story is that Chike actually drove two hours to compete at the Play N Trade store in Bloomington, Minnesota. Guess when you're the world record holder the trip seems worth it, considering you've probably got the win in the bag. Chike says he still hasn't done as well at any tournament event than he's done at home. The good thing about tournaments and competition is you only have to be better than second place.
