Harmonix’s next music-making game puts your DJ skills to the test
Harmonix, the developer behind Rock Band and Dance Central, is back with a new music-making game: Fuser. Players will become music festival DJs, mixing vocals, bass lines, beats and riffs from artists like Billie Eilish, Lil Nas X, Lizzo, 50 Cent, The Chainsmokers and Imagine Dragons. They'll earn points for timing and crowd feedback, and they'll be able to share their mixes with friends.
NVIDIA's AI will help USPS handle packages 10 times faster
The US Postal Service (USPS) delivers an estimated 146 billion pieces of mail annually, including 6 billion packages. In an attempt to process package data more efficiently, USPS is experimenting with AI. Today, NVIDIA announced that it will provide USPS with its AI tech. NVIDIA claims its system will process package data 10-times faster and with higher accuracy.
NVIDIA's EGX supercomputer tech can crunch 1.6 terabytes a second
Much like Microsoft, NVIDIA is shifting big parts of its tech toward the enterprise space to rely less and less on the messy and competitive world of consumer graphics. To that end, it has unveiled the NVIDIA EGX Edge Supercomputing Platform that marries NVIDIA's CUDA-X software with certified GPU servers. The tech is supported by Microsoft on its Azure and Azure AI apps, and has been adopted by companies like Walmart, Samsung and BMW, as well as the cities of Las Vegas and San Francisco, NVIDIA said in a press release.
UK's Eurogamer Expo renamed EGX London, dated for 2014
The Eurogamer Network is bringing together its two major UK expos under the blanket name of EGX, starting next year. So, the Eurogamer Expo becomes EGX London, while the PC and indie-orientated showcase Rezzed is EGX Rezzed now. Names are all good and well, but we're sure you're more interested in the confirmed dates for what's been the UK's premier expo over the last few years. EGX London runs across September 25 to 28, 2014, at the Earl's Court venue once more, with tickets going on sale starting April 1. Meanwhile, EGX Rezzed comes to the NEC in Birmingham on March 28-30, and tickets are on sale now.
