Samsung Galaxy S III LTE with quad-core Exynos comes to three Korean carriers July 9th
While in the US, our LTE-equipped Galaxy S IIIs are packing dual-core Snapdragon S4 processors, the (so far) Korean-only Galaxy S III LTE that combines the quad-core Exynos processor of the international model with high speed data finally has a release date -- July 9th. Samsung's post indicates three carriers (SK Telecom, KT and LG U+) are lined up for the launch and confirms that the battery will remain at 2,100 mAh along with 2GB of RAM and DMB TV tuning. Having everything will likely come at a price of battery life since the quad-core CPUs are not as well integrated with LTE so far, but those willing to compromise for more cores (despite the dual-core Krait's not-at-all shabby performance) will likely look on with envy.
Pantech's Mirach A dishes up Gingerbread, DMB TV for the Korean market
What's black or white with a 3.5-inch screen and circular home button? Why, it's the Pantech Mirach A, of course! This just-launched phone for the Korean market, also known as the IM-740S and IM-750K, follows a long tradition of local phones that stream live TV. Other than that DMB TV tuner, its specs include HVGA resolution, wireless-N and Bluetooth 2.1 radios, along with an 800MHz CPU, 512MB RAM, a 3 megapixel rear camera, and a 0.3 megapixel front-facing one. No word on pricing, though we know it's headed to Korea's KT network. So if those of you outside Korea have been jonesing for some DMB and Gingerbread, well, keep dreaming.
Muto i7 GPS with DMB/PMP action
You know how we love those Korean GPS/PMP/DMB combo units we're never going to get our hands on, and at the rate they keep on coming down the pipe, it looks like we'll be able to safely feed our addiction 'till we get caught up to them over here. One of the latest is this Muto i7 unit, running Windows CE and packing an increasingly-standard 7-inch screen, with an SD slot for expansion, as well as a remote control to enjoy some DMB TV from a distance. No word on specific details on the GPS front, though it promises 3D graphics with "iconic 3D buildings and structures." There's also no word on price or availability, of course, though we're guessing if you don't exchange in won, you don't need to know.
