As expected, AT&T has officially added a couple to its stable -- one on the midrange and one at the very bottom. The LG Trax -- once known as the CU575 -- has gotten plenty of press recently as the anticipated replacement for the CU500, offering stereo Bluetooth, a 1.3 megapixel camera, stereo Bluetooth, HSDPA, and a cool external touch strip for music control. The Pantech C150, meanwhile, looks like a great candybar for the price (free, that is) considering that it still manages to rock a VGA cam and Bluetooth support, and we're digging the pure white. Grab both now for $130 and $0 on contract, respectively.[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]Read - Pantech C150Read - LG Trax

With those last minute bugs now apparently eradicated, LG has officially announced plans to deliver their 3G CU575 "Trax" clamshell to AT&T. Touting 850/1900MHz HSDPA 3.6Mbps-capable downloads and quad-band GSM, this flip fancies itself a part-time media player with the inclusion of a Touch Pad bar and up to 4GB of microSD expansion for your AAC, MP3, and WMA music files. Still no word from AT&T but we expect the announcement later today with all the pricing detail you crave. Update: The joint press release is finally out: available August 14th for $130 after mail-in rebate and two-year contract.Read -- launch announcementRead -- CU575 specifications

  • LG's rumored roadmap for AT&T

We're hearing about a bevy of new handsets from LG that should -- by should, we mean it is rumored -- be landing at a store near you between now and the end of year. First up, LG's CU575 "Trax" -- that we've been hearing about for a while now -- may have finally found a solid date with AT&T, look for it to arrive around about August 17th. The LG CU400 is getting refreshed with the LG CU515, an all-black 3G handset that looks like a cross between the CU400 and CU500, expected September. Also rolling out is the CU720 or Shine a 3G slider with a 2 megapixel camera in September -- we've been waiting on this for some time, thanks AT&T. Of course, we've saved the sassiest tidbit for last, the MediaFLO-enabled LG CU920 or Prada will also debut this year from AT&T, but this guy will show in early December. We look forward to the angry head to head competition from the touch screen (almost) twins. Of course, don't shake angry fists at us if some of this doesn't come true, rumors have a way of changing with time.[Thanks, Superman]

  • Hands-on with AT&T's 3G LG Trax

Though there seems to be a slight bug holding up sales of LG's new 3G Trax (CU575) for AT&T, press materials still promise a July launch, and we got the phone in-hand for a bit of quality time this evening. Not a whole lot to say: it's skinny, comfortable to hold and use, and quite the looker, but nothing to write home about in terms of build. The phone looks like it'll be a good contender for your mid-level AT&T music phone dollar, but we'll let you be the judge of that whenever it finally hits stores.%Gallery-5058%

  • Last-minute bug holding up LG Trax launch?

Anyone worried that AT&T might actually manage to get the LG CU575 "Trax" out the door today can probably put those fears to rest now; it seems a software issue has cropped up on test units that is preventing DRM-enabled music from playing under certain circumstances. Wasn't a similar issue rumored to have held up the Nokia N75 for a while? Sheesh. Anyhoo, no word yet on when this thing might get fixed and relaunched, but we'll have our ear to the ground.[Thanks, anonymous tipster]

It looks like CU500 shoppers may want to hold off for just a few days. Cases, cables, chargers, and other knickknacks for LG's latest hunk of 3G love for AT&T -- the shiny CU575 -- are said to be arriving in stores as we speak, suggesting that a release probably isn't too far off. Stay tuned![Thanks, anonymous tipster]Update: Looks like the CU575's government name will be "Trax." Music theme, anyone?Update 2: We may be looking at a launch as soon as tomorrow, July 17. We'll keep you updated.

  • AT&T's busy launch roster (and no, we don't mean the iPhone)

A trusted source has slipped us some 411 that should be music to the ears of anyone on AT&T that isn't getting an iPhone. Believe it or not, AT&T hasn't forsaken you -- in fact, the network's upcoming launches are looking very promising indeed. From Samsung we'll see the A537 "Lion" and A737 "Peridot," and while we don't have any intel on what these might be, the A537 should reveal itself no later than August and the A737 may be an ultra-thin 3G slider to accompany the A717 and A727 flip and candybar. From Motorola, the RAZR 2 V9 is apparently in AT&T's sights -- if you hear AT&T employees discussing "Wildcat," this is the phone they're referring to -- while the V3xx gets yet another color: bubblegum pink. Finally, LG chimes in with the CU575 (a phone we saw way back at Spring CTIA) and the CE110. Stay tuned for details as we get 'em![Thanks, anonymous tipster]

  • LG CU575 for AT&T drops by FCC

We saw this hot little number all up in the CTIA's business a few weeks back, and sho' nuff, it's the FCC's turn to check it out (wow, how often is it that we see a phone before the FCC does?). A worthy upgrade to the CU500? Yeah, we'd say so; details are still disappointingly slim, but we can assume HSDPA, Video Share, and comprehensive media support (on account of the touch strip external control) are all in the cards. Now let us relish in the moment of our pre-FCC scoopage while you go check out the documents, will ya?

We were just casually wandering the expanses of LG's slick booth here at CTIA (stay tuned for more goodies from it) when we happened across this gem: a glass-encased flip simply known as "LG575." What caught our eye, though, was the telltale stylized AT&T globe on the OK button, so yeah, we pretty much know where it's headed. Judging from its appearance, we'd say its a midrange 3G piece in the same vein as the Samsung SYNC, but with an exterior that might be real metal (we couldn't be sure) and a clever-looking touch strip below the external display, presumably for music control. Judging from LG's recent naming convention for Cingular handsets, we wouldn't be terribly surprised to see this one turn into the "CU575," but who knows? LG's 575 for AT&T
