Stylishly fast shooter Futuridium EP Deluxe will launch next week on PlayStation 4 and Vita. Now slated to launch on Tuesday, September 30, the game will cost $12.49 and will launch at a 20 percent discount ($9.99) for PlayStation Plus members. The game is also Cross-Buy compatible, so those with both systems will only need to pay for it once. Futuridium EP Deluxe locks players in 50 forward-scrolling levels, blasting obstacles to reach five bosses and eventually unlock extra modes. It comes by way of Italian independent developer MixedBag, which first offered a free PC and Mac version of the game in June of last year. The studio confirmed plans to bring the brightly-colored game to PlayStation systems in February. Futuridium EP Deluxe will be compatible with PlayStation TV when it launches on October 14. Polygonal technicolor space shooter Futuridium EP Deluxe - think Star Fox at a dubstep rave - is zipping along to PS4 and Vita, complete with Cross-Buy support. That means if you buy one of the two PlayStation versions, you'll unlock the other at no further cost. Futuridium EP Deluxe is centered around boosting your multiplier by blasting blue cubes and chaining enemy and cube KOs to rack up the bonus points. As with any good score chaser, developer MixedBag says players will need to master the game's nuances and their own reflexes to really speed up the leaderboards. MixedBag previously said it was bringing Futuridium EP to Vita with chaotic-sounding additions like turbo zones and teleport portals, and today the Italian indie revealed a simultaneous release on PS4. The console version supports 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second, and MixedBag says it has "even more dazzling graphical effects" to trip out to. In addition to Cross-Buy support, leaderboards are shared between the two PS platforms. There's no word on a release date beyond "soon, really soon," but in the interim you can check out the original Futuridium EP for free on Windows PC and Mac. An iOS version is also available, priced at $2. [Image: MixedBag]

Italy-based indie studio MixedBag announced that an enhanced and extended version of its wildly colorful rail shooter Futuridium is coming soon to the PlayStation Vita. Mixing elements from the arcade classic Zaxxon and Commodore 64 shooter Uridium, Futuridium is a forward-scrolling shoot-'em-up in which players swoop across the surfaces of massive space dreadnoughts, destroying any obstacles they encounter. Players aim to destroy power cubes during each run through the trenches, eventually revealing the enemy vessel's life-sustaining power core. Originally released as freeware for Windows and Mac, Futuridium will hit the Vita with a collection of new gameplay modes, new levels, and an overhauled audiovisual presentation. A release date has not been announced. [Image: MixedBag]
