Thanks to an unending tangle of intellectual property laws, it's unlikely that American gamers will see Spider-Man joining forces with Thor, Iron Man and Captain America, but Japanese gamers will receive just that in the upcoming Disk Wars Avengers: Ultimate Heroes. Based on the Marvel Disk Wars animated series from Toei Animation, Disk Wars Avengers: Ultimate Heroes stars Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, The Wasp and Spider-Man as playable Marvel heroes. It's unknown what foes this team will be battling in the game's Story Mode, but screenshots published by Bandai Namco feature images of AIM troopers and a hapless purple lizard creature on the wrong end of a Mjolnir lightning strike. Disk Wars Avengers: Ultimate Heroes is slated to hit the 3DS in Japan on November 13. There's no word on an English-language release, but it's not entirely outside of the realm of possibility as Disney Magical World, another Bandai Namco production based on Disney properties, made the jump from Japan to the United States in March of this year. It's the circle of life; first a game hits Japan, then North America and then Europe. Heigh-ho, Europe, maybe you should let it go and be happy 3DS game Disney Magical World will be a part of your world on October 24. So, Euro-friends, can you feel the love tonight? Moving on... Disney Magical World, if you're not familiar, combines the light-hearted fun of things like Animal Crossing and Tomodachi Life with a host of Disney-fied mini-games. The game arrived in North America back in April after proving a hit in Japan, where it shipped 500,000 units. Nintendo also revealed the Pirates of the Caribbean DLC - again already out stateside - is coming to Europe in November, bringing more Captain Jack to the land of Captain Jack.

If you like Disney but you prefer your 3DS systems big and less "peach-pink" - such a thing is possible - then you'll be pleased to hear the Disney Magical World 3DS XL that Japan got last year is also headed for North America. New promo photos reveal the "Mickey Edition" handheld launches alongside the 3DS game on April 11, and it's coming to Walmart. There's no word on price or if it comes with the game included. That's the Japanese version of the handheld above - the promo photos Nintendo published focus more on Disney sitcom actress G. Hannelius (her stylings, not ours) than the system. We're guessing the only real difference is the logo that says World on the North American version rather than Castle - come up with your own "It's a Small World" gag here. Update: Nintendo got in touch to let us know it's corrected its press release, which now states the Mickey Edition 3DS XL will only be available at Walmart, and not also at the Nintendo World Store as originally claimed. We've updated the post to reflect that. [Image: Bandai Namco]

Unbelievable sights, indescribable feelings - don't you dare close your eyes! GameStop has an exclusive "peach pink" 2DS that comes with a Disney Magical World carry case, and it's launching alongside the 3DS game in North America on April 11. The carrying case is free with the $130 handheld, but you'll have to stump up the cash to buy the game on top because it's sold separately - the thought of getting that carrying case without the game is almost more tear-inducing than the ending to Toy Story 3. If you think Disney costumes would improve Animal Crossing: New Leaf, or any game for that matter, then Magical World may be for you. The upcoming 3DS game isn't just about playing dress-up, though; it also has mini-games like fishing, planting crops, ballroom dancing, managing a cafe, and a ghost-hunting romp with a touch of the Kingdom Hearts about it. Disney will hope Magical World repeats the success it had in Japan, where it shipped 500,000 units, when it comes to North America on April 11. [Image: Disney]

Disney Magical World shipments surpassed the 500,000 mark in Japan, proving that as far as the 3DS game is concerned, it's not such a small world after all. Alright, we admit we shoehorned that reference in, so try not to take the Mickey. The news (via Gematsu) comes just after Disney announced the game for North America; for the record, it's been out in Japan since August 2013, albeit under the less catchy but even cheerier moniker of Disney Magic Castle: My Happy Life. As for what such a happy life comprises, it's everything from meeting your favorite Disney characters and dressing up like them, to running a cafe and cultivating crops. If you can't wait to slip into a Minnie dress, the good news is that Disney Magical World hits retail shelves and the eShop in North America on April 11.

  • Disney Magical World revealed, coming to 3DS on March 11

Tucked inside an innocuous report on just how well the 3DS performed during 2013 comes word of an upcoming handheld game entitled "Disney Magical World." "Disney Magical World is a new game featuring dozens of Disney characters in a variety of Disney-themed worlds," reads Nintendo's description. "Players can customize their characters with hundreds of Disney-themed outfits and accessories, all while managing a café, planting crops and collecting Disney character cards. Players help different characters solve problems or find missing items." While that's where the scant information on Disney Magical World ends, we do know that on March 11 it will appear on both the 3DS eShop and in retail stores. Update: NeoGAF users believe that Disney Magical World is an English localization of Disney Magic Castle: My Magical Life, a game developed by Namco Bandai and released in Japan last July. Nintendo has yet to confirm or deny this idea. (Image: Disney)
