Check out that fine-tuned Mog machine coming around the track! Why, it's Final Fantasy XIV, which has just shifted into its second closed beta phase and is sprinting toward the release of A Realm Reborn! Square-Enix is running beta tests over weekends in April. The focus of phase 2 is on the city-state of Gridania, Gamepad support for the PC, Chocobo mounts, and full active time events. It's not too late to sign up for the beta, either. When Final Fantasy XIV hits closed beta phase 3, the team will add in the PlayStation 3 version and a "huge amount" of additional content. Specific details and timing of phase 3 have yet to be announced. [Source: Square-Enix press release]

Yesterday marked the successful completion of ARGO Online's second closed beta phase. Today, the sci-fi, steampunk, and fantasy-flavored free-to-play MMO kicks off phase three, which is slated to run through March 30th. If you've participated in any of the earlier phases, you're already registered and will be able to access the new beta using your pre-existing account credentials. Phase three adds a guild system and an auction house to ARGO's post-apocalyptic world, and players will be able to continue testing all of the previously implemented systems. burda:ic has also released a few statistics from phase two of the beta, including the most popular Noblian class (the Explorer), the most popular Floresslah class (the Druid), and the distribution of Noblian vs. Floresslah players (51 percent to 49 percent). Check out the official ARGO Online website for more information or to sign up for beta.

Allods Online's third closed beta test is about to start, and we want to make sure you're prepared. With 5,000 keys to give out this time, more Massively readers will get their chance to see what the buzz is all about. This stage of closed beta will run from December 29th to January 11th and open up the level cap to 30. New content includes World PvP, four new zones, four new instances and approximately 500 new quests. Of course this is all in addition to all the content we've enjoyed in the first two closed beta tests. If you'd like to grab a key for yourself, head over to our giveaway page and follow the directions there. Since this giveaway is for the North American version of the game, you'll need to head over to allods.gpotato.com to redeem your key and download the game. Again, this beta won't open up until December 29th, but this will give you plenty of time to prepare! If you have a key from a previous beta stage, you don't need to grab another one this time; you're already set.
