The Internet has made it easy to find cheats for games, but we miss the tips pages from game magazines, when the discovery of a new code could inspire you to go back to an old game. These codes aren't exactly new, but oldness is the essence of the Virtual Console! We're bringing back the classic codes every week on The VC Advantage. This week's theme is simple: it's Devil's Crush. That's more than enough to sustain its very own VC Advantage, because Devil's Crush is amazing. As far as we're concerned, it's more than enough to sustain its own site. It's definitely our favorite VC download so far (barring new developments like Sin and Punishment). So we thought we would look at some ways to enhance your enjoyment of this absolute masterpiece even further. Sound Test: Sound tests in games are usually no big deal, but Devil's Crush's theme song is so mind-blowingly rokken that we'd be happy to just leave it on for a few hours and turn the TV off. Naxat Soft has anticipated this desire, making the main theme number 01 in their list of sounds. To access the Sound Test, pause the game and then hit select to bring up the high score list. Press up, right, down, left, and then I, and the first high score will be replaced by the sound test.

This week's Virtual Console update for Europe is all about choice. Four games are on the block, and pretty much all they have in common is retro goodness. From pinball to pool to RPG, you can revel in whatever you like the best this weekend ... unless you like beat 'em ups or shooters, and the VC is already full of those. Breath of Fire II -- SNES -- 800 Wii points Devil's Crush -- TurboGrafx -- 600 Wii points Kirby's Ghost Trap -- SNES -- 800 Wii points Lunar Pool -- NES -- 500 Wii points So, campers, anything you feel like downloading this week?

As if last week wasn't enough pain and suffering, this week has just doubled it. Multiple times did we upload the file to YouTube, in its native AVI state, only to have a file with sound, yet no video, returned to us. Then, we decided to convert the file from AVI to WMV, but, again, we only got back a file of sound, no video. And, as we sat defeated and drained, none other than new recruit Mike Sylvester walked in and showed us how to fix it. Without him, we are lost. So, everyone thank Mike for making this week's video possible and be sure to head past the post break for the usual.

Get your 600 points ready now. You don't want to have any delay Monday when Devil's Crush hits. Even if you've already got Alien Crush and think you're set for Turbografx-16 pinball-- especially if you've already got Alien Crush-- you're going to want this. To put it as ridiculously as possible, Devil's Crush is by far the best vaguely-occult-themed pinball video game we've ever played. Eat that, Crüe Ball! Now in terms that mean something: Devil's Crush has an expansive three-screen-tall table, numerous bonus stages, great music, and a big face that gets progressively more evil as you smack it with a pinball-- much like any face would.
