The latest 'Borderlands 3' DLC is an engagement party with guns

Borderlands 3 is a lighthearted take on a Mad Max-style future, and its latest add-on is proof positive of that. Gearbox has released Guns, Love and Tentacles: The Marriage of Wainwright & Hammerlock, and it's just as silly as you'd hope for. You're attending the engagement party of the DLC's namesake characters on a brand-new world, Xylourgos, and it just so happens that the festivities are taking place near a giant creature carcass revered by a cult. You'll have to juggle celebrations with fighting off mutant cultists, bandits and the planet's not-so-timid wildlife.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate already includes a number of bonuses, but now that extends to content inside the games themselves. Microsoft's subscription now includes "Perks" like downloadable content, in-game goodies "and more." The initial extras revolve around cosmetics and characters, such as a gold ticket Mission Pass in Phantasy Star Online 2, ship ornaments in Sea of Thieves and five new Gods in Smite. Still, that could save you money if you're already the sort to buy in-game trinkets.

If you've completed Remedy's award-winning Control, fear not: more content is on the way. The Finnish game developer has dropped a 20-second teaser for The Foundation, a paid update to its trippy third-person shooter that revolves around Jesse, some possessed enemies called the Hiss, and a forever-creepy building called the Oldest House. At the end, a title card reveals the all-important release date: March 26th. We know very little about the upcoming DLC, other than what Remedy published in a brief blog post six months ago: "At the request of the ever-mysterious Board, Jesse must explore what lies beneath the Bureau as she returns order to the Foundation and the Oldest House itself." Intrigued? So are we.

Kingdom Hearts III coming to Xbox One was a big deal -- it was the first time a game from the series was published on one of Microsoft's platforms, and it was the first time a mainline Kingdom Hearts game wasn't exclusive to a PlayStation console. Xbox gamers can play even more of the series starting today -- Square Enix has published Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX and Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue on Xbox One. The two compilations comprise eight games and one movie, meaning fans can play almost every entry in the Kingdom Hearts saga.

You'll soon have another fix if you can't get enough of Kingdom Hearts -- you know, Square Enix's other big RPG franchise. The developer has revealed Re Mind DLC that will continue the Kingdom Hearts 3 story this winter. The teaser doesn't say much about what's coming to PS4 and Xbox One players, but it hints at a new battle form for lead character Sora, trouble for Kairi and a fight with the sinister Organization XIII. You'll find a "familiar realm," but new boss fights and the ability to switch characters in some battles.

The gaming giant has announced during its latest Nintendo Direct event that it will continue developing more fighters beyond the five included in the $25 DLC pack it started offering last year.

Nintendo has been slowly expanding how and where you can play Tetris 99. In February, the company released the battle royale game as an online exclusive for Switch. A few months later, Nintendo offered downloadable content, so users could play the game offline. While you could still battle against opponents, offline you were forced to duke it out against bots. Now, it looks like that's going to change. Nintendo appears to be planning an offline multiplayer mode.

The good news is that games from four generations of Xbox will be playable on the new hardware. Even better news is that a pretty sweet list of titles are being added to the program today. The bad news is that the program, which launched during E3 in 2015, is coming to an end for original Xbox and Xbox 360 games.

Mortal Kombat 11 players have already been awaiting the return of Shang Tsung, and to control the character now modeled on the man who played him in the first MK movie, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa. A new DLC for the "Kombat Pack" DLC not only shows off Shang Tsung -- complete with shapeshifting that extends all the way through his fatalities and a slick "Your soul is mine" reference -- but also confirms a few more fighters on the way. Those include Spawn, Sindel, Nightwolf and two still-unnamed additions. Fans have focused on some sound details at the end of the trailer to guess that the last two new fighters will be familiar faces Ash -- actor Bruce Campbell tweeted the trailer last night -- and Terminator. The $40 add-on pack brings all six new characters as they roll out, a week of early access starting with Shang Tsung on June 18th, plus access to new skins and gear.
