digg_url = 'http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/30/rumor-psp-go-revealed-in-june-issue-of-qore/'; Update: A video from the June issue of Qore is now available on YouTube (and after the jump). In the video, Qore host Veronica Belmont discusses the new PSP Go handheld with Sony's John Koller who mentions the handheld (which features 16GB of internal storage, a memory slot for expandable memory and bluetooth) will not replace the current PSP-3000 -- they will coexist.According to Koller, new titles will be revealed for the platform at E3, specifically: a new Metal Gear Solid and Jak & Daxter. Also, expect Sony's E3 briefing to mention Jak & Daxter PSP (announced previously) and Gran Turismo PSP -- which has been known since the birth of the platform. Get those bingo cards out, kids!Original Article: According to images grabbed by the Gaming Console Network, PS3's virtual magazine (Qore) made its latest issue available early and revealed the (long-rumored) PSP revision. As rumors and mockups theorized, the PSP Go in the images features no UMD drive and a sliding screen. It also features a single (and poorly positioned) analog stick. Adding fuel to the fire, PlayStation LifeStyle has posted an image it states is of the actual retail packaging for the soon-to-be announced handheld iteration -- and both designs match. As we have not been able to spot the images on Qore our self, we're calling this rumor. It appears, with the video, PSP Go is all but confirmed. Only a few days until we find out if the madness is true.%Gallery-64545% [Thanks to everyone who sent this in. Via GameTrailers Forum. Image Credit: Eurogamer]

Dates have been set. Lines have been drawn. The war rages on. Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo have all scheduled media briefing dates and times for E3 2009. As usual, Microsoft jumps in first, kicking the affair off on June 1 (the day before E3) at 10:30AM PDT. On June 2, Nintendo waggles to stage at 9:00AM PDT, followed by Sony at 11:00AM PDT. With E3 reverting to the days of yore, we expect blinding lasers and fist-pumping anthems along with all the megaton announcements. Think of an excuse now, because between June 1 and June 4 you're not going to want to be at work, school or with significant others. You're going to be at your computer, frantically hitting refresh for all of our in-depth coverage. You know, like you are right now. [Image: LevelGrind]

With E3 trying to reclaim its former glory by once again taking over the entirety of the LA Convention center, there's going to be a lot to see and do this year. There's also going to be a lot of walking to do, because 90% of the space for June's show has already been claimed, so says the ESA. The organization's goal of 40,000 qualified attendees is also on track and it has confirmed that over 100 exhibitors are already on board, besting the 86 we knew about back in February.E3 2009 will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center June 2 though June 4.[Via Gamespot]

The Entertainment Software Association has updated the list of E3 2009 exhibitors ... and it's long. Well, at least when compared to last year's. We're talking 86 companies confirmed to be attending this year's show; last year there were 40. It's looking like the E3 of yore is, in fact, back. The roster has beefed up quite a bit since a preliminary list was released earlier in the month. As expected, Midway's missing from the new one. Not surprising with it no longer being a part of the ESA. Tecmo, Natsume, Valve and D3Publisher are also absent from the list; we've contacted the companies to confirm their attendance plans. The full list of exhibitors attending E3 2009 is just after the break.

Talking to Major Nelson in his latest podcast, Microsoft Game Studios boss Phil Spencer mentioned that Microsoft's plan for next year's E3 will be to discuss game's that are "further out in the future" which he admits may just "break the bank." "We're looking at some of the plans for the future and things that we might want to tease, and it's very exciting because there's a lot of stuff on the way," said Spencer, making it quite clear that Microsoft will not be holding back on their E3 reveals. And now, after we think about it, we're not sure what bank breaking announcements Microsoft will have in June of 2009. That said, we never doubt Microsoft's ability to impress.[Via CVG]

  • E3 tries to make a comeback in 2009

E3 2009 will take place June 2-4 next year, at the LA Convention Center. It won't be open to the public or anything, but the list of people who can attend will be less restrictive than the previous two years, says the ESA. They'll be opening the doors to all "international and US-based media, analysts, retailers, developers and business partners." So, attendance will increase and this move should hopefully help E3 get back to what it used to be: loud, smelly, and oh-so-fun!And while we're on the subject, be sure to check out Joystiq's interview with ESA president and CEO Mike Gallagher right here.%Gallery-27788%
