Falling damage probably isn't something many of us stop to think about, unless we play Monks, Rogues, or other classes that have the ability to level up a safe-fall type of ability. But for people who have been inhabiting Entropia Universe, falling damage is something new and shiny -- an option that was only recently put in. Today's One Shots from Razormat features the silliness that arose after falling damage was added: players tossing their avatars off the top of the tallest structures they could find! Razormat writes in to explain: "In this picture you can see the avatars in mid-air after they jumped off the Port Atlantis Tower. Recently fall damage was introduced in Entropia Universe, and the players are always looking for new ways to have fun." Do you take part in a world we don't see often? Want to show off a silly moment from your MMO day? We're always interested in what you're up to. If you'd like to take part, then send your images to us here at oneshots@massively.com along with your name, the name of the game, and a description of what we're seeing. We'll post it out here for everyone to enjoy and give you the credit for sending it in. %Gallery-85937%

Welcome back to The Queue, WoW.com's daily Q&A column where the WoW.com team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Alex Ziebart will be your host today. We haven't kicked off The Queue with reading music in awhile, so let's change that. Once upon a time I posted some Rhett and Link for you, an internet-based musical comedy duo, and people seemed to enjoy it. So here's more! Behold, the T-Shirt War. T-Shirt War was actually my second choice behind the far more hilarious Butt Drugs, but perhaps Butt Drugs aren't as safe for work. Still, funny stuff. Butt Drugs. The Queue is actually a bit short today, since a majority of the questions we've been receiving require rolling bones and gazing into a crystal ball to answer. If you have a non-Cataclysm question for us, please ask in the comments below! busuan asked... "Why is there almost no sound effect for a warrior's shouts? In Diablo II, the similar shouts come with awesome sound effects. But in WoW, warrior shouts merely generate a visual cue. If Blizzard though effect were annoying to other people, they could have restricted the effects as self-only."

  • Scouting around with the Crashin' Thrashin' Racer

Cabinetsanchez over on LJ has documented something that I saw in action yesterday while running a few instances -- while it's a ton of fun to run my Crashin' Thrashin Racer around (I'm undefeated since I picked up the achievement the first day I got the toy, by the way), players have found a few extra ways to make the Racers work for them. Yesterday, I saw one of my group members using the Racer a few times to scout the instance ahead and see what pulled with what, and as CS says, it worked great: while the Racer will aggro enemies, they won't tag on to the rest of the group -- they'll just reset after they destroy the little car.CS also says that the Racer takes no falling damage, so you can send it exploring off of cliffs and platforms, and he says that though the car is considered level 60, its aggro range is pretty small (I can attest to this, as we were driving it pretty close to enemies yesterday without it registering on their radar). And he's got an even more devious use (some might say this is an exploit): bosses aggroed by the racer will sometimes despawn after they conquer it for up to 30 seconds or so. That seems like a hotfix waiting to happen, but I haven't personally tried it, so it may not be as useful as it sounds. The downside of this is that the Racer was meant to be a fun item, and if it really does lead to behavior that Blizzard considers exploiting, they might have to think twice about including great items like this in the future. We'll have to see what their ruling on this is, but hopefully no matter what happens (I'm guessing a quick hotfix, maybe even shrinking the range of the Racer's controller), this won't prevent Blizzard from giving us more fun toys later on.

  • Legends of the fall damage

Ever since Mario missed the jump from the pipe to the floating platform, video game characters have been falling to their deaths. Falling in WoW is very annoying, since not only do you lose 10 percent durability and have to run back to your body, your body has often fallen into a less-than-accessible place. Plus, there's the humiliation of a totally avoidable death. As a rogue and then a paladin, I've been spared a lot of falling deaths, but the times I have died are memorable. It almost makes me wish that there was a list of Azeroth's most dangerous drops, like there is for dangerous mobs and most looted items. So after consulting with friends and guildmates, here's the Top Five List for falling deaths in WoW. The Aldor Rise, as evidenced by the huge pile of skeletons beneath it. "Hmm, guess I wasn't on my flying mount after all." The Undercity elevator, which keeps magically dropping people straight through it to their deaths. The floor of this elevator must be as ghostly as the city's inhabitants. The Telredor elevator in Zangarmarsh -- the Alliance version of the UC elevator. Let's see, the Draenei have built two messed-up elevators, but the Tauren ones in Thousand Needles and Thunder Bluff work okay. Midair, anytime you accidentally click your mount macro or button or start casting a spell if you have auto-dismount on. My mount button is the scroll wheel of my mouse, so I find myself falling quite a bit. And, last but not least, that stupid mine shaft in Searing Gorge. The worst of it is when you fall down the mine shaft during a corpse run from Thorium Point to any of the Blackrock Mountain instances, making anywhere from four to thirty-nine other people wait for you as your ghost desperately tries to remember how to get out of the Slag Pits. Do you fall to your death often? What equipment or abilities do you use to live through great falls? What are the most dangerous heights in WoW?
