A bunch of Family Guy content hit Marketplace just now. No, not content for the mediocre game, content about the good show. The content itself, though, is not so good; luckily, it's free. The theme inexplicably uses an orange background, washing out the beloved Family Guy characters in the background. Why Fox chose not to color the characters is a mystery, too. Now, Family Guy gamer pictures, that's something everybody can get behind, right? The pictures aren't bad, but it's obvious they were rushed. That, or nobody at Fox really gave a crap what they looked like. The pictures look like assets that were re-sized and not optimized in any way, making them pixelated and jagged. The one of Brian (the dog) is alright, and maybe one of the Stewie pics. Unfortunately, not even the trailer is very satisfying, as it's for the DVDs in general and not the upcoming volume 4. Maybe we're just picky, but Fox could have done better with this.Do you agree? Disagree? Not care either way?

I gotta say the Family Guy game is looking pretty darn sharp with its cell-shaded graphics, and IGN has just released the game's first video, showing off those gorgeous good looks. However, don't get too excited yet because this video has been added to all IGN channels its being developed for. Still, even if it's not the PSP version, it should still look very comparable. Gamespy had the privelage to play an early build and said the gameplay tends to get boring, but the visuals and storyline are very good. Family Guy, which will be published by 2K Games and developed by High Voltage Software is set to ship Oct. 16.

A few years ago, the thought of a Family Guy video game was almost laughable. The series was cancelled and things weren't looking good, but thanks to the success of the series on DVD and immense fan support, the cartoon was resurrected and now things everything is happy, happy, joy, joy.Hoping to cash in on its new-found success, 2K Games and developer High Voltage Software are bringing Family Guy to the PSP Oct. 2.The game, which is cell-shaded and what cartoon-based game isn't anymore, puts players in control of Stewie, Peter and Brian, each with their own storyline.Gamespy says the graphics are nice and the storyline is fun, but the gameplay may get boring to some, and High Voltage Software needs to address some animation and audio problems.(Via Gamespy)

2K has announced that the entire Family Guy cast has signed on to voice the upcoming game based on the cartoon series. Expected to ship at some point this fall, this is the first game to be based on Family Guy.Seth MacFarlane will set the comedic tone in the game's world by providing his "freakin' sweet" voice over for the game's main playable characters such as the lovable oaf Peter Griffin, his world domination-obsessed son Stewie, and Brian Griffin, the family dog. Additional actors will be reprising their roles, such as Alex Borstein voicing Lois Griffin, Mila Kunis doing Meg Griffin, Seth Green as Chris Griffin, and Adam West as the Mayor of Quahog. As for the gameplay itself, GameSpot broke it down like this during E3: Gamers will be able to switch back and forth between three characters: bumbling patriarch Peter Griffin, matricidal maniac Stewie, and martini-swigging canine Brian. Each playable character will have its own storyline -- Peter is out to stop Mr. Belvedere from taking over the world, Stewie goes up against his archenemy Bertram, and Brian tries to escape his wrongful imprisonment.

Last night on Fox's Family Guy, Stewie had a little fun with his Mac. While practicing for the Olympics, his brother Chris interrupted his "training" (don't ask). Stewie responded by knocking Chris unconscious with a book, and using his motionless body as a landing platform for his pole vaulting practice. Delighted, he announced, "...That was even cooler than playing with the speech function on my Macintosh."Cut to Stewie in his high chair in front of a laptop:Stewie: So, computer, what are you thinking about right now?Mac: Stewie is cool.Stewie: Yaaaay![Via TVSquad]

Today's widget is only 90% useless. Frylock is a Konfabulator Yahoo! Widgets Engine widget that floats your favorite box of animated French fries around your desktop in that unique, Frylock fashion. You can even configure it to launch the application of your choice when double-clicked. See? It's mildly amusing and kind of useful. I'd like it even better if it included some audio clips, but beggars can't be choosers. Round out your collection of animation-based widgets with this Futurama collection as well as these from Family Guy.
